Finding parts from outside vendors(contact resellers)
why am i not able to find 403884-001 part number on reseller sites.. and why is it not part of HP list of parts.
this hinge is not unique for hp laptops .... Where can I find a set at reasonable price?
The hinges are unique to the dv8000 series. I struck out finding any for less than about $60. The unit never sold in high volume and is getting some age on it I am afraid. Parts are scarce. HP only stocks parts for a limited time and I suspect this laptop has gone past that time.

how to contact the Dubai technical support for Iphone from outside Dubai
If you purcased your iPhone from one of the UAE cell carriers, you will need to find the support number for the carrier, Etisalat or DU, from which you purchased the iPhone. If you purchased your iPhone from the online Apple Store in the UAE, you can find their phone number here:

How to contact UK Apple Support from outside UK?
Is there a support phone number to call from outside UK?
The toll-free phone number cannot be dialed from outside UK.
There is also no online contact (mail, chat).
I would also send the phone by mail on my expense, but there's no address...Come on, do you really think I didnt tried that...?
There's only a phone line that works WITHIN UK, and an online repair request with mail-in service that works ONLY WITHIN UK.
I need to contact support from OUTSIDE UK, because I'm on the continent at the moment. -

Remote Screen Sharing (VNC) from outside of my LAN
I often have to connect to my parents' Macs to help them out with various things. I commute between two cities and stay with them when I'm there.
(I set up a dynamic hostname with DynDNS to point to our router, which defaults to port 443, which on the home network is reserved for the QNAP NAS that's set up. I set the router up to be reachable at port 455 but I'm not sure if it is successfully sending IP address updates to DynDNS. I don't see a way to check if it is. DynDNS seems to require a paid account for that functionality and my routers log is also not very helpful. In short, I'm having trouble getting the whole dynamic DNS thing to work reliably with our router, which is otherwise a great little box: a Fritz!Box Fon WLAN 7390).
I use Jolly's Fast VNC (http://goo.gl/UmllQ) to connect to a personal server and that works wonderfully, but then there the details are taken care of for me by my provider and I just have to type in the details.
What I'd really love is something like Edovia's Screens (http://www.edovia.com/)... except for the Mac rather than the iPhone/iPad (though I do own an iPhone copy of it and it's wonderful).
We do share a MobileMe subscription in the family, but that's not very helpful here either.
So far, we've used iChat, Skype screen sharing and I often end up using TeamViewer because of its speed and near non-existant setup.
My goal is to find a way to connect to my parents' Macbooks even when they are not around so I can help them out with problems while they may not even be around. The key here is that I want to be able to control their screens without needing any action on their part.
Suggestions for the simplest possible way to do this are very welcome.I didn't know TeamViewer could be set up to be accessible without a second user having to be around to give me the session ID and password. I wonder if it's worth looking into that if LogMeIn Free with its server always running is a perfectly acceptable solution? Any advantages to using TeamViewer's solution?
The free LogMeIn account does NOT allow file transfer. The free for personal use TeamViewer does.
LogMeIn server hides in the background, so it is less likely your parents will Quit LogMeIn.com, were as TeamViewer looks like just another app, so they might Quit from it to get it out of the way.
Of course if you need to transfer a file (or 2), you could use DropBox.com for that, and it is a very easy way to transfer files between systems. Or you could store the file on your MobileMe account in a public place, then via LogMeIn copy the file from your public space into your Parent's Mac(s). Or your could use LogMeIn to start TeamViewer, and then use TeamViewer to transfer the file.
Basically once you can start applications on your Parent's Mac(s), you can use any number of utilities for transferring data.
We do have MobileMe. I was under the impression that the way Back to my Mac works is that it will show you YOUR remote Macs in the Finder's sidebar. You know, ones that you're also logged in with YOUR MobileMe credentials. We all use our own, unique MobileMe accounts. Am I missing something?
Yes, all the Macs would need to use the same MobileMe account. Do you all really need separate accounts? Maybe a Family account.
I could deal with the port forwarding and DynDNS but I'll have to set that up to remotely administer my router and NAS, which is turning out to be quite the pain. So if I can simplify, I will. LogMeIn or TeamViewer will do the trick just fine.
Port forwarding is a once and done thing for your parent's router. It allows you to get to their Macs from outside their home. It should have nothing to do with remote admin, or your router and NAS. Also once you can Screen Share your parent's Mac, you can then use that Mac to talk from the inside to their router. Although one must be very careful about making router config changes as one "Oops" and you could loose your remote access, and have to visit Mom and Dad to get physical access
By the way, I've been using VNC/Screen Sharing and AFP file sharing over ssh tunnels in conjunction with port forwarding on the destination router for years. I do this, even though it is more work, because it was available long before most of the above services were available, and because it has a lot more flexibility once you know how to use it. Oh yea, I'm also a Unix software developer and spend a lot of time using ssh anyway -

Here are the facts:
I honestly think you need to change that route statement as it basically says if you want to contact the NARAYASERVER send the packet via the INSIDE interface to the IP address 172.27.17.100
route inside NarayaServer 255.255.255.255 172.27.17.100
interface Ethernet0/1
nameif inside
security-level 100
ip address 172.27.17.100 255.255.0.0
So basically send the packet to yourself (Does not make any sense.. Try to read it so you can understand what I mean.
The NAT 0 is breaking the translation.
access-list inside_nat0_outbound extended permit ip host NarayaServer any
nat (inside) 0 access-list inside_nat0_outbound
Do the following :
access-list inside_nat0_outbound permit ip host NarayaServer OTHER_site_VPN_subnet
no access-list inside_nat0_outbound extended permit ip host NarayaServer any
Then u should be able to connect,
Let me know if you will follow my instructions, otherwise I think I am not helping here
Note: As you already mark the question as answered you could provide kudos (stars) on my next answers

Hello,
I have full representation of the Lync 2010 from Outside (i.e. Internet), but I still have small issue related to Lync-to-Exchange integration. Clients who is using Lync client from outside (i.e. Internet) cannot see Exchange-related information including
Call Logs, Voicemail and Calendar information.
Here is the experience and error messages that anyone will see when connecting to Lync server from Outside:
And this is the error message that will be displayed on Lync phone edition devices (a.g. Polycom CX-700) when connected from Internet:
If somebody can suggest what I can try I would appreciate this very much. I do believe that many other people have this issue as well.
Thanks!Hi, we had this issue and I ended up logging a MS support job. Turns out it was the TMG rule/Auth method causing the issue.
Job details:
**Symptom:
Lync Client External User are not able to retrieve the EWS URL
**Troubleshooting:
• We found External users are not able to Retrieve the EWS information in the Lync Client .
• We found the below error in the ETL logs.We found for EWS request we are getting the 401 response
HTTP/1.1 401 Unauthorized ( The server requires authorization to fulfill the request. Access to the Web server is denied. Contact the server administrator. )
• TMG need pass through Authentication
Public names are autodiscover.domain.com and Outlook anywhere External FQDN and paths are /ews/* and /autodiscover/*, OAB/*
Users is All Users, and Delegation is "No delegation but client may authenticate directly" on the corresponding tabs of the publishing rule.
This changes is required for Lync Client as Lync Client does not work well with this BASIC authentication on TMG .
• After TMG engineer changed this settings in the TMG users are able to see EWS information.

Making a sound recorded inside sound like it is heard from outside
Hi there,
I am trying to make a sound recorded inside sound like it is heard from outside (in the street). Any suggestion about a good filter?
Thanks,
JCD- I hope the inside recording didn't have too much reverberation or 'room tone' (imagine recording it in a washroom). The indoors sound needs to be flat (no echo from walls, no background sound)
- Reverb puts dead sound into a space with walls. You can add reverb, but you can't take it away. If your character is on a football pitch but you record the dialog in a washroom, it's not going to work. If your scene is in the Louvre, and your talent is recorded in a voice-over booth (or in a car or in the bedroom surrounded by blankets - hey it works), you can add the reverb.
- Cut out a lot of the bass frequencies. Nice clean indoor sound has too much of it. The Big Outdoors lacks the reflectors that makes for big boomy sound (remember, big sound can 'sit on the shoulder' of the viewer)
- Add location sound, so if your visual location is windswept moors, then lots of wind noise on the mic. If it's city, then lots of traffic hum, tyre noise, sudden car horns and stuff. Take your VO and pull out the bass, and you're 'there'.
- Match camera perspective to voice perspective. If you did a close mic in a quiet room my guess is that the talent spoke softly and in a measured fashion, so your outdoor shots must be similar OR strikingly different (as if we're seeing into their mind).
- If you need talent to deliver outdoor lines in voice-over (quiet room) for a frenetic environment, mic them up 'distant' and get them to speak loudly. Position yourself (the interviewer) a long way away from the interviewee. Mic them up with a Lav, but make out you're using on-camera mics, so they have to speak up.
- If you're doing foley with amateurs, get them to replay the part with a radio lav (they think it's backup, it's your main) and put the biggest mic you can find as the main mic. Sometimes people need something to act to, and a lav does not cut it. -

: endFor access over VPN you need:
management-access inside
and don't forget:
ssh inside
http inside
I'm guessing you forgot to grant ASDM (http/https) access to the IP addresses used by the VPN? Can you SSH? If not, that is your problem to solve first. -
Open Directory access from outside of network / internet
Hello all,
Got a question I'd love to get some help on, I have some users who are outside of my network and I'd like them to connect into the open directory on our leopard server so they can use the Shared iCal calendars, addresses, etc.
So my questions are A) Is it possible to connect in from outside the network and get access to the directory without having to have a seperate user account and use our VPN every time you want to connect? - if not is this the only way to do it (would you have to connect via the Mac VPN and then connect to the directory?)
B) is it possible to do this "seamlessly" so that you don't have to change any settings, login details each time you switch between your local user from outside the network and your directory access. (so basically if you are in iCal if you have internet access it will connect you to the directory, without you doing anything extra?)
Hope that makes sense, I can't seem to find the answers I need in the manuals, if I knew how this was meant to work I could probably have a fair go at figuring out how to actually do it (firewall changes etc)
Thanks in advance for the help

If your OD server is visible from the internet -- i.e., it has a public address -- then you can do this without the VPN. However, it's not advisable to have a server exposed in that fashion.
You would be better off doing this through the VPN:
- Remote user connects to internet at hotel, for example.
- Remote user initiates VPN connection.
- Remote user now has access to iCal server and directory information.
Explain to the users that this information is private to the company, and private company resources are only available through the VPN. Allowing access without the VPN would be similar to the company posting its Employee roster and meeting calendars on the face of the building where any person (or competitor) could see them.
B) is it possible to do this "seamlessly" so that you don't have to change any settings, login details each time you switch between your local user from outside the network and your directory access. (so basically if you are in iCal if you have internet access it will connect you to the directory, without you doing anything extra?)
It's just one extra step: Connect to VPN. You're still the same local user on the computer.
If you're talking about laptop users needing directory access to authenticate when logging into their computers, well...That sounds like a whole other situation.
Hopefully this helps.

I seem to have lost a sequence created in Premiere Pro CC. I can't find it anywhere inside the Project bin.
We have so many same-name, older projects (between Auto-Save, different drives and so on) that looking inside each of them would take forever.
But we do know the name of the sequence. I am wondering if there is a way to "search" for a sequence name from outside the project?
Thanksthere is a way to "search" for a sequence name outside of the project,
but it would be a pointless waste of time.
sequences are only saved within the project file itself!!
We have so many same-name, older projects (between Auto-Save, different drives and so on) that looking inside each of them would take forever.
better get at it then!

STATIC IP issues from outside of firewall
Hi
I’m having one issue, we have static IP and we NAT the same to some local IP for our internal needs. Whenever we tried to reach the static IP from outside of firewall(some other network), it is working properly. But when we try to ping or use that static IP in internal LAN that is not working.
192.168.0.149 is internal LAN I have NAT to 202.xxx.xxx.xxx static IP with port 80.
Please help me on this.
here is the device running configuration

Windows server anywhere access not working from outside the lan
ok so heres what i have done so far i installed windows server 2012 essential on a computer followed the wizard to add a couple of users and gave them anywhere access followed the wizard and ran the anywhere access to completion setup the ports 80 and 443
on router manually to forward to my router ip 10.0.1.20
my server is still on dynamic ip
then i go to a windows 7 ultimate computer whent to the connect url downloaded the connect tool ran to completion and restarted the computer so far everything working inside my lan i can connect to the server see shared files and open the dash management
now i go outside connect to a wired or wireless network of a friend and try to connect to http://xxxxxxx.remotewebaccess.com
but am unsuccessfull then i check on my network adapter page and see that there is a new adapter that is called as my remotewebaccess.com so i click on it and try to connect but still fails........
please help what am i doing wrong?
i checked everywhere and cant find a solution.
Thank youIt is probably better to assign a static IP to your server, but OTH it may not change. But you really hate to go off on vacation and have the ip change and everything break.
Now you said you forwarded ports 80 and 443 to your router, I bet you meant your server?
Do www.whatismyip.com and from outside ping xxxx.remotewebaccess.com and make sure they are true same ip
From a PC or the server on your network go to grc.com and do shields up and make sure it reports 80 and 443 as open
