Finder sorts icons without request

I had ordered the icons in a folder to my likes and then saved some files (from mail) in this folder.
after opening the folder in the finder again to arrange the newly added icons all icons where ordered by name
I had seen this before and annoyed me a lot.
I am running Os X Mavericks 10.9 (Dutch localisation)
Has anyone had this problem?
Is there something to do to prevent it?

What do you have as a preference for viewing your files in Finder?

View > Arrange By, and then choose a way of ordering items (for example, choose Name for alphabetical order). Option for None is also available.
To set the default view options for most windows on your Mac, open the window for your internal disk (usually named Macintosh HD), then follow the steps to set defaults.

We have a scenario in our application where all the sorting has to be handled by the web services and the client just needs to show the sorted data in an Advanced Data Grid.
The web services though returns details for the column on which it is being sorted and also the sort order i.e. ASC or DESC. So based on the same we need to simply show a ASC or DESC icon on the specified column header.
We tried different options, but it seems the sort icons only show up when sorting is actually applied to the collection. But since the sorting is to be dealt with from the web services, it is not possible to apply sorting on the client side as it may result is differentiating data.
So, can anyone please suggest a solution for this.

How to eject my camera when i can't find an icon for it

I want to eject my camera from my macbook pro but I can't find an icon on my dock, or in the computor section of my finder. I therefore don't know how to eject it since i can't drag it into the trash or select eject from the list of options since there is no icon that i can find of my camera on there! Does anyone know how i can safely eject it? I also keep on putting memory cards into my macbook pro and then taking them out without ejecting them - is that a bad idea? If so then I don't know how to eject them either since i can't find them on my computor either!
My ipod doesn't come up as an icon on my dock either, it just comes up in itunes - is there some way of causing icons to pop up on the dock?

Forms - Icons without jar file

Hi!
I´m trying con configure my standalone weblogic (10.3.6), running in development mode,
to find my forms 11 applications icons without use a jar file.
So, at formsweb.cfg i changed imageBase to documentBase and at Registry.dat i set
default.icons.iconpath=/img/
default.icons.iconextension=gif
Now I´m trying to map /img/ to may local directory (/img/ -> C:\repo\img)
I tried to change httpd.conf and didn´t work. When I access http://localhost:7001/img/myimage.gif, it returns 404.
Alias /img/ "C:\repo\img\"

    AllowOverride None
    Order allow,deny
    Allow from all
</Directory>
Then, i tried to change forms.conf
AliasMatch /img/(..*) "C:\repo\img\$1"
But No change at all.

If you chose the "Development" install type you will not have OHS although you might have its config file (httpd.conf). Further, creating an Alias in WLS is a little more painful than doing it in OHS. My recommendation is that you keep it simple for testing. You can use an existing Alias and extend it. For example consider the Forms \java directory (e.g.
C:\Oracle\Middleware\Oracle_FRHome1\forms\java)
Simply add a sub-directory to it and store your images there. In the form, simply reference the complete image name without a path. For example: myimage.jpg. Then in the Registry.dat include the virtual path to the images. So, here are the steps.
1. Create a sub-directory C:\Oracle\Middleware\Oracle_FRHome1\forms\java\images
2. Copy your images to this directory
3. In the form, refer to the images by name only. If your images use a different extension from what is stored in Registry.dat, include the extension in the form. If the extension is the same then ommit it.
4. In Registry.dat, set default.icons.iconpath=/forms/java/images/ (be sure to include the trailing slash)
5. On the client machine, close all open browsers and open the Java Control Panel. Clear the jar cache ("Temporary Internet Files")
Your done. Because the form does not have a hard coded path to the images, you can easily move the forms to production without worrying about the need to change the code to handle the image location.
Oh, one last thing.... If you are using a newer JRE version you will get a securty warning suggesting that there may be unsafe code being executed. It will then ask if you want to Block or Don't Block. This dialog is the result of retrieving your image from a source other than the applet jar. You will need to select Don't Block in order for it to work correctly. This is another reason why we (Oracle) recommend using signed jar files.

Sort Icon/option in ALV tree repot using classes and methods

I have done an alv tree report using the class cl_gui_alv_tree
and i need to let users re-sort the report by using a sort icon(as visible in a normal alv report).Is there any possibility to create an icon and set the functionality such that the entire tree structure gets resorted depending upon the sort criteria?Please give me an example of doing so if there is an option.

JTable - custom JTableHeader with UP, DOWN sorting icon

Hi Ashish,
In Table properties once you map any method to onSort event, the sort icons will appear automatically. But in your case its not working. I suggest you check the portal theme you are using.
If you manage to get the icon deom some where
To set the icon go to Theme Editor >Complex Elements>Tables--> Under Sort Icons you can browse for the icons and set it.
Where you can find the icon ?
Under Theme Editor --> Theme Transport --> Under Export theme. You can download your theme from here, unzip and look for the icon under "YourThemeFolder\ur.zip\common\tableview"
Please try this if you are unble to find the icon, let me know

Finder sorts files as Kind not correct

Please help me. I recently purchased a new MBA 13" running ML. When put Finder to view files as Kind, it separates files as movies, documents and PDF files etc. But it seems to cannot differentiate between images files and other documents. It combines all images and other documents such as zip files and word documents as the same types while this does not happen before. I tried view setting to sort by None, then sort by Kind again it still combines images with other docs.
I tried restarting, relaunch Finder and reset spotlight index it doesn't help.
Please help me.

You are not "sorting," you are "arranging."
An arrangement is a grouping. You can sort within arrangements, or you can sort without arranging.
The menu and button displays the arrangement options when you click it. To select sort options, hold down the option key and click same button/menu item.
You can see both at same time in the View Options dialog.
If you set arrangement to "None," you can set a Sort option without any grouping.
I'm on an iPad for the moment, so I can't check how it groups, but it may just group as "Documents," not as specific types of documents.
Try just sorting by setting the Arrangement to "None," then set the Sort to "Kind."

Unable to capture the adf table column sort icons using open script tool

I am new to OATS and I am trying to create script for testing ADF application using open script tool. I face issues in recording two events.
1. I am unable to record the event of clicking adf table column sort icons that exist on the column header. I tried to use the capture tool, but that couldn't help me.
2. The second issue is I am unable to capture the panel header text. The component can be identified but I was not able to identify the supporting attribute for the header text.

Have a company based itunes account, trying to share itunes on bank owned devices. can't get all devices to keep our shared password on them without requesting user to enter password (which i am not giving them)

i am an IT manager for a bank. we have several company owned iphones. WE have also implemented a mobile device management system to manage our iphones.
We setup acompany based itunes account, trying to share itunes on bank owned devices. This way i can add bank approved apps to the devices through our itunes account and push out to the iphones, and no one can download any other non bank approved apps.
it has been working ok. but recently i had one user who came in. He went to enter in his itunes account on the phone and didn't work. So then came back and my staff and myself have (as much as we can see) removed his email account itunes login from all sections in settings. and entered in our itunes account information, but when you go to the app store, and hit upgrade, it still shows his email account for itunes. I feel like i can't get all devices to keep our shared password on them without requesting user to enter password (which i am not giving them)
How can i troubleshoot his device. i tried changing password 5 times today, rebooted device, and no change.

i have an MDM application, and i push out the apps i want them to have with our IT apple id account. for some reason when two approved apps needed updating last week, they prompted him for our password. (which i told him to bring phone in and i would enter password).
but somehow he went to try to enter his personal to make it work (don't know why)

there is nothing in icloud b/c we do not allow icloud, so that's clear.

If you are using the 2nd or 3rd gen Apple TV (little black box) then it would have no syncing or storage capability.
iTunes content would be accessed using home sharing.

However one piece of advice. I have noticed that you are raising lots of questions about very basic questions. Either you new to SAP or dont know anything about SAP Basis and want to get in this area. Or else you are preparing for some interview. In either of these cases expecting solutions given at SDN are not going to be of much help. Better read yorself in SAP Help as most people do. SDN should not be overly used for such purposes. Basic questions are welcome but you want to learn SAP through SDN !!!

On click sorting icons lost in UI table

I want to implement sorting in my UI table. I followed the following steps:
1. Created a context attribute of "TableSorter" type (used TableSorter.java)
2. Created an Action "Sort" and have written the below code in its event
wdContext.currentContextElement().getTableSorter().sort(wdEvent, wdContext.<node>);
3. In wdDoModifyView have written the below code
     if(firstTime){
         IWDTable table = (IWDTable)view.getElement(<tablename>);
         wdContext.currentContextElement().setTableSorter(new TableSorter
         (table, wdThis.wdGetSortAction(), null));
4. Assigned "Sort" action (created in step 2) to the Sort Event of the table.
After deploying the code, I can see the sort icons in the column headers but after clicking on that, its not sorting the table, also the icons are lost after their click.
Not sure what I missed in this. Please help me out.
