Finder still popping to front

Question

Just installed 10.4.10 (upgrade from 10.3.9). I'll be working in any application...Mail, Safari, In/Design and suddenly the finder will pop to the front. It seems as if it's being called by some automatic prompt or something. Noticed that it's just my "Home" folder that's popping to front. I trashed my finder preference file. It still happens. I'm about to send it to my local Mac Doctor for some diagnostic$$$ and cleaning up. Any ideas as to why this is occurring?

Two ways. One, post to the feedback page at http://www.apple.com/support/feedback/ Or, two, file a bug report via Apple's Bugreporter system. Join the Apple Developer Connection (ADC)—it's free and available for all Mac users and gets you a look at some development software. Since you already have an Apple username/ID, use that. Once a member, go to Apple BugReporter and file your bug report/enhancement request. The nice thing with this procedure is that you get a response and a follow-up number; thus, starting a dialog with engineering.

I suspect that you bought Tiger, since Leopard isn't due to ship until October. When Apple issues updates, one is an incremental that takes you from the previous version to the next (e.g., 10.4.5->10.4.6). The other is a COMBO which takes you from any previous version to this latest one (e.g., 10.4.2, 10.4.6, etc.->10.4.10). Additionally, the COMBO contains all security updates issued up to this point. So, to get the COMBO update, click on the Downloads link at the page's top and search for *10.4.10 COMBO*.
