Finding Ringtone songs on iTunes

I would like to purchase some songs to use as a ringtone. The help page says to look for the "bell" next to the song. I have just hunted through at least 50 albums and have yet found a bell next to any song. Help also says to go to "view options" to see if the song can become a ringtone. The "view options" bar is not highlighted so you can't use this option. HELP...
I've already purchased 2 songs through my iphone only to find out they have to be purchases online to use as a ringtone.

You can create ringtone out of just about any song/sound file.
There are many free ways to do this.
Google will find them.

  • Finding a song on iTunes Music Store

Hi, I want to find a song on iTunes Music Library, but I can't seem to find it. I looked up every album by this artist and it doesn't seem to be there. Do you have any suggestions? Thank you!

where else can i go to get the music i want to download?
It depends on the artist and the song. In some cases, a particular track just isn't available for download anywhere. Try the other legal download stores, or check the artist's web site (if one exists).

I think this may be a clue to the problem. When you purchased the MBA did you restore any of your personal data from a prior backup? In particular, did you restore any prior data in the Music folder?
Or, did you simply launch iTunes and enable iTunes Match?

  • Can't find ringtones in the itunes store

    Hi,
I have not purchased ringtones in a while and I can't seem to find them anywhere in the iTunes store. I have tried searching for "Tones and/ or Ringtones," and I get music, books, etc... but no ringtones. What am I doing wrong?

The ONLY place to buy pre made ringtones is from your iphone.  Itunes>More>Tones
You can create a ringtone from most any sound file.  Google will find several free ways to do this.

  • Can't find ringtone option on iTunes PC, but can on iTunes for iPhone?

I can't find the option to search ringtones on iTunes on my PC, even when I search by an artist. However, when I search the artist on iTunes on my iPhone, the ringtones come up. What am I doing wrong? I'd much rather use iTunes on my PC to purchase music/ringtones. Thanks.

I am having a similar issue. Trying to figure which of my already purchased tunes are available as ringtones and can't do that either. if you get this figured out will you post the results? Thanks! M

  • Going nuts....trying to find a song on itunes

I dont know how often anyone has run into this but for me its a first.
I am trying to find the 2004 self titled Probot album with the hidden track called "I am the warlock".
Its a side project (even tried searching the "side projects" section) band of Dave Grohl and it had some of the biggest names in metal all together. So its not like its some obscure metal band from norway.
If anyone can point me in the right direction to locate this, it would be greatly appreciated.

Didnt mean to cause any confusion with the "norway" referense. I was kind of being sarchastic with the "norway" thing. The band was put together by Dave Grohl(sp) who was the drummer for Nirvana and had Lemmy from Motorhead and people from Corrosion of conformity, DRI, King Diamond etc. VERY big names in the metal industry. Supprising that I cant find it on iTunes. Maybe since there were so many people involved there could be an agreement on letting a license out or something. Who knows. Depressing though, its a good album for metal heads.
    Thanks for your efforts.

  • HT5654 Can't find ringtones on my iTunes

I can't find my ringtones on I tunes, there is no ringtones for me to select  ? On the drop down menu all I have is music tv programmes x

Top right hand corner. Should be a button that says "Blarebees's iPhone" or whatever your phone is called.
Click that button. Then you can browse your phone an sync all your stuff.
If it doesn't show anything about an iPhone, then thats a bit weird. Phone a friend.

  • How to find unauthorized songs in iTunes??

I synced my iPod today and was surprised to see that upon sync completition, a window popped up telling me there were 100 songs that were not transferred to my iPod because they were not authorized on my computer.
I selected one song and found that I did in fact have to manually authorize it. Unfortunately, in doing os, I closed the window that told me the other 99 songs that had issues.
I re-synced my iPod in hopes it would come back, but it did not.
Is there any way to have itunes tell you about unauthorized songs in your library? iTunes version 7.5.0.20.

Click here and follow the instructions.

  • No technical issue - Couldn't find current song in iTunes

    Hi community,
sorry for breaking in your very technical discussions. But does anybody know, what happens to Elvis and Lisa Presleys Duet in iTunes? Latest infos on web regards to its availablity in iTunes.........maybe its only available with certain configurations (iTunes plus)?
    regards
    Stevyxx

This topic has been discussed in some depth on the forum. First, quit iTunes the relaunch it. If that doesn't solve the problem then disable iTM, wait a couple of minutes, and reenable it. Either of these steps will generally clear up this issue.

  • I can't find ANY rigntone eligable songs on iTunes

    Hi,
I have a Australian iTunes account and I'm on a big ssearch for finding any song on iTunes that is eligable for ringtone (i.e. has a bell icon).
I have searched for songs I want to use and I have also tried searching the recently popular songs hoping I can come across just one!
Are the ringtone songs rare and hard to come by, or is there hope? If so, can someone please help me!!! I'm bored with the factory ringtones!!!
    Thanks for your help!

Ringtones via iTunes is only available in the US at this time.
You can google "ehow iPhone ringtones" to learn how to make your own ringtones.

  • How do I find duplicate songs which the latest itunes libary update does not show?

How do you find duplicate songs in itunes which the latest updated version of itunes does not show, where the older version did?

    =Downgrading from iTunes 11 to iTunes 10.7=
Try activating the sidebar, menu bar, and status bar and see if this is close enough to the previous version to make you content.  It is easier than downgrading and eventually you will be forced to run a newer iTunes unless you have an endless supply of the model computer you currently own.
You may be able to go back with Time Machine but this may involve restoring other items too (https://discussions.apple.com/message/20441404).  Alternatively:
Back up your computer first, in case the unexpected happens.
    Quit iTunes.
Get iTunes 10.7 from http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1576 or the direct download link at:  http://appldnld.apple.com/iTunes10/041-7195.20120912.d3uzQ/iTunes10.7.dmg
Do a few preparatory steps by making sure all iTunes components are not running and cleaning old files.   See https://discussions.apple.com/message/20475394.  Do steps 3 and 4.  Steps 6-8 may be also useful but I don't know if they are essential.  Some of the other steps are not necessary, duplicate steps listed later in my post or are perhaps even unhelpful in the process.
Replace the iTunes 11 application with iTunes 10.7.  Simply dragging the application to the trash may not work. Lion (OSX 10.7) and newer systems have iTunes integrated into the operating system and deleting is a bit more involved.  Two ways to do this are:
    1.  (Easier) Use the shareware Pacifist utility (http://www.charlessoft.com/) to install iTunes 10.7 including all associated system files. Details at http://forums.macrumors.com/showpost.php?p=16400819&postcount=6
    2. (More work) Check this reference on how to delete the iTunes application itself:
Delete iTunes in Mac OS X 10.7 Lion - http://osxdaily.com/2011/09/13/delete-itunes-in-mac-os-x-10-7-lion/
After deleting the application there may be other files that need downgrading too. See the note about error -42408 at the end of this post. You may want to tuck these away somewhere safe until you have completed the installation of iTunes 10.7.  I have not tested this but ideally if newer versions are not found then the installer will put in the old versions. This may include these files in /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/ which apparently get updated by iTunes 11:
    AirTrafficHost.framework
    CoreFP.framework
    DeviceLink.framework
    iTunesAccess.framework
    MobileDevice.framework
After doing one of the two procedures above you will have to rescue the most recent old iTunes library from your iTunes > Previous Libraries folder. Rename it "iTunes Library.itl"  and replace the existing one in the iTunes folder. A newer version of iTunes irreversibly updates your library file so you have to replace it with the old one or you will get an error message. Note, this will revert your library to the version at the time of the upgrade and you will have to update any changes made since.  See:

Alternatively, check https://discussions.apple.com/message/20441424 which requires you have a Time Machine backup (though possibly if you remove the newer version of these files old ones may be installed with the iTunes 10.7 installer - untested).  A  variant of this is at: https://discussions.apple.com/message/20448184
