Finding deleted items, help!!!!

My computer is old and doesnt store much space, last night i downloaded an hd show on itunes that was 1.34 gig., for my com this is a big hunk of space. So i tried to sync it to my ipod and because i have a classic it didnt work, anyway so i figured why keep it, so i unchecked it and hit delete. unfortunately no option came up about moving it to the recycle bin, it just deleted it from my library. Any ideas where i could find this deleted item? thanks

  • Finding deleted items in the wastebasket

    Dear all
How can I find items I deleted on the blackberry in the wastebasket?
It works with my professional email-account on an enterprise server, but not with my private email account that uses imap (in particular: imap.1und1.de). I already tried to mark the wastebasket as "folder to sync", but that was not possible. I also tried to define another folder that was marked "to sync" as wastebasket. However, after that definition that particular folder was not marked as "to sync" anymore.
To avoid misunderstandings: I do not need to open the wastebasket on the blackberry, but I need the possibility to regain deleted items at the desktop at the very latest. I really like to use travelling time to tidy up my email accounts, but this is very risky, if deleted items are gone forever with no chance to remediate mistakes.
I use OS 10.3.1.1565, but I had that problem before the update as well.
Thank you very much for any recommendations!
    Eva

    Correct.
How do I view or restore selected items?

  • Find Related Items Help

I have two tables: (condensed version of Subject) Subject and MessageSubject
    CREATE TABLE [dbo].[Subject](
    [SubjectID] [int] IDENTITY(1,1) NOT NULL,
    [Name] [nchar](80) NULL,
    [Active] [bit] NULL
    ) ON [PRIMARY]
    CREATE TABLE [dbo].[MessageSubject](
    [MessageSubjectID] [int] IDENTITY(1,1) NOT NULL,
    [MessageID] [int] NOT NULL,
    [SubjectID] [int] NOT NULL
    ) ON [PRIMARY]
Not shown is the table 'Message' but every message has one or more subjects (MessageSubject entries)
What I need to do is find all the subjects that were posted to a message 'with' a a given subject, not including the given SubjectID.
My guess is a #temp table or CTE or something is the way to do it, but I can't seem to find out how to do in SQL:
The procedure below is the format I need it to be (if possible) but here is what I am doing in C# code now:
I currently find all the messages for a given subject:
    Then I have to query all the MessageSubject (subjects) for each message;
IF any subjects were found for a message other than the source SubjectID (related subjects) I check my list of subjects and if the index of the new related subject is not found I add it to the list.
This means I am performing ('x' + 1) number of queries for each Subject where 'x' = the number of messages and 1 query to find all the messages for the subject.
I know there has to be a way to find to find the 'Related Subject', but I can't seem to get my head around it.
    Any help is appreciated, thanks.

  • Finder Deletes items immediately

I was having some issues and while trying to fix it I used a terminal command that I can't remember. Now whenever I want to send a file to the trash, i get a message asking to confirm and that the file will be deleted immediately. If someone could tell me the terminal command to undo that, I would appreciate it.

I had this problem too. Logging out and in again did not recreate the Trash and I was unable to create a new .Trash file with Terminal. The problem appeared to be a wider one: I could not create new files or folders in my Home directory anymore (although I had the permissions to do so).
The solution I found was to reset permissions on the Home folder. To do so:
    - Restart from the (Snow) Leopard dvd.
    - After choosing a language, choose Reset Password from the Utilities menu.
    - Click Reset Home Directory Permissions.
    - Quit the installer and restart.
Your Trash will resume it's normal behavior.

  • Error when deleting file: Could not find this item. This is no longer located in ...

We are setting up a new Windows 2012 server. Users access this server using a 'terminal services'. We have mapped some folders from a legacy server (different domain). Using group policy preferences, we map this folder as a drive for a user.
When user wants to delete some files, he get's the error: 'Could not find this item ..' The error is displayed to the user and it looks like the file can't be deleted. But when I press the F5 (refresh) button, the file is gone. My problem is very similar
to a problem in the following post: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/windowsserver/en-US/042e747a-0e25-4190-b0a2-82f3e9635eb0/can-not-delete-file-error-is-could-not-find-this-item?forum=w7itprogeneral
When I create 'txt' (or 'pdf', 'zip') file, i can delete it without the error. When I create 'xlsx', 'docx', 'pptx', 'bmp', 'jpg', I get the error.
Does somebody have an idea, how can I fix the cause of this problem? (I can't tell to users to hit the F5 button everytime when they face this issue)
Thank you for your help in advance!

    Hi,
Please check if the problematic files’ filename ended with a dot. If so, you could refer to the article below to troubleshoot the issue:

  • Can not delete file. Error is "Could not find this item".

I get the following error when trying to delete a file:  "Item not found".  This is a Word 2007 document that would not save properly so I saved it with a different name.  Now I can't delete the original file.
The body of the error states "Could not find this item.  This is no longer located in... . Verify the item's location and try again.

    Hi,
I'm having exact the same problem with a file with a long name, to delete, move, rename, attribute change, etc. I deleted the file, which I receive the confirmation. However, the file is still there, with zero bytes and no extension. When I try
to delet, move or change the file, I get the error "Could not find this item, This is no longer located in xxx. Verify the item's location and try again."
I tryed everything: Using DOS, there's no 8.3 name format; In safe mode; chkdsk and sfc. Nothing worked.
I also tryed the tricks in http://www.sevenforums.com/general-discussion/27924-could-not-find-item-when-deleting-files-3.html

I took some more time and found this tool on the net "DelinvFile". It works perfectly, after trying EVERYTHING!!!.

  • Help on deleting items

How do I delete items on my mac so that i have more memory on my mac, I have tried moving it to the trash and i have secured empty trash but it don't work, I am using Macbook Air OSX Mavericks.

  • Help please? Outlook 2011 stuck on 'updating message list' after deleting 1000's of emails from my 'deleted items' folder

    Hello.
I've been searching online for an answer and can't find one - hopefully someone can help...
I recently updated to Yosemite and decided on a general clear-out, so went through 1000's of documents, photos, emails, etc. I ended up deleting the all of the emails in my 'deleted items' folder. Since then, when I go into Outlook and hit the 'send/receive' tab it logs on as normal, but then gets stuck on 'updating message list' - it shows me that there are emails and how many, but will not download them.
Does anyone have any experience of this?
    Many thanks!

  • Unable to Delete Folder, Could not find this item

Currently, I'm having problem deleting an old Folder. Previously, I used its parent as a shared folder, but one day when I tried to clear that folder there is one folder that has duplicate. The problem is one of them (the old one) can't be deleted even after
I deleted all files/folders in that folder, I can't remove/rename that folder (could not find this item) not even with cmd as Administrator. I've tried to defrag my Windows Sever 2012 but the problem still persists. How to fix this problem?
    Thanks in advance.

I had this same problem using Server 2012 Std. I tried various options of taking ownership of the parent folder because the Security properties of the folder I was trying to delete were blank, using CMD and Dir /x etc. I even tried sharing
the parent folder and then using Server 2008 R2. None of them worked. When I tried Dir /x Server 2012 doesn't show the 8 character filename with the ~1. I tried typing it in myself, but that didn't work either. I then found that there was a space at the end
of the folder name. I then tried all the CMD options again using a space, still no luck. Then I finally stumbled upon this solution:
    Open CMD and then type:
    rd /s "\\?\D:\bad\folder\path "
example: rd /s "\\?\D:\Sharedata\folder1\folder2 " - note the space after folder2 as per the space in the folder name. Obviously D: is the drive that has the folder on it.
    This worked for me
I've had a similar problem as detailed above; a power shell script that I wrote incorrectly tested for the existence of a directory and created multiple instances of the same directory.
I can confirm that the post from Rayza73 works like a charm!
@Rayza73:  First up thanks for the information.  Would it be possible for you to describe how the command is able to find and delete the directory?
    Many thanks

  • Help finding deleting Photostream photos!!

A few weeks ago I manually deleted most of my Photostream on my iPhone 5S from the late spring/summer so I could make room on my phone for ios8...I thought a copy of the photos in my Photostream would be saved in the cloud. Big mistake. That's not how Photostream works I guess. My photos were permanently deleted from my Photostream everywhere. I have since had to completely restore my phone due to the problems with the 8.01 ios update. Is it possible to go back and find deleted photos from the past?
Note: In my iphoto on my macbook, I used to have a folder for each month of photostream photos (like June 2014 Photosteam, etc.) that automatically synced. Now, because I deleted my Photostream photos, they are no longer there. At some point in time these photos WERE on my camera roll but I deleted them as well because I thought they were in the photo stream...
Anyway, I am clearly confused and want to get my photos back! HELP!!! Please!!!!

Once you delete, and delete from PhotoStream without saving to a non-PhotoStream album, the photos are gone and not recoverable.  Before deleting from PhotoStream, or at least monthly for that matter, it best to save everything to a separate album or folder.  That protects the content as PhotoStream is volatile storage and will be subject not only to your deleting but also iCloud delete-by-rules based on quantity and age of the contents.
Not great news for you but there just isn't anything to do when deletion has been done across the board.

  • Help: API for purging expired and deleted items

    Hi gurus
Is there an API available for purging deleted and expired items? The customer wants to be able to have date controlled deletion of items and the only way I see this happening is to set up a database job (hopefully) calling the purge API - if it exists...
    TIA

    Anja,
You can take a look at the portlet called document management (for 3.0.8) in portals.us.oracle.com. It can do purge expired/deleted items.

  • Deleted Items from External HD Not Appearing in Trash

I have an iomega external hard drive and have had recent issues trying to trash deleted items.
I delete the items and they are removed from the hard drive, but they do not appear in the trash and therefore are unable to be "trashed" so that space is freed up.
I did some research and found that this is most likely an issue with ghost files still present on my external.  Through use of the Terminal, I made hidden files appear on my external, but I was unable to re-delete the items that I had previously deleted/was not even able to find the items I had previously deleted.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.  As mentioned earier, this problem just surfaced.
    Thanks.

I am having the exact same problem with my external, which is used as my iTunes library storage.
When I delete things from iTunes, and select "move to trash", the files do not appear in the trash, as they used to.
The trash stays empty (as in, no items are visible, even though I just deleted things).
Oddly enough, after a restart, the files will appear, and thus are able to be trashed.
Obviously, I do not want to have to restart every time to do this.
I looked through the other thread, and nothing helped.
    Still looking for some answers!

  • Can't Delete Empty Folder in Deleted Items

Running Outlook 2013 on a Windows 8.1 machine. Exchange 2010 on SBS 2011 platform.
I have an empty folder within the deleted items folder. I can manually delete all messages within the deleted items but I cannot get that empty sub folder deleted. My permissions are set to "owner". I'm getting a message that says, "outlook

    Please advise.
