Finding text in a PDF using preview has stopped working (correctly).
When I search for certain words in a PDF using preview, it correctly finds all the pages in the document with that word. However, it no longer highlights the word being searched for. I have looked through the various settings and cannot figure out how to turn this back on.

4Shared worked, but having to register to retrieve files from there is a nuisance.
The problem is that you use special graphic state operators inside text objects which is not allowed:

Have a look at the PDF specification ISO 32000-1:2008 (e.g. at http://www.adobe.com/content/dam/Adobe/en/devnet/acrobat/pdfs/PDF32000_2008.pdf). Table 51 shows that q, Q, and cm are special graphics state operators, and Figure 9 illustrates that these operators, therefore, are not allowed in text objects, i.e. between BT and ET.

I'm not aware of any, not to say that there aren't any issues.
it may have nothing to do with ntpd, there are a lot of things running.
ntpd just happen to make the log entry at the same time as the panic.
I would check to see if there are any updates available for you system.
if this is the first time that this has happened. it may be (pick one):
cosmic rays
sun spots
the trilateral commission
if this happens more frequently and that traces look the same, then
there may be a real problem that needs to be looked into further.

MESSAGE - itunes has stopped working correctly

Hi,
I have recently transferred to a new PC and installed itunes 10.5.
When opening itunes i receive the error message:
"itunes has stopped working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available." Needless to say no solution is received.
A suggestion in another post on this subject in the Apple Support Communities thought this was related to itunes trying to access the itunes store and failing. Following this solution (which worked for the person who had the problem with his iphone) I:
disconnected from the internet
opened itunes
syncd my ipod touch
enabled the internet
closed itunes and re-opened it.
When NOT connected to the interent all was well and I synd my ipod touch. However on re-connecting to the interent I received the same error massage. This suggests that the problem is something to do with the program trying to access the internet.
Has anyone any suggestions as to how I can solve this problem? It may not be relevant but I use AVG Internet Sucurity 2012.

My trackpad pinch and close has stopped working correctly on web pages, but ok on email?

Recently the pinch and close on my trackpad has stopped working correctly when I view websites/pages, it will enlarge only once and will not reduce at all after that. Although It works perfectly well when viewing emails. Does anyone know if this can be solved please, my laptop is still under wareenty but this feels like a software problem maybe..?

If no success, sometimes a very through cleaning of the trackpad will restore functionality.
Last, open the MBP and examine the battery to see if it has expanded. It resides under the trackpad and may be interfering with it. If that is the case, the battery should be replaced.

PDF thumbnail generation has stopped working

Hello Together,
formerly I was using Adobe Reader X at an actual Patch Level on a 64 Bit Windows 7 system. At that time PDF thumbnails were no subject for me. Now I've upgraded to Adobe Acrobat X Pro and uninstalled Adobe Reader X. Then I wanted to use the thumbnails. That was no problem as I found a link to a tool which fixed my issue: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/305220
Everything worked fine for me, until I noticed that one of my applications needed an installed Adobe Reader to work properly. So I reinstalled the Adobe Reader on my system again. This caused to stop the thumbnail generation: PDF files which existed prior to the Adobe Reader installation still have a thumbmail icon preview, but those who were generated after the installation still appear as a PDF icon.
Before installation the fix from thread 305220 my workaround was to open Acrobat X, the navigate to the open dialog, moving to the folder with the PDFs within and wait that Acrobat finished the thumbnail generation. But this workaround now is out of service, too. So my assumption is, that reinstalling Adobe Reader screwed up something in my Adobe installation which I cannot find at the moment which has nothing to do with the initial problem with displaying thumbnails.
Performing some repair installation didn't help:
   (1) repair Adobe Reader, then repair Adobe Acrobat --> no change
   (2) repair Adobe Acrobat, then repair Adobe Reader --> no change
   (3) repair Adobe Reader only --> no change
   (4) repair Adobe Acrobat only --> no change
   (1), then apply fix from thread 305220 --> no change
   (2), then apply fix from thread 305220 --> no change

Did you at least download & read the user manual?
You can always call Apple Care if you are still under warranty. Otherwise, take your iPod to an Apple Store or an AASP.

External HD has stopped working correctly on my iMac

I have 2 external HD aswell as my internal drive that have been running since I got my new iMac under a year ago, however it seems one of my external HD has stopped working so I really need help this drive has important files on I really need to access,
the drive itself lights up when connected and I can hear it trying to work and it even appears in the disk utility however after a few seconds it then disapears from the disk utility and the only wy to repeat this process is to unplug and then plug HD back in via the power cable.
it seems as though my HD is in some sort of sleep mode as the light dims when it disapears from disk utility.
Can anyone plese help?

Off hand I would say the drive may be failing. Contact the original vendor as well as the manufacturer's tech support for assistance.

Itunes has stopped working correctly

Itunes said I successfully installed it on my laptop(with vista). WHenever I try to open the program however it doesn't open and tells me that a problem caused itunes to stop working correctly(It does not give me an error number).
Is there a way to fix this? I have already scanned my computer for viruses if that helps narrow it down.

If not mentioned in the articles, make a new user account in Windows and see if iTunes opens. That will tell you if there's something funky in your main account (if the new user works), or if you have a system-wide issue.

Liquify preview has stopped working in CS

I've searched around for an answer to this, but a question for the same problem doesn't seem to have been asked anywhere that I've found, so I hope someone here might know.
I am running CS on Windows XP. I previously used the Liquify filter on a large picture with no problems. Now I want to do a new one, but the preview of Liquify won't work - the picture comes up, but I can't see the real-time changes. When I hit OK the changes show up on the picture, but since I couldn't see what I was doing, they're not what I want.
I have found where someone has had this problem, but it seems like they always had it and was never able to see the preview, which isn't the case here. I have tried updating my video driver, like someone advised in that case, but it did nothing. I made no changes to the computer's hardware since it last worked (May). I have also tried using a small file to see if it was the size of the file, but the preview didn't work then either.
I have an external drive where my file resides, with 74.5 GB free. 12.5 GB is free on my internal HD, which is where Photoshop is installed. 931 MB RAM. Since it worked before, I'm hoping it's something like clearing up more memory space on my HD...

Thanks! I did reset all the tools and preferences once, but not deleting the entire file.
Okay, so I tried deleting the preference file and everything was reset. I opened the image in question and went straight to Liquify. It still won't change the preview image, but if I turn off the image and look at the mesh I can see the changes to the mesh itself as I make them. So I can do a sort of work-around that way, but I wonder why the image itself still won't warp.
Out of curiosity I opened a smaller JPG instead of the multi-layer PSD file I was working on and tried to Liquify that again. The same thing there - I could reduce the opacity of the backdrop and see the warped mesh behind it, but the image itself didn't change till I hit OK.

My MacBook trackpad has stopped working correctly and now my MacBook Pro is beginning to malfunction

yesterday my MacBook trackpad stopped working, after resetting my mac it began working again but was jumpy. Now a day later when I turn my laptop on the mouse works for a short while (maybe 4 minutes) and then begins to go jumpy again and then my screen moves to the right and my programmes begin to open and close randomly based on my trackpad movements.
I Have no idea what to do! I've tried installing updates to see if it was that but except for that i'm not that used to a Mac so I don't know! Any help appreciated!

Acrobat pdf 9.0 has stopped working

I recently upgraded to CS4 and Quark 8.
Yesterday my Q8 files were happily printing out using Acrobat pdf 9 (and had resolved an irritation in 8 where no files including the character '/' would print).
Today every file I try to print gets stopped in the printer queue and can't be restarted.
I've called tech advice,been referred to article KB403918, have chucked the preferences, repaired permissions etc etc. But still no luck.
Any suggestions?

Follow Torben Directions to see if you can create a PDF, first
But you don't Just have an Acrobat Problem.
Do the following:
Go to Printer Utility and remove any and all versions of Adobe PDF, from list. Quit Printer Utility
Now open your newest version of Acrobat you have installed (all older versions will work with the newest PDF Print Driver, but not the reverse.
Now open Acrobat ang to help menu and choose Repair and Replace. when open uncheck everything except Adobe PDF.
once repaired go back to Printer Utility and verify adobe PDF has been added. Quit printer Utility
Now try creating a PDF.
As for Word if you have 2008 (don't uninstall Word2004), It has its own PDF Converter now. Go to Save As... and choose PDF from list .
BTW: Word 2008 is now up to 12.2.1 version and Word 2004 is now up to 11.5.9

The "find" feature has stopped working correctly

For the last few weeks when I use "find on this page" it doesn't work properly. Sometimes it will find the first 2 letters and then say that the word can't be found. I have even put in words that I can see on the page and it says that they don't exist. Even after it has located the first 2 letters. It seems like the problem exists usually between the second and third letter of search.
I am finding this particularly annoying as I am doing internet research and may have a gigantic document that I may only need 1 phrase from and it is making it so that I have to read the entire document. Usually very interesting but REALLY slowing me down.
Is it possible that I have accidentally changed a setting or something?

Make sure that "Match case" on the Find bar (Edit > Find or Ctrl+F) doesn't have a check-mark.

FlexFileUpload_cb has stopped working correctly...

...since we switched to ColdFusion 9. Now, it only uploads one file of a multiple file set instead of going through the entire list and uploading all the files. We finally got our servers switched over to ColdFusion 9 (yeah, I know "What took so long?). Is anyone else using this ActionScript program created by Ryan Favro for multi-file uploads? We've been using it for several years, since it was developed for Flex 2, and it was working fine, until we switched the CF side to CF9 - at least that's the only unifying thread that I can find between our two servers. The Development side is using FlashBuilder 4, and the Production side is using Flex 3. Both are using Flash Player 10, but both are now communicating with ColdFusion 9. It was working on CF8 on the Production side. We can't go back to CF8 because all of the other applications (other than the one that uses Flex need CF9). Any perspective would be appreciated.

My iPhone has stopped working correctly with Blurtooth.

I use the bluetooth to connect to my iCom which connects to my hearing aids. It worked just fine for a month. It no longer "tells" me that a message or mail has arrived. It sometimes doesn't even tell me of an incoming phone call. And now it disconnects without warning.

One thought - do not charge it and let the current charge fade out - then when you charge it back from scratch it should reboot into some working mode
Another - if you do not want to wait - bring it to a store

Creation of new JSF has stopped working correctly

Hi guys,
I'm rather new to JDeveloper, but i have successfully completed 7 or so tutorials without a problem. But recently i have found a problem which i can't seem to get rid of.
I create a new Application; lets say a WebCenter Application.
I right Click the view controller and select "New > JSF > JSF JSP"
Just hit next a few times and finish, so i have a untitled1.jspx on there with all components enabled. and then drag and drop a PanelPage onto the JSPX page.
Instead of getting the template up, I get a page with
-<>ROOT
<>OUTPUT | Page Directive
This happens with and ADF component.
If i repeat the same process with other, older projects i can do this and get the correct template still.. So it's obviously something i have done to the way new projects are created.
Any ideas what i need to reconfigure?
