Finding an unknown IP Address when not on location
I'm not sure if this is even possible, but i thought i'd ask.
Is there any way to find an IP address of one of my computers that is at a different location? I am at my office, and I would like to connect to my other computer at my other office down the road, however if I don't know the IP address I cannot do this. Getting the IP is not a problem if I am at that location, but if this situation arises again, is there a way to find out a computer's IP address without being on that computer's LAN?
I am sorry to tell you, but this would be like trying to find a needle in a haystack. Do you have a domain, or other people at the office you would like to connect to? Are you using anything special like a remote access server or a VPN connection?

How do I get calendar in iOS7 to look up address when entered into location field of appt?
With Mavericks on iMac, when I start to enter a location into a calendar event, the address gets looked up, completed and a map shows up on the event. The map is there when that event is sync'd with iPhone or iPad running iOS7. But on iPhone or iPad, when I enter an address into a calendar item, no lookup takes place and therefore I don't have a "live" address to click on for directions. Is there some setting in iOS7 that determines whether an address gets looked up in the calendar?
A quick look at their web site shows I've misinterpreted what you said - Notational Velocity isn't related to iCal. However if you are still having a problem with that the makers would be the people to ask.
I'm not sure why you can't get iCal files to work if they are in the correct place. In 10.6.8 the Calendar folder includes a folder for each calendar, and these contain the .ics files which represent the actual events. I don't know whether 10.8 has altered the format as I don't use it.
You originally said ' I found the old calendar data in Users/my name/Library/Calendars, and copied it over into the Library file on my new machine.' - did you copy the entire Calendars folder intact? -
Lock or disable when not in location
Is there such an app using the location service that would lock the iOS or even disable it if the device is not within let's say 1 mile of the specified GPS coordinates?

Toggle airplane mode: Tap Settings, turn airplane mode on, wait three seconds, and then turn off again.
Restart your iPhone.
Ensure that your software is up to date:
Check for a Carrier Settings Update. Tap Settings > General > About.

Note: Some updates may require a Wi-Fi connection.
Remove the SIM Card and reinsert it. Allow the iPhone to acquire the network again.
If your SIM card has SIM PIN enabled, try toggling it off: Tap Settings > Phone > SIM PIN.
Try another location. If a different location works, but the original location still does not, contact your carrierto report the issue.
Reset network settings: Tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
Restore the iPhone as new.
Contact your carrier to:

Verify that there are no account-related blocks.
Find out if there are specific error messages in the carrier logs that could help determine why the issue is occurring.
If none of the above steps resolves the issue, contact your carrier, make an appointment at an Apple Retail Store, or contact AppleCare to troubleshoot further.

Unknown "from" email address when I compose new email
Hello,
Starting last night, I noticed that when I go to compose a new email, an unknown email address defaults into the "From" section of the new email. If I pull down on the unknown address, my real address is there, but not selected. I can select it manually.
I tried going to "Email Settings" and making my email address the default, but it keeps auto filling this unknown address into the "From" section of the email. The save is not sticking.
Does anyone know how to delete an email address once it is showing up in the "From" section?

P.S. I'm wondering if either my email or the Verizon system got hacked because this just happened from one moment to the next#1 In the e-mail UI, go to Mail under My Settings

Just above the textarea that you use to enter the message text there is usually a button bar with buttons to add text formatting like Bold and Italic.<br />
That toolbar may also have a button to turn a text link into a clickable hyperlink (look for a chain like button).<br />
You can select the text and click that button to turn the link into a clickable hyperlink.<br />
If you can't find the button then hover them all to check the tooltip of each.

I just came over from Sprint 4 days ago and had my number ported over. When I send a text to another number, it shows up on the other phone as coming from email address and not my phone number. For example, if the recipient of the text has me in the contacts as "Tom", the text comes to them displaying my email address instead of "Tom".

Welcome to our family. We want you to be able to enjoy all the services we provide and we definitely need to address this. Do you receive/make calls without problems? Are you able to receive messages with your contacts' number? Are you using iMessages? If so, go to Settings>Messages>Send&Receive>only your phone number should be enabled.

I am having issues with my iphone6 Bluetooth connection in my 2013 Mercedes C Class. When going to settings under Bluetooth, it is unable to find any devices. I did not have this issue until I downloaded IOS 8.0.2. Do you know if there has been any resolution from Apple yet?

my apple ID is showing someone elses email address and not mine so when i want to buy or update apps it brings this other email address up. please can someone help how do i put it back to my email address?
First go here - https://appleid.apple.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/MyAppleId.woa/ and login under the manage tab. Check your information and be sure it is all correct.
An AppleID is nothing more than an email address, so if you see another email address in the store, then someone has logged in with a different AppleID than yours. Did you let someone else use your iPhone? -
System Not Picking Permitted Payee address when the Main vendor has PO Box.
Hi,
When we are doing payments to Permitted Payee ( Vendor ) the system is printing the checks with PO Box ( Post Box no. ) number of the Main vendor .
But when we deleted the PO Box number field in Main vendor, then the system is printing the check with Permitted payee address.
When Main vendor number has PO Box field populated with a number, selected credit address ( Permitted Payee address ) will not print on check.
When there is a Permitted Payee the system has to consider that Permitted Payee address only. But system is not doing like that.
Please advice what is the problem.
( They are paying through APP run ).Can you please tell me where it is.

When opening a link any link from firefox address does not display in the location bar. Even when navigating forward from there the address does not show back/forward button and refresh all rendered unable to be used

After recent update of 31.2 Thunderbird will not properly sort address when addressing a new email.
When I try to address an email the sorting has become meaningless. It may present 4 choices that are not in ascending or descending order. The suggested addresses are not even alphabetically adjacent.
Thunderbird changed to addresses starting with the string you types to addresses containing the string you type. Thunderbird always displayed the results by popularity: The more an address is used, the higher it is listed.
The current behavior is not optimal, but is actively being worked on to be improved in the next version... -
I get double phone numbers, double addresses, but not double notes, when I sync iPhne 4S with Outlook 2007. How can I prevent it from happening?
Yes, I removed iCloud add-on from Outlook; and uninstalled iCloud. I then re-installed, and sync would not work (no tab for sync in Outlook either). There was no improvement.
However, since reading your post, I have just tried signing out of icloud control panel and signing in again....and now all si working as it should. Weird!!

icloud still shows my old email address when I try to enter, asking me for a password I no longer have. I need to change my email address and password in ICLOUD but I can't find a way to do it. Any ideas? Thanks.
Logout (System Preferences>iCloud) then login with the new address and password.
