"Finder" visual malfunction

This is the first and only issue I have had so far with Snow Leopard. I opened finder and did a search in the Spotlight of the window for "Pattern" and an error popped up and the finder went glitchy. Until this happened, Snow Leopard has worked flawlessly for me and seems to run considerably faster on my system. One of the things I notice the most is Adobe Lightroom 2 runs about 4 times faster and doesn't seem to suck the life out of the processor like it used to with Leopard.
Any Ideas?

The text is the issue. I restarted the computer and have not encountered this problem again so far. The error message came up scrambled as well, so I have no idea what it said. Honestly I am very happy that I upgraded, it seems like it opened the floodgates on processing programs.

  • Office 2011 - Can't Find Visual Basic for Applications Error

    I have recently installed Microsoft Office 2011 on my Mac and have been using the Dev tools to program macros in VB. Suddenly, it stopped loading it when I try to enter the VB workspace and throws an error stating that "Can't Find Visual Basic for Applications." The error tries to be helpful, but in a typical Microsoft way is just plain vague. Any thoughts?

    I am pteey annoyed as I bought Office 2011 pre-loaded on my new Macbook, but it did not have the VBA (which is why I wanted Offfcie rather than the free OpenOffice in the first place).
    VBA is supposedly on the Office distrbution CD, so I went through the loop of re-installing Office 2011 with the VBA option ticked. No VBA apperared. After 3 times trying the install, still no VBA. The macbook has the VBA framework file installed in the applications folder, but the clicking the editor tab in the developer tab of Excel just brings up an error massage sayng VBA is not installed.
    Not clear where to go from here. Try the Genious Bar at the local mac store?

  • Finder search malfunction

    After a reboot cause by parallels desktop crash, the finder search goes malfunction, I just saw a message shown at bottom "searching",nothing appear after keyward search like "mail".
    I've call apple care call center for help, the staff told me to use cd boot then use disk tool to repare the disk permission, but it's didn't fix my problem, can anyone help.

    I just try to use a tool mainmenu to force finder restart after system boot, then the search function in finder became work. But I think it's a temporary solution, will try find the best solution, not just restart finder after system boot.

  • Cannot find Visual Administrator

    HI All,
    Visual Administrator is supposed to be located here:
    Drive:/usr/sap/<systemID>/blabla/j2ee/admin/go.bat
    In the file structure of my server, there is no such file!!!
    Has anything changed from older versions to 7.1??
    Where can I find this damn file (go.bat) or how else can I start Visual Administrator???

    nothing has changed in the 7.1 version coz
    the path we are using is the
    D:\usr\sap\D01\DVEBMGS00\j2ee\admin\go.bat

  • Find Visual Centre of an image

    Not sure if this is possible, maybe with some maths? So possibly via applescript.
    I have a layer that is this is neck piece that you see, and you can see that the extension change makes the centre, 'off centre' or at least visually?
    How might I achieve this?
    I need to expand the canvas afterwards to create a border where the image is framed correctly as part of an automation.

    I'm just trying to break it down as the item is very similar. But I relise how if they are wrong then it simply won't work.
    Actually discecting it to work in applescript form but stuck trying to load the selection.

  • Finder Help malfunction?

    On both my MBPs, when I select "Help" in the top left menu, under Finder, and then select "Mac Help" below the Search box, the usual window pops up, labeled "Untitled" and then after a few seconds it disappears.
    If I enter anything into the Search box, then the window appears and I can use it normally.
    Anyone else have this "issue?"

  • How do I find exact duplicate photos in photoshop elements 10?

    Hello everyone,
    Just installed PSE10 on my windows 8 pro machine I got with a scanner.  I am using the organizer and I tried the find>Visual Searches>Search for Duplicate photos but I got photos that were simillar and exact.  I have a lot of exact duplicates that I want to delete, but don't want to delete the picutres that are similar.  Can I change the parameters by which PSE10 uses to restrict the output to exact duplicates?

  • SSIS script task using visual c# 2012 language when creating package in Visual Studio 2013

    Is it right or my installation was all wrong.
    When I am trying to use a script task in an SSIS package using Visual Studio 2013, the available languages are visual c# and VB 2012.
    I was expecting to find visual c# and VB 2013 since I was using Visual Studio 2013.
    I already installed the "Microsoft SQL Server Data Tools - Business Intelligence for Visual Studio 2013" available for sql 2014

    According to your description, the ScriptLanguage property of C# script tasks show "Microsoft Visual C# 2012” in SSDT-BI for VS 2013.
    After testing the issue in my environment, I can reproduce it in SSDT-BI for VS 2013. And I find that the ScriptLanguage property of C# script tasks show "Microsoft Visual C# 2010” in SSDT, and show "Microsoft Visual C# 2012” in SSDT for SSDT –
    BI for VS2012. It only appear in SSDT-BI for VS 2013.
    The issue is by design. But we can check "Do not show this again." to ignore the dialog and the task can be executed without any problem.

  • Visual Administrator in trial verison SAP Portal??

    Hi Experts.
    I install SAP Netweaver Portal (SDN_Preview_SR_5\CE71SR5), in a windows xp environment, and I cant launch the Visual Administrator, in my directory \usr\sap\CE1\J00\j2ee\ doesn't exist the admin directory,  but I find a file go.bat in the directory \usr\sap\CE1\J00\j2ee\JSPM but it launch the Java Support Package Manager.
    the question is in the Trial version of composition Environment have the visual administrator tool?

    You have downloaded the Composition Environment apparent from the folder name (SDN_Preview_SR_5\5CE71SR). Composition Environement = CE.
    I guess you wanted to download the Sneak Preview version of the portal which was available for download. SAP has removed the link to download the same last i checked. So if you have installed CE you wont find visual administration since all is available through NWA.

    Bob's solution was no solution for me, probably because after trashing those 2 PLISTs I decided to follow critichu's advice of relaunching the Finder rather than logging out or restarting.
    Let's face it.  When I have these Finder problems, I can always solve them by restarting.  But the reason I came to this forum in the first place was to find out how to prevent this from either happening again or solve it quickly so I don't need to logout or restart.
    What seems to cause Finder problems for me on a regular basis is my Time Capsule, which is connected to my 10.8.4 DuoCore iMac via Gigabit Ethernet (and shared in our office).  For whatever reason, while I am in the midst of copying files to/from the Time Capsule, the Finder will lockup with spinning beachball forever.  I have experienced this often in Adobe Illustrator too.  When saving a file from Illustrator to my Time Capsule, my entire Mac locks up and I am forced to restart.
    Anyway, the problem I have today was not caused by a document save to Time Capsule in Illustrator, but by merely copying files from my Time Capsule to my desktop.  The Finder locked up, so I tried to kill it and relaunch.  It wouldn't relaunch.  So I then started quitting all my open apps (including Illustrator and Outlook), and then mysteriously the Finder launched.
    Strangeness began though when I clicked on the Downloads folder sitting in my Dock.  I always choose "Show in Finder" when I right-click on that folder in my Dock.  But this time when I do that, I get a "Finder can't be opened" error -600.  But the Finder is already open!  However, when I hit Opt-CMD-ESC, I see two instances of the Finder in the dialog!  But in Activity Monitor, I only see one instance of the Finder.  And quitting that instance (which quits the Finder visually), still leaves one open instance inside the "Force Quit Applications" dialog!
    Yes, I've tried "killall Finder" in the Terminal, but that just gives me the following error:
    No matching processes belonging to you were found
    Is there really no rememdy for this other than to Logout or Restart?  Surely there must be.  This is getting quit painful.
    I'm also unsure when this started. I think I was still having this problem even under Lion, although exclusively in Illustrator (when saving to my Time Capsule), rather than in the Finder.
    I'm baffled.

  • Started crashing often, stopped finding stacks or people.

    Version 10 stopped finding stacks or people and started crashing all of the time. I can't manually add people, either. It throws an error message saying that the files need to be analyzed, but then still doesn't "find" them. I was looking for fixes and found information about renaming certain files, but I found out that my catalog isn't where the program thinks it is. I have no idea where it is, actually.

    I had been reading older posts that didn't take later versions of os x into consideration.
    However, still when I run the "find people" or "find visually similar photos" I get no results. I literally have duplicate photos that it's saying aren't similar enough to stack. Again, I can't do this (or labeling people) manually.

    I assume you mean that you have several wireless access points, not wireless routers.
    Have your IT Dept disconnect the ethernet cable that connects the Access Point to the main switch or router, and then "tone" the wire to trace it.

    Another option is to flash the firwmare over the LAN, BUT that will probably default the Access Point to an address already in use and that may create a bigger problem.
