  • When searching for an image in Finder on iMac, I found hundreds of images of printers !! All sorts of printer images which I certainly haven't loaded on.I went to Finder, File, Find and Image and there they are, hundreds,if not low thousands of them.

I was searching for an image on my Imac and when I went to Finder,File,Find and then Image, I found hundreds if not early thousand images of printers ! Amazing in one way but I didn't put them on my machine and don't really want them there.Did they come pre-loaded? Can I delete them safely? Thanks

Almost certainly, no absolutely not once you start deleting stuff like this that you think is not needed, eventually you'll trash something essential and cause yourself a lot of heartache.
There are numerous files classed as images, some will be temporary files in browser caches, others system files, others your "real" images, others files which are not really images but appear to be.
The amount of space of what I presume are essentially icons of printers will will be minimal, lets say these images are  5k in size (I guess they are much smaller?) and there are 1,000 of them, thats only 5Mb. No doubt your disk has multiple gigabytes free, eg thousands of times as much free as you'd save by deleting all of them. So you might gain back an extra 0.0001% disk space*. NOt worth the time, let alone the risk, plus then you'll get into a mindset "hmm, I dont think I can possibly need this 23byte file either I'll delete that as well etc, and then "problem......".
Where are the images stored? It may be that at some time you were searching for a new printer and these images are from that exercise (though I doubt you looked at thousands?) in which case they are in your browser cache and you can always delete that through the browser, but that space will be overwritten by other images anyway.
"If it ain't broke, don't fix it" is a motto to work by with computers.
*( or, if you really do need the (say) 5MB of disk space back because you are running out, this would only be a very temporary solution and that wont have done you any good)

  • Find out from which table a ES gets his data

    Hello,
I'm now asking myself (for a couple of hours) how I can find out from which table(s) a Enterprise Service gets his data. I don't find any hint about this on ES Workplace, sproxy or soamanager. Has anyone a usefull hint for me?

    Hi Marco,
This actually is an excellent question, as it allows to clearly realize, that ES Repository is only a modeling device and it does not contain any implementation details.
If you are interested in implementation details, then Services Registry and the respective backend system are your friends, as Enterprise Services are implemented in these backend systems and then published in the central phone book - the Services Registry.
If you haven't applied yet for the free access to the ES Workplace systems, do so as this will give you access to the SAP ERP discovery system that implements all the ECC related Enterprise Services.
Now, if you want to see the implementation details for a given service - start from the ES Workplace. Go to the Services Registry and find an ECC service of interest. Then, on the General tab of the service you will find the Namespace and Internal Name. Having these two values, log on to the ES Workplace ECC system, start transaction SE80 and select Enterprise Services Browser. If this option is not available, go to Menu -> Utilities -> Settings and select Enterprise Service Browser. Find the namespace and the service (by its internal name) then navigate to the implementing code - which typically is an ABAP Object interface and an implementing class.
The only reason I am referring to the ES Workplace Service Registry and its discovery system is, because it is a platform we all have access to. Each client builds their own SOA landscape, where only certain Enterprise Services are published in the Services Registry. And, of course, the system landscape can be more complex - containing not only ECC but other SAP Business Suite products.
I hope this helps a bit.

  • What are the settings in mail to see photos that were sent- then email recepient replies back w/ comments but there are no photos to know which one they are commenting about.  how do i see what was sent when they reply?   thanks for your help

anyone know how to get mail to show the photos back to you?
ex:  send pictures to friends, they reply w/ comments, but have no idea which pictures they are commenting on because they do not sho up in a reply.
    thanks for your help

Did you ever get a reply to this.  I have the same problem.  I have the same problem when even when I reply to an email... no photo shows up in my new reply message.  The only way I have figured out is to use the "forward" option.
But this still does not solve the problem when people email me back... I have no idea what photo they are speaking of.  Instead of a photo... there is a <photo name of some sort>.
Let me know if you ever hear on this one.
    Many thanks.

In Which Table Users are assigned to UGR? quick answers are appreciated.
We have a scenario where we have to compare User Id's with UGR to customise authorisations in TEM.

There's no list available from your end. If you're out of authorizations, use the Deauthorize All function.

  • Has anyone else had Itunes bill your bank account for $99.99 for an app/gam that (a) you didn't authorize and (b)it states "FREE" when you finally find this app? Now they are bs'ing around and will not give me my money/I want to speak w/management!!!

ITUNES HAS CHARGED MY DEBIT CARD $99.99 FOR GLOBAL WAR RIOT-SOME GAME I DID NOT KNOW WAS LOADED ON MY OTHER PHONE; HOWEVER, WHEN I PULLED UP THIS APP TO SEE EXACTLY WHAT IT WAS WAS I SURPRISED TO SEE I COULD DOWNLOAD IT FOR 'FREE'. I HAVE CONTACTED ITUNES THROUGH THIS REDICULOUSLY CHICKEN SH_T SYSTEM THEY USE SO THEY DO NOT ACTUALLY HAVE TO HEAR HOW UPSET A PERSON IS NOW THAT THEY CANNOT BUY FOOD FOR THEIR CHILDREN BECAUSE OF A MISTAKE MADE ON ITUNES PART.  I DID RECEIVE AN EMAILED RESPONSE FROM STEPHANIE WHO ADVISED THIS WAS PUCHARED ON A PHONE THAT HAS PURCHASED DOWNLOADS IN THE PAST. I WONDER IF SHE THOUGHT TO LOOK AT MY ENTIRE DOWNLOAD HISTORY AND DISCOVER THAT NOTHING HAS EVER BEEN PURCHASED ON MY ITUNE ACCOUNT IN THE AMOUNT REMOTELY CLOSE TO WHAT THEY ARE CHARGING ME NOW.  THAT IS BECAUSE I DO TRY TO MONITOR THIS ACCOUNT AND OBVIOUSLY THIS LAST PURCHASE WAS DONE WITHOUT MY KNOWLEDGE UNTIL I CHECKED MY ONLINE BANKING ACCOUNT, WHICH I DO EVERY DAY.  TO MAKE MATTERS WORSE THE APP STATES IT IS FREE TO INSTALL WHEN YOU PULL IT UP SO NO ONE HAS CLARIFIED TO MY WHERE THE $99.99 COMES INTO PLAY.  I WILL NOT DROP THIS UNTIL MY BACK ACCOUNT HAS BEEN PROPERERLY CREDITED IN THE SAME TIME FRAME IT TOOK YOU TO TAKE MY MONEY. I WILL LAUNCH A COMPLAINT WITH EVERY POSSIBLE ENTITY IN THE ITUNES COMPANY AND BUSINESSES OUTSIDE THAT REGULATE THEIR BUSINESS UNTIL THIS HAS RESOLVED IN MY FAVOR AS I AM THE ONE WHO HAS BEEN VICTIMIZED BY A COMPANY I INVITED INTO MY TELEPHONE NETWORK IN GOOD FAITH!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Why can´t find my pages. on .mac they are on the web?

    Hi all
I have created a a site with the help of Iweb.
    http://web.mac.com/banjoatte/iWeb/My%20jazz%20banjo%20mirrorsite%20II/Welcome.ht ml
But when I open my homepage on .mac I only see another page i did http://homepage.mac.com/banjoatte/PhotoAlbum1.html called spring album
So I can´t edit or add to the first pages mentioned.
    What´s wrong
    anders in sweden
Imac and powerbook g4 Mac OS X (10.3.9)

So I can´t edit or add to the first pages mentioned.
Normally you edit pages made with iWeb from inside the iWeb app. If they are no longer there, in the site organizer at the left, then you are out of luck and you have to recreate them.
Your homepage on .mac is pretty useless accessing iWeb pages and has no ability to edit them at all. For access, use the url directly

  • My older iPod Touch has music from another Apple ID, but I have had multiple other Apple IDs and I can't find out which ones they are from.  I would also like to know how I can copy the music and have it saved to my computer as an audio file.

So I have an iPod Touch, 2nd or 3rd gen., and it has music synced from multiple Apple IDs. I need to know how to copy that music as an audio file to save on my computer.

You can copy iTunes purchased from a device to your computer's iTunes library via File > Devices > Transfer Purchases - if the account is authorised on your computer's iTunes then you should be prompted to authorise it when trying to copy them.
Or there are programs listed half-way down this page which can copy them back : Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device
You can then add them to your iTunes library via File > Add To Library, again you should be prompted to authorise the account if it's not already authorised.
You can also find the account that a track is tied to be selecting/highlighting it in the My Music part of your library, or the Music section of 'OnMy Device' when you select the device, and doing 'get-info' (command-i) - it will show on one of the tabs on the popup

  • How to filter / find referenced photos by where they are located

Ok guys, I have been going round the bend with this one.... I've been through all of the Filter options in Aperture 3.4.3 several times over the last week trying to find for some way to get Aperture to only show referenced photos that are located on a particular external hard drive (EXT1) / within a particular sub-folder.
In addition to some Originals/Masters being located on EXT1 I also have some referenced photos located on my start-up volume (OSX).
The desired function: I would like to move all of the photos (and video files) that Aperture is referencing (along with the existing folder structure) from within /EXT1/Photos/ to another folder (either also on EXT1 or maybe on to another drive (EXT2), it doesn't really matter where).
Why do I want to do this? I want to check whether there are any 'lost' files that shouldn't be inside /EXT1/Photos/ that Aperture is for some reason not referencing. If I move the files that Aperture is referecing away from their current location then the things that are left over would either need importing into Aperture, or moved eslewhere, or maybe even deleted. Some such files might have been put there by other applications, or by me accidentally, or more likely that Versions of them have been deleted from the Aperture library but the Orignals/Masters were not moved to the system Trash...
I've gone through 5 pages of google results, trying all of the keywords that I think might be relevant, searched many posts in macrumours forums as well as here, but I can't find an answer to what I thought would have been a simple question.
Under File > Locate Referenced Files Aperture can tell me which files are located on each Volume, but from here there is nothing that can be done with the results :-( being able to search my Volume and file path would be very useful to me.
If I've missed something obvious then sorry, but I've gone cross eyed with lack of sleep tonight I thought I'd throw the question out there in case someone knows whether this is type or search criteria is not possible, or if I'm just missing something obvious!
    Thanks in advance,
    Adam

My next question, which I can post a new topic for if it's suggested, is "can you safely delete the RAW file in a previously imported RAW + JPEG pair?". I did some research into this a few weeks ago but didn't uncover a proper way of doing this, but someone suggested that you can simply just set the JPEG to be the Original/Master within Aperture and then delete the RAW file within Finder.
That is a cumbersome workaround. I cannot really recommend it - I tried it myself. Aperture will complain over and over again about the missing RAW files and even repairing the library will ot fix it. The safer way to remove the raw files from the pair would be to export the jpegs as master and to reimport them, then to delete the older imported versions after lifting and stamping any edits you may have done already.
Aperture's built-in feature to keep only raw for selected images is to allow to import only the jpegs first, browse the images, and than add the raw later for the images that you want to have at a better resolution.
    From the Aperture Manual:
If you import only the JPEG files and then later decide you want to download the RAW files as well, you can have Aperture identify and import the RAW files that match the JPEG files in your Aperture library.
To import the RAW files that match the JPEG files in your Aperture library
Choose “Matching RAW files” from the Import pop-up menu. The Include pop-up menu appears below the Import pop-up menu.
    Do one of the following:
To import all matching RAW files regardless of rating: Choose “All matching files” from the Include pop-up menu.
To import all RAW files matching JPEG files that are unrated or better: Choose “Unrated or better” from the Include pop-up menu.
To import all RAW files that match the current rating: Choose “Current filter” from the Include pop-up menu.

  • What report will tell me which tables/fields are used in a transaction

    Hi
I'm new to SAP, but was wondering how I can navigate the data dictionary so I can get a list of all the tables, fields and field details for all fields used in the following transactions: IW29, IW39 and IW49N.
    Thanks and take care,
    Shayne

    Hi,
    Welcome to SAP!
There are two ways to find what are all the tables used in the program,
    1. Easy & Effective way is to use ST05 and do SQL Trace.
    2. Normally, when you want to see the corresponding code in the program related to database activities, then do this,
Goto SE38 --> Put the report name (say RIQMEL20) -> Press F9 --> Select data base activities (SELECT, DELETE, MODIFY, INSERT). Click Ok. This will show all the program lines.

  • Finder de-selects files when they are locked/unlocked

I have several encrypted disk images that I use to store various personal info on:  financial data, logins/passwords, health info, etc.
Whenever I update the content on any of them I make a copy of the .dmg file, then rename the copy with the date and time in the filename.  For example, if I have a test.dmg file, when I update content in it, I would make a copy and rename the copy like test_201401051459.dmg.  That way I have a series of backups of each iteration of the encrypted disk image file.  (I've had encrypted disk image files get corrupted in the past, so this is a simple way to make sure I can open at least one of the previous backup files if necessary.)  I also "lock" each dated copy of the .dmg file to prevent accidental deletion.
At the end of each month I move all of the dated backup .dmg files to an "_Old Data" folder.  In order to do that, I select all the .dmg files I want to move into the subfolder, then right-click (or ctrl-click) on them and -- continuing to hold the Ctrl key down -- I click on "Get Summary Info" to open a single "Get Info" dialog for all of the files so I can unlock them before I move them (if I don't unlock them, then Finder will make copies instead of moving them).  As soon as I de-select/uncheck the "Locked" option in the "Multiple Item Info" dialog, Finder de-selects all of the selected files in the Finder window and also narrows the column they're displayed in (I always use Column View in Finder windows).  This forces me to manually re-widen the column so I can see the entire file names, and manually re-select all of the files so I can move them into the sub-folder.
This is changed behavior from Snow Leopard (from which I upgraded to Yosemite).  In Snow Leopard, Finder left things alone.  It didn't decide all on its own that files should be de-selected and that column widths should be narrowed to what it thinks is right.  This turns a relatively simple operation into an unnecessarily-more-complex operation.  Pure PITA.
