Finder says Dreamweaver CS6 is a Power PC app?

For some reason I'm not able to post on the Adobe Support Forums so I thought my next best option would be here.
I got the new Macbook Pro with Retina Display the other day and bought Adobe Design and Web Premium as well, everything installed fine apart from Dreamweaver. When I try to open it, an error pops up saying "You can't open the application "Adobe Dreamweaver CS6" because PowerPC applications are no longer supported". Obviously it's not a PowerPC app, so is there anyway to fix with without unistalling and re-installing?
Thanks in advance!

Text Edit wouldn't open them, but when I clicked on Show Package Contents there was a page TXT.rtf which opened the file in Text Edit. I lost all the pics, but the text was the most important. So Thank You for the lead.

  • JQuery Mobile in Dreamweaver CS6

This question was posted in response to the following article: http://helpx.adobe.com/dreamweaver/using/whats-new
Mulling the upgrade to CS6. This article says Dreamweaver CS6 ships with jQueryMobile 1.0 and jQuery 1.6.4.
We now have version 1.1.0 of jQueryMobile with a suggestion to use jQuery 1.7.1 with it.
Question: Can we, and how do we, update the libraries? And will the new versions work without a hitch in Dreamweaver CS6?

Yes, you can update the included version of jQuery Mobile.
Download the desired version from jquerymobile.com, and replace the files within Dreamweaver's Configuration folder. Greg Rewis wrote up a helpful blog post that details this process: http://blog.assortedgarbage.com/2011/05/updating-jquery-in-dreamweaver-cs5-5/
I haven't run into any issues with the newer stable versions (i.e. jQm 1.1.0 and jQ 1.7.1/1.7.2).
If you do, though, we'd like to hear about it: http://adobe.ly/DWBug

  • In Adobe dreamweaver CS6 where can I find the hotspot tool [title edited by moderator]

Boss in an Adobe dreamweaver CS6 where i can find the hotspot tool

    Hello,
my way is (all comands translated from my German DW):
    1. Insert an image
    2. Click into the image
    3. Menu for the hotspot tools opens (see screenshot, where I used "Polygon")
    4. Click into the image (see screenshot) > Give an "alt" for your image, if you want.
    5. Make your wished figure:
    6. And in your code you now will see something like:
    <p><img src="../images/grafik07-300.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="225" usemap="#Map"/>
      <map name="Map">

  • How can I find (or at least get specs of) Dreamweaver CS6 layouts in Dreamweaver CC?

    Hello!
I'm a student taking a course in web design, and many of our assignments require that I use liquid layouts from Dreamweaver CS6. The problem is that I have Dreamweaver CC (which cut out many of the templates), and buying the older version for this class seems silly.
Does anyone know where I can find the standard set of CS6 layouts to download? If not, does anyone know where I could at least find specs on those layouts? I'm proficient at coding and web scripting, but I don't want to be docked class points because I set a width to 75% instead of 80% or used an inconsistant class name.
    Thank you for your help!

If you have DWCC, you can also install DWCS6 for free as part of your CC Subscription...
    http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/download-previous-versions-creative-applications. html
FWIW, DWCC removes those old layouts because they were viewed as either redundant (since they were just variations of a base layout) and/or not current HTML standards compliant.
You can download DWCS6 and have access to all of them, open one, save it into your site and switch back to DWCC if you like.
As far as I know, they can't be added back into DWCC, but you get both programs as a CC subscriber, they just don't run at the same time.

  • Where can I find a link to Dreamweaver CS6 trial?

I need to try Dreamweaver CS6 but cannot find the link. Any supposed link goes to Dreamweaver CC
As an aside, I have been 'chatting' with Adobe support for over 30 minutes and they cannot answer the question.  <sigh>

Have a look at the link below, scroll down to the box of download links (I don't know it they work but you can try)
Download Adobe CS6 Trials: Direct Links (no Assistant or Manager) | ProDesignTools
Read the instructions above the download link box otherwise it won't work.

  • I can't find the image object menu item when trying to add an image placeholder in dreamweaver cs6

I am new to dreamweaver, and am walking through some tutorials.  I can't seem to find the image object menu item to place a image placeholder on my page.  Any suggestions?  Do I have a setting that is currently hiding its visibility?  Thanks  (I am currently working with dreamweaver cs6)

They removed it in the new Cloud version of DW CS6.

I am missing Insert options in Dreamweaver CS6. Where do I find header and navigation?

A lot changed between DWCS6 and DWCS6 Cloud. You need to make sure you are using tutorials/resources built for Version 12.0x.
IIRC, "Structure" is the new name for "Layout"
Dreamweaver Help | Removed features | Dreamweaver CC
EDIT: Development of the perpetual license version of DWCS6 has stopped. There is no way to add that into the version of the program you have. To get those options, you would need a Cloud Subscription where you can get DWCS6 Cloud, DWCC and DWCC2014.x (all three can be installed at the same time, they just won't run at the same time).

  • Dreamweaver CS6 Crashes w/Find Feature

All of a sudden my Dreamweaver CS6 started crashing when I use the Find feature.
I use a MacBook Pro 10.9.3 w/8GB RAM and I have plenty of space available on my Boot Drive.
I have done the normal things that Mac users do to clear PRAM and other measures, however it isn't helping.
And apparently it's only with the Find Feature. I do use this feature a lot when dealing with looking through code with a lot of lines.
Dreamweaver on my computer is fully updated and so is the computer's software.
I am going to install Dreamweaver CC to see if this fixes this issue.
However I really need to know if there is any others with the same issue or not, and if there's a fix or not.
    I do have Creative Cloud.
Also I read that Mac is no longer going to be supporting Java.....

Have you tried clearing the program cache/renaming the personal Config folder as of yet? This will catch all kinds of weird "just started happening" issues...
    Deleting a corrupted cache file
If that does nothing, restoring preferences to factory default can clear up issues with extension conflicts that cause weird behaviors...
    http://helpx.adobe.com/dreamweaver/kb/restore-preferences-dreamweaver-cs4-cs5.html
You can have both programs installed simultaneously, as I'm sure you've noticed, but if you still have issues with DWCS6 after doing the above, a full clean reinstall using the Adobe Cleaner Tool will generally fix it...
Use the CC Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems | CC, CS3-CS6
If none of the above do anything, try creating a new admin level user account and see if the program functions. I've seen it a few times here in the forum with Macs where the new user account brings the program back from unstable/unusable.

  • Dreamweaver CS6 cannot find Widget Browser

Dreamweaver CS6 gives me the error message "Unable to launch D:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Widget Browser\Adobe Widget Browser.exe"
The file is actually located in C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Widget Browser\
This is a Windows 7 x64 system.  Dreamweaver was installed via Creative Cloud, the majority of which is installed in D:\Program Files\Adobe\
Is there a setting that I can change so that DW is able to find the Widget Browser?
    Thanks,
    Stivan

Hey I was facing the same error. You just need to download the widget browser from below link:
    http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/widgetbrowser.html
Then install it to the "C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Widget Browser\" folder.
    And it get work fine.
If you install the file to different location then it won't work.

  • "Could not find  Dreamweaver Fluid Grid style sheet error" in Dreamweaver CS6

I have error in Adobe Dreamweaver CS6 which is part of the Creative Suite 6 Master Collection.
Error  was when I trying to use "rubber" <div> layout: "Could not find  Dreamweaver Fluid Grid style sheet". When I clicked on the button in the  sidebar, in the new document.

#1 Go to File > New FluidGrid Layout > select 3rd item > Hit Create button.  See screenshots.
#2  DW will prompt you for a file name and location for your new FluidGrid.css file.  Give your style sheet a name without spaces or special characters eg. MyFluidGrid.css.  Save.
#3 From the SourceCode tag, hit Ctrl+S to Save your HTML Page.  DW will set the corrected path to your external files:
    MyFluidGrid.css
    boilerplate.css
    respond.js
That's all there is to it.

  • Where can I find my settings file in Dreamweaver CS6?

I was given a brand new computer two days ago by our IT staff.  They were kind enough to load all of my software onto the hard drive.  However, they did not migrate any of my settings over and now I have a problem.  All of my ftp information for my website was on the old hard drive, but I need to have all of that information to set up the new hard drive.
Can anyone point me in the proper direction?
    Ubiquitous information:
    Dreamweaver CS6 v 12.0 Build 5808
    Windows 7 OS
Thanks in advance for any help you can offer!!

Without access to the actual DW program that used to be installed, you're going to be stuck manually adding your FTP when you re-create your site definitions for the new installation.
