Finger Print Login in Win 8.1

I have entered my fingerprint to login to Windows in PC Settings -> Sign In Options
However there are no options during login. I tried swiping my finger over the reader, nothing works. I dont see the light blinking too.
I have configured for fingerprint login in windows 8.1 buy why is iy not coming up ?

Thank you for your query.
I understand that you have set up the Simplepass software with fingerprints but are not seeing that option when you turn on the notebook.
When posting it is very helpful to provide your exact model of HP notebook and your Operating System.
How Do I Find My Model Number or Product Number?
Do you have the validity sensor drivers installed?
Have you ran the HP Support Assistant to aid with HP updates?

Disappear Finger Print Login function !

Hi I'm user of x61.
I've tried to install nero 8 on my laptop and the installation failed halfway and restared the laptop.
After restarted the laptop, there is no more option to login by my finger print. There is nothing else wrong except it.
How can I reenable this finger print login function?

I lost my finger print login

I have been using finger print login since I set up my T430s a few days ago and all of a sudden I could not log in using it? At login I get "No attempts to start the service have been made since the last boot". What has happend and how do I correct it?

Can you still log in with password?
Can you run ThinkVantage Fingerprint software (the utility you used to enroll fingerprints)? Does it work?

HP ProBook 440 G2, Finger print reader not working when I upgraded form Win 7 Pro to Win 8.1 Pro

My HP ProBook 440 G2, Finger print reader not working when I upgraded form Win 7 Pro to Win 8.1 Pro.
In device manager showing that biometric reader is working properly. But actually the finger printer reader is not reading or senseing. It seems like "dummy" part. Please help me to correctly configure step by step for this issue.

W550S Finger print manager will not launch. win 7

Only had this laptop for 4 days now, when I first got it I registered my fingerprints in lenovos "fingerprint manager pro" from the control panel, few days later I wanted to change some settings, now when I launch fingerprint manager pro an error pops up that says
"Windows biometric support must be enabled to use this application. Enable biometrics in the Windows control panel"
Been searching and trying different things to let me open this settings manager but havent been able to solve it, if anyone has any suggestions for me that would be great.
The original issue I was trying to solve is that after waking the computer from sleep the first thing thats shows on the login page is "scan an enrolled fingerprint to log on" when this shows it takes like 15 seconds for the fingerprint reader LED to turn on, then even after that It never picks up my first swipe, after the first swipe the LED goes off for another ten seconds before I can swipe a second time this time it registeres and logs in, however, if I click "use other credentials" and select my username THEN swipe my finger it works instantly.
If anyone knows what is causing these delays in response from the FPR that would be amazing. It seems like after every swipe there is a cooldown on the finger print reader before I can swipe again and it seems WAY longer than it should be. This makes it really annoying to log in with the finger print reader because I cant tell when its actually ready to recieve the swipe.

Well, after updating fingerprint manager pro it is now launching and working flawlessly, not sure why, or what simply updating the software changed in terms of permissions/accessability but it works, so im happy.
Feel kinda silly not doing the obvious first but thank you for the help, much appreciated.

FireFox 4.0.1 does not support HP Simplepass Identity finger print scanner?

The previous version of Firefox would work with my HP Simple pass (finger print scanner built into the laptop) to be used as a password for all web sites that require a password. Firefox 4.0.1 does not know what to do when I scan my finger print on a login page. Can I remove Version 4 and go back to the old version that worked?

Portege R700 Finger Print Reader suddenly not recognised from OS

I have been searching for a solution
My R700 on Win7 was working flawlessly using the finger print scanner. At some point without any reason the
hardware (finger print reader to login) was not recognized by the OS anymore.
- I tried to remove the driver software, reinstalled it
- updated it and so on resulting that the hardware was not found.
- I even removed all relevant entries from the registry - no go.
- the Authentic Finger Print software starts up, but only giving an error that the FP-reader is not present.
Is there a way to remove the stored fingerprint manually by deleting the manually.
The hardware is working according to the support. (Machine was send in)
However I do not wish to re-setup the entire machine (it is a business notebook) just to get this to work?
Any hints or step by step intro to achieve this?
I could not find a descritpion on how to remove fingerprints (cause I suspect that is the problem) manually since the software to do this does not start up.
Any input would be appreciated.

If you don't see the fingerprint hardware or unresolved devices in Device Manager then the device is either disabled in the BIOS or the fingerprint sensor is faulty or loose, or there was a liquid spill causing corrosion.

i've recently purchased lenovo 3000 n100 0689 A65 notebook. Please let me know how to use the features finger print reader & bluetooth?

Everything works, except wine and some proprietary plugins like flash. I've even heard java was working (with icedtea?)
For wine and all the rest, I've set up a chroot (a 32 bit installation inside a 64bit) and while it duplicates some stuff then using the lib32, it is the official arch packages and not from aur. You also keep a clean pure 64 bit installation. See the wiki for the simple guide: http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Arc … bit_system
If you install firefox in the 32bit chroot, you cannot run it side by side with the your 64bit one (firefox script check for an existing opened window, and if one is find, open a new tab/window from it). So I compiled 32bit Icecat from aur (its firefox, "GNU's version of the Mozilla Firefox browser"). It will detect 32bit flash/java/other and you can launch it side by side with firefox.
To be honest, without flash I'm more productive (no time losing on youtube) and their is less add
