Finder loses location when switching views

Hi,
In Finder if I'm viewing a network drive (Linux share via SMB) and switch from column view to icon view when I switch back to loses the location and takes me right back to the list of shares on that server.
This only started since upgrading to Lion, any ideas?

There seems to be a bug with Finder where some aspect of disconnecting a MBP from an external display will cause the desktop to crash. Symptoms include:
All desktop icons disappear but files on the desktop can still be accessed by browsing through Finder.
Desktop background image cycling (if enabled) does not occur.
You can bring up the desktop shortcut menu (i.e. by right clicking)

The workaround is to relaunch Finder using the "Force Quit" application, at which point the desktop works normally again. However I'd really like a proper fix to this bug. If anyone's heard about one, please post about it here.

Zen Micro lose Power when Switched OFF??

Hello,
I was wondering if anyone else is experiencing the same problem as me. I fully charged my Zen Micro last night and then left it and just switch it on for the first time now (8 hours later), and the battery indicator shows 2 bars left?
Seems like the Zen Micro loses power even when switched off!?!
Can anyone confirm that this is the case and whether I can do anything to stop it from happening? Is this normal with Hard Dri've MP3 player or only with the Zen Micro?

Ditto here. I did do a disk cleanup last week and the micro seems to be holding it's charge longer now. It's still draining the battery while sitting idle though according to the bar indicator, but slower (go figure?). This is my only real issue with the Zen Micro as I love it otherwise!
One wierd thing I noticed was I charged it full then left it sit for about 3 days (checking it off and on) then on day 3 it was at one bar. So I plugged it into my home sterio and turned it on to see how long it would play for. I was really surprised to see it last a few minutes shy of 9 hours...
Could this be a battery calibration thing instead of it just loosing charge? Like the meter misreads the batteries actual charge over time instead of it loosing power?

Autorotate stops when switching view from popover

Hi guys. This is my first post here (on my first iOS app) so please be gentle
I have my iPad app set to Autorotate between both right and left home button landscape modes.
Everything seams to be working fine when i build and run. Auto rotation works and only admit landscape modes.
In my view controller i have a button linked to a popover with 4 other buttons to swich to 4 different views.
When i switch to any of those other views autorotation stops working.
All those views have the same code to accept autorotation:

return (interfaceOrientation == UIInterfaceOrientationLandscapeRight || interfaceOrientation == UIInterfaceOrientationLandscapeLeft);
The popover also has that code and is displaying the buttons in the correct way when I rotate the screen. I assume that the popover is autoratating fine, but the rest of the view stays upside down.
I'm switching views from the popover with the following code:

Any ideas why autorotation stops working?

Same problem here, happening both in the simulator and on the device itself.

Lose Dock when switching from External monitor

When I disconnect my external monitor and open my MacBook monitor the Dock is not visible except when I cursor over the Dock area it's starts to reappear? It's very strange.

I think the problem revolves around the change of resolution when switching back. Because my Windows for Safari are out of whack too. So I am thinking the Dock is position wrong at first.

Browser loses location when backbutton used

Hi, on my 32gb TouchPad, there appears to be a bug in the internet browser, or maybe a missing thing.
When surfing with the web browser, then pressing the BACK button, the internet browser goes to previous page, but goes back up to the page. It does not remember where we were on that page.
this is a pain when I have a long page of links or search results, and I want to go back to previous place in the same location so I can work my way further down the page. Of searches.
it also noticeable whilst navigating this forum.
I scroll down forum page and selecting those topics I like to view, one at a time. After each topic I look at,I press the back button to take me back to main page, only to find that page has rew3ound to beginning sand have to scroll down every time.
only option would be within the search results page or main forum pages, to hold down each desired link, choose open in new tab, then you will have the pages you want, but you will still have the original page, in the right location, not resound to start, but that is a pain.
please can you fix so internet browser remembers vertical height position when we go back with back key too ya also in regular browser app not remembered also.

This is a problem. The times I need to be where I left off when I go back vs the times I need to be at the top of the page is about 500 to 1. Every other browser I used, including the webOS browser on my Pre Plus, put me where I left off when I used the back button. Why this wasn't part of the original webOS 3, let alone part of the update, is inexplicable.
If HP can't or won't fix it, can the homebrew community?

Help Needed "Camera not asking to use photo location when switched on"

Hey guys, any help would be greatly appreciated.
When I turn on my camera app it used to ask if I wanted to use the location. Now it does not, I am interested in seeing what I can do with the geotagging feature. I checked my settings, and use location is on. I turned it off, backed out, turned it back on again but nothing changed.
When I open up maps and click the little round "find me" button, it works great.
Any ideas on what I can do to get my camera app working again? Thanks in advance.

If Location Services is ON, the geotagging data should be stored with the pics. The iPhone Photos app cannot display that information - you'd need to use a 3rd party app or upload the photo to a photo sharing website that supports geotagging data.
If you want to see that 'use location' request from the Camera app, go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset Location Warnings.

How to change the speed when switching views?

I've found that for most models I use, that the default speed between view transitions is too fast. I'm trying to find a way to slow it down a little, has anyone had any luck with this?
I've looked around and think I need to write a new Camera Handler. But I've found that by using the JS included in the smooth camera rotation tutorial, this behaviour only works when interacting with the model directly, not when navigating a model's views from buttons when a button simply has this code set:
c3d = this.getAnnots3D(0)[0].context3D;
c3d.runtime.setView (0, true);
I guess what I'm trying to do is change the default speed of the camera during any interaction, whether it's from a button, from the view list or from interacting with the model directly.
Can anyone offer any help?

Presentation Director loses settings when switching between Chinese and English

I've done the "Install files for East Asian languages" and then set the "Language for non-Unicode programs" to "Chinese (PRC)". I do this for our presales people so they can show our prospects that our software is translated (for those that have plants in China and the US). I have the default language set to English. I don't believe it's relevant but I should also mention that this is on a Lenovo T61 with XP-SP3.
When I use the Presentation Director (Fn+F7) most of the screen shows in Chinese. The ones I've added show in English (I have a screen snapshot). I also get Chinese characters in other Lenovo utilities as well.
So I figured I'd just change the "Language for non-Unicode programs" back to English, reboot, and the display would be OK. Not so! The display is in English all right, but NOTHING appears in the window - none of the default settings, none that I added, JUST NOTHING! I have a snapshot of this as well.
I changed the Unicode setting back to Chinese, reboot, and Presentation Director shows all of them still there, some in Chinese and some in English like before.
Does anyone have any ideas how I can get the Presentation Director utility to display properly (in English) and show all the original settings as well? Obviously the settings are stored somewhere since when Chinese is turned on it can display them.

My ipod touch no longer finds my location via my router after ios 5 update

After I updated my ipod touch to ios5 it can no longer find my location when its on wifi using my airport express router . It has no problem when I'm using another router in another physical location... it finds its location perfectly. Only has a problem using my router at on home on my wifi network. I've seen posts online about this problem but no clear solutions. I've tried re-setting both devices as well as registering the router on skyhook but to no avail. Does anybody have any ideas about how to work around this.

- Apple no longer uses Skyhook. They have their own database and they update it from data they optain via iPhones. No one has found a way to tell Apple to add or update a router location.
- Power off and then back on the router.
- Reset networks settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings

Firefox is blocking site from finding my location

When visiting http://www.geocaching.com/ I would like them to "Find My Location" when I click on the link. The first time I did this, a FireFox pop-up asked me if I wanted to allow or prevent. I accidentally clicked prevent. I do NOT want to prevent this. HOW do I reverse this action? I am unable to find the information anywhere. Because I cannot reset this, I need to use Internet Explorer instead. Please help. Thank you.

Shortcuts to switch views in Finder don't work

I am reading that Apple-1, Apple-2, and Apple-3 will switch between the icon, list, and column view in the Finder. Yet when I try this, nothing happens. Does it work on your machine, and if so, any idea why it doesn't work on mine?

Try this:
Navigate to ~(yourhome)/library/preferences and trash these two files:
com.apple.finder.plist
com.apple.sidebarlists.plist
Then log out and back in again. Or restart.
(You will have to reset a few finder prefs the way you like them.)

How to keep location in a table persistent when switching between pages

Hi -
How would I keep my last location persistent in a table when switching between pages? If I am on cell X and switch to another page, when returning to the previous page, I return to the top of the table. This can be very annoying when trying to find the same location in a large table (or even in a small one).

If by "page" you mean "sheet", you can do it. To get back to the same place you were in the other sheet, click on the sheet in the sidebar (the list of sheets/tables/charts/etc on the left). Don't click on the table, click on the sheet.

You can use iCloud to share the Calendar, that way she will always be up to date on that particular section of your work calendar. If you want to use iCloud, I would recommend backing up so you have a safe copy of your data.

You need a valid/working email address in order to create an account.
Create a NEW account/ID for her using these instructions. Make sure you follow the instructions. Many do not and if you do not you will not get the None option. You must use an email address that you have not used with Apple before. Make sure you specify a birthdate that results in being at least 13 years old

Use the new ID on her iPod but only for:
Settings>Messages>Send and Receive
Settings>FaceTime
Settings>GameCenter
and Settings>iCloud if you want her to have separate Contacts Calendar and some other things.
Continue to use the same/common Apple ID for Settings>iTunes and App stores so you can share purchases.
Note that if yo chaghe acounts in Settings>iTunes and App Store media will NOT be deleted from the ipod but:
- Apps are locked to the account that purchased them.
- To update apps you have to sign into the account that purchased the apps. If you have apps that need updating purchased from more than one account you have to update them one at a time until the remaining apps were purchased from one account.
