Finder window keeps popping out when booting up the computer

Lately I've noticed whenever I shut down the computer with the "Reopen windows when logging back in" uncheck, this Finder window will pop out the next time I startup the computer. Still new to Apple and am not sure any settings that I may have set before this.
I just want a clear desktop when I boot up the computer and not greeted by this system Finder window.

Finder does not obey the rules of the 'Reopen windows' dialogue box. It will reopen any Finder window that was not closed when you shutdown. This was also true in Snow Leopard and isn't part of the 'Resume' feature itself.
The only way to not see that window when you restart is to close it before you shutdown!

  • HT5163 sim doesnt pop out when i use the paperclip for my iphone5

My SIM card won't pop out when I use the paper clip, not sure what to do. I cant get it to respond to itunes, it said could not detect device.   I have a "locked SIM" on top of phone. Yes it was a crazy weekend.  (but fun)

It is a bit of an angle to eject it and you have to push hard. If your weekend included immersing your iPhone in liquid it could be even a bit harder.

Not needed from the App Store. Go straight to the developer.

  • My Macbook Pro (15 w/Retina, 2012) keeps blacking out on me. The computer doesn't fully shutdown, but the screen goes black. What does this mean?

About a month ago my fan started making a weird clicking/whirring noise. It eventually stopped and I thought nothing of it (this might be unrelated, but I just want you all to have as much info as possible).
Then, yesterday, my Mac was acting funny. I was trying to watch netflix and whenever I clicked on a video, BAM the whole screen went black and the sound stopped. But the keyboard stayed lit. The only way to rouse the computer out of this state was to hard shut it off (ten seconds on the power button), and then turn it back on. Except, sometimes when I turned it back on, the screen would go white and play the mac startup musc and then immediately go black again. It was really weird and took me 2-3 times to be successful with even booting up the computer.
I ran a hardware check and it said nothing was wrong. I tried to reinstall the OS but when I entered recovery mode, the internet just wouldn't work. Like... the wi fi found no networks, even though I'm sitting in the exact same spot I was in yesterdat with the entire wi-fi wave filled and it's totally fine.
I don't know what this means. I'm planning on taking my mac in tomorrow, but I was wondering if you guys could help save me some time.

Also really quickly: I don't know where to put this, but the first time my computer reset, the desktop wallpaper turned back to the wallpaper I had before the one I currently have selected. That was really weird/random. Thoughts?

It looks as if there's a problem with your GPU. With a Retina machine, that would mean replacement of just about everything, except, perhaps, the flash storage drive.
Print you kernel panic when you go to your Apple Store appointment. I'm betting that it's a faulty GPU but they will be able to diagnose exactly where the problem lies.
    Good luck,
    Clinton

CDs pop out of my deck top Mac as soon as they go in.  They are good CDs and I tried many of them.  Anyone have this same issue and what fixed the issue?

  • Preferance pane window keeps popping open when entering search or data into any fields. I'm also using 1Password and it happens when trying to enter a password

I'm running on Mac OS X 10.7.4, Firefox 14.0.1. This issue didn't exist until this most recent Firefox update. Basically, a preference pane opens every time data is being entered into a field. It doesn't seem to be the same preference pane that you see when you open the preferences through the normal Firefox access ie. Firefox > Preferences. All of the choices listed in this particular preference pane are specific to Firefox though. I have a screen capture that I could include if wanted. When using 1Password the pane appears, when entering a search in the search bar near the address bar the pane pops up, when entering data into any field as I am now filling in this detail report the pane also pops up. It's quite annoying. Any advice? I'm going to systematically attempt to quit any add-ons and see if that makes a difference. I ave already tried doing a reinstall to no avail.

I think a screen shot would be helpful. There is a box below the compose area of a reply to upload files.

hello AngelaEgen, you have various malicious addons present. please try these steps:
    # [[Reset Firefox – easily fix most problems|reset firefox]] (this wil keep your bookmarks and passwords)
    # afterwards go to firefox > addons > extensions and in case there are still extensions listed there, disable them.
    # finally run a full scan of your system with different security tools like the [http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free free version of malwarebytes] and [http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/adwcleaner/ adwcleaner] to make sure that adware isn't present in other places of your system as well.

  • The 'drag to application' window keeps popping up when I open up Firefox on my Macbook

I just purchased a Macbook and downloaded Firefox a few days ago. At first it showed a Firefox application window for me to drag into the App folder. After doing that everytime I log onto my computer and open Firefox browser, the ' Drag Firefox Application' still pops up. It gets annoying at times how am I able to stop this?
    Thanks

I discovered that Flash gets disabled after making this about:config change. Firefox claims that Flash is "out of date" when the latest version is installed. So if you use Flash, this tweak won't work.
I don't really need my browser telling me what I can and can't run...

  • Minimized Windows keep popping up when returning to application

When returning to an application with minimized windows, the last window used always pops up automatically. Usually, when I minimize a window it's because I went to leave it there for much later reference. Is there a setting that will keep minimized windows MINIMIZED until I click on them...?

    Hello jaystar:
To my knowledge no - the behavior you describe is part of the design of OS X (and, I think, what most of us wish to happen).

  • My Lightsabers Only Pop Out When I Darken The Footage Video.

So I followed an online tutorial for sabers which worked but now find myself with the problem that my sabers look washed out. If I darken the footage by using the Opacity they look good. Im at a loss for what to do. Here are two screengrabs of the normal footage with it and darkened footage.

It is a simple matter of math. Looking at the footage you haven't got any range to work with. The average luminance brightness of the background is above 95%. That only leaves you 4 or 5% of the upper range of the colors to use for your light sabers. That's not enough. Take a look at the histograms and look at the RGB values from this screenshot.
Compare the histogram and RGB values from this frame:
The sample is taken from just to the right and slightly above the hilt of the light saber. In this image there's lots of room to work, in your footage there isn't. It's all used up. So the answer to your question is already answered, kind of, by you. You must darken your footage. You don't use opacity, you use one of the color correction tools like Exposure. If the footage you've showed us is the way it came out of the camera then you really need to reshoot.
