Finding IP Printer's IP Address?

This used to be simpler in OS9 I believe ! Or at least it was simpler when I used a Linksys router, but I am having a very difficult time finding the IP addresses of eitehr wireless and ethernet connected printers or computers on my home network connected via my Time Capsule. I've looked through the Network System panel, the airport utility, but it just escapes me...
Why isn't there an easy utility to view connected IP addresses? In Linksys, I could just connect to the router with Safari and could get control of the user interface...
My Xerox printer is too old for Bonjour, so that doesn't work..
Is there a utility or third party util that works?
BTW, my Desktop is bluetooth only...
Thanks
Jeff

How can I look at static IP addresses in the Time Capsule? I have (2) statics coming into the physical ports, and one wireless static. I can only look at wireless clients and DHCP assigned IP addresses.
Several months from now I will either forget or lose my network map and not know what is hooked to physical ports 1 and 2. These devices are hard wired from other rooms inside the walls, tracing the wires could be a problem. Shouldn't there be an easy way to see ALL IP addresses connected to the Time Capsule? I expect there is . . . and that's why I am a newb
Thanks!

    Hello cstace22,
I would try power cycling the printer to start with resolving your connection issue. While the printer is still on, unplug the power cord from the printer, leave it unplugged for 30 seconds, then reconnect the power cord to the printer. Once plugged back in the printer should power on automatically.
If you are still experiencing issues after this has been done then you may want to try restoring your network defaults and then reconnecting to your wireless network.
    Hope this helps.

    Hello jollygene,
You can find the printer's email address two different ways.  The first way is to log into ePrintCenter.com and look on the printer's page for the email address.  The second way is to touch the ePrint button on the front panel and it will display all of the printers web services information.

  • I have a HP C309a and can't find my printer's email address

How can I find the email address for a C309a?

    Hi,
    From this statement
“When you buy a new HP printer you will register it with HP’s ePrint centre and get an email address for the printer. This makes the whole thing about what device and OS do I have, and what driver do I need, totally irrelevant.”
I think you need to rehister your printer to get an email address for it.

  • Finding My Printer's IP Address

Since I am trying to print to a printer that is on a network, I need its IP address to add it to my Mac. How can I find the IP address of my printer?
    Thanks,
    Mason

    Hi.
Is it a Network Printer, a printer attached to other computer on your network, or a printer connected to a print server?
    Assuming it's a network printer, you've got at least two ways to find it's ip address, one is by opening your router's configuration page, and looking at the DHCP clients list. Another way is using Terminal, at the prompt ping your ip address, but replacing the last set of numbrs by 255;
i.e: if your ip address is 168.192.2.3, you type: ping 168.192.2.255 and it will list all the connected clients to the network (end the command with ctrl-c).
If it's attached to another computer, it just shares the computer ip address.

    Hi,
From the printer Front panel, navigate to Setup. Locate and enter Web Services.  Aprove any of the steps to enable the service... allow the device several minutes to complete the registration, a page will print automatically with the printer code and the directions to select the email address from hpeprint.com.

  • Trouble adding printer to HP ePrint Home and Biz iPhone app - can't find printer's email address

I'm trying to connect my HP Photosmart c6380 to my iPhone. I already downloaded the app and my printer is connected to my wireless network, as is my iPhone, but I can't add my printer to the app.
When I go to "Manage ePrinters" and try to add a printer with the + button I see 3 choices:
Add ePrinter from list: "No ePrinters available"
Add Manually: I can't find the printer's email address even using the instructions found at the ePrint center.
Add from WiFi Network: My printer isn't shown in this list so it does not support auto discovery.
So I'm guessing that if I could just find my printer's email address that would connect it to my iPhone for wireless printing, but I can't for the life of me find it.
    Any help is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks.

    Hello amybett,
I have bad news and good news. The bad news is that your printer is not Airprint/ePrint capable. However, the good news is that with the HP ePrint Home and Biz iPhone app it does not need to be Airprint/Eprint capable, as long as it is connected to the same network as your phone.
Here are the steps you will want to take to print something:
    1. Setup the app by completing the email registration and entering the code (which I believe you have).
    2. Select the item you wish to print using the menu in the app (Photo Albums, Saved Files, Web Browser, etc.).
    3. Once you select the item you should see the item and a large "Print" button under it.
    4. If the printer you want to print to is not listed above the "Print" button, select the icon on the right (wrench/computer) and select the printer you wish to use (along with other settings).
    5. Tap on the "Back" button in the top left corner, then tap "Done" (blue button in the top right corner), and then tap the "Print" button to print your item.
Let me know if you are still having trouble after following the guide above.

  • My printer's IP address isn't showing up on my config report!

I have quite an annoying problem:
I've been trying to connect my printer wirelessly for a while now, but the same problem keeps coming up: I can't seem to find my printer's IP address! I've printed out many config reports through my printer, and I've scoured the Web looking for a solution to my problem. There's no firewall up on my router, it's just the bloody  IP address that won't reveal itself! I have about had it, so if anybody could propose a solution to this problem, that would be tremendous.
    Thank you!

    Hello,
May i have the printer model# to assist you better ?
Meanwhile you may perform the below steps ...
To configure the new wireless settings on a printer that features a Wireless Setup Wizard:
From the printer’s control panel, open the Wireless Settings menu. Many products provide access to the Wireless Settings by pressing the Wireless Button or touching the Wireless icon on the printer’s control panel. Consult the printer’s help documentation if you do not know how to access the Wireless Settings menu.
From the Wireless Settings menu select Wireless Setup Wizard. The Wireless Setup Wizard will guide you through the process of configuring your printer with the new wireless settings. Input your Wireless Network Name and Wireless Password when prompted.
You can print a Wireless Network Test report from the Wireless settings menu to confirm the printer was successfully connected to your network.

  • Why is my LaserJet CP1025nw color printer's IP address is 0.0.0.0.?

My printer's IP address is 0.0.0.0. I can't connect it to eprint because whenever I enter it in a new browser like the help center told me too, my search engine searches it. I can't find my printer's email address!

'LaserJet: Print a configuration page from your printer to locate the IP address. Open a Web browser and type the product IP address into the address line. The HP-embedded Web Server will open. Click the HP Web Services tab. Select the option to enable Web Services. When Web Services are enabled, ePrint information appears in the HP Embedded Web Server. Look for the e-mail address that is automatically assigned to the product. The product also prints an HP Web Services page that contains this e-mail address and instructions for using the service.'
The section in red doesn't work as the config sheet just shows 0.0.0.0 as the IP Address which doesn't open the Web Server. Some detailed advice would be good rather than links to not particularly helpful internal help pages. I'm amazed HP expect you to be manually imputting IP addresses to get ePrint to work.

  • How to hide or rename the HP Printer's Mac address from Lion Finder Sidebar

I have an HP d100a all in one printer, and since upgrading to OSX 10.7 (Lion), my printer's mac address shows up in the Finder Sidebar under Shared devices. I understand this is for the printers SD card slot to be shared over my network, however the name is not user friendly.
Is there a way to rename what is displayed in the Finder window, from the devices mac address to a friendlier name?
If not, is there a way to disable the sharing of the SD card slot so it is hidden from the sidebar completely?
I have found several posts from people not knowing what this entry is, but I have not managed to find any posts that explain how to rename or hide the entry.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have also registered to this forum to inform that the problem with showing the MAC-address in the sidebar of the finder is still not solved.
The strange thing is that the Embedded Web Server says:
"This specifies the Bonjour domain name assigned to the device, in the form <host name>.local. If a user-specified host name has not been assigned, the default host name HPxxxxxx is used, where xxxxxx are the last 6 digits of the LAN hardware (MAC) address. This option cannot be modified."
But I did assign a user-specified host name and that name does show-up everywere (also within Bonjour), except in the sidebar of the finder (hp###xx##x####). Lots of people have the same issue, when searching on the interet, but not one has found the solution.
Please help with solving this issues?

  • Cannot find AirPrint printer PhotoSmart 6510

I want to add a new HP6510 wireless printer onto my iMac, iPad2 and iPhone 4s, but it does not appear in either the list of printers in settings or list of AirPrint printers.
I have an iMac running Lion (OS X v 10.7.2), and both iPad and iPhone are update on IOS 5.0.1.  All three are connected to the same home wireless network (all access internet okay and are assigned an IP address 192.168.1.**).  The router is an N-series HUAWEI EchoLife HG532 on firmware v1.08a.  I am using MAC filtering on an open SSID.
I have downloaded latest version of software for the HP printer and installed software, but not able to find the printer unless connected via USB.  I have uninstalled and reinstalled at least three times, rebooted the network router, iMacs, iPhone and iPads
Please help - I was hoping this would be much simpler having just migrated over from windows.

You'll want to contact tech support for your router. The iPad and iPhone use Bonjour (mdns) in order to find printers. A google search on your router shows that it does not properly support Bonjour:

  • HP Deskjet 3050a cannot find network printer

I need to find out what my IP address is for my printer.  I may have changed it accidently when I was trying to set up my printer to a new router.  I have reset the default settings.  I have tried to go to HP file where it says I can change my IP address and I get the error "cannot find network printer".  I have done all of the obvious deinstall, reinstall, added MAC address to router. Nothing will recognize my printer.  Please help.  Thank you

    Hello again,
OK, thanks for the updated information.  Try these steps...
    Changing wireless settings
If you decide to change the wireless network settings for your wireless home network, you will need to configure your wireless printer with the new settings.
To configure your wireless settings on a printer that does not feature a Wireless Setup Wizard:
First, make sure your computer is connected to your network. You will also need a USB cable, which is temporarily used during the configuration. Be sure NOT to connect the USB cable between the computer and printer until instructed to do so by the software.
If your HP printer software is already installed on your computer Windows XP, Windows Vista or Windows 7:
    Use Start -> Programs -> HP -> <your printer model> -> Printer Setup & Software. Windows 8:
Launch the Printer Software from the Start screen (icon for the printer model name) or from the tile named for your printer.
Select (click or touch) Utilities on the top of the Printer Software screen
    Select Printer Setup & Software
    Also,
