Finding Older Quicktime Versions using Vista

I am trying to add the iTunes software to my new laptop using the Vista Home Premium operating system. Everytime I go to load the software it comes up with the message "The older version of Quicktime could not be removed." I have searched everywhere I can think of and I still can not get iTunes to load which locks me out of my iPod. Any suggestions as to how fix this??? I have deleted and uninstalled all iPod programs from the disk as well as the download. Please help.

Does that WMI query grab all installed software? When I check via WMI I get many pieces of software, but some appear to not be registered there, e.g. adobe flash player. most identify in both queries, however some show up in WMI but not in the
registry and v/v.

Now I need to find filtered IE versions on AD computers. I am pretty sure that MAPT could help to accomplish that.
1. Yes or No?
2. I didn't install it yet... in case of YES in 1 could somebody please provide steps for filtering IE only in the GUI.

Converting to older quicktime versions?

I have a program on a PC that requires Quicktime 6. The problem is, when I uninstalled QT 7 and installed QT 6, my iMovie file stopped playing. Can QT 6 not play video files created with the newest iMovie?
I create movies in iMovie (HD 6, on a MBP) which I need to run in Quicktime 6. What does it take to make this work? Can the newest iMovie export as a QT 6 file or something?

the main new codec, which is QT7 only is h264...
a .mov file containing such encoded material will be "plain white" plus audio...
so, in the share/Quicktime/Expert Settings, you can choose any other codec...
.. that should result in a file, older QT version will accept... mpeg4, sorenson, mjpeg.. whatever... (depends on content of video....)

Removing current Quicktime installation (tu use older quicktime version)

Hi! I've had the need to use an older version of Quicktime, as the version 7.1.3 and all older do not support flash.
Current version of Quicktime is 7.5.5. I am on Leopard 10.5.5.
Please take note, by Flash I mean .SWF file, NOT .flv or any other flash video. I really mean animation. Otherwise Perian would have already dealt with it.
I have found older versions on the site : mac.oldapps.com
I tried searching on the Apple Support page but I got trouble and lost myselft there, so I looked at mac.oldapps.com after.
I tired running the installer, but it informed me that it can't install Quicktime as another most recent versions is already installed (my current 7.5.5).
Then I tried to remove Quicktime, but Quicktime is a massive underlying system under OS X, and I couldn't find any suitable uninstaller.
Somebody here : http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=467315 said to use Pacifist, which I already have but I don't understand how I can use pacifist to downgrade Quicktime with an older uninstaller.
If anyone has any hint on downgrade Quicktime with style, please contribute! It would be appreciated.
As for playing SWF in Quicktime, I am 'taping' them using Snapz. The problem is to set the window to a good file size, and then playing it. Saving it in fully uncompressed gives you more chances to recompress the rendered file if you miss first time.

Where Can I find Older Software version such as Hyperion 8.5

Beleive it not I still have Brio Enterprise Server running and would like to bring it up to at least 8.5? Any Clues... Can I make a light year to EPM from BRIO 6.6??? Any response would be helpful.

Finding java version used from compiled code

Is there a way to find the java version used to compile the java file from the compiled files,i.e., class files?

that information is encapsulated within the .class file, I don't think so.
The class file has a minor_version/major_version field.
However using jikes and sun jdk 1.3.1 both produce a version number of 45.3. According to a footnote in the JVM spec that corresponds to a class file format for java of 1.0.2. And both obviously are newer than that version of java.
Based on that I don't think one can expect those numbers to changed based on the java version but rather on any changes in the class file itself.

Cannot Find Compatible Quicktime MPEG-2 Player

Is there a compatible MPEG-2 player for Quicktime 7.1.6 running under Windows 2000 Pro? All support for this O/S seems to be non-existent.

Your QuickTime version is correct for your OS and you should not try to update that version.
The Apple Store sells the QuickTime MPEG-2 Playback Component ($20) but it could be it is not compatible with that older QuickTime version. It was recently updated and maybe the older versions were removed.

Quicktime version for OS X 10.4.8

Hello,
I am a sound engineer and use a version of ProTools which requires Mac OS X 10.4.8.
In order to do that, I setup Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger from the install DVD and then update the OS with a standalone version of the PPC 10.4.8 Combo update.
Now, whilst everything works fine, Quicktime doesn't and I do need the Pro version I paid for. I deleted it and now cannot find a Quicktime version which will work with 10.4.8.
Obviously, neither updating ProTools or Mac OS X is an option.
Can you please point me at a suitable download or solution in order for me to do my work?

Where are the older baseline versions of iAS?

Since the redesign of the download areas, it got almost impossible to find older software versions back (somehow I always end up among the 10g stuff). Does anyone know where I can find the iAS9i rel.2 version 9.0.3.x.x?

Unfortunately, this sort of trouble has gotten more complicated to deal with ever since Microsoft pulled the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from their Download Center on June 25. First we have to find a copy of the utility.
Let's try Googling. (Best not to use Bing, I think.) Look for a working download site for at least version 3.0 of the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (The results from mydigitallife and Major Geeks are worth checking.)
After downloading the utility installer file (msicuu2.exe), scan the file for malware, just in case. (I use the free version of Malwarebytes AntiMalware to do single-file scans for that.)
If the file is clean, to install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you've downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any QuickTime entries and click "Remove".
Quit out of CleanUp. Restart the PC, and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

Airport Extreme (older A1034) Dial-Up using Vista

I have an older iMac and use an Airport Extreme model A1034 to connect via dial-up to the internet via the airport's built in modem. I have networked a friend's notebook, which running windows Vista, so we can share files, etc. Is there a way to have Vista use the airport's modem to connect to the internet?
