Finding albums a master is used in

I'm aware of how images live in projects and versions are created and may be used in albums. Deleting a master produces a warning that versions based on it will also be deleted. What the warning doesn't tell you is where those versions of a particular master are. This topic suggests it's not possible to find out, though I'm not sure if it's still the case in the current version. Further to this, I seem to be getting this error message when I can't find any use of the image other than the master in a project. Apparently it is in use somewhere, but I've got no means of telling where that is. If I search on its filename or creation time, all I find is the master. Is there some way of finding these versions?
If it's not possible directly in Aperture, is there perhaps some way of scripting it?

Strange, the Script has never failed to locate all the albums an image is in when others have run it. Did you try, just for a test, to see if it would find an image that isn't giving you problems?
Have you run the steps listed in Aperture 3: Troubleshooting Basics ? Given that the script isn't finding them you might have a library problem.

How to find out which keywords were used to create a smart album?

I actually have 2 questions;
a) Short of scrolling down my very long list of password on the HUD - is there an elegant way to do it - How to find out which passwords were used to create an existing smart album? It's a recurring challenge for me.\ 'cause I like using smart albums, but once in a while need to check or chane the passwords.
b) With annoying regularity when I try to get to this forum and choose Aperture, I get the following message - in pink, no less: It appears you're not allowed to view what you requested. You might contact your administrator if you think this is a mistake.
Any clues?

that message may occur for four reasons at least:
Most frequently, when you are using an outdated link to a post that no longer exists, for example from an email notofication. Sometimes our community host will remove posts, that are in violation of the terms of use: see:

Or you are using the edit button or a bookmark to an "Edit" window, after the fifteen minutes allowed for editing are up.
Or you want to view a page in a restricted section of the ASC - soem perta are only open for members of level 6 or higher.
Or it is one of the unexplained problems with the forum software right now.

I really like Kirby's suggestion with the IPTC rule Keyword is. This is very useful for smart albums global to the library.
Frequently a different approach helps for my smart albums. Many of my smart albums are local to projects or folders. In this case the smart HUD will only show those keywords that have been used for the images in the selection. So if I only have tagged the images with the keywords "birds" and "slideshow", the smart settings HUD will only show these two keywords and the list is very short.
My Keywords HUD, is organized hierarchically; this way I can collapse large sections at once, and it is easier to focus on the keywords needed for a specific task.
I use the search field in HUD a lot, to filter the set of keywords shown.

I couldn't tell you what you purchased, and it might even be difficult for an Adobe employee to do so. The business could have a few options as far as what they might have purchased.
Your best bet, considering what little you paid, will be to hand it over to someone you might sell it to and let them try it out. If it works, then it works.

Custom - Material Master Update using an IDOC (Message Type - MATMAS_BAPI)

Hello everyone,
I was writing a functional specs. Basically, I want to update the material master MM02 using an IDOC (MATMAS_BAPI01 - Basic Type & MATMAS_BAPI - Message Type). This is currently working.
To my understanding, this currently uses function module - BAPI_IDOC_INPUT1 to update the material master after the IDOC is posted to SAP ECC from XI system.
Now I want to add one small validation logic before it actually updates the material master (MM02).
I looked around and found one exit - EXIT_SAPLMV02_002 in enhancement MGV00001. I was almost sure that this EXIT can be used to write the custom validation code before, actual MM02 updation.
However while trying to establish a link between this EXIT and BAPI_IDOC_INPUT1, I found that EXIT_SAPLMV02_002 is actually a part of another function module - IDOC_INPUT_MATMAS01 and not BAPI_IDOC_INPUT1. I am stuck here if adding the custom logic in the exit really going to work.
a bit of googling and I found from WE30 that the purpose of both these function modules are actually different. While BAPI_IDOC_INPUT1 actually create & updates the material master (also plant specific master data which is my need), IDOC_INPUT_MATMAS01 is just for maintenence of few fields in MM02 (may be custom fields).
Can anyone point out if my thing is in right direction?
Also please offer any solution where shall I put the Custom Logic in the EXIT or the some variants of
BAPI_IDOC_INPUT1.
A less technical explanation would be appreciated as I come from a functional background and invloved in this for writing the func specs. I want to make it sure that what I write is not useless and makes some sense.

Did some head breaking with the function module - BAPI_IDOC_INPUT1 to check whether it is calling the EXIT_SAPLMV02_002 internally. Couldn't get anywhere.
On question of another EXIT in BAPI_IDOC_INPUT1, I don't see any. I am not very proficient in ABAP code, I must say though.
I found the list of exits from google, almost same list everywhere.

SAP fixed asset add-on. Not able to import master data using upload pgm.

I am trying to import fixed asset master data using an excel file into sap B1 2007a patch level 42. I am able to run the import transaction. It tries to process and then giving me a message ' Import end: Number of successfully imported assets: 0. Number of processed assets:2. We have looked at the event log file and couldn't find anything related to the upload. I have gone through other posts and didn't face this issue. Any hellp is apreciated.
Path which I am using to upload the fixed asset master master data: Administration --> Setup --> fixed asset --> import fixed asset master data.
Following points (see below) also taken into account while creating the master data sheet.
also replaced the ',' in the csv file to ';' before uploading and changed the fixed asset mode to 'transfer' in the administration --> system initialization > company detaills> basis initialization.

     You have now a .csv file in hands right now for uploading into the fixed assets.

The issue was because of the conflict of Depr. Start Date, Use Life and Remaining Life. After I corrected the data, it worked just fine. The note 876670 helped me to resolve this issue. Thanks to Adam at Toronto SAP Business one support for his expert analysis and suggestions.

Not finding album info

hi guys um my itunes will not automatically find album info for me i have the correct boxes checked and a internet connection but it wont do it please help me

I had this problem with some of the older music that I have. I actually found my own album artwork and info on the internet and entered it in manually. I guess this could take awhile for alot of music, but i know how frustrating it can be.I used Amazon.com to find info and artwork for music Apple never heard of.Good Luck.

You can delete the 2 files that contain password details, they will be re-created automatically. First open the profile folder, for details of how to find it see the [[profiles]] article. Now close Firefox and delete key3.db and signons.sqlite. If there are files called signons.txt, signons2.txt and signons3.txt you can delete those as well, they are from earlier versions of Firefox.

Go to RSA1. Open Infoobject. In Tab General, you will find SID table.
and next , How can I find where this Master data SID's are used???
You cannot. The ONLY way to know is by deleting Master Data. Then, the Master Data that is not used will be deleted and the rest will stay.
TO do this, Right Click InfoObject, select Delete Master Data and here, select DELEE with SIDs.
Will this provide me the list of cubes where this master data is actually getting loading??

ITunes not Finding Album Art (Which Does Exist)

For reasons that I have been unable to ascertain, iTunes cannot find album art for some albums that I have ripped. The art does exist on iTunes--I've done a search and checked. The song text matches; the album title appears to match; but iTunes politely informs me "Artwork could not be found."
This is not due to the fact that these are songs I have ripped myself; iTunes has found plenty of other album art for tunes I've ripped myself. Something else is going on. A couple of examples for folks to chew on:
Godzilla - Blue Öyster Cult - Don't Fear The Reaper: The Best Of Blue Öyster Cult
Mirror In The Bathroom - The English Beat - Beat This! The Best of the English Beat
Freeze-Frame - J. Geils Band - Freeze Frame

There are plenty of others; that's just a sample. Any advice would be appreciated.

Is there an advantage to using a Project to group Albums as opposed to using a Folder?

In his answer to a question I posted a year ago, Aperture specialist RWBoyer made several savvy suggestions, including not overlooking the ability to use Projects as containers for Albums and other containers which might make up an "Output Project" (as opposed to simply holding all the photographs from a shoot). This same point was made by another sophisticated user in another thread.
At the time, this went over my head. I'm now revisiting it. I can find only two advantages to using Projects instead of Folders for this purpose. They are:
. the icon in the Library stands out
. Projects have a Project description field. I use these all the time, and would love to have such a field available for Folders (and -- ahemApple -- would love to be able to use these new-fangled hard returns in the description field).
The disadvantages I see are:
. There doesn't seem to be any way to have a key photo for the Project (remember, the Project does not directly contain any images).
. Selecting the Project in the Library does not show the images in the Project in the Browser (selecting a Folder does).
To me, that's a draw.
Comments? Suggestions? Elephants in the room?

Good point. That's why I didn't even look into using Projects in this way so far. The answer -- not really important -- is that I have entirely separate "trees" in my Library. One is for input, where "one Project = one shoot", and one is for output, where I have folders for clients, fine art, etc. The differentiation between the two uses of the Aperture item "Project" is by location in the Library.
The reason this isn't important is that there doesn't seem to be a strong enough advantage (or perhaps any) to using Projects in this way. I brought it up because those who recommended it

I would love to have one of those free programs that automatically finds album art and lyrics, for mac or PC, but what is the best one?
