Finding Processes Owned by Role

Hi,
I have a workflow process that is owned by a role (set up using wf_engine.SetItemOwner). I have a user who is assigned the role in question. However, it is not possible for the user to retrieve the process using the Find Processes screen because they are only able to retrieve that processes for which they are the owner.
Surely the user should be able to retrieve the processes that are owned by a role to which he/she is assigned???
Thanks,
Gavin

Gavin,
Yeah, currently the find processes screen will display only those processes owned by the user or any processes which do not have any ownership specified.

  • "find" process User =nobody [?], using up to 90% of CPU = G5Quad [??? !]

This one is for the PPC G5 Quad pros:
Had been working for hours on my Mac Pro (different machine, I know) with my networked G5 Quad supposedly idling in the background.
The only open applications on the G5 Quad are Adobe Photoshop CS4 and Adobe Bridge CS4, the main reason for my keeping the G5 at this point, because of vital plug-ins that are not Intel-compatible and are absolutely irreplaceable and mandatory.  (I do have Ps CS5 and CS6 on the Mac Pro.  Both aforementioned applications had no open documents.  I have not actually used then in about six weeks, so the chance of Bridge building or rebuilding caches id very low.
Alerted by a sudden, very substantial increase of fan and liquid pump activity in my essentially idle G5 Quad, I switched the shared monitors inputs to it and was not surprised by the temperatures, almost all showing no more than 49ºC/121º.
Launched the Activity Monitor, which was showing a Process named "find" owned by a User named "nobody" using up to 90º% of the CPU column.
Terminated said process, only to see it become active again a short time (few minutes) later.
While typing this post, with interruptions, (20 minutes or so) the "nobody" user disappeared, as did the "find" process. some 15 minutes later, the fan and pump activity ended, returning to the G5's normal vigorous hum.
It has been running normally for about 30 minutes now, with very quiet sound levels.
Obviously, I'm mystified because all of this is above my pay grade.
I have a bunch of questions:
1.— Why on Earth is/was there a user named "nobody" working my machine so hard?  What  or who can it be?
2.— What is a "find" process, especially on a supposedly idle machine?
2.— Any chance my computer has been hacked and overtaken by a "third party"?
    3.— Should I be worried?   I am.
4.— What steps would you recommend I take at this point?
Thanks in advance to all.  I look forward to hearing from old Apple forum friends. 

How to find process chain using background job in sm37

Better is to select the job.
Select (Define) Step (s) or F6.
Select the line and Menu Goto>Variant.
The variant contains the name of the CHAIN and its VARIANT.
    Success
We faced an old job and via job monitoring we were informed about a cancelled job every 'interval'.
We noticed that the related chain was deleted but still the job was scheduled each interval again and was cancelled because an event was missing
We could not find the scheduled job via SM37.
Via view V_OP, view over tbtco abd tbtcp, we find the related entry.
We delete these entries via function BP_JOB_DELETE....

My wife and I each have an apple computer and an iPhone.  Setting them up with the iCloud put us on the same account.  I take a lot of photos on job sites and she takes her own photos we have to scan though each others photos to find our own.  How do I separate the accounts without one of us losing our own stuff?

Decide which device will be changing accounts.  On that device, if you have any photos in photo stream that are not in your camera roll that you want to keep on the device, save them to the camera roll by opening the photo stream album in the thumbnail view, tapping Edit, then tap all the photos you want to save, tap Share and tap Save to Camera Roll.
Once this is done, go to Settings>iCloud, scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account.  (This will only delete the account from this phone, not from iCloud.  The device(s) that will be keeping the account will not be effected by this.)  When prompted about what to do with the iCloud data, be sure to select Keep On My iDevice.  Next, set up a new iCloud account using a different Apple ID (if you don't have one, tap Get a Free Apple ID at the bottom).  Then turn iCloud data syncing back to On, and when prompted about merging with iCloud, choose Merge.  This will upload the data to the new account.
Finally, to delete any data that you don't want in each account (such as deleting your wife's data from your account, and vice versa) you will have to go to icloud.com on your computer and sign into each iCloud account separately and manually delete it.

  • How to find out in which role an authority object is included

    Hi,
I need to call web services by an external application. Therefore the authorization object S_SERVICE is needed to call services.
Now I want to add this object to a specific sap user, but how can I find out in which role this object is included? I don't want to create a new role for just only this standard SAP authority object.
    Thank you!

Now that you have required role with you .. simple assign that role to user id from transaction SU01 (Roles tabs).
Sap standard roles will already have profile in it. You might have to generate the profile. Goto transaction PFCG enter role name hit display button , goto Authorisation tab, hit Display Authorisation button and on next screen press generate button (Shift+f5).
By the way you can use SUIM to find role and profile for given authority object

  • Can't find Expense Report process in Find Process in Workflow  - Urgent

    Hi,
I have a submitted expense report. I tried to search for the Expense Report number in the Find Process window in Workflow administrator responsibility.
But it did not give me any result. When I query ap_expense_report_headers_all using below query for the same Expense Report number, i got the data.
    <strong>select * from ap_expense_report_headers_all where invoice_num = 'WEX308147'</strong>
Then i tried searching for the notifications recieved by the Approver of the Expense Report. Enter Approver Name in TO Field in Find Notifications window in Workflow Administrator resp. But no notifications are available in that approver list.
When i query in the APPS.wf_notifications table for notification from this process, i could find that the notification is in closed status.
Can some one help with the pointers, why the Expense Report is not displayed in Find Process window and Notification is not displayed in the Find Notifications window?
    Regards
    Ram

Try using the Status Monitor in the Workflow Administrator
use APEXP as the 'Type Internal Name'
change the 'Workflow Started' to 'Today'
The item Key for your workflow should be the expense report number, pick yours and drilldown in to the workflow to see where you it is waiting.

  • "Find" process is running every morning for five minutes

    Hello,
I upgraded to Leopard about a month ago. Not sure if this has been going on the entire time, but for at least the last two weeks, I have noticed that the "find" process is running pretty much every morning when I wake my MacBook Pro from sleep. This is really annoying because it runs for about five minutes as I'm trying to load up apps and get started on work. It brings things to a crawl because of all the disk activity is creates.
As I understand it, the find process should only run very briefly as part of the daily maintenance script. The amount of time it takes for this process to run (again, about 5 minutes) makes me think it's the weekly maintenance script that's running. But then why would that happen daily?
Finally, why is this happening in the morning at all? I thought these scripts were made to run themselves at 3am or something like that. I used to just run them manually from Terminal because I knew my laptop was never awake at 3am. Did the timing get changed with Leopard?
If anyone can shed some light on this, I'd be grateful. It'd be nice to just be running the scripts manually again.

I'm going to guess that the find is simply part of locate's periodic update process - it takes an inventory of files on the disk so that you can find them easily using the locate command.
It might not be, though - there are many other reasons why find may be running.
The trick is to use ps in the terminal along with a couple of switches to reveal the true cause.
In this case ps -axjw is probably what you're looking for. The -j switch tells it to print the processes' PID information, including its parent. You should see something like:
    # ps -axjw | grep find
    user 22423 22420 22420 44c4618 1 R s003 0:07.27 find -s /
In this case you can see one find process running, PID 22423, launched by user user. In addition, it's parent process is 22420 (the third column), so now you re-run ps asking for that PID via the -p switch:
    ps -jwp 22458
USER PID PPID PGID SESS JOBC STAT TT TIME COMMAND
    user 22420 21324 21324 44c4618 1 S s003 0:00.03 /bin/sh /usr/libexec/locate.updatedb
So putting this together, the first ps finds the PID and the Parent PID of the find command. The second command finds out what that parent command is. You can repeat the second command to work all the way back up the process tree if you like.

  • How to find our own postings

    Hi
Can any one let me know how to find your own postings in this forum, before the updates on this forum
it was esy by giving our handle name in search options we can find it, but now am facing problems to find it.
can anyone let me know about it.
    thanks in advance. :-)

There may be (and hopefully is) an easier way, but this seems to work:
    1. In the URL of the page that's returned by clicking <b>Search for all user messages</b>, find your user ID. The URL should look something like this:
    http://forums.oracle.com/forums/search.jspa?userID=<your user ID>
    2. Add the "userID=<your user ID>" as a parameter in the URL of any search results page to filter the results for your own postings only. For example, to see all your postings, the following URL seems to work:
    http://forums.oracle.com/forums/search.jspa?userID=<your user ID>&dateRange=all
    Hope this helps.

  • "find" process"

What does the "find" process do? Spotlight isn't indexing nor are time machine or idisk doing anything at the time, but "find" is using 75% of CPU.
I had opened up Activity Monitor to look at something else and found the find process using up 75% of the process, then makwhatis came on and "find" settled down.

Just to add a bit, you happened to look at Activity Monitor when the weekly maintenance script was running. That one updates the locate database (which runs find to create the database), and then moves on to rebuild the "whatis" database. Depending on much stuff you have it may take awhile to run.
