Finder Sider Side Bar - "Shared" Items Keeps Refreshing

I have an iMac where the Finder side bar "Shared" Items (other Macs on the LAN and a Time Capsule) keep refreshing. In other words, it disappears for a split second and then reappears every 120 seconds or so. Bonjour refresh, me thinks. This happens on both ethernet and WiFi.
I have replaced the Time Capsule - at first thinking this was the issue. I have also removed the sidebar.plist file. Both with no success.
Any thoughts? Search criteria turned up little.

I appreciate you taking the time to look. My 3 macs are now displaying only other Leopard computers. The strange ones have disappeared. One strange listing did look like my airport express base station. I have a 2nd express airport which servers to play my itunes. I, also, have two PCs on a Linksys wireless network and a wireless printer on my airport network.
Have no idea why the strange additions have disappeared. In an attempt to get them to disappear, I did shut down & restart each computer (Macs & PCs), unplugged and replugged both express airports, turned off then on the printer, and unplugged and replugged the linksys wireless router connected to my DSL modem. My goal was to isolate the equipment causing the strange listings. No luck. Could only modify the strange listing by totally taking down the wireless network at the DSL modem. Then, after returning from working at a client's; everything looked normal. ?????

Finder sidebar connection to 'shared' server keeps failing

I'm on the same network being managed by Windows Small Business Server 2011, and I'm running Lion. I was always able to connect to the server via the sidebar in finder no problem. Yesterday our internal firewall wacked out and everyone lost connection to the server/internet. It took a few hours to get the firewall restored, and now I can't connect to the server anymore via the sidebar. All the 'shared' listing show up that are supposed to, and I can connect to ones that I wasn't connected to at the time the firewall went down, but I can't connect to the server now. I ran the Consol app and tried connecting, here's the error that showed up 'SharePointBrowser::handleOpenCallBack returned 61'. The popup either shows one of two messages on any given try:
'Check the server name or IP address, and then try again. If you continue to have problems, contact your system administrator.'
OR
'This file server will not allow any additional users to log on. Try to connect again later.'
Is there a way to just 'reset' these connections or something, or clear some cache and make it think its the first time again? It seems like it panicked once it lost connection and maybe something got corrupt? There's another Mac on the network (iMac also running Lion) that this is happening to as well. Any help is greatly appreciated, I've tried a ton of things from searching online with no success. Oh, I should mention that I am able to connect to it via Go->Connect to Server and using the IP address or the hostname. Just not from the sidebar anymore.

Same here. I just hired a new employee a few weeks ago and she's spent more time watching the spinning beach ball of death than putting in billing hours! Happens when the laptops are on the ethernet connection or wireless, worse with wireless. With so many projects and multiple people working on them it is impractical and illogical to drag files onto multiple computers. This all worked just fine before. I've wasted so much time trying to work around this and it's wasting so much $$ a day it's making me crazy. Hello Apple, pretty please......

Server-Side Wins with Shared Maps

We are using shared maps/publication items in our solution. Using this approach, the MGP process composes the set of publications items once for each group of users instead of once for each user. This helps a great deal in reducing MGP-compose times.
What we are looking to implement however is server-side conflict resolution with shared maps. Oracle does not support this by deafult, so we were told write custom conflict resolution for this to work.
As it stands now, we have written custom DML for the conflict resolution. However, in the apply-phase we are only given the group-id for the current sync user. What we need, however, is the client-id of the current sync user.
Using the client-id, we can check to see if the client (and not the entire group) has any dirty records in the out-queue. If there are dirty records, then the server wins and the conflict-records are not applied.

shared items have the same selection criteria for all users (ie: no data subsetting). Therefore the same data is composed and placed in the out queue for each user that is part of the group.
I assume you are trying to check if there is a copy of the incoming record waiting to go to the the user, so you can compare the data on update. The problems you may have with this are
1) data being present in the out queue (or not) depends as much on when the last compose ran, as the fact that the data has changed (can you hand on heart guarantee that the compose will have run if the user sends an update within a half an hour of the server being changed.
2) the same record (because it is shared) may have been downloaded to a number of different clients. What will you do if they all send back updates?
normally shared items are used for reference data (ie: static), but if you want to use them in this way it may be better to do your conflict tests against the actual underlying data, rather than what is stored in the MGP temporary tables. This will provide more consistent results as it does not rely on the timing of the compose process, and will be consistent for each user transaction
You know which publication item is being processed. From mobileadmin.C$all_publications you can pick up the schema name, object name and template query. You can then use this to compare the current server data against the incoming data

Ok. I'm stumped. The right side scroll bar on my pages documents disappears sometimes. I don't know how to restore that function. If I widen the page field, it will appear for a short time. Very annoying if I am just using trackpad. What to do?

I've tried closing and reopening and restarting my macbook pro. If I widen the right side, I get the scroll bar for just a few seconds and then if fades away. The scroll bar is consistent with the Full Screen approach in trying to maximize the working area of your screen. The scroll bar fades to make room for data. So, use your 2-fingered scroll or arrow keys for short moves. If you have a long way to scroll, the scroll bar will activate any time you scroll with the trackpad or the arrow keys and you can grab it and pull it to your desired position in the document.

The scroll bar is now set to appear automatically when you start scrolling with a trackpad or scroll wheel mouse. If you are using an mouse without a scrolling device, you should change a setting.

I need to find the SID of a form session. How to find the same.
Eg:- If a user connected to our EBS system, Then automatically one sid will be generated to that user. I need to find the SID for this user. If given detailed steps it would be great help.

Difficult to Rename Files (Finder windows keep Refreshing)

Has anyone else noticed how difficult it is to rename files in a folder? It is almost as if Leopard's Finder keeps refreshing (or building thumbnails) or something. Here is my scenario:
- Browse to a folder (in my case a folder with large files)
- Hit enter on a file and start renaming the file
- After 1-2 seconds, finder jumps out of edit mode by itself (as if the page somehow refreshed)
- Hit enter again and keep on editing
- 1-2 seconds later, jumps out of edit mode again.
- Leave the window for 20-30 seconds
- Then hit enter, then it is easy to rename the file.
- Thereupon, immediately try to edit the next file, and bam, it exits edit mode after 1-2 seconds (almost as if the previous file rename triggered a 'refresh this entire view' event)
It is incredibly annoying to attempt to rename a bunch of files with Leopard.

Ah - I cant seem to get into the habit of "get info" to rename my files. It seems counter productive.
Is there any other workaround / fix to make the finder stop jumping me out of renaming a file?
It is incredibly annoying. I will get a few characters typed in, and it will jump out of editing... and then to add insult to injury, the folders is updated and the file jumps to its new alphabetical location in the list - So I have to go find the partially named file to finish the job.
People ask me if I like Windows or Mac. I say both have benefits and weaknesses. Renaming files is one of my Mac's weaknesses - it seems. It shouldn't be - it is a basic part of an operating system.

Cant see the page links text in my main & side navigation bars

I published my site to Mme yesterday and I have noticed a few problems have come up. The main problem is my main and side navigation bars. In the top nav bar you cant see all the page links text, they should show up in white. I can only see them when you roll over the page name (this is in grey) and that is the rollover colour. Not sure what to do to get the text colour to stay white all the time so it is always seen once it's been clicked. It just disappears, but is still there if you roll over it
My side nav bar, the text should also all be white and when you roll over it turns red. For some reason when you click on the page link it turns grey and stays grey. I also want the page links to stay white once clicked on

ITune side scroll bars won't scroll when up or down arrow held

This is a problem, only in iTunes. My side scroll bars stopped working. When I push arrow up or down, they barely budge. I have to manually slide the bar.
I want my scroll bar function back. Thanks for your help.

Finder keeps refreshing

Hey everybody,
I recently installed a new SSD hard in my Macbook Pro, replacing the optical drive. I did this because I ran out of space on the original HHD of 250gb, and my mac actually turned itself off and would not boot back up. I installed a Kingston SH103S3120G media SSD. I followed the youtube tuts about how to do and now my computer reads and knows the SSD is there.
My Problem:
Since I did that, my finder windows, icons on the desptop and my dock keeps refreshing. It re-launches everything also every minute. That means I can't transfer files from one window to another, not to mention move large file off my main HDD to my SSD.
Did I do something wrong. Please help me out.

Do you have Google Drive installed? It can cause this type of behavior.
