Finding shortcut after reinstalling Elements 6

For some reason my Elements 6 program quit working. The error message said I had to contact techinical werivce or reinstall. Since it is no longer being supported I tried to reinstall.
When I did reinstall I did not get the logo as a shortcut on my desk top but rather a "window". When I tried to open it said it could not find the program.
It appears to have lost its short cut to be opened. The same "window" appears in the list of programs on my comperter in the "start" menue.
Help!!!

I did not understand it either after I wrote it .... so lets try again.
Here is where I am now and how I got here.
I tried to open Elements 6. I got this error message. "Licensing subsystem
has failed catastrophically. You must reinstall or call support".
I called support but they do not support Elements 6 any longer and pointed
me to this forum.
I tried to reinstall but it did not do any good.
I then did a "system restore" back to a couple of days ago when things were
OK and got the same message when I tried to open Elements after the "system
restore".
I am not sure what to do next. Any advice?

After reinstalling Elements 8 how to recover tags and catalogues?

Had to reinstal
Elements 8 and resynched names in Albums but it did not restore any of the many tags that I had. Of course none of the picture thumbnails were restored but I do have a set of disks from a Catalogue save from last year. What sequence should I use to attempt to have Elements 8 recognize my images, which, fortunately, were on an external hard drive and are intact?

Yes, I had to reformat the hard drive. I had backed up my catalog about a
year ago and decided to restore it. The restoration went OK although it
was not currant for the last year but at least I salvaged a lot.
During the restoration, I was required to make a choice as to restore to
the original location or to a new one. I chose the latter not knowing if it
meant overwriting the original image files themselves. Do you know what
the consequences would have been had I chosen to restore to the "original"
site?

Can't find icon after installing Elements 6.

I installed Elements 6 after I replaced Hard drive, but when completed, there is no icon to access Photoshop.

You will need to install Rosetta to possibly have Photoshop Elements function. Please see If you need to install Rosetta - http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=Mac/10.6/en/27987.html for details on installing Rosetta.

Can't find DWCC after reinstall

Dreamweaver CC has never opened on this computer running Mac OS 10.9 after various attempted fixes it tries to open — showing for about 15 seconds in Activity Monitor — but ultimately crashes.
I was hoping the most recent update would fix that, it didn't…
So I tried uninstalling DWCC and reinstalling it. Apparently it went through the install process twice with the usual thermometer progressing through 100% but DWCC doesn't appear anywhere in Application folder nor can be located with Spotlight.
DW CS6 runs fine and I've been using that all along, but I've been paying for CC and it would be nice to use DWCC for once
Other CC apps seem to be working fine

Finally, got DWCC to start. First time I've seen the splash screen. Wonder why the app disappeared after install.

In Firefox 4 you no longer have the Status bar that showed the padlock in previous Firefox versions.<br />
The padlock only shows that there is a secure connection and doesn't guarantee that you are connected to the right server.<br />

Cannot find photos after reinstalling chip

My daughter had icloud activated on her phone and had it set to back up contacts, apps, and photo stream. Recently her phone was replaced and when we reinserted the SIM card, the photos weren't there even after logging back into her applie id. Any suggestions??? She's extremely disappointed as she had over 700 photos.

You use photo stream to sync photos to another device, especially a computer where photos should be saved to. Never use photo stream as a storage service, it's for syncing. Does she by any chance have the copies of the photos on her computer?

After reinstalling Elements 9 on same computer I am unable to get uodates.

Did you make the backup of downloaded software? Generally people tend to make backups of all software they buy digitally including a record of the necessary serial number for events like you are describing.
If you try to login to your account at Adobe then you might find a link and the serial number otherwise try thios link:

You will need serial number to activate this product otherwise it would be a complete waste of time downloading such a big file again.

Clicking "open with Auto play" gives me irrelevant options, view photos, share, etc. I'm running Windows 8. This program has worked, although buggy, for the past year.

Borders presets not installed after reinstalling Photoshop Elements 9

I recently upgraded my computer and after reinstalling Photoshop Elements 9 I noticed that the introduction screen was dated. While this was ok to live with I now have noticed that the 'borders' preset in effects and contents has not been installed - this is a nuisance. I have downloaded the 9.0.3 update but still do not have the borders presets.
Suggestions for how to download these presets would be most appreciated.

Try resetting the pse 2 preferences and see if that clears things up.

Press and hold down the Shift+Ctrl+Alt keys just after starting the launch of pse 2
Keep holding the keys down until you get a dialog asking if you want to Delete the Adobe Photoshop Elements Settings File
Press Yes

What computer operating system is involved? What is this "Elements 12"? Photoshop Elements 12 or Premiere Elements 12/12.1?
What is the problem - lost installation files or installation disc or lost serial number or both?
Or, do you just want details for uninstalling the program?

Help please! I have been using Mountain Lion for a few weeks but Finder, System Prefferences and the App Store won't load and/or keep crashing even after reinstalling the OS. How do to fix it?

You need to check to make sure you are actually connected to the network. Tap Settings > WiFi >and then tap the blue ">" next to the network name with checkmark. You should see a complete set of IP address but if the router didn't issue you an IP address properly, you will see your touch IP address start with 169.x. If this is the case, you are connected to the internal network but not to the web.
First thing to do (while you are on that screen) is tap "Forget Network". Then turn WiFi off. Turn it back on and, if needed, tap Other and re-enter your network information. If you continue to have problems, check with your IT department on Monday.
In the meantime, your laptop and iTunes can be used to purchase apps and music. Syncing them with your touch is a great way to get them installed while you are waiting for the answer on your WiFi problem.
