Finder Search problems with contractions

The finder search seems to have issues with contractions.
If I search for the song title "I Don't Want To Lose You", I get nothing. If I search for "want to lose you" then it works. VERY frustrating to have to alter search especially when I have thousands of songs to search through.
Anyone else?

Find filter problem with Adobe CS6 and Mavericks

Hi to all!
I've 2 new MacPro with OSX 10.9 (is no possible to downgrade) with Adobe Illustrator CS6 and all software are full updated at the last version.
Firs of all I've found a problem after a last firmware update of my 2 MacPro, in samba connection, solved by AFP implement; in detail:
I've a Qnap storage with samba and afp shares, so when I connect the samba share the search function in finder not find any, but if I connect the same share via AFP protocol, all works good.
Ok, it's a problem but no so bad for me because I've the possibility to use AFP ;-)
Ok, now the big problem:
when I use the CS5 Illustrator and I execute the "insert" command, the search window show blank screen in the search area if I select a qnap sared folder (AFP or SAMBA shared get the same result, 0 element found)
After many and many tests I've solved with a workaround: I've forced the Finder to index the shared folder (from the command line in the console) and in this case I've no more problem...
The problem affect only the afp and samba share, with the local folder (volumes) I don't have any problem.
So, I can't downgrade Maveriks, and I'm sure the problem is not of CS6... then my only solution is to wait a future update of Mavericks?! or anyone can suggest me a solution?

As for Photoshop CS6 itself, I have no issues running
it on Mavericks on my 2011 Mini Server.
Also, before upgrading, make sure any drivers for third
party hardware are up to date and compatible with Mavericks.

After making sure that all services are up and running, I had to deactive and activate the "SharePoint Server Site Search" web site collection feature. Then the search started working for the time being.
However, it throws the error again after 8 to 9 hours. This has been happening for last couple of weeks. I also came to know from my windows server team that they moved the AD from one place to another. Since then I am having this issue.
The log file has the following error:

Location search problem with iPhone map

I am posting this to see if anybody else have the same problem, and hopeful a solution as well.
The problem is that iPhone map started from a 3ird party software does not use my current location by default. For example, I did a search for pizza in google search. The google app will give me a list of local pizza places in their page. But if I click on show all results, it brings up the map app and displays a few pizza places around the world. But shouldn't it give me results in my local area instead? At first, I thought this is a google problem. But I see the same problem later with another voice search app. Have anyone experience this with their iPhone?

Soptlight search problem with Mail

Remember about deleted text message that appear on spotlight search on iOS 6.1.3 but that not matter anymore cause it been fix on iOS 7. Unfortunately new problem has just been discover whether it just on my iPhone or everyone have it. Thing goes like this... I like reply my friend facebook comment using email. So when I reply that comment it consider it as (sent) email. I delete that sent email and it just appear in spotlight search. I try to open it(from spotlight search), yes it still can be open in Email but cannot delete it, cause it been deleted before. So any idea about this problem or solution? #TakeNote My friend with iOS 6.1.3 also have the same problem.

I had the same problem - it just started a few days ago. Resetting PRAM (by restarting with command-option-P-R held down) solved the problem.

Boolean Search problem with the "&" character

I need to perform a Boolean search and include names such as "John Wiley & Sons", "R & D", for example, that have the "&" character in it. The problem is that Acrobat considers the character "&" as an "AND". I have tried to use "\&" but it didn't work. Does someone know if it is possible to consider "&" as a character, instead of a logical operator, in a Boolean search, and if yes, how?

Search problem with iDS5.1sp1

Let's say I have an entry uid=anne.clark. With the version 4.16, I had no result returned when I was searching with the filter '(uid=anne.clark\0a)'. Now, with the latest version, the server is returning the anne.clark entry. Is that a bug or there is a configuration I can set to avoid this?

Finder - Search Problems?

Hi There,
Before I upgraded to Lion I was able to search for keywords within files within Finder and it would show me which file it was from. For example, if I had codes within an excel file, I could search for the specific code and then Finder would tell me which file it was from. When I search the same where now, it does not work. Even when I go in and select "Contents" from the drop down menu.
What am I doing wrong? It was such an amazing feature I'd like to know how to start using it again.

After installing, reboot holding down CMD+s, (+s), then when the DOS like prompt shows, type in...

Then let it do all 5 of it's things.
At least it'll eliminate some questions if it doesn't fix it.
The 6 things it does are...
Correct any Disk problems.
Repair Permissions.
Clear out Cache Files.
Repair/check several plist files.
Dump the VM files for a fresh start.
Trash old Log files.
First reboot will be slower, sometimes 2 or 3 restarts will be required for full benefit... my guess is files relying upon other files relying upon other files!
Disconnect the USB cable from any UPS so the system doesn't shut down in the middle of the process.

Find/Search app with hierarchical results?

Anyone know of a search application that gives results in an hierarchical order?
I know the most recent version of Find-Any-File does this, but unfortunately it is far too slow when thousands of files are involved.
An excellent old app that I used many years ago with OS Classic was UltraFind... but unfortunately I have not seen anything comparable since.
It would probably have to work with Spotlight in order to be quick.
Does anyone know of such an application?

But this does not allow keyboard navigation in the drop down. you would have to select using a mouse pointer

Problem with contract and service not matching... no help by phone or in stores

My contract says 4gb shared plan, my bill says FamilyShare1400... 15+hours in person and on the phone and lots of promises but the bottom line is I AM NOT IN THE PLAN I CONTRACTED! My bill has been more expensive, my services deleted and I was charged for what should have been included. 26 January is when this all started.... problems pulling a 'stupid phone' off my account made it impossible to put me into the 4gb shared plan (Excuse #1 - and I've heard many more in the multiple calls to VW) Every agent makes Promises Promises... Every agent ASSURES me that they have taken care of it, and it will be corrected - and that they will put notes on the account so anyone looking at it will KNOW what had happened... Today I'm told that there are NO NOTES!! I'm ready to walk away from VW - a relationship since the early 1990s means nothing to them..... How can I get my service straightened out, guaranteed? How can I get VW to take some responsibility for their inept handling of this customer? 15+hours because VW doesn't do their job is 14.5 hours too long!

There were two issues I saw, when I changed them it worked!

My early '06 iMac won't boot, just clicks with question mark on screen. SMC reset, Pram reset can bring it up, works OK for a day or two, then back to no boot. disk utility finds no problem with disk

anytime I get it to boot, it works for a day or two then goes back to the Question mark screen.

Hi! It could be HD issue. You should back up your data in the computer first when you can boot to normal desktop. boot to install disk to run disk utility - if it got error over there, you should bring the computer to repair centre to fix it. You also could try to erase with zero out and install again And see will that be fix the issue!

File Share Search problem with Compress file

I have a content source in SharePoint 2013 search which crawl files from a file share. Some of the files have "Compress contents to save disk" attribute set to true.
These files are being crawled as I can see them in Crawl logs. But when I search for these documents in search center, it only return the documents which don't have compression attribute set. I have even tried searching document title. Any idea?

As your description, I set a file as the below:
Then I created a File Share content source pointed to the folder which contains the file, then start a full crawl.
After crawling, I went to my search center, and searched, the result was:
When you search the compressed file, check whether the item title returns a part of the content of the document.
