Finding "Use previous headers and footers"

Working in Word Processing, and I cannot find "Use previous headers and footers" (I need to uncheck it.)

You need to be in the second or later section of your document to de-activate that feature. Usually, if not always, things are grayed out because they don't make sense in the current context.

  • Changing Headers and Footers in a Section

Despite un checking "Use previous headers and footers" in Layout - Section, my headers are still spanning the entire document.  Can anyone help before I go mental.

    Hi PS,
Have you inserted Section Breaks in your document?
If so, you now need to retype the header for each Section. Also Page Numbers: Continue from Previous Section or Start at.

  • Help needed - Headers and footers of subtemplates not working.

    Hi,
I need to call 3 different subtemplates from the main template. Headers and footers of these subtemplates are differenet. When i call these subtemplates headers and footers is not getting displayed.
Can anyone please suggest how to display the headers and footers of subtemplates when called from another template.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
Thanks for your reply. Do you mean to call the headers and footers from the main template or in the sub template. I cant call in the main template because the headers and footers are different for each template. I used micrsosoft headers and footers in sub templates. But it didnt work. So created header and footer templates in the sub template and called them from the same sub templates using the call: statements. But when i run the prog am getting the below warning.

  • Is list of custom headers and footers. I can't find how to change the footer to print the Long Date

'''There should be a list of custom headers and footers.''' I can't find how to change the footer to print the '''Long Date'''. It took awhile just to find Page &PT. So I would appreciate if someone could post a list. Also if someone can answer how to print the Long Date.
    Thank you

When you're on a call, use the volume buttons on the left side of the device.  This will then adjust the In-Call Volume.

  • I want to disable the headers and footers. There's directions on ebay saying to go to firefox FILE and find PAGE SETTINGS to disable. I can't find these.

I need to print my ebay flyer and in order for it to print correctly, I need to take the headers and footers off the page. How can I do this on firefox? I don't see a FILE or PAGE SETTINGS anywhere. Anybody out there?

  • Headers and footers in accessible PDF

I have a Microsoft Word 2007 document with headers and footers. When I use the PDFMaker icon to create a PDF for Acrobat 9, I need the headers and footers to be included in the Tags panel and to have a number in the Order panel. However, the header and footer are completely ignored by Acrobat, and treated as "Background."
I sure hope someone has a suggestion about this; otherwise it will be a tremendous amount of work for a long document to add headers and footers into the Order panel and the Tags panel.

The Header and Footer on each page has been designated as an "Artifact".
Standard MO for any competent tag management facility provided with/for the authoring application.
    AT knows to ignore artifacts.
An overview of how to fold Header/Footer content into the structure tree open the Tags panel.
From the Options menu use "Find".
    Select Find: Artifacts.
When Header/Footer PDF page content is located (the blue box) return focus to the Tags panel.
Select the tag to which the identified content's Container is to placed.
(Upfront - give some thought as to what is to go where in the tree. Fraggled structure trees (bad/improper Tag semantics) can really hose a PDF in terms of accessibility).
On the Find Element dialog, click "Tag Element".
Note where the new Container appears in the structure tree.
Be sure that it and the parent tag are properly placed.
    Repeat for each Header/Footer.
Be aware that putting repeating Header/Footer content that, due to being in a Header/Footer, should be an artifact into the structure tree will result in AT presenting the content to the AT end-user over and over again as one moves through the pages.
An almost guaranteed way to really render the "message" intended for the end-user to be drowned out by the "noise".
Such PDFs can be very annoying and thus are, typically, set aside and avoided.
An unintended consequences is the perception that the entity who "owns" the content is, likely, not worth their salt and to be avoided as well.
Best practice — If content is salient to the semantic intent of the document it is properly folded into the text flow.
    Be well...

  • Common headers and footers in web applications

I want to include common headers and footers in all web applications. I do not want to include the header/footer in each application WAR file. I've tried to follow Orion's tutorial for building a response filter, and I get it working to the point that the header and footer show up on the page, but no other content shows up.
Has anyone used filters to include static headers and footers in web applications?
And is there an easier way to do this, that I'm not seeing??

    Hi Anu,
I have already gone through the document. In that i dint find anything related to headers and footers.Only thing that is available is sorting the dimension headers.
Please let me know if you have any other info regarding this.
    Thanks & Regards

  • Headers and Footers in Numbers

How can I put Headers/Footers in a Numbers sheet.
I was able to do this in the previous version, and then save as a pdf. Can'f see how to do it now.
    Thanks

    Hi Dale,
Numbers 3.1 has some interesting features, but has lost (for now) Print View (now reduced to Print Preview, non-editable).
To enjoy the features of both Numbers 2.3 (Numbers '09) and Numbers 3.1, drag the icons from your Applications folder to your Dock. Numbers 3.1 lives in your Applications folder. Numbers 2.3 (Numbers '09) now lives in a folder called iWork '09 within your Applications folder.
Right click on each icon in turn and Options > Keep in Dock.
Numbers 2 on the left (three column chart).
Numbers 3 on the right (four column chart).
    Both versions will run together.
Revert your document to Numbers 2 from within Numbers 3 (File > Export To > Numbers '09...).
Open the document in Numbers 2 (File > Open, or right click in Finder and Open With... > Numbers 2.3)
Then you will regain the features that allow editing of Headers and Footers.
    Happy Numbers!
    Ian.

  • When I print a web page, how do I adjust the printe margins so that the headers and footers don't fall off the page?

I have looked for a way to adjust the page margins for printing, but can't find it. I have found where to adjust what prints in the header and the footer. When I print, the headers and footers are so close to the edge, and sometimes half off the page edge at the top and the bottom, that I can't really read them. This didn't happen in the past. Maybe this has changed since the last update - I'm not sure. Is there a way that I can fix this, so that my headers and footers are readable?
    Thanks.

Someone else reported this sound last September, but there wasn't any resolution to that thread: [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/938003 After upgrading to Snow Leopard on my Mac, Firefox makes typewriter or paper crinkling sounds when going to links and sites].
Does it seem to be at all related to whether pages use Flash? Just wondering whether it is some kind of notification sound related to Flash's capabilities of using the webcam and microphone.

  • How to remove remove page headers and footers

    Hello
I can't seem to remove headers and footers from my sheet in print view. I am trying to print a chart and the header and footer are eating up valuable real estate! When using 'Pages' I can simply turn them off, where is the equivalent setting in 'Numbers'.
Any help would be much appreciated.
    Thanks

Is it really useful to respond to a ridiculous rant ?
We may perfectly define zero margins.
What can't be done is to completely get rid of Headers and Footers as we may do in Pages.
When we enter zero in the Header and Footer fields, we are defining the offset of the item to the top/bottom of the printable area. We don't set the item's height to zero.
A workaround allowing us to get quite zero margins in Pages :
Put the cursor in a header.
Define the font size to 1.
Put the cursor in a footer.
Define the font size to 1.
    doesn't apply to Numbers.
If we set the font size to 20, the header height become greater, if we set it to less than 10, the application set the item's height to 10 points.
From my point of view, it's clearly a bug (already reported) but I don't know any application with no bug.
So, if Mr MayBeDay is able to create an application without bugs, he may send a curriculum vitae to Apple which will certainly be glad to sign him.

  • "Headers and Footers" error message

Often when I'm in a topic and double-click on a template to
open it and get some standard text, I get a dialog box called
"Headers and Footers" which scolds me about "This topic was created
from a template and the header and footer has been modified." There
are two options: "Apply this modification to al topics created from
the template" and "Apply this modification to this topic only.
Note: Choosing this option will remove the link to the template."
Weird this is, neither my topics nor my template have a header or
footer. Did long ago, but I deleted it. Is this a common buggy
error, or perhaps something residual from a header/footer of long
    ago? Thx, Eric

Hi MunchMan and welcome to our community
Normally, we use Templates to create Headers and Footers and
apply them to a group or all topics. Naturally, if RoboHelp HTML
thinks you have modified a Header or a Footer inside of a topic
attached to a template, it is giving you the option of updating all
topics with the template attached or disassociating from the
existing template and basically "orphaning" the topic from any
    templates.
I'm not sure I'd classify it as a bug. More along the lines
of "working as designed" or "expected behavior".
    Cheers... Rick

  • Only headers and footers appear attempting to print PDFs in Safari 5.0.2

I am a Mac user trying to help my friend, who uses Safari 5.0.2 on his PC. He can open PDFs within Safari, but when he attempts to print them, all that appears are headers and footers (same thing appears in Print Preview).
    Any suggestions?

One thing that might be worth a try is uninstalling and then reinstalling his Adobe Reader, Don. (The theory is that that should swap out the nppdf32.dll file governing the Adobe PDF plugin used by Safari.)
Any better printing performance following the Reader reinstall?

  • In Pages, How can I get headers and footers to show up on more than the first page of each section?

In Mountain Lion, I considered myself a fairly expert user of Pages. Since "upgrading" to Mavericks, I can't get even basic things to work anymore. My current problem is that the headers and footers are only showing up on the first page of each section. A related annoyance is that if I copy the information in a header or footer, all the associated formatting disappears when I paste it. But the first problem is the one that matters — headers and footers that only show up on one page sort of negate the whole point of headers and footers.

If you click the link I posted previously, it takes you right to the Pages community.
