Finding Applications Hidden on the Memory Card

Hello All,
I own an E51. I've installed several programs like vBag and a medical dictionary on my memory card instead of the internal memory. Some of these programs don't show up in the Installations screen- only in the app manager. So how do I access these "hidden" applications?

For me, when synchronizing with Outlook with >15.000 contacts it doesn't sync all. Don't know how many it does - it doesn't say that, but the memory of the phone says it's full...

Which programs use the memory card?

Can anyone help me determine which programs use the memory card? My E90 won't connect in transfer mode because Pc Suite says there is an application using it. As far as I'm concerned, active notes and sms were the ones to blame. They specifically have the option to use the memory card. But I can't find it in other apps. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Various installed programs will run from your MMC in the background. I suggest you install and app called Best Taskman from www.symbianware.com.
Install this to your phone memory!
Now open it up, press options - view - advanced - processes
you will see all running processes and an icon next to them. If th icon looks like a memory card, then it is running from that. Press the "C" key on each MMC running process to close them.
Now you'll be able to connect via mass storage.
I recommend making a note of which apps these are and re-installing them to your phone memory instead. Also, any app you know will have a feature required to tun in the background, ensure this is installed on the phones memory!

5610 after update problem with the memory card

I have updated my brothers 5610 through NSU with latest firmware 6.60. First i have removed the card. The problem now is that the phone asks for password for the memory card and i haven't used one. I have tried with 0000 and 12345 with no sucsess. I also tried the card on my phone and it still asks for password. Please someone advise. Do i need to format the card with the PC /but there is data i need to safe/ or there is another way.

it is most likely the corrupt memory card issue, it happens quiet often. that is why back up is so essential to have especially of memories and such. for that i use share online and upload my pics right away to ovi or vox whichever.
the programs you bought you should be just able to download once again and plug in the key you have gotten with your applicatioins. you should be able to recover all of your purchases. i am sorry for your pics for those can't be recovered
i always keep a separate email folder for all my application keys so i can find they easily as phones and memory does get corrupt. i can do it relatively quickly and have the info handy even on the go

C5-03; how to view music files in the memory card ...

Is it possible to view the files in the memory card (using the File Manager) folder-wise? I have some music files in the memory card; in a folder named 'Music'. When I go to Menu - Applications- Office- File mgr - E:Memory car-Music , I see the files in different collections corresponding to the artist/ genre names. I don't see the folders I had created. The artist/ genre (meta) data is not accurate and so the listing based on that is not useful.
This is related to the problem with Palylists I had posted earlier.

go to music player select options and refresh player this will pick up all the music
you will get a message on screen for example 40 songs added the go to music player select all songs

I recently got a iPad camera connection kit hoping to directly download my photos from the memory card for my camera, a Sony Cybershot. When I put my memory card in the adapter and plug it in to the iPad nothing happens. What am I doing wrong?

When I put my memory card into the adapter and plug it in to my iPad nothing happens. My camera is a Sony Cybershot and the memory card is a Sony memory stick PRO duo 512 mb. I don't think I am doing anything incorrect. Is my camera/memory card incompatible with this adapter?

The Camera Connection Kit works with SD cards, not Memory Sticks.
Maybe you can find an MS to SD adapter, or use the USB connection with the USB cable that came with the camera.

N81: "Memory full" even formatted the memory card

Hi.
Using N81, I get the "Memory full. Delete some data" message every time (when turning on the mobile, when trying to install any app, when trying to uninstall any app, ...).
I've formatted the memory card, and I've got:
- Capacity: 1947 MB
- Used: 1 MB
- Free: 1946 MB
but continue getting the same error.
Any similar experience? I reset the mobile (*#7370# and *#7780#) but I don't experience any change (I've deleted the time and settings, but not the memory issues).

Thank you for your post.
What I recommend you try is to re-installing your firmware and see if this make a difference. You can do this via Nokia suite through tools and update.
If after this is still isn't working when you did a hard reset (*#7370#) did you back and restore? If you did do the hard reset but don't restore, do still experience the same issue?

Lost all my images on the memory card

I just bought an A2300 and took it on a week-long backpacking trip in Colorado. At the end of the trip, I took the memory card out of the camera and gave it to one of the other backpackers to load my images on his Mac. He said he saw about a half dozen .jpg files on the card, but couldn't open them. When he gave the card back to me and I put it back in the camera, the card was blank! I had over 100 pictures on that card when I handed it to him. Now I have nothing. Any ideas on what happened to all the files and what I may be able to do to recover all the images?

There are several threads on this topicalready & many list some free software links worth trying HOWEVER here's the link to a very good program that you can test drive to see if the images are there & recoverable before you pay for it. IF it finds them you at least know they exist & have the choice to either pay to license the software or try the free stuff & see if it works for you.

Nokia 6120 how to move messages to the memory card

hi,
I have to take my Nokia 6120 in to be fixed because it just stopped making any sounds, tones, alarms, and i couldn't hear anyone and they couldn't hear me.
anyway
now i want to save some of my text messages to my memory card before I give the guys my phone as they said they'd have to wipe it, but I can't work out how to do it
When I select the message and then say 'move to' i only get the option of 'my folder' which, as far as i can work out, isn't on the external memory card.
How can I move messages to the memory card??
Please help, I've spent an hour looking around the thing and cant find a way...it's driving me mad!

I moved 2000 messages from mobile to memory card in N95. In messaging options I have just set "save messages on memory card" , after that mobile asked me if I want to copy all messages saved in mobile to memory card"

To create a Playlist, select Menu > Music > Music Player > Playlists > Options > Create Playlist. Name the playlist & add songs to the playlist.

how do i format the memory card on my n78? do we another application to do it? can i do it with my nokia? the music player keeps on searching for files non stop and i wanna know if formatting the memory card solves the problem

You should have because that's how to do it on FP2 phones such as the N78 and N96.

Accessing the memory card

I used to have a 5130, with it I was able to access my memory card in an area called gallery. From there i would have the option to access the photos and music from the phone and the option to access the memory card was there as well. I now have a 5230 but i realise that this option is not available. Is there anyway to get this option for the 5230 by changing the settings or updating the phone softwarse.

You've moved from a basic phone with a Java-based OS to a Symbian smartphone, access to your files from Gallery and Music Player are database-driven which find compatible file types wherever they are stored in the phone.
For your music, inserting a card from another phone won't automatically add music tracks to the music database. To do this, open the Music Player then select Options>Refresh Library. The phone will perform a scan of all available memories looking for music files and will add the content of your memory card.
The Gallery database for images and videos should be updated as soon as you open the gallery, and so if you then select Images and Videos you should see all photos and videos on both phone memory and memory card, sorted by default in descending date order.

Defrag the phone memory (not the memory card)

Hello guys
Is there a way to defrag the phone memory of my N73ME as I do with the memory card? Because my phone got a lot slower the last days (after formatting the memory card actually)

You cant defrag phone memory. Your phone is slow because certain applications must be running in background. Close applications you dont need.

Does Lightroom 5 automatically eject the memory card once the photos are imported?

I use Macbook and ever since I installed Lightroom, the memory card no longer shows up under 'devices' in Finder, therefore I am unable to eject it.

How is it showing in LR. As a separate drive with green indicator or under Hard Disc Volumes folder?
If it shows under volumes you may need to choose to hide as a parent folder.

Otherwise how are you copying the images. To hard drive pictures or external hard drive?
You can set the prefs to automatically detect a camera memory card and in the import dialog choose auto-eject.

5230 - How can I move data to the memory card.

My phone has about 90mb of space by what I can see. I have installed a microSD card and that has 4gigs.
My problem is that I can't seem to install anything for want of space. My pictures are on the card, my music is on the card. Even so my card has about 1.65GB of free space yet I can figure out how to move applications to the card. I installed the Suite today for Windows and one of the things it does it bug me to update programs like Maps... sounds good in theory but my phone filled up half way thru the installation process. Any suggestions on how I can offload everything to the memory card? Thanks.

alright i guess that's just an unfortunate limitation of the phone. So is there anything specific I need to do in order to install to MC. I've seen that option before but sometimes I haven't.
I don't have many applications. I went thru and deleted six that I don't use and that's pretty much everything. I'm assuming that Google Maps is taking up a sizeable chunk though it shows in the program manager as only 1MB.
