Finding individual notes of a chord using Audition
Hello everyone,
I was wondering whether it is possible to use Audition to find out the individual notes that make up a certain chord. I opened a sound file containing a guitar chord, and used the Frequency Analysis tool, which I hoped would help me identify the different notes (frequencies). The spectrum, however, looks continuous rather than discrete (presumably overtones of all the notes included in the chord) and therefore it doesn't look like this method can help in identifying individual (fundamental) frequencies. Can anyone suggest a way to do this? Many thanks in advance for any help.
If it's a guitar chord, then yes, all the harmonics will get completely in the way of analysing it - and that may well go for Band-with-the-Pox as well. Generally in the past, it's been easier to post a recording of the chord in question and get somebody with ears to work it out for you. When you are used to doing it, the human ear has a remarkably good filtering facility that also includes the ability to synthesise in one's brain what the (often very low level) fundamental notes of a chord actually are, even when hidden by a load of harmonics.

Identifying the individual notes of a piano chord
Hello everyone,
I'm trying to learn how to play a piano piece that I have in a recording and that I don't have the sheet music to (someone's improvisation), so I need to first be able to recognise every note of every chord that I hear, which isn't easy given I'm only a beginning pianist.
I know it's a good ear exercise to transcribe it myself, however this seems like a task that lends itself well to being computerised, so, for the long run, I was wondering if Audition (or some other software?) can be used to do this, i.e. I select a portion of the sound file (corresponding to, say, a chord) and it gives me the individual notes that the chord is made up of.
I'm guessing there would be some margin of error for the output of such an operation, but that the software could tell you an answer with a reasonable statistical confidence.

Ooops, guess I didn't need to post everything in the title - sorry! I bought the pages app - but couldn't save or print so with some online searching found that I had to uninstall the iWork trial which had expired. I did that - but now I can't figure out how to re-install the pages app!! The app store says it's installed, but I can't find it anywhere to open and use it. I'm not very computer savvy - and am a first time Mac user and am getting extremely frustrated! I e-mailed some help center and they can't seem to help me either. I would appreciate any help/advice that can fix my problem - thanks in advance!!
OK Apple has stuffed up the demo version upgrade process so the first thing you need to do is get rid of the demo.
That includes getting rid of the files in the system.
The instructions how to do that are here:
Note That where you see / that is the sequence of folders, each nested inside each other.
User/Library/Preferences the com.apple.iwork.Keynote.plist
Means the User (you, the little home icon, whatever you are called on your computer) then the Library folder inside that and then the Preferences folder inside that.
Lion initially hides the System folders from you so you have to go to the Finder > Menu > hold down the option key and click on GO > Library to see it.

I cannot find videos (not movies) that i have transferred to my macbook pro from an external hard drive, these files used to be on my windows PC. Photos and a few of the videos came over but i am missing the majority of the videos. Help please!!! I have tried omnidisksweeper with no success in finding them.
in my Usage it says i have over 40 gb of movies when i only have about 9gb which i can see using spotlight search. i really hope the other amount is my missing videos! these are videos of my kids as babies.Read this post and do the migration again, putting the library in a portable shape first if necessary.

Where do I find a tutorial about how to use the new iTunes? I have version 11.1.3 (8). I looked on the Apple web site but only found info extolling the virtues of iTunes, not how to use it.
Use it the same way as previously.
ctrl B shows the menus.
ctrl S shows the sidebar.

Tried to install both Firefox 5.0 and 5.0.1, and received the same error message that a file ending in .dylib was in use. I cannot locate that file, and Finder does not recognize it.
I have a Power PC Mac with OS 10.5.8 and Firefox 3.6.28, the latest versions supported on my machine, and all of my plug-ins are the latest versions available for that browser version. I too get the warning message all the time and it is very annoying. I have never had any "security" problems, and I don't go along with this imperative to always be upgrading equipment. Don't these corporate geeks understand that we're in a global economic contraction and a lot of us are unemployed/underemployed? They want us to be good consumers and "switch to a newer computer" but I can't afford that. Like, if I can't fix my old car, I won't be able to drive. Have Mac OS 10.7.4 installed on an iMac-3.1 GHz Intel Core i5...the Finder will not find files on Windows mounted volumes...what setting should we be using...tried the same/working settings as our iMac 10.6.8...did not work for 10.7.4!

The monitor profile is set at system level. Lightroom will find it there and use it. You're not supposed to do anything, i1 Profiler will do it all for you.

Your answer led me to the notes I was seeking.
When I looked at the bottom of the left side in outlook I did not see any icon but I saw a little arrow.
When I clicked on that it I was able to specifiy that I wanted an icon for notes.
When I added the icon, I was able to click on the icon and find my notes. -
When I opened the app I selected do not allow, to use my contacts, but now realise I should have allowed it. I have uninstalled and reloaded it, but it will not ask me to use my contacts again. Any ideas as now I see e mail names and not just the persons name.
If you go to Settings > Notes > Default Account you will see "On My iPhone" as the default account and the only choice if you have not enabled syncing Notes in Settings >iCloud or Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars. If you have enabled syncing you can still select "On My iPhone" as the default account. When you are in the Notes app you won't see any accounts listed if you have not enabled syncing because they are all in the On My iPhone account and that is the only place possible. It is not a folder that you create.
