Finding stolen iPhone

Hello.
Yesterday Someone stoled my iPhone 4 from my car, I didnt rememebr about "find my iPhone" and i restore all data to my old iPhone 3!
Now I found out about "find my iPhone" but iCloud locat the iPhone 3 that with me ,not the iPhone4 that was stolen!
there is any way iCloud could locate the iPhone 4 that was stolen even i restore all to iPhone 3?
please will be very kind to get help

In order to use the iCloud location feature, you need to enable the find my iPhone setting in your iCloud account settings on the device before it is lost. If it was enabled on the iPhone 4, then you may be able to track it.
However, for it to show up at all on the iCloud location web page, the iPhone 4 will need to be powered on and will need an active data connection (wifi or 3g, but it must have someway for the server to communicate with it). If the phone did not have a passcode lock, the thief could just disable the setting under your iCloud account on the phone. A thief could also just turn the phone off. Either way, it would make it unfindable. A thief can also plug it into any computer with iTunes, restore as a new device, re-activate it and use it - that process will wipe all your information off the phone, but thus also makes it unfindable.

The only way to locate any lost/stolen iPhone is through Find My Phone. However, this requires that Find My Phone be setup/activated, on your phone, before it was lost/stolen. You would then login at iCloud.com & try to locate it. This requires the phone be turned on & have an Internet connection. There is no other way to locate a lost/stolen iPhone. Apple can't/won't help you, nor will your carrier. Report the loss to the Police, your carrier & Insurance company. Change all of your passwords.

ive got the original buying license with my name on it, ive got the original box with the IMEI number and the serial number on it..
the police couldnt do anything cause 650€ is not enough money to search out of germany for it..

First alert the police.
Then you should contact your carrier and have your plan canceled or forzen, see what they can do.
If you installed Find My iPhone on your phone, log into it on a computer or compatable device. (Computer link- www.icloud.com)
Then put the iPhone in lost most and play the sound. To protect your personal information erase the device as well.
If the theift has restored your phone you may not be able to track it.
Contact Apple as well, as they may be able to do something if you can provide the serial number.

Hello people. I have (had) an iPad 1 (wifi only) - which was stolen two days ago. It's locked with a passcode but I am worried that someone will be able to get into it. I've got the Find app installed on my iPhone 4S and it shows that both my iPad and stolen iPod are offline.
Q - if either the iPad or the iPod goes into an unlocked wifi area, will I be notified on my phone?
Q - can anyone actually break into my iPad as it is locked?
Q - how does iCloud work in terms of the info that's on my iPad - photos etc that I don't want to lose?
Q - I've reported this to the police - does Apple need to know?

Find My iPhone is good for misplaced iPhone but not good for thief and it was never meant to be.
You chance of getting it back is very small.
There are a few things you can try.
Try remote lock/wipe your iPhone through Find My iPhone.

Iphone stolen - Find my iphone application does not find my phone

Dear all,
yesterday evening my iphone 5 was probably stolen.
After I discovered that (approx. 30 to 50 min. after it was stolen), I tried to call my phone, but the phone was already turned off. I went home immediatly, logged-in into icloud and started "find my iphone app" and requested "erase" as soon as the phone goes online somewhere.
The problem I have now, is that several times I logged into that "find my iphone app" in iCloud in my brower, sometimes I received the message that "find my iphone app" cannot start. I did send report to Apple already.
I do have an old iphone 4 as well, which is also connected to my cloud. That phone is online and right in front of me.
When I start "find my iphone app" the phone cannot be found… it says the device is "offline". But it's not.
So I'm afraid now that the "erase" request for my iPhone 5 is useless and does not work.
On that phone is really sensitive data from work, so it must be erased.
Anyone knows what I can do now?

It sounds like you are doing everything you can given the circumstances. Heres a link that may help. I don't think it has any new information but to make sure you report it to your local law enforcement.

If your phone was stolen an didn't have Find My iPhone turned on the first thing I would do is change your Apple ID password. Immediately after that I would change the password for every app and web account that resides on the iPhone.
When you get your new replacement iPhone make sure that Find My iPhone is turned on and you have a good passcode set up to prevent unauthorized folks from gaining access to your device.

I would report this to the police and they will help you track down your MacBook Pro and catch the theft.
They will know what to do.
I would go to http://icloud.com to view the location of your laptop.

I had my iPhone 5c stolen this Tuesday afternoon while I was at the beach. Immediately after I noticed it missing I called the phone and it was off. I called the phone continuously later that night but it remained off. I did not use the Find my iPhone app until the following morning, however.
The phone has said offline for 2 days now. I'm wondering...is it reasonable to assume that eventually the phone will get turned back on and I will get a location? Or do thieves have ways around this? I filed a police report but the police seem to be pretty disinterested in helping me recover my phone. I literally got this thing on Monday and had it stolen Tuesday the next day. I was so excited about my new phone so I realize now I was texting like a little girl out there and probably was an easy target. Never bringing anything of value to the beach again, thats for sure.

The phone will automatically re-appear when it connects to the Internet. However, don't get your hopes up, as thieves know this & will make sure your phone never re-connects so you can locate it.

Once again, the Find My iPhone app has no effect on this.
Find My iPhone must be enabled with your iCloud account settings on the iPhone.
Location Services must be enabled.
The iPhone must be connected to the internet via an available wi-fi network or via the carrier's cellular network.
If the iPhone is powered off, none of the Find My iPhone features can work, and the same if the thief or whoever has access to the iPhone has restored the iPhone with iTunes as a new iPhone on another computer.
