Finding a small sound

I have an audio file that has a one or two-second mistake that I would like to delete. I know how to do this, but I don't know how to find the mistake to highlight it.

I usually do 3 takes, but this project was unusual in that the entire work is long and complex--at least a half hour with visuals accompanying. Once the visuals are synched to the audio, which is what I do, I am sort of committed.
What I did was mark the place in full-screen, then enlarge it as much as I could and quickly put down a second marker, then go back to full screen, listen and adjust markers, then enlarge again and so on, until I had the offensive place nailed, and then I pressed delete. I needed to do this 2 times to get it all out. The spectral view is good in some cases, but not this one. I had to make sure that I got "tree" out and left "hill" in.
There should be a more efficient and less iffy way of doing this--maybe there's another program<g>?

I can't find a appropriate sound Effect for motion template.

Like my title say I can't find a appropriate sound Effect for motion template. I am using the template that goes by SATIN and There I choose SATIN BLUE-MENU.
In that Template we can see a blue Sheet flying by. BUt I am totally lost to get a nice sound for that. So far I could not find any sound for that. I never Worked with sound Effect. I appreciate any tip.
What is better only sound or a music playing with it? What kind sound goes with it?

I think you need to give us a little more information. Which program are you currently using? Soundtrack Pro, Motion, what? What does the Satin template do?
It sounds like what you're looking for is a "whoosh" effect -- like maybe a gust of wind or something like that. In finder search for the word "whoosh" and then select whichever drive has your Apple loops. You'll find a plethora of whooshes.
Of course that may not be what you're looking for. You'll have be be a little more specific with what the picture is that you're trying to add sounds to, and even then, it's still your artistic choice.

One thing can help is the following. Right click the speaker icon in the Taskbar and select 'Playback Devices'. Left click the default device once to highlight it ( it's usually 'speakers & headphones' ) then click the Properties button. Click the Enhancements tab and put a tick in the box next to 'Loudness Equalization'. Click Apply to save the change and then click OK in all remaining windows and see if this has helped at all.

Need help to find drivers for Sound Blaster X-Fi MB windows seven 64bit

I have a Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi MB card which is given whith the Foxconn motherboard BloodRage,it worked fine under windows vista 64 bit,but now with windows seven 64 bit when I go of "creative console laucher"? or "creative Audio console" "karaoke"?no works.(media source and wave studio seems ok)
I tried to find drivers for windows seven 64 bit but I can't find this sound card in the list of products.

Find without small caps italic and apply cstyle

Can't find the same sound

I am trying to find the sound "Ambient Synth Piano" on my Intel A5 computers (GB 11). It is on both my older imac (GB 09) and on my mbp (GB 11).
I have clicked on the part in the edit list where it says "show all".
When I do a global search on any of the above computers, for that sound, it does not show up.
Any ideas?

The JamPacks are no longer sold separately, and they are not part of the additional GarageBand contents. And not all of the old installer CDs for JamPacks work with Mt. Lion, some installers use PowerPC code.
What I have done, is buy MainStage 2 from the App Store. It will install all five JamPacks in the same location where GarageBand is looking for the JamPacks. So by installing MainStage you will be able to use them in GarageBand as well, without any special setup for GarageBand. The price for MainStage 2 is moderate - about 30$ for all five JamPacks. I found it less trouble to invest in that than trying to migrate the old library files from old my Mac. Christoph may be able to help with that - I think he just recently migrated the JamPacks.

Finder opens small window

Every time I open the Finder, it opens in a very small window which I then have to widen. I close it, re-open it, and it's the small window again. Every time.
Is there any way to get the Finder to open in a larger window, the size I closed it in?

If its only one folder, You could try trashing the hidden file ( .DS_Store ) inside the folder that stores some of its positioning and size settings.
To show your hidden files.
Launch ( Terminal ) > Paste in the following ( defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles -boolean true ; killall Finder ) > Press Return.
Open the ( Offending Folder ) > Delete ( .DS_Store ) > Restart > Resize folder how you want to to stay > Restart > Does it stay?
To reverse your hidden files back to hidden.
Launch ( Terminal ) > Paste in the following ( defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles -boolean false ; killall Finder ) > Press Return.
or You could trash all the hidden ( .DS_Store ) files on your Mac. If its multiple folders in Finder.
Launch ( Terminal ) > Paste in the following ( sudo find / -name ".DS_Store" -delete ) > Press Return. > Type in your administrator password. It will look like it isn't typing when you type in your password. Also it won't look like it is doing anything for awhile while it is running please be patient. It probably will tell you that /dev/... and /dev/... are not a directory, this is ok > Restart your Mac. Don't just log off then back on. > After your Mac restarts change the view settings the way you would like and test to see if it remembers them.
This command will delete all the .DS_Store files on your Mac so any positioning and sizing set in all Finder windows will have to be reset. Also its a good idea to repair your disk permissions afterwards.

Find the right sound device in /dev

I want to set the right sound device to record also sound from my internal microphone with xvidcap. For that I have to set the proper sound device /dev/XXX in the settings of xvidcap.
But how can I find out which of them is my internal microphone?

Looking at this old thread from 2011 I know others will look for an answer (I was doing just that a week ago). Yes xvidcap is old but it does work and does record sound as well. Here is what helped me to get it to record sound:
For the common no-sound problem:
1. Install pavucontrol and alacarte if not already
2. Open the program with padsp xvidcap
3. Click on the recording button (red circle)
4. Run pavucontrol, go to the Recording tab and there choose Monitor of Analog Stereo Internal Audio
Done!!
To record with sound, the program has always to be run with padsp xvidcap (for example from ALT+F2). To run it always like that from the menu: run alacarte, go to Sound and video, then to XVidCap Screen Capture, Properties and where it says Command put padsp xvidcap.
The stated is to record the system sound, that is, the one coming out of the speakers, that can be of a song or movie of our hard drive or pendrive played by Totem, of a Flash music video of a website played by Firefox, ...
Nevertheless, sometimes it can be necessary to record the microphone sound, for example if we want to make a video tutorial to explain how a program works. In this case we put xvidcap in recording state, run pavucontrol and in the Recording tab we put Analog Stereo Internal Audio (without "Monitor of" ahead).
If we only want to record sound (without video) we can run from ALT+F2 gnome-sound-recorder. The first time probably it will be configured to record from the microphone. To record the system sound we run with ALT+F2 gnome-volume-control, go to the Hardware tab and in Profile we put Analog Stereo Output (it's also possible to do this running pavucontrol and using the Configuration tab).
But when we finish we have to put again Analog Stereo Duplex in the Profile of Hardware of gnome-volume-control (or of Configuration of pavucontrol), so we can still choose the origin of the sound when recording with xvidcap.
Another option, not to have to change once and again between Analog Stereo Duplex and Analog Stereo Output neither limit the sound source for xvidcap, is to leave Analog Stereo Duplex and use also gnome-sound-recorder with padsp ahead, that is, run padsp gnome-sound-recorder. Like the stated for padsp xvidcap, to change where we want to record the sound from, we put the program recording, open pavucontrol and in the Recording tab we put the desired option. We also can change the menu entry if we want with alacarte, going to Sound & video, then to Sound Recorder and then to Properties.
NB: sometimes, to change from Analog Stereo Duplex to Analog Stereo Output it may be necessary to change first to Off, close, open again and then change finally to Analog Stereo Output. The same for the opposite change. If not, the computer may "not notice" that we have applied the change.

First you can use Measurement & Automation Explore to check your hardware. It will appear in My System -> Devices and Interfaces -> NI-DAQmx Devices. Select 4472, and click Test Panels menu. I'm not sure if your microphones need ICP supply, but I guess most of the array microphones need this. So you need to enable the IEPE, and make sure choosing AC Coupling. Change the Acquisition Mode to Continuous. You can test if your microphones is working well one by one.
You can refer to Hardware Input and Output -> DAQmx -> Analog measurements ->Sound Pressure -> Cont Acq Snd Pressure Samples-Int Clk VI.
If you use more that 8 microphones, you have to use more than one 4472 boards. You need to synchonize the signals received by different boards. A good example is Hardware Input and Output -> DAQmx -> Synchronization -> Multi-Device -> Multi Device Sync-AI-Shared Timebase & Trig-DSA VI.

I doubt you'll find much though that's that small. 1500 LOC is nothing, I doubt anyone would release his creation to the world until it was larger than that (unless maybe it were very trivial and complete by then).

IPad Air Playing Find My iPad Sound Quietly

I just brought an iPad air grey 64GB and I lost it. I know its in my room somewhere and i can hear the sound playing. but very quietly. aIt is still in the box an in its cellophane it came in. But i set it up. prolem is its playing so quiet and when im on one side of my room, the sound seems to be coming from the other side of the room. when i go to that side of the room, it seemslike the soud is now on the other side of the room. i'm never going to find my new ipad like this.
I'm not sure if its on low volume, or full volume but maybe the cellophane and the box are making it more quite when the sound passes through it.
Dos anyone know how to make the sound full volume if it isnt alrety? and does ayone know how i can find my ipad?

I think you have been misunderstanding my question, or I didn't make it clear enouth .
Anyway - I'm not interrested in tranfering files over bluetooth between the two devices, so that I can share my network on Iphone and use it on my Ipad.
All I want is for the two devices to connect to eatch other through Bluetooth - But they seem not to be able to find eathc other.
on both devices, they just keep search for devices, without finding any.
