Finding serial number and stolen

My IPAD was stolen, when i try to the register my IPAD serial numebr on apple site, i see this message:"" According to our records, this serial number is registered to another Apple ID""!!!
Could you help me how do i know who has register the serial number?
How can i know, this serial has been registered with any Apple ID?

There is no way to look this information up yourself. You can try calling Apple Support, but they may well refuse for privacy reasons to give you such information unless the other Apple ID is also yours. Registering the serial number after your iPad has been stolen is rather useless, though. It's the police to whom you need to give the information; Apple does not track stolen property.

The hot key combination you can use at the desktop screen is "FN + ESC". That should bring a system information window on the screen with the computer information including the serial number.

Open iphone 3gs and find serial number and dry out

I briefly dunked my Iphone GS3 Iphone into the dog dish of water. it doesn't boot now. Had no service message . No initials like recognizing my phone. i had it in dried rice for two days when it finally booted up this far. Do you think there is any hope to keep drying it out. It was only in water a second and i dried to outside off. I had just done cpr on my elderly mother and was nervous when i dunked it in the dog dish.
I am trying to open up the phone to see the sim card and take it out and the battery to help it dry out. And to talk to Apple Care. They will send me a new phone but haven't told me the cost. i want a newer IPHONE and have to wait till May 2012 to upgrade per ATT. My mom has a no contract phone. I am her Power of attorney. i could buy her a phone with her money. Does anyone know if i can put the phone in my name as i am only one who uses a cell phone. I am the caretaker . If i do it this way I would be paying for an att phone that doesn't work. Am so confused. Don't know how to find serial number. i called apple they set up a call. i gave them the phone number on chat but on the online call back one is requried to insert the serial number of the phone . i can't open it up. is there a video showing how to open the phone. Wow, I'm very sorry to hear that you faced this traumatic experience. Unfortunately the Find My iPhone app has to be turned on and activated before the device is stolen.
You should change any and all passwords that you use on your iPhone immediately.
Did you have a passcode lock on your iPhone that required a 4 digit number before the phone could be unlocked? That might prevent some of your data from being stolen or used.
I presume that you contacted the police.

there is nospecial way to locate your iPod, Apple will not help. Your SN is only good for identifying the iPod as yours if it is found.
Change the passwoard for all accounts used onthe iPod and report it to the police. Also see:

Well, if you had a .Mac account and enabled the "Find my iPhone" functions before it was stolen, maybe you could (I'm not sure how that all worked).
With a serial number and reciept, you can't track it.

If you set up the Find My iPod service prior to the iPod going missing, then there is a chance that can be tracked, though it depends on a number of factors (the iPod is turned on, connected to a WiFi network, and has not had the Find My iPod service disabled). Was it ever backed up to your computer's iTunes ? If it was then if you go into Edit > Preferences in iTunes and select the Devices tab, then if you hover the mouse pointer over the iPad's backup then the serial number should show : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4061
Or if it was registered to your account then you might be able to find it from your support profile : https://supportprofile.apple.com/

And I did reported the missing ipod to my school. What else can I do? I can report it to the police. But how do I do that? And its rather late so I don't know if anyone will listen now. i was given a macbook 5.1 by my mom, being nice, she erased everything on it, but then could not find the original start up disc. i called apple and had the serial number and said that leopard 10.5 was the operating system that orginally came with it, so i bought it. when i got it,i turned on computer, put in dvd, and immediately shut it off, then turned it back on while pressing letter c. (they told me to do this) i can hear the disc turning but alls i get is blank screen then it shuts down, and restarts. nothing ever shows up on the screen. did i get a wrong disc? should there be something different than just the mac os x leopard 10.5 to get this computer to work again?? thanks for your help!

It means what it says. The "computer person" formatted it wrongly/ unsuitably. it needs to be formatted again.
