Finding Lost Alias's

I have to create an alias for a plug in on a non system drive, to be placed in my plug in folder in my system drive. Fine no problem, but on my first attempt, as I dragged the alias to the plug in folder, I accidently dropped it and I can not find where it went. This plug in will not work if there are two alias's of it. When I search the computer in the Finder or Spotlight, only the original file shows up and not the alias's I made of it. There must be a way to search for alias's, so I can trash the one I accidently dropped. Can anyone show me how to do this??

Itunes: i want to find a single fix for missing music on itunes rather than using "iTunes: Finding lost media and downloads" on a case by case basis.

recently when i was creating a playlist, i realized that i was missing music from my extensive itunes (12.0.1.26) library. i found the solution "itunes: finding lost media and downloads" and used the general approach to find the music in finder and copy it to itunes. i don't want to do this every time i find i am missing music. is there an automated fix? i want apple to develop a way to automate the fix. can it be that this isn't a problem for many people?
i ask this now because i just looked for music i thought i had but can't find. maybe i am wrong about having the artist, but it has happened on another artist too. i can't trust itunes to tell me whether i have a song or not. i don't want to keep going back to finder, especially when the instructions in "itunes: finding lost media and downloads" doesn't actually reflect my system (os x 10.7.5).
i don't want to try to do a restore. i have never done a restore on my mac (previously a pc user). and, i don't know how far back to take the restore to find the old music. and then music i have added since i lost the old music wouldn't be there.
i understand that there are so many system variables that apple would need to take into consideration with a general fix. but: i am assuming that apple's changes have caused my problem and feel that apple should do something to fix it. perhaps my assumption is incorrect.

limnos, i always have backups. the problem is that i don't know how far back in time to take a restore because i don't know how long this has been going on. and, if i take the restore back very far, i will lose what has been added since the music started to disappear.
i don't even know what you mean when you say "you will check there aren't any broken links (use a script from the Dougscripts web site) before you do a backup."
i agree with you to some extent about not automatically installing upgrades. i'm still running lion and was pushed to it from snow leopard. the problem is that i have a hard time envisioning the changes described in an update to judge whether something is valuable or not.
i have questions about your last paragraph. i'm going to repeat it here and then insert my questions as i go. please forgive my all caps for the moment:

IT WAS ONLY AFTER RE-IMPORTING SEVERAL CD'S THAT I REALIZED THAT THERE WERE NOW DUPLICATES OF THE CD'S: THE FILES I HAD JUST LOADED AND THOSE THAT I HAD LOADED SOME TIME AGO. THE ORIGINALS MAGICALLY APPEARED AFTER I RE-IMPORTED THE CD'S. I'M GUESSING THAT THIS IS AN EXAMPLE OF A BROKEN LINK I DON'T KNOW HOW TO RECOGNIZE A BROKEN LINK OR HOW TO PREVENT ONE. BPEL Correlation: ORABPEL-03812 Cannot find property alias.

I have created a BPEL process, that places a message into a JMS queue, and waits to receive a response in anoter JMS queue.
In both the request and response message types, there is a uuid field, that has been populated initially with generateGUID() function etc.
I plan to correlate based on this value.
I am using correlation sets to correlated to the BPEL instance using the uuid field in the request and response fields.
Ive gone by the book i.e. BPEL developer guide, in creating the Correlation set, property, property aliases etc.
I am able to successfully compile and deploy the process.
But on execution of the BPEL instance i get error as follows.
<default.collaxa.cube> <BaseCubeSessionBean::logError> Error while invoking bean "cube delivery": Cannot find property alias.
Cannot find the property alias "{http://pli.techm.com/JMSAsyncSyncProcess/correlationset}jms_uuid", message type "".
Please check your BPEL/WSDL source to make sure that property alias "{http://pli.techm.com/JMSAsyncSyncProcess/correlationset}jms_uuid" has been defined.

I solved the problem too :)
In the outbound jms adapter call, where the correlation is be started, there is an in|out|in-out attribute that needs to be set to out. probabaly signifies the outbound message from that node.

No, nothing has changed at all.
There is no secret "device".
Apple and Google and others simply collect data from PHONES. This is nothing new at all and has nothing to do with ipods.

I am sorry to hear that you lost your iPad Air 2. You will only see the last location if it has been off for less than 24 hours. Anything longer than that, it will not show up using the Find My feature. Take a look at the article below for more information.

Do you have a backup of it on your computer's iTunes ? If you do then try going into Edit > Preferences on your computer's iTunes and on the Devices tab hover your mouse pointer over the backup name, that should give you the MEID number : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4061

There is no wasy to find it without wi-fi.
Wi-fi ius the ONLY way the ipod touch has to locate it.
ipods have no GPS or any other method of location.

But if it's offline (i.e., doesnt' have a connection to the internet) there's nothing you can do except wait until it's online again (if ever). You can play a sound or initiate Lost Mode (http://help.apple.com/icloud/#mmfc0f0165) if you want, but this can only be executed when/if it goes online again.

I've lost several iMovie clips from my iMovie, The Library list on the left on the screen still displays the titles, but when I click on them the window displays the title with "empty" next to it.
I've tried restoring from my Time Machine back-up external disk but the results remain the same.
I've tried looking at my iCloud account and can't see any movies there at all, including in iCloud Drive.
I upgraded to iMovie 10.0.6 and it seems to have happened since then.
Unfortunately the missing movies have been deleted from my camera so I can't reload them.
I have uploaded some movie clips recently and they've worked fine.
Is there any other way I might be able to recover these missing files?

I've now recovered the missing files, however I have a further problem which I'm hoping someone can help with.
I have just recovered some video clips which I had accidentally deleted. For some reason the recovered files couldn't be read by iMovie but when I tried iPhoto they did transfer into that. It took hours though.
Now the movies are there they are showing as "clip" type with a unique number allocated to each clip.
I want to bring them into iMovie so that I can include them with iMovie clips which are already there.
I can't find a way to either send them to iMovie or import them into iMovie from iPhoto.
If I want to use clips from both iMovie and iPhoto am I able to import them so I can compile a movie?

Is there any collective way to have Lightroom 5 find lost files?

Though I have tried to move folders and files only with Lightroom, I note that a good number of my images shown in thumbnails in Library cannot be opened because Lightroom 5 cannot find the files. I assume I have moved files among drives accidentally without Lightroom's knowledge. I also note that I can control click and try to find individual files. Is there any way to do this find process for entire folders or drives? Can I import files from a drive (which is the original source of the lost files) in mass and run them through the import function on Lightroom and return them directly to the file from which they were imported? Would this create a new thumbnail in Library but duplicate the files in the affected folder and drive?

Lightroom isn't going to allow you to import images a second time. In the left-hand panel of the library module you can Ctrl-click on a folder and choose to update the folder location or find the missing folder. Have you tried that?
