Fingerprint device disappeared.

Hi
Just bought IdeaPad V370. Installed Windows 7 x64.
Everything was Ok until I tried to initialize fingerprint application - BioExcess. It could not find the device. But I bet it was listed in Device Manager.
I tried to install Windows hotfixes KB974476 and KB978258 listed near the fingerprint driver. But no way, both are aborted with "The update is not applicable to your computer".
Questions:
1. How to fix disappearing EgisTec Fingerprint device;
2. Is it Ok to use on my V370 BioExcess application downloaded from V360 dedicated page?
Thanks

hi distagon.
as you said, please, use v360's download page to re-install finger print devices and post back the results.

  • Re: Portege R830 - fingerprint reader disappeared from device list

    Hi,
Today I encountered first serious issue with my brand new R830 - after a few sleep/resumes states and movements of laptop, fingerprint device disappeared from available devices list.
Firstly, I was able to see it working properly but I couldn't start fingerprintreader software nor log in to windows but after installing drivers fromt Toshiba website it disappeared completely.
Has anyone seen anything like that?
Thank you in advance for help.

    Hi again,
A brief update - sensor appeared this afternoon but not in fully working condition - it runs and appears in device manager but after a few minuts it turns "yellow" and shows information that this device cannot start (code 10). I saw that it shares generic usb hub with ericsson modem nad usb composite device (webcam) but after I disabled them in BIOS nothing changed. Authentec fingerprint service starts and runs ok - there are also no entries in system logs ... Do you have any ideas what's wrong?
I'm using Win7 PRO EN and Microsoft Security Essentials.
    Thanks in advance for help.

  • When I disconnect my iphone 3gs(iOS) from computer, the device disappears from my itunes. This prevents me from doing a wireless sync. how do i fix it so that my device stays on itunes without having to plug it in all the time?

When I disconnect my iphone 3gs(iOS) from computer, the device disappears from my itunes. This prevents me from doing a wireless sync. how do i fix it so that my device stays on itunes without having to plug it in all the time?
it worked the first few times i did it but the next day after i closed out of itunes once, the device only appears when i plug in my phone.

Whenever a menu choice is grayed out, that is because you have Restrictions turned on in Settings.  Be sure to turn it off.
You are confusing an itunes store account with an icloud account.  You two can continue using the same ID for itunes (thus sharing purchased music, apps, etc.), but you really should have separate accounts (different IDs) for icloud, since an account is intended for one user to keep his/her devices in sync.
To create a new icloud account, go to
    http://www.apple.com/icloud/setup/
Then go to Settings>icloud and scroll to the bottom of the screen and tap Delete Account.  (have restrictions turned off)  That will disconnect the device from the account but will not delete data in icloud or other devices.  Then sign in using the new ID.

  • USB devices disappear after using Apple TV

When I Option-Click on the Sound icon in my menubar, all of the USB microphone/headset devices show up. It's how I switch from headset to headset.
However, if I use my Mac to play itunes through my Apple TV, all of those USB devices disappear from the menubar's Sound Icon. And none of them work: sound comes only through my computer speakers.
Restarting the Mac doesn't fix it. The only fix I've found so far is to completely unplug the Apple TV (to end the wifi signal), and then restart the Mac. This makes all of the USB devices appear again, and are all chooseable.
    Anyone else see this behavior?
I'm running a "mid 2010" Mac Pro tower, GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon, and 10.9.1

I get this all the time w two ATV on the same wifi network.
First called "Apple TV", the second called "Living Room".
I see on ipad and iphone "Apple TV (2)" as one individual item. It looks like if finds "Apple TV" then finds the second one, but aggregates it into "Apple TV (2)".
Randomly, it will sometimes show two seperate ATV links in the airplay options, then revert back to "Apple TV (2)" as one option in airplay.
Is definitley a bug in airplay software.

if a Mac OSX Computer is in near - try iBackup Viewer.
This is free of charge and can read your backup.
and thats the main difference. Those tools are reading the saved Data in the backup
but itunes attempts to restore the data from the backup on your iphone. if there are any corrupted data in the backup - the backup restore goes wrong. this can happen during security software or wrong corrupt data already stored on the iphone.
if itunes messed up to restore from backup try this one :
    - restore your iphone to factory settings using HT1808 or reset all settings and content direct from iphone
    - rename your iPhone (e.g. iPhone Test)
    - setup your iPhone as new device -> attempt to make a new backup - if successful -
    - click in itunes on restore from backup... and choose your desired backup
    or go to:
    Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup/
    Windows XP: \Documents and Settings\(Username)\Application Data\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\
    Windows Vista - Windows 7: \Users\(Username)\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\
Pull your complete BackupFolder and try a different PC - copy the BackupFolder on this different PC in the same Path above - start iTunes and see if your Backup is there - attempt to restore from Backup again

  • After clicking 'sync wifi', my device disappears after disconnecting

instructions say to turn on syncing wifi
    then you can disconnect device
and device is supposed to stay listed
my device disappears from Device listing

Aside from what Chris CA suggested, just quit iTunes and then restart and see if the iPad shows up in iTunes.
@Laxman25 .....I sync and backup all the time without plugging my iPad into a power source. I never auto sync, I always initiate the sync and backup on my own. I don't trust auto syncing or auto backup, but that's just my take on the whole thing.
The last thing I want to have happen is to leave my device plugged in overnight to charge, leave iTunes running on my computer to sync and back up, come back the next morning, and find out that something disastrous happened while all this auto crap was going on. I would rather take 5 minutes out of my busy day to sync up and backup my iDevices on my own and then maybe I will not have to spend hours sorting out a mess the next day if something went wrong.
Cynical and untrusting attitude maybe .... But that's just me.

  • ERROR: Unable to detect fingerprint device

Pavilion dm4 laptop worked fine yesterday. Booted up this morning and the option to sign in with a finger swipe was missing.
PC has ""HP SimplePass Identity Protection" with a "Validity Sensors, Inc" fingerprint scanning device.
Clicking SimplePass icon and then clicking Control Center gives error message: "Unable to detect fingerprint device".
Device Manager for Biometric Devices says that Validity Sensor is "working properly".
Trying to update device driver indicates that the latest driver is already installed.
Tried a "Hard Reset" to see if static electricity buildup was the culprit, but nothing seemed to change.
Ran "Troubleshooter" to detect new hardware or changed hardware, but nothing was detected.
Made sure BIOS was set to Default Configuration.
No programs were installed yesterday, no updates from Windows or HP.
Stumped as what to try next. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Marty

    Hi Bryan,
Thanks for the suggestion, but I’ve already uninstalled and reinstalled the Validity Sensor drivers and the SimplePass software (in both Normal and Safe modes). SimplePass is still unable to detect the Validity Sensor.
I can open and run SimplePass and make a few changes to some general settings, and it seems to work fine. Also, Device Manager is still saying that Validity Sensor is “running properly”.
Had a detailed telephone conversation with Tech Support to make sure that I wasn’t overlooking anything.  We ran through a checklist, but the problem is still there. Tech Support and I think that the problem is a hardware failure of the sensor. Unfortunately, I was informed that I had to do a “lobotomy”, a full System Recovery, before they could authorize returning the PC. Right now the PC works absolutely fine except for the Validity Sensor, and I really can’t be without my PC for a week or longer. So … Tech Support has me scheduled for a callback in January.  Will do the recovery then.  99% sure that the recovery will not fix the problem, but now is definitely the wrong time of the year to be without my dm4t.
In fact, even thought the PC is only 4 months old and under warranty, I’d prefer it if HP could mail me a new sensor, and I’d install it myself, but don’t think HP would approve this option.

  • NI-DAQmx Devices disappeared in MAX Configuration

From time to time, our application will hang (black screen), the reason of this black screen is the NI-DAQmx Devices disappeared under Devices and Interfaces.
When I clicked on the + sign to expand the tree, any of item under My System
    - My System
         Data Neighborhood
         Devices and Interfaces
         Scales
         Software
         VI Logger Tasks

I have done that already, it will work for awhile, but then the problem will come back later after several On and OFF on the machine.
I get this error message under System Event Viewer.
The NI Configuration Manager service terminated unexpectedly. It has done this 1 time(s).
Source: Service Control Manager     Event ID 7034
The nidevldu service terminated unexpectedly. It has done this 1 time(s).
Source: Service Control Manager      Event ID 7034
I cannot duplicate the problem if I disconnect the computer from the machine "without" the NI cable connected. It seems this problem can happen when I have the computer connected to the machine.

  • Fingerprint Device access through firewall

    Hello Fellow Mates,
One of my client has a fingerprint device configured in his environment. There is the internet router then there is the switch and then some pcs and the device connected. All are accessible through their headoffice as well, but now when the firewall is implemented between the internet router and the switch. Everything is working fine. Everything is accessible from the headoffice except the fingerprint device. internally its fine but cant be accessed from out. ACL allows ip any any. so no ip or port issue. went through the below link and have done everything as well but not luck. The default gateway for the fingerprint device is the Internet router, couldnt give it as the firewall because its in transparent mode.

The JMX Management Server is only used to start up the native Memory Leak Server. The call to start up the Memory Leak Server returns an anonymous port over wich all further communication with the Memory Leak Server takes place.
This is not a technical constraint though; it just reflects the way the client is currently written. I'll make sure the next version of the MemoryLeak Detector client supports a user specified port for the communication with the Memory Leak Server - at the very least through a system property.

  • HP DV6-3010ax HDMI device disappears

    Hi,
I have a dv6-3010ax and when I first log in, I can see the HDMI device in playback devices, but when I plug in the HDMI cable between the PC and my panasonic TV, the screen flashes off and on again (so it now mirrors to the TV), but the HDMI audio device disappears - so I don't get any HDMI audio.
I've updated to latest HP bios and ATI drivers, but it keeps disappearing every time I connect the cable.  It never reappears, until I log off and on again.
    Anyone got any ideas?
    Thanks
    This question was solved.
    View Solution.

Fixed it - if I plug in the HDMI cable, then log off windows and log back on, it works.  Alternatively, if the laptop is shut down and I plug in the HDMI cable and boot up, it is fine.
But if I unplug it or let the computer go to sleep, it stops working again (i.e. disappears from the audio device list).

  • USB devices disappear?

Help! I'm having a problem with my USB devices disappearing off the desktop, never to be seen again, within a few seconds of plugging them in. Not sure what's going on, but here's a video of it... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_OlUel2lXQA
    Any ideas?

Are you getting any messages associated with the disappearances?
What kind of devices are affected. If they are exclusively bus-powered storage devices (don't have their own power brick to plug to the wall socket), they may be demand more power than the computer's USB bus can provide.
The cure for that is to buy a powered (does have a power brick for use in a wall socket) USB hub. The hub only has to worry about powering whatever devices you attach, thus taking a load of the logic board USB ports.

  • Sound devices disappeared

I plugged in some headphones that had a microphone built into it.  It made my sound preferences go wonky.  My Built-In Output has disappeared on the list of devices. For a time, I had to manually control the use of headphones as an "Output" and switch back to "Input". Now I absolutely cannot get any sound. Help?!?

Do you see a red light shining out from the headphone jack? Even if you don't, try connecting a set of headphones & disconnecting them a few times - there's a switch in there that might have gotten stuck.

  • Devices disappearing and taking over other device objects

    Hi everyone,
I have noticed some devices in my zone suddenly start picking up bundles and polices which are not related to their device folder. I looked in the folder where the device should be and could see that the device object has disappeared. I looked in the folder with the relationships to the bundles the device was getting and I couldnt see the device object in there either. I looked through the details of the devices in this folder and I eventually found an object with the correct Host Name and IP address of the device which had disappeared. The actual object was named differently. It looks like something has caused my device to suddenly take over another devices object in the zone.
We register our devices using rules which use the Host Name as the filter. The host names of these devices are completely different. Can anyone suggest a reason why this may be happening?
We are using ZCM 11 and Windows 7 64bit.
    Many Thanks in advance,
    Pete

To me this sounds more like a duplicate GUID issue than something going wrong with the host name based registration rules.
Is this ZCM 11.0 or 11.1(a)? ZCM 11 should have more mechanisms in place to avoid duplicate guid issue... In any case, have a look at this TID : http://www.novell.com/support/php/se...00%20313100822

  • Network device disappeared

    Hi!
I was adding some network devices to SCOM 2012 R2. One of my network devices appeared as a pending device. Reason: No Response SNMP.
After I added my scom management server to the accepted list on the server I wanted to monitor under the SNMP service it just disappeared from my SCOM management console. I cant find it under pending or Network Devices now.
If I try to run a discover again I cant find the device again, even if I remove the scom management server from the accepted list on the SNMP service. The only way to find the device again is to discover it only using ICMP.

    Hi,
Please check the event log of the Management Server where you assigned discovery to run. If discovery was a success, you will see your network device show up in the Admin console, under Network devices.

  • While extracting file during restore, device disappear from iTunes; then error message "device cannot be found" pop up

After failing to update iphone OS, now iphone is in restore mode
Device Manager recognize USB is connected to iphone with Location: Location 0 (Apple Mobile device (recovery mode))
IPhone in "connect to itunes" screen
After connect to itunes, message "itunes has detected iphone in recovery mode. You must restore this iphone before it can be used with itunes." appear.
In Device -> iphone screen, after clicking "Restore" button, itunes status become "Extracting software..."
During extracting software process, iPhone change from "connect to itunes" screen to just "apple logo", then go back to "connect to itunes" screen; but at the same time device-iphone disappear from itunes; once itunes complete extracting software, error message comes out "The iphone "iphone" could not be restored. The device cannot be found"
Tried again few times with all USB device removed & turn off all the anti-virus software and all other non window / non-apple softwares; but same thing happened.
so now I'm stuck.... please help.

after reading loads of forum, I didn't find anyone with the exact issue as mine. But I've followed some of the restore issue solution and now I've fixed my phone. Yeah! maybe not all the steps are necessary, but here was what I've done to fix it:
    1.     update itunes
    2.     Ensure Apple Mobile device driver is updated and work (i.e. iphones is detected in device manager)
    3.     run "msconfig", ensure all other non microsoft / non apple softwares are off
              - Services: only enable all microsoft services, apple mobile device and bonjour service
              - Startup: only enable QTTask & iTunesHelper
    4.    Restart computer
    5     turn on itunes
    6.    connect iphones via USB.
    7.     itunes show iphone in device column, but iphone still stay in "connect to itunes" screen
    8.     Hold Sleep button + Home button until the screen goes dark (iphone disappear from itunes device column at the same time), then just keep holding the home button (without holding the sleep button)
    9.     first time, though itunes showa iphone in the device column again, but iphone screen go from apple icon straight to "connect to itunes" screen and stay there again.
    10.     I repeat step 8, this time though itunes show iphone in the device column again, but the iphone screen stay dark showing nothing (instead of showing "connect to iTunes" screen)
    11.     then I click restore in itunes, this time it manages to finish extracting software without iphone restarting itself during the process; itunes find the iphone and complete the restore.
    12.     As I do backup all the time, now I just need to sync all the files / setting back to iphone, everything back to normal again.
still not sure what happened to my phone, but now it's fix =>
