Finding lost code in project

HI, using Flash cs3, due to client reasons I have to publish
in flash 8, actionscript 2 and here's my problem:
I've got some code that was placed in the wrong spot which
sends one of my buttons to the wrong part of the timeline. I can't
find the behaviour code that's making that happen.
Is there an "all document code finder" kind of thing or do I
just have to delete it all and start over?
I was trained the old way; placing commands on buttons and
now I see why they say not to do that.

You can use the "Find and Replace" item in the Edit menu.
Select any window except the Actions window, and then open "Find
and Replace". If you are in the Actions window you will get a
different "Find" window that will only search the current script
window.

How to find lost code?

Hi,
I inherited a flash file. It uses arrow keys to advance from scene to scene, so I know there is probably some key listener code somewhere. But I can't find the code! Is there a way to view all code in the document and where it is stored? Or is there a document level area for code that I'm not seeing? I just started using CS4 and I'm not sure of all the new features.

You can use Window > Movie Explorer to find all the code that is inside a file. It won't show #include or external scripts, but it will show where they are used.
You might need to got to the panel menu and select, "Show symbol definitions." You will also need to be sure that the actionscript button is toggled in the show area.

The backups for your version are date-time stamped as the name and with an extension of .fcpproject. They look like this.
The original project is named CurrentVersion.fcpproject.
You need to replace the CurrentVersion with the backup file and rename it to be CurrentVersion.fcpproject.
With FCPX closed, I suggest you move the original to the Trash, but not empty it. Then promote your backup one level higher in the project folder hierarchy (to be at the same level that the original previously occupied. Then rename the backup.
Open up FCPX, which should now recognize your project.

It is probably broken. You can try restoring it using Recovery Mode, but if that fails its time for a new phone. After all, it is 4 generations out of date. See: Recovery Mode

How to find the code for a lost Mac App gift card?

I received a Back-to-School gift card with my purchase of my laptop that had $100 on it back in 2012. I used it once last year to purchase Roller Coaster Tycoon 3 Platinum. I wanted to buy The Sims 2 yesterday, but I had to update the version of OS X I had to run the program. I had to wait overnight to let it update since I had school in the morning. Long story short, the card somehow disappeared over night and I've been searching like crazy this morning to find it. To no avail, it didn't show up. I was wondering if there is any way I could find the code somewhere since I had made a purchase on it a while ago. I was able to view the purchase through iTunes, but I wasn't able to find a code. Version 5.5 was/is not part of the Cloud, so you could not have subscribed to that version
You install version 5.5 on a 2nd computer exactly the same way you did the 1st time... put the disc in the drive and enter your serial number when asked

Help! I lost my old projects, and old videos that were stored on imovie when I upgraded to Yosemite. It asked if I wanted to upgrade my projects, etc., but now they are not showing up even after I clicked that option!!! Please help! Thank you!

The steps below may help get your events and projects to appear in iMovie.
Verify that the latest iMovie update is installed.
Open the Mac App Store.
Click the Updates tab.
Click Update All or the Update button that appears next to iMovie.
After verifying that you have the latest version of iMovie, you can update your projects and events by following these steps.
In the Finder, click the Go menu and choose Home.
Open the Movies folder.
In the iMovie Projects and iMovie Events folders, you’ll find a file named “UpdatedtoiMovie10.” Move this file to the Trash from both folders.
Open iMovie.
Choose File > Update Projects and Events.
iMovie will update your projects and events. You can repeat these steps for projects and events stored on external drives.

Unfortunately, we don't have a solution as yet, other than following baldric007's advice above regarding using a Time Machine backup (if you have one, or another type of backup).
To summarise for other members here - Projects disappear from iMovie's Project Library, but are still listed in Finder in the Movies/iMovie Projects folder. Double-clicking on the project in Finder opens iMovie, but the project itself doesn't open. Personally, I've also tried to open the project in Final Cut Pro X to no avail (iMovie projects can normally be imported to FCP X). In my case, FCP X quit when I tried to import the project.
As a safeguard (even if you are running a backup), it is advisable to create a duplicate of your current project before closing iMovie and shutting down. There is no guarantee that the duplicate won't also disappear from the Project Library though. To create a duplicate, while in Project Library view (not Edit view), click on the project in the list, then in iMovie's menu select File > Duplicate Project. A copy will be placed in the Project Library with the same name as the original, but with a number appended. You can change the name if desired.
To ensure that Apple is advised of this problem by as many as possible, from iMovie's menu select "iMovie > Provide iMovie Feedback" and complete the online form.

Where will i find the code to unlock my ipad?

I lost my ipad and found it again after 6 months...yey! We used another ipad to track it but now i need to enter a passcode of which i cannot find.
Any ideas where i find the code? I never got chance to upload icloud so i cannot access it through that. I'm at a loss of what to do next.

Only you will know the passcode, it's not stored anywhere. If you've forgotten it then you will need to connect the iPad to the computer that you normally sync to and you should then be able to reset the iPad and re-sync your content to it (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1212) - you may need to put the iPad into recovery mode : http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1808
If you do it via a different computer then :
If you restore on a different computer that was never synced with the device, you will be able to unlock the device for use and remove the passcode, but your data will not be present.

In se 38 when u open ur program,in the application toolbar u have a button beside the where-used list button as display object list.on clicking this button,a window will be opened at the left most corner for repository browser,in this u can find any tranasctions,fileds,screens,dictionary structures defined for the program.
if any transaction is created for the program u can find it under the transaction folder.

Itunes: i want to find a single fix for missing music on itunes rather than using "iTunes: Finding lost media and downloads" on a case by case basis.

recently when i was creating a playlist, i realized that i was missing music from my extensive itunes (12.0.1.26) library. i found the solution "itunes: finding lost media and downloads" and used the general approach to find the music in finder and copy it to itunes. i don't want to do this every time i find i am missing music. is there an automated fix? i want apple to develop a way to automate the fix. can it be that this isn't a problem for many people?
i ask this now because i just looked for music i thought i had but can't find. maybe i am wrong about having the artist, but it has happened on another artist too. i can't trust itunes to tell me whether i have a song or not. i don't want to keep going back to finder, especially when the instructions in "itunes: finding lost media and downloads" doesn't actually reflect my system (os x 10.7.5).
i don't want to try to do a restore. i have never done a restore on my mac (previously a pc user). and, i don't know how far back to take the restore to find the old music. and then music i have added since i lost the old music wouldn't be there.
i understand that there are so many system variables that apple would need to take into consideration with a general fix. but: i am assuming that apple's changes have caused my problem and feel that apple should do something to fix it. perhaps my assumption is incorrect.

limnos, i always have backups. the problem is that i don't know how far back in time to take a restore because i don't know how long this has been going on. and, if i take the restore back very far, i will lose what has been added since the music started to disappear.
i don't even know what you mean when you say "you will check there aren't any broken links (use a script from the Dougscripts web site) before you do a backup."
i agree with you to some extent about not automatically installing upgrades. i'm still running lion and was pushed to it from snow leopard. the problem is that i have a hard time envisioning the changes described in an update to judge whether something is valuable or not.
i have questions about your last paragraph. i'm going to repeat it here and then insert my questions as i go. please forgive my all caps for the moment:

No. Apple only keeps the pdf file for a book for 30 days. Without the library and book project you won't be able to reorder the same book.
