Finder will not let me select multiple photos.

I am trying to move a group of photos into a folder. I know the usual protocal is to click on the picture then scroll to the last photo, hold shift, and click on the that photo. Unfortunatly, I am only getting the two photos clicked of in the group instead of all the ones inbetween. The help in Finder stays that is what to do. Can someone help me please?

Do a PRAM reset.
Shut down the computer.
Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command (⌘), Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
Turn on the computer.
Immediately press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys. You must press this key combination before the gray screen appears.Continue holding the keys down until the computer restarts, and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
Release the keys.

I'm trying to transfer photos form my pc to my ipad. Itunes defaults to All Folders under Sync photos. Whatever file I download wipes out what was previously downloaded. It will not let me select Selected folders. How can I transfer additional photos

Another way. You can use a USB flash drive & the camera connection kit.
Plug the USB flash drive (works the same with an SD card) into your computer & create a new folder titled DCIM. Then put your movie/photo files into the folder. The files must have a filename with exactly 8 characters long (no spaces) plus the file extension (i.e., my-movie.mov; DSCN0164.jpg).
Now plug the flash drive into the iPad using the camera connection kit. Open the Photos app, the movie/photo files should appear & you can import. (You can not export using the camera connection kit.)

Please review the following that I excerpted from an older post here regarding Adobe's PRE_help comments about Hollywood Effect and mention of
Red Noir. Does any of the following apply to any of what is happening to you.
- Whenever I try to add an effect from the Hollywood Looks menu, it brings up a warning that all my previous effects on that clip will be deleted. However it will let me add those same effects *after* applying Hollywood Looks.
This is because of how the Hollywood Looks are designed to be used. Since these are effect presets (multiple effects in combination) that result in a specific "look"; they are best applied in isolation. If any previous effect is applied and we still allow a Hollywood effect to be applied, we will not be able to see what the effect does clearly. For e.g. if you already have a Gaussian Blur effect applied to your clip, and then we allow you to apply the "Red Noir" Hollywood effect, the fact that the "Reds" in the scenes will be highlighted and the others converted to B/W will not be clearly seen since the content is already blurred out. So any previously applied effects was designed to be removed. This holds good even if you apply a Hollywood look "on top of" another one. The previous one will be replaced. Having said that, you can customize the look further by either tweaking an already applied filter or by adding a newer effect on top. That is the reason you can apply an effect on top of the Hollywood Effects and not vice versa.
Please review and consider and then we can proceed from there if necessary.

Try ejecting your iphone from iTunes and then close iTunes. Now retry. Hope this helps.

Thanks to all who responded. You are all absolutely correct. However, this Ipad was a gift to my wife who was dying of cancer in the hospital and wanted some entertainment. So I started it out with her Apple ID. After she passed away I moved from Sacramento to Austin and eventually proceeded to get the Apple ID changed from my wife's to mine. Meanwhile when she was in the hospital I opened an Itunes account in my name to buy movies for her. That was the first mistake.
Then during the move to Austin I lost track of the IPAD and later found it and tried to use support but could not remember the proper ID. Later the folks at the Apple store helped me create a new and novel Apple ID that was unfortunately unlike any other.
The botom line is that I am stuck with three Apple IDs and three passwords. I am told by Apple there is nothing they can do about this as IDs cannot be changed or destroyed. I can quit using them or start a new account but when I try to do that the system keeps remembering too many things from the past and resists.
Even if I sold this Ipad and bought a new one, the system memory is still there.
I think the real problem is that destop and laptop computers are totally owned by an individual and that individual can control logins and passwords to his liking. IPADs and similar Apple products are different in that the corporation has built in their own intrusion detection schemes because of the relation to Itunes.
One thing I thought about is to open a new Itunes account pretendding to be a new customer with my regular Apple ID. Perhaps I could do the same with Apple Support.

Thanks Liam. After the second ap download it asked me three security questions on iTunes and on my MAC it allowed me to set up these with no error on the third question. iPAD 3 now downloads apps fine.
Apple really need to sort out this issue or provide guidance on this. Two days of the unit not really being fit for purpose - what use is an IPAD without the ability to download aps.
Also NO Response from Apple via online tech support and it's now been nearly 24 hours - I was told by telephone support I would get a response within 24 hours or less, as also stated in the email response too!??
It would be good to get a formal response from Apple on this rather than radio silence.

What are you using to search? You should be able to search any drive in from the Finder. If you're having trouble, try "EasyFind" from the App Store (free). You can search any volumes with it.

Iphone will not let me select "don't use icloud"

I downloaded 5.0.1 software to my iphone and am going through the set-up menu. Under "set up icloud" it will not let me progress with set up if I select "don't use icloud". I don't want to use icloud but the "next" button will not function unless I select "use icloud". Even if I selection "use icloud" I cannot get past the "Find My iPhone" screen regardless of which option I choose.

I am referring to permissions on the folder where the photos are supposed to be copied to. You have to look in the Destination panel of the Import dialog box and see what folder the photos are supposed to be copied to.
As a side issue, the use of multiple catalogs like this usually is not recommended; one catalog for all photos is what people usually recommend.
