Finding the actual video files you have just imported

Hi everyone,
does anyone know, where the actual video files are stored on your machine once you have imported from a dv-cam into iMovie. I've searched everywhere for them and can only find the project file.

Hi abbotm50:
Welcome to discussions!
If you right click on the projects folder you should see the contnts-->media folder. They are in there.

  • Where on my Mac can I find the actual video files Revel is storing?? I'm FURIOUS.

I am absolutely INFURIATED.  I am shocked and furious to know that for over a year I have been paying for this service and ADOBE, of all software companies hasn't even bothered making an understandable export tool for this garbage.  I have to "Show package contents" and google for over an hour to find out what script or app I can input to extract the photos from all of the senseless subfolders,  and now I can't find for the life of me where the heck the video files are kept.  Now you may be wondering why I don't just select individual videos and export them?? Well, its pretty simple... there are hundreds of them.  They are all under different dates and i'd be sitting here for days exporting them one small group at a time.  I CAN'T WAIT TO CANCEL THIS GARBAGE PRODUCT.  I just need some help getting my beloved personal photos out of this tragic mess.  I am APPALLED by how poorly designed this software is.  I will NEVER AGAIN purchase a product from adobe or any company for that matter with this level of lock-in.  IT IS DESPICABLE!!!

    Hi Kirk,
Just making a note in this post that your question has been answered in your other post:
I need to know how to download all photos AND videos from 2 "libraries" within Adobe Revel. Please help.
    Best regards,
    Glenyse

  • None of the network adapters are bound to the Netmon driver. If you have just installed, you may need to log out and log back in order to obtain the proper rights to capture. Please refer to the product help for more information.

    Hi,
To analyze Lync issues I have installed these applications in my windows 7 x64 laptop
    1) network monitor 3.4
    2)Lync network monitor parser
    3)nmdecrypt2.3
    4)network monitor parser3.4
Installtion got completed successfully but when I try to start capture I get this error everytime.......
"None of the network adapters are bound to the Netmon driver. If you have just installed, you may need to log out and log back in order to obtain the proper rights to capture. Please refer to the product help for more information"
I read many technet articles and other blogs but that didn't solve this issue. I tried things like
    A) Run as administrator
    B) nmconfig /install in cmd
So could you please help me how I can fix this issue?
    Regards,
    Ajit

Seems our driver didn't get installed.  What you see when you type "sc query nm3" from a command prompt?
    Thanks,

  • SIP      Where can I find (JSR 180 Package - the actual jar files)

Hey guys I have been looking for this for hours I'm up to my ears in lovely documentation and samples where can I find the actual jar file of an implementation of the SIP API for J2ME.
    Thank you in advnace Brian

    jjsomer,
Unfortunately, we offer no such installer package. The closest thing to
what you desire is the LabVIEW Device Drivers CD which comes with
LabVIEW. It will install all hardware drivers. Another option would be
to write a batch file to run the installers in silent mode. Searching
ni.com for "silent install" should yeild several results for installing
our software products and device drivers without user interaction.
    Good luck!

  • Where is the actual Lyrics file found...?

    Hi:
Where can I find the actual lyrics files for my iTunes songs that are brought up after I have pasted them into the Lyrics section of the Get Info box? The lyrics appear in the box with no problem as does the artwork, but I would like to link other files to them from applications such as Music Collector Pro for Mac so that I am not duplicating files. Thanks for taking the time to answer.

Hello and Welcome to Apple Discussions ...
I see your point but unfortunately, the lyrics are in the Get Info window only, to my knowledge at least. One thing you can do is send Apple feedback! Go here: http://www.apple.com/feedback/itunesapp.html
Being pro-active and providing feedback really does help.

  • Where within CS6 Photoshop will I find the folder and file to clear the scratch disk on my harddrive ???

Where is the folder (and file) to erase the scratch disk ...

    There is no such folder.
The scratch file gets erased as soon as you close the file that was using it.
The rule of thumb I follow to figure out scratch space says to figure on 50 to 100 times the size of your largest file ever multiplied by the number of files you have open.  I have seen the scratch file exceed 800 GB once, an admittedly rare occurrence, but it often exceeds 200 GB when stitching large panoramas and the like.
As an example—and stressing that I'm aware that others have even more scratch space than I do—I keep two dedicated, physically separate hard drives as my primary and secondary Photoshop scratch disks and a lot of GB free on my boot drive for the OS.  I also have 16 GB of RAM installed.
Additionally, if you only have a single HD, i.e. your boot drive, you'd need it to be large enough to accommodate both the swap files of the OS as well as Photoshop's scratch.

I have an older Power Mac G5 Quad, and my video card just went out. I am trying to find a video card that will work for my Power Mac. I have duel screens but I can't seem to find the appropriate video card. The serial number on my computer is: RM620603R6W. Apple won't help me because the computer is older than suggested. Please give me the exact video card that will work best for my computer.

Hi Mike, make sure the card has Mac ROM, or is a PC card with Mac ROMs flashed to it...
G5 PCIe options are listed here:

  • Captured analog video, where does the actual captured file go?

I am backing up old analog video 8 tapes to digital, using a Canopus ADVC-55 converter. The process is going just fine as far as I can tell, but I am sure I will have more questions as I get into this further. I am using FCP 6.04.
As an initial test, I completed a Capture Now (non-controllable device selected) of a short 30 min. analog tape, using an older video 8 Sony Handicam, running through the Canopus interfacing with FCP. Primarily I want to run through all these old tapes (about 15 of them…) and back them up onto a dedicated Iomega external firewire drive, to retrieve for later use.
Question du jour… Where the heck is the actual data file on the hard drive? Isn’t the file I see in the bin, from a result of the capture, just an alias pointing to the actual captured data file? The FCP document is only 24 KB, but I know the data file is much larger. I have searched the drive high and low but cannot locate it… Can anyone answer this? Also, I’ve read in discussions here about doing transfer to DV (I have a Canon digital camcorder I could use) rather than the hard drive… but if this is for backup purposes only, should that matter? And wouldn’t I lose a step of quality that way?

I understand Kevan. For the time being, all I wanted to do was get these old 8 mm tapes backed up to digital format because I am afraid the tapes will degrade. They are about 12 years old. I also have some VHS cassettes that are much older that I plan to back up also.
Eventually I would like to build some family movies and will use these files, but if you think I should be capturing into DV (I can use my Canon DV camcorder I guess) I will do that instead.
Also, I will go ahead and define the folder so I can find the files more easily in the future.
I sure appreciate that you are taking the time to answer these questions, thanks again.

  • Deleting the uncompressed video file once m2v and aif have been created

When I create a dvd then close the project.
I then later delete the uncompressed video file captured from tape.
I reopen DVD studio pro and it tells me that it cannot find original file.
I tell it to used m2v encoded file as new video file and aif encoded file as new audio file.
But i am then given an error message and these two files disapear.
Can anyone help me out. Surely i should not have to keep the original captured video file for every dvd I want to make. The idea surely is that once DVD studio pro has made m2v and aif files then the project should be able to use those to create any further DVD of that project.

I've still never seen any problems with a single video track and uncompressed audio.
I won't argue that it never happens to anybody, of course, but I've made DVDs for a lot of people, and usually the only problems I hear tend to be a problem with their brand of player not being able to recognize the media. Those are relatively rare and almost always has to do with cheaper brands of DVD players. If they can get it to start at all, I haven't heard of any trouble with playing the whole thing.
I would like to know if that's the problem I had with trying multiple video tracks, though. DVDSP would refuse to even finish the build. It would start to mux, then partway through, say the bitrate was too high and abort. It was a long time ago, but I would've been using uncompressed audio and probably fairly high bitrate video (3.2Mbps, possibly even 3.5). Seemed stupid to me; I would've thought the muxing would be a smart enough design so that only the video and audio tracks in use at any given time (one video, one audio, one subtitle) would count toward your maximum allowed bitrate.
But that brings up another point you guys might try. I heard people mention 3.5Mbps. I use 3.2, and I don't see any noticeable difference in the quality of the video. But switching from uncompressed audio to ac3 definitely is a noticeable (downward) difference, at least using the stock Dolby 2.0 encoding preset included in DVDSP4 / Compressor 2 and a standard stereo (2-channel) source. I did several different tests where I encoded the audio both ways and burned a test DVD with multiple audio tracks, switching between them to compare. Even normal conversations on the ac3 (Dolby 2.0) track sounded quieter and less dynamic, and there was (naturally) an even more noticeable difference in any kind of music.
So you might give that combination (3.2Mbps video with uncompressed audio) a try in the future, especially if you're picky about the audio. If that fixes the problem, I think it's a reasonable sacrifice since the audio difference is more severe. Basically, if you're doing a professional enough job that the difference in video between 3.5Mbps and 3.2Mbps is important, then you should already be doing a professional 5.1 audio encoding from individual channels anyway.
BTW, I have my 3.2Mbps labeled "120min", since that's about what I can fit on a DVD with uncompressed audio. My other often-used settings are 2.8Mpbs for 135min (three hour-long TV episodes with commercials cut out), and 2.0Mpbs for 170min. (And I can't remember for sure, but the 170min may even be a slight overestimate, so be careful of cutting it too close if you use those settings.) I usually don't even notice a video quality difference with 2.8Mpbs, though I have only used that with a less-than-pristine source anyway, so the lower bitrate isn't the bottleneck for quality in that case.

Does anyone know what may be causing this problem?
    Thank you

Unless you held down the Command key when dragging the iPhoto Library package to the flash drive you only copied the library.  How is the flash drive formatted?  If it was not OS X Extended (journaled) the integrity of the library's internal structure was probably compromised.
If you don't have a current backup of your library do the following:
1 - launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down to open the First Aid window. Be sure to follow the circled recommendation in the screenshot.
    2 - run Option #4, Rebuild Database.

i downloaded an update from creative suite 5.5. to 6.0 and then switched computers for a few months. now I am back using the original computer and it looks like all of those Adobe applications (both 5.5 and 6.0) have disappeared. Maybe a "trial" was uploaded instead of the actual updates? Anyway, i just want to get the applications back onto my computer. i tried to enter the serial numbers on my original packaging but systems side error message from Adobe says they were already "redeemed" (which makes sense bc I already downloaded the updates. Apparently there is no phone customer service for Creative Suite anymore. ARRGGG. Any and all suggestions welcome!

there is no update from 5.5. to 6.0.
you could have upgraded from 5.5 to 6.0, but you would know that because you paid money.
assuming you paid no money for a 6.0 upgrade, you still have your 5.5 license.  uninstall clean and reinstall 5.5 per http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs5-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html

I have a non intel G5 and would like to download i-tune songs that I have recently purchased. I have tried everything and can't find the downloads. Did this G5 just become obsolete with itunes? If not what is the problem?

You can do it with Leopard but it depends upon the iTunes version which you did not reveal.  Also make sure you are looking in the right place for purchases.
Consider buying a backup drive so you do not need to do this again.  If you are going to run old hardware and software you need to live differently because yes, at some time you will find your version of iTunes no longer works.  You're lucky it still works with Leopard.  As you can see, some versions still work with the iTunes Store but not for repeat downloading.
Downloading (using iOS or computer) past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store - http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2519 - enabled with iTunes 10.3 and newer; not all media formats are available in all countries (see: iTunes in the Cloud, iTunes Match, and iTunes Radio availability by country - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5085); apps, books (not audiobooks), music, t.v. shows, and movies (some - not all studios have permitted this).  Downloading previously purchased movies and TV shows requires iTunes 10.6 or later.  Discontinued items not available. For items not included in the iCloud list (e.g., ringtones, audiobooks), or locations or computer systems where iCloud is not (yet?) available, you only get one download per fee paid.  Apple recommends,  "... back up your iTunes library. " (http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2519).
    Additional tip at https://discussions.apple.com/message/24176756#24176756
Select the iTunes Store on the left side of iTunes if you have the sidebar displayed, or with the button at the top right.
Click on Purchased on the right side under Quick Links (see https://discussions.apple.com/message/26364186#26364186)
You can re-download your available previous purchases.
