  • The iTune Remote App has stopped finding my iTunes library when connected to wifi from my main router, but works fine when connected via second wifi router on the same network (different SSID)

    I'm running iTunes Remote App from a couple of iPhone 5's and a first generation iPod Touch. iTunes is running on a PC - Windows 7. My home network runs two Wifi Routers, each with a different SSID. I've had no problems with the Remote app running this set up for the last 8 months but recently the App can only find my iTunes library when the iPhone/iPod is connected via one specific router, when connected to the network via the other router, no iTunes library is found. I'm also running an Apple TV and it's the same as the iTunes Library, only visible via the one SSID.
    Everything else seems to work fine when connected via either router, eg Internet on the iPhones (definitely via wifi)
    I've tried renewing the lease on the iPhone wifi connection, restarting everything.....several times.....
    It used to work fine, this only seems to have been a problem in recent weeks
    Any help or advice would be much appreciated
    Thanks

    It turned out to be the firewall settings on our router. Her machine was sending traffic that our router interpreted as a DoS attack and blacklisted her Airport's MAC address. That's why it would work fine if she switched to Ethernet.

  • How to retrieve the client IP address when Apache acts as a proxy for Tomca

    Hello,
    I am trying to retrieve the client IP address accessing the web
    services. Because Apache is our proxy for all requests, when I try to
    retrieve the client IP I always get the localhost IP: 127.0.0.1
    The following code returns the localhost IP:
    MessageContext msgContext = MessageContext.getCurrentContext();
    if(msgContext != null) {
    return msgContext.getProperty(Constants.MC_REMOTE_ADDR).toString();
    return "Unknown";
    From a servlet, obtaining the client IP address can be achieved using
    this code.
    String ipAddress = request.getHeader("x-forwarded-for");
    if (ipAddress == null) {
    ipAddress = request.getHeader("X_FORWARDED_FOR");
    if (ipAddress == null){
    ipAddress = request.getRemoteAddr();
    return IPaddress ;

  • Win XP wireless client slow to acquire address when connecting to TC

    Hi,
    I've recently set up a Time Capsule to act as a wireless router and network storage for my home network. It replaces a Linksys WRT54GL wireless router using DD-WRT firmware.
    Network design is fairly simple: cable from wall > cable modem > TC's WAN port > wireless to all other devices. Major wireless LAN clients are: HP laptop (Win XP Pro SP3), Powerbook G4 (OS X 10.5.8), Macbook unibody (OS X 10.5.8).
    Thankfully, it all seems to work well so far and all 3 computers can see and connect to the network and the TC's shared disk. However, there is one issue with the network that I can't figure out how to resolve.
    When the Win XP laptop wakes from standby, it takes much longer to reconnect to the TC's wireless network than it did to reconnect to the previous wireless network created by the Linksys router. Sometimes up to minute - the Wireless Network Connection icon in the system tray reports that it is "Acquiring Network Address", then fails, gives itself a self-assigned IP address, but then a few seconds later connects fully.
    The Macbook sometimes has a similar problem where it will takes about 30 to be fully connected. I have not seen any issues like this with the Powerbook G4 yet.
    With the previous Linksys router network, all three machines would be reconnected to the network as soon as they came on - I could open a laptop and be online almost instantaneously.
    Has anyone else seen a similar delay in getting client devices to resolve a connection to a TC WLAN? If so, what suggestions might you have to fix this?
    Thanks!

    hmm...do you have 2 different routers on your network both doing DHCP? That doesn't make much sense.....try configuring your AirPort in Bridgemode...that may help

  • IPhones/iPads Cannot Pull IP Address when connecting to Wifi via WLC

    I have recently setup my first WLC, Cisco 5508, Version 7.6.120.0.
    Devices such as laptops and cell phones other than Apple, all connect without issue. But no iPhones or iPads of any version are able to connect unless I statically assign the IP address, SM, and DG on the apple device.
    I thought it was maybe a DHCP issue on the WLC, but I moved the DHCP pool to my Internet router (Cisco 3925), and still same issue.
    In regards to security, I'm only running one SSID with WPA2, TKIP, and PSK. I did setup an additional open SSID without any security or SSID to test, and still couldn't get iphones to pull an IP.
    My company has another WLC in the network and I have compared the two configurations over and over again and cannot seem to find many differences, but iphones can connect on that system. The other WLC is same model (5508) and Version 7.6.120.0.
    The only real difference I notice, is that if I drill down into an AP on the new WLC, it shows a Mini IOS version of 0.0.0.0; whereas on the 5508 that has been in the network for a while, it's AP's show a Mini-IOS version of 3.0.51.0.
    Any have any ideas what might be going on here? I have been Googling and troubleshooting this for well over a week without success.
    Any help is greatly appreciated!

    The other item is that even though I have HTTPS Access enabled and an SSL cert from Cisco, I cannot HTTPS to the GUI. I have to HTTP.

    i had to restart the phone and try again. finally worked.

  • How can you find photos taken today when connecting to pc

    You screwed up the software for any one using the Iphone as their camera, I used to use it constantly, but now I can not because of the way the new software recategorized my photos. The sub file folder names are totally useless to any one downloading to windows computers. Now I am forced to use another device an actual separate camera because of your screwing with the software handling of the photos. After all of your commercials about how people were using their Iphones as their primary camera, now you have made it useless to anyone using a PC to download their pictures!!!!!
    2
    Even after transferring all of my photos to my computer and deleting off of Iphone, as soon as I take additional photos and it creates another photo folder under the DCIM that has meaningless combination of letters and numbers but it still has the same date of 01/06/2014. This is stupid to say the least. When you create a new folder it should have the date created or modified not some obscure date that is meaningless. And if it creates a new folder every day with the same meaningless info (name and date)then it renders the Iphone useless as a camera!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    While not elegant you can use this method to find the latest photos relatively quickly.
    1. Open DCIM folder on the iPhone with Windows Explorer.
    2.. In the search bar type in an * (asterisk).
    3. This should display all of your photos including the date they were taken from all folders.
    4. Sort photos by date to locate the date range you need.
    5. Right click on any photo in the date range and then click on "open file location"
    This should open the folder with all the files in that date range. If the photos have been split over 2 folders then repeat the operation for the first and then the last in that date range. Also note that for some reason you cannot drag and drop nor copy and paste from the search results. You need to open the containing folder.
    Hope that helps until Apple fix the problem!!!

  • Suddendly (no external shock) Thunderbird stopped finding the address book, but it finds the right addresses when sending a mail with a name existing in the Boo

    The phrase is all what happens. If ask for the address of, say, Joe (existing in the book), it gives nothing. If I write an e-mail message to Joe, Thunderbird inserts the correct address to Joe, and if I send it, it goes correctly. The Address book looks "strange" its content (nearly empty) does not correspond to what it was. I am working in Linux Mint 17.1 with great satisfaction fo the rest.
    Thanks for helping. Giancarlo.

    Thanks for answering,
    however I miss what to send you: The address book is missing most of my contacts (they were there, before), but if I send a mail to one of those missing contacts Thunderbird attach the correct address without my intervention: funny. Mau be a virus did that, bu how can I recover the missing address book (hidden somewhere, certainly). I cannot show in a screen copy the facts I describe here. Anyway I enclose the screenshot of the opening of the actual address book. Please ask me any useful question on the above.
    Again thank and greetings,

  • No IP address intermittently on Dell laptop when connecting to EA6400

    Ever since I have a new EA6400 wireless router, my Dell Latitude laptop doesn't always get an IP address when connecting to the router. It's only a problem with the Dell, other devices connect without trouble. The Dell laptop doesn't have problems with any other routers it connects to. Any ideas...?
    When connecting, the wireless icon in the tray sometimes shows a yellow exclamation mark saying 'No internet access'. The wifi status shows 'Limited' in that case. The solution is most of the times to turn off wifi completely, then turning it on again. This apparently forces a reconnection including a new IP address from the EA6400. My setup is pretty out of the box, no changes made to DHCP settings or other network related things. I'm puzzled...
    Any suggestions greatly appreciated!

    3-6' feet minimum safe distance between devices.
    Placement on main level floor and central in the building and WELL ventilated is preferred. Not in basements or closets as building materials, or near by electronics devices could interfere or hinder good signal propagation.

  • Windows 7 and XP Disable wireless when connected to hot wired

    Hello there,
    We are facing IP address shortage due to redundant network connections from laptops because every laptop uses two IP address when connected to wireless network and hard wire. Does Windows 7 and XP natively has the options to disable wireless when a laptop
    is connected to hard wired? I know the wireless can easily disabled by manual process but problem is user don't have the knowledge or don't bother to do that. So if there is a way to use GPO to configure this would be ideal -- no 3rd party solution please.
    Any suggestion is most welcomed.
    Thanks,
    TL

    There are no Fail proof ways for Win 7 or 8 to make sure that AT ALL times Wire is used over WIFI. The metric setting is ignored by MS. I know cause my metric for the wired is 10 and for the WiFi is 9999, but at all times the WiFi is used instead of the
    Wired. This is by design as Microsoft being as inept as always did not properly design their operating system. This is a DESIGN DEFECT, which Microsoft will not admit to, despite the fact that it could be caused by no other method EXCEPT incompetent design,
    ignored during quality assurance testing etc. The reason there are a million people looking for a fix for this design flaw is that there is NO fix available. MS will not fix it as they got your money and could care less. Being that they are among the most
    evil and greedy companies currently in business is why it will never be fixed. I dare them to prove me wrong and fix the obvious design defect. I double dare all who read this to log in to the MS tech net and demand that they fix this DESIGN DEFECT.
    Any developer qualified to design an OS should have no problem permanently fixing this and Microsoft has NO EXCUSE for not doing so with an update!!!!!! All they have to do in the code logic is ask the system if the device getting an IP etc is using a "radio"
    then it asks all the other devices that are getting or have gotten an IP if it was gotten via a radio, If during any of these quires the answer is I DID NOT get my IP from a radio connection then that IP path gets priority and all the others, IE WiFi gets
    disabled. Then if there is a change in the network, loss of connectivity for example, the process is repeated and when everything say's it got its IP from a radio then the WiFi takes over. So in a nut shell every connection is looked at to see if it is from
    a radio based device or a hardwired based device, NOT using metrics since that apparently can not be counted on, the prof is in the 500+ PCs I just setup, ALL OF WHICH GIVE A SIGNIFICANTLY LOWER METRIC TO THE WIRED, but still choose the WIFi. The order of
    the connection establishment should not matter since the test is performed on every connection and as soon as one is found that is not radio based, it is left on and all others are turned off. Common sense really. This is NOT ROCKET science! Just good common
    sense programing.
    So I challenge everyone who reads this comment to add a demand for MS to fix the DESIGN DEFECT once and for all.
    That's all I have to say. If there is a script as some of the suggestions here mention that can do it, if there is a single 3rd party product out there that can do it, then there is NO EXCUSE for MS not to provide a PERMANENT OFFICIAL MICROSOFT CERTIFIED
    FREE fix for this DEFECT. And yes it can only be classified as a DESIGN DEFECT as common sense say's you would AT NO time under normal operations EVER want the MUCH slower WiFi, 100 mbps  compared to 1000 mbps for wired to be in charge. EVER! Even if
    the wired nic is only 100 mbps, some cheep junk laptops have the indecency to come with a 100 mbps nic instead of a Gigabit, the Wired is still better 99.99999% of the time.
    And one last thing this IS THE ONLY REAL ACCEPTABLE ANSWER to the original question, and all the others just like it who EXPECT, with GOOD REASON, that COMMON SENSE, would be in charge NOT ignorance and defective designs, and that AT ALL TIME WIRED RULES
    OVER WIFI.
    Hope this helps, it is time to insist that MS do their job AND FIX THE DESIGN DEFECT!!!!!!!!!
    Ralph
    PS Not all systems have switches on the outside for disabling the WiFi. My HPs don't and trying to train all the users on how to MANUALLY disable it and when to do so etc is like trying heard flock of sparrows, it's not happening, NOR SHOULD IT NEED TO!

  • How to specify source IP address when opening TCP connection?

    Hi !
    We are building a system in which a server communicates with a multi-homed Linux client with three network interfaces.  All interfaces are routable to the server, but the server only accepts connections from one of those interfaces.
    We need the server to specify different local source addresses for each client but the Open_TCP_Connection vi does not provide the capability to specify the local source address.  Is there a way in LabVIEW open a TCP client connection and specify the source address?
    Thanks,
    -John

    What you are describing would mean that your server machine is creating client to communicate with another server. Client never accept a connection. They alwasy connect to a server.
