Finder search bug? No results if 'Search' field is blank.

I can't determine if this is a bug or is simply a change in Finder search behavior (for the worse, IMO) in 10.8.
In the Finder, when I select 'File>>Find' (or hit ⌘-F) and then select the current folder from the top of the search parameters, no files appear in the search results if the 'Search' (for filename) field at the top of the window is blank even though the only other search parameter is 'Kind is Any'.
If I enter text in the 'Search' field, matching results start to appear.
In 10.7, I saw different behavior. In the absence of text in the Search field, the Finder would simply return results matching the other parameters and ignore the Search field.
With the new behavior, there doesn't seem to be any way to construct a saved search based solely on other parameters (kind, date, file label, etc) without specifying some filename parameter as well. Of course, I can work around the problem by using something like 'NOT xxx!@#$%' in the Search field, but this approach is klugy at best.
Anyone else see this? Bug? Deliberate change in Finder behavior?

Yes the report ESH_TEST_SEARCH returns no material.
So should I suspend the indexing and reschedule with with real time indexing ? I am not sure whether we choose real time indexing in the first time.
What about the authorizations, I see USER_AUTHORITY object is activealready.

Finder Search brings no Result, when search network drives.

Hello,
I am a big time user of search (or spotlight) on my Macintosh and I have been using for years and through all the updates. I loved the recent updates to spotlight and I was able to search not only my HD but also the network drives where all of our files are located on an Mac Server.
I am the IT person of this small graphic design firm and everyone in our office work on files that are located on a Mac Server. We only keep the applications on our own client computers.
Spotlight or (search) was function perfectly up to a few weeks ago but recently when I need to search something on our Signage A, Signage B, Signage C or Print A, Print B or Print C, drives where we keep our files. The search does not bring no result. This is a problem not only with my computer but there are a few computers in the office with the same problem.
My question is what can I do to resolve this problem and be able to search again on my network drives where I keep all the files we are working on. If this function is no longer available with spotlight or search box of the finder window. Is there another software we can use to search for files and folders on our server.
Since there are a few people working on the same files sometimes when the files are moved it makes it difficult for the next person to find them, in that kind of situation search was working wonderfully and I need for that to work again.

Solr search returns 0 results if search phrase is in double quotes

sI have one search result that looks like this:

Escaping the quotes didn't help .I already read the solr search examples by Adobe but that didn't help me much. I don't know if this is documented in the CF documentation anywhere (I couldn't find it). What I worked for me after looking at the Apache Solr documentation was that you need to add "+" in between the words in the phrase:

Expecting my users to enter "+" is a bit much but I know they can handle putting double quotes about phrases they want an exact match for. Product search return no result when searching the root folder.

Searching any sub-folder works as expected.

As per the documentation (see below), you have to enter the manufacturer number also. You cannot leave it blank and also you should activate the corresponding MARA index by manufacturer part number.
Manufacturer and manufacturer part number
Description
This parameter is used to determine a material from the number of a manufacturer and manufacturer part number.
To use this parameter for selection, activate the corresponding index in the table MARA.
Value range
The field MANU_MAT must contain the manufacturer part number.
The field MFR_NO must contain the number of a manufacturer.
A value must always be entered in both fields. It is not possible to search generically.

No result if one field is blank

Hi all,
in my module pool screen i have 4 input fields (no selection or ranges, its like parameters). To get the value based on that i am using this query.
SELECT *
          FROM LTAK
          INTO TABLE GT_LTAK
          WHERE LGNUM = GV_LGNUM
          AND   KQUIT NE 'X'
          AND   BNAME = LV_BNAME
          AND   BWLVS = LV_BWLVS
          AND   BENUM = LV_BENUM.
If i fill all these 4 values i am getting the output. If i leave a field blank i dont get the result.
Can anyone please help me.

Hi,
Create the ranges and pass to the where condintion to the select instead of the parameters.
If you pass the blank in the parameters then the select will check with blank values in the table instead if you use the ranges then blank values will not be considered in the selection.

SQL Query -How2bring multiple results into one field using Formatted Search

Hi Everyone
i am trying to bring in the results of the field dbo.Lot_ITEM.LOT using a formatted search into a row level using the following query:
SELECT     dbo.LOT_ITEM.LOT
FROM       dbo.DLN1 INNER JOIN dbo.LOT_ITEM ON dbo.DLN1.ItemCode = dbo.LOT_ITEM.ITEM
WHERE     dbo.LOT_ITEM.ITEM=$[DLN1.ItemCode]
however the result of the dbo.Lot_ITEM.LOT field could be more then one value depending on how many lots are assigned for that item
(for example this query would be similar to assigning batch/serial numbers to an item being despatched - as you can choose multiple batches/serials depending on the quantities available and required and then move from the left to the right side of the selection window) if that makes sense!
is it possible to bring in the multiple results into one field? and how can i amend the above query to include this?

just to simplify it (as the query im working with is to do with 3rd party addons) i have used the serial/batchs field instead and used standard demo database fields from SBO 2005 sp01:

i think as what im originally wanting an answer for is same as this example, im wanting to know if this is even possible?

RoboHelp HTML 9 Search Pane Max results controls

RoboHelp HTML 9 with WebHelp as output...
I have a two part question. By default when our users do a search in compile dhelp, they see 10 search results per page. Is there a place in my RoboHelp interface where I can change that to larger number? I have found a line of code in a *.js file where it looks like I could manually change it, but would prefer not to have to do it that route in case that causes unintended hiccups elsewhere.

Second part of my question is related to statement in release notes/new features notes for RoboHelp 9 that state users can control the max search results per page on-the-fly as they use the Search pane. This feature only applies to WebHelp or WebHelp Pro and my output is WebHelp. I can see a line of code for that feature in the whfform.htm file but nothing shows up like that in the Search pane within compiled help. Is this a bug or is there a control somewhere in RoboHelp project settings that allows me to enable that option for users? The last 2 lines below would seem to control this area. The Search pane items referenced in first 4 lines do show up ok in my Search pane.

I know this is an old topic, but I was trying to figure this out myself today and finally found it. In case others have been looking for this, it's in in this file:
whform.js
find this variable:
var gnMaxRslt = 10;
and then change the 10 to the number you want.
If you do that in the generated help, the number will change in the Search pane, but it will still display only 10 results. To get it to actually display more than 10 results, I had to edit the RoboHelp file, not the generated help. I made a copy of C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe RoboHelp 10\RoboHTML\WebHelp5Ext\template_stock\whform.js before I edited it. (Right-click the file, click Copy, then right-click in the folder and click Paste. Edit the one that doesn't say Copy in the filename. Then if you want to back it out, delete the one you edited and remove Copy from the original.) If you have your project open in RoboHelp, close it, then reopen it so it can "grab" the new info.
This ought to be in the WebHelp Setting dialog box on the Search pane.

How do I set Google as the default search engine in the URL search field (now have Yahoo)?

I'd like Firefox to use Google as the default search engine for the URL search field, instead of Yahoo as I currently have. I've tried to find a place to reset this in Preferences but can't find a solution. Would be very grateful for any advice. Imagine it's simple.
NB: I'm talking of the left search field, not the right search engine one where it's easy enough to define.

You can reset the prefs general.useragent.override and keyword.URL on the about:config page.

Search bug with dutch language.

Yesterday, I ran into a basic search bug.
I create a dutch content area, and place a text item on it. When I search for the title of this item zero results are found.
When I place an item on an english CA (voorbeeldinhoudsgebied=sample content area), the search works fine.
I've logged a TAR and bug 1679678 is created.
Does anybody know a workaround for this problem?
I've done no testing on other languages.

Searches using google search or bing search wind up at pay search results. why is this happening

Find the name of the search help to whcih you want to add tab.You can do this by using F1 and technical setting key.After finding the name go to that search help and add your newly created search help to the existing one.After adding to the existing searchhelp write code in search help exit.

Sorry Vadim, but the procedure to reproduce the bug is different:
1) Open the Reports tab
2) Expand Data Dictionary node
3) Expand PLSQL node
4) Click on Search Source Code
5) Select a Connection
6) Click on Text Search, enter a string to search and click Apply
7) On the results page, right-click any line and select Go To <package name>
8) The package opens on line 1, not the line shown on step 7
While we're at it, do you think it would be possible to make the above process more user-friendly? Like, for example, right-clicking on a Connection and have the Search Source Code option there (that would take me directly to step 6)?

The transaction was written in a parameter, called p_trans.
I've the Tables AGR_1251, AGR_AGRS and AGR_USERS.

Here is my question:
In my code are question marks...here i want to say, that my transaction lays between the fields LOW and HIGH.
But how can i say, that in WHERE.
I have to say... Search that agr_name, where object = s_tcode, field=tcd and where my transaction lies between.
For example: low is T and high is X and i have the transaction va21.
So i must find out, in which range lays ma transaction.

Hi Marcel,
You are mentioning it as a parameter between having low & high values. Is it a parameter or select option.
If its a parameter, then anyway it will have only single value at any point of time.
If its a select option, then you need to use
select * from
and tcode in s_tcode.
