Finding base table for a field in a structure !! urgent

i need to find out where is BUDAT field being populated in the 2lis_04_p_arbpl extractor. When i see where this field is coming from it shows MCAFVG which is a structure. i need to use this field in user exit and need to know which table is it coming from. I am actually looking for last confirmation date on an order.
my query is that if a field is shown as a part of a structure then how can we find out where is it being populated from ? like where can we find the base tables for this structure ?
Please help. Points will be assigned to all helpful answers.

well yes... go to ROOSOURCE and find the name of the program for that structure. go to se38 and check out the tables used in that program.

You can enter the languages in the IMG
Path is
IMG-> Personnel Management-> Personnel Administration -> Personnel Data-> Languages
Or you can simply go for technical information in the field name and will get the table name for that field and can maintain in SM30

U can get list of tables which uses this field.
Here are some list of tables which uses this field.
HRP1501(DB Table for Infotype 1501)
HRP1502(DB Table for Infotype 1502)
PA0021(For infotye 0021)
PA0052(Wage maintainence)
I thnk u shuld use these tables since ur looking for employee expenses.Still there are many PA tables associated with it .

You could also try table DD01T. In se 16,put in the description thats needed,you will get to know the respective data elements.
Then you can use DD03L to find the respective table. This would work if the data element is not generic.

        I have the filed name f1.
Now I want to know the check table of this field programatically and if this field has a configuration table then I need that table also.
eg: if werks is the field the Master         Table is : MARC
                                and Configuration Table is : T001W.
Is this possible first of all programatically ?

1. I don't know the master table for the field werks
A field is never independent. It is always linked to a table,
otherwise the information is only half.
2. So incase if we do not know the tablename,
   its best to query the table DD03L with WERKS,
and filer out CHECKTABLE with *,
and take any one record.

Well, what are you reconciling to? You are looking at something that seems to be different from your data extract, so what is that thing? My trouble shooting process is to take an asset that seems to be wrong and reconcile from the report/screen data to the extract data. You have to figure out what Oracle program is involved and what kind of SQL that the program is doing and what tables it is looking at. This could be an Oracle program error. I just ran into a problem on the Payables Posted Invoice Register report, where the total did not match my extract total. Turns out the report was wrong. If I had table records with a date/time stamp value (instead of just a date stamp value) in the accounting date field for the TO ACCOUNTING DATE value in my report request selection, those records were being dropped from the report. I reported this to Oracle support and found out that there is a patch to fix the problem (happens when cancelling an invoice) and a data script to follow to fix the historical data. So you have to keep an open mind. Yes, trying to find a reconciling issue can be very painful.
My reaction is that you are looking at the right tables. There is also a FA_DISTRIBUTION_HISTORY table that you may want to look into, that links back to the FA_DEPRN_DETAIL table. Maybe your issue lies there. At least something to look at.

Hi Adarsh,
in R/3 goto transaction GCL3 "Display FI-SL Customizing Ledger".
Find the line for your special ledger WD and what you see in the column named table should be the main table for your standard fields.
The structure of the table is different to the datasource and also the key might be coded. Once you found the table for WD (above) have a look for further tables of similar name and you will find the tables that hold the key (like ROBJNR, COBJNR or SOBJNR) referencing to your table.

in your source system (ECC ) ,
Provide the datasource name in the infosource field , and the field OBTAB shows the source table for the extractor

You can use help.sap.com for this.
If you do not find this data source there...then
You can go to LBWE t-code in R/3 and then infront of the data source...you have maintenance option.
Click on that ...and go inside it in the display mode.
Here you can see a generic pool of fields on the left side which can be included in the data source........ field present in the data sources in the right side of the pool.
For every field you have a tructure name infront of it like MCXXXX where XXXX is the table name.
So the field is being from that particular table.
Even I would the same thing to reply to your thread.
You can follow the same procedure to find the table for any LO data source.
This is accurate in 99% cases...only in very few cases like purchasing...we get one or two fields from different tables.

How to find the r/3 tables for the fields of the datasource 0FI_GL_40.For example this datasource has ANLN1(Asset),ANLN2(Asset Subnumber) and AUFNR(Order)
fields.Is there any tcode or table that gives the r/3 tables for the the fields of the above datasource?

The concept of BOM for finished components are defined in terms of semi finished goods. Hence, routing of a component from raw materials can not be seen directly in system through standard report.
But users need to have the details of a routing of a component from raw material in one report. To provide the details in single report, development is required.
With this report users can see the routing from raw material till component in one single report.
Assumption
BOM is maintained for a component with all related semi finished components till raw material properly.
Material Number: MARA MATNR   - Multiple selection option should be there (Mandatory)
Plant: AFRU WERKS      - Single selection parameter (Mandatory)
If procurement type is E or X, system has to check the routing through CA03.

This is the way to find in the system:
From RSA2>Extraction Tab-> Extract Structure-->Components Tab->Component Column( You will see .INCLUDE) with its Corresponding Description in the column---> Short Description ( FOR EX : ORDERADM_H Data for BW DataSources), usually the CRM system table will be CRMD_******** or CRM_******.
Here you will not find the lbwe( way to find tables in the ECC ).
The Best and easiest way to find is as said by Martin.

 Can anyone tell me how to find the ranges for a field.
1, i.e say I want the Ranges Structure for the field LIFNR.
 The ranges structure for this is "RANGE_LIFNR".
 This I used in my Program since I know it previously.
 But now I want the ranges structure for the field VBELN (Delivery Document).
 I don't know what is it !!!!!
2, Is there any procedure to know the ranges structure for a particular field ?

Hi Deepu,
Using 'Where used list' you can able to find out RANGES tables.
For VEBLN range table is --> CRM_AC_ASSIGN_VBELN
If you using a program defined as shown below.
DATA: r_vbeln type ranges of vbeln.
The above statement also creates ranges structure in Runtime.
Procedure finding range table structures
go to SE37 -> Enter domain or dataelement value
Go to where used list --> search for 'Structures'
After getting all structure --> Click 'SEARCH' butoon in tool bar --> Search for 'RANGES' word
You can get all ranges tables in the search window

the field 'cost center'-> F1 -> technical information
-> structer'CSKSZ'
How can I know the data base table of this field.

hi,
try st05:
1) Activate the trace.
2) Run the Transaction(QE01) in your case.
3) After the transaction is complete, deacticate the trace in ST05.
4) Execute "Display Trace".
It will give you listing of all the database tables that have been hit including the text tables.
