  • Windows 10 driver for W550S

Hello, I'm looking for FingerPrint driver for W550S on Windows 10. When do you plan to release it ? BR Michel

Fingeprint driver comes from Windows Update.  If instead you are asking how to enroll fingers on Win10, it is done in the OS itself.  Unlike Win7 and Win8, there is no separate fingerprint software.  Go to Settings -> Accounts -> Sign-in Options , scroll down, and you'll see the options about fingerprint.

  • X121e: Driver for the fingerprint reader

    Hello,
I purchased a X121e notebook at Lenovo directly; it's of type 3045-CTO and has a fingerprint reader.
I installed Windws 7 x64 from scratch and loaded all drivers, but I can't find the driver for the fingerprint reader on the driver download website.
Please, could someone help me to find this driver / software?
    Many thanks.

    Hi saxa,
Download and run System Update and it should find your driver.  Read the directions. You'll need MS Net.Framework to make it work.
See if there is anything in the bios under the security settings for turning on the fingerprint reader.  Make sure it's on if there is.

  • I reinstalled Win7 Pro on nc6320 but need a driver for Fingerprint Reader.

Win7 Pro is now installed on my nc6320 but the Fingerprinter reader software does not work. I have seen similar requests but they do not work for the nc6320.  Thanks.

    Hi:
Below is the fingerprint driver you need:
    http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodTypeId=32...
Additionally, if you want to use the fingerprint logon feature you need to download and install the Protect Tools security manager
    http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodTypeId=32...
If you are missing any other drivers, just use the Vista drivers.
You card reader won't work unless you install this driver which is not listed on your notebooks support and driver page.

Hello aki380. I understand you're trying to locate some Windows 8 drivers.
Unfortunately, your notebook does not have any Windows 8 drivers available for download.
Did you try to install the Windows 7 driver in compatibility mode or just regularly?
Also, is the device listed in Device Manager?

  • Graphics Driver for HP Pavilion dv6t-6000 CTO Quad Edition Entertainment Notebook PC for Win 8.1

    Hello Everyone,
I currently have an HP Pavilion dv6t-6000 Quad Edition with intel i7 and switchable radeon HD graphics card . I have made the jump from Windows 7 to 8.1 as I am a Current University student studying Information technology and have the need to be updated in terms of technology. I found Win 8.1 to run a bit faster on my PC than Win 7. I have ran into a couple of problems when upgrading to 8.1.
1.) I've been having an issue finding the correct and stable Video Graphics driver for my Radeon HD 6770M switchable graphics. I tried intalling the original Win 7 driver in the HP driver but does not work properly. I have also tried download a generic driver from the AMD Radeon driver website, but the screen is extremly dim when intalled and is almost impossible to use unless I hold a lamp to the LCD screen. The brightness function keys DO get reconized when pressed, but the brighness will not change no matter how high or low the brightness threshold is at.
2.) It is a bit out of topic, but I have also been having alot of trouble getting the validity fingerprint sensor to work with Win 8.1.
I would really appreciate if anyone can help me with these issues or point me in the right direction in order to get them fixed. I am an IT student and have done alot of reasearch on these topics but have been unable to get them to work as intented.
P.S: I have read alot of fixes about brightness using regedit and edditing some values on specific registry entries. I have found them for many other pc manufacturers, but not for HP. Not an expert on registry stuff, but seems like many people get it fixed by doing so. Just an idea.

Due to the age of this model, HP is only providing drivers for Windows 7. After searching through the HP Forum, I was unable to find a satisfactory solution to your issue.

I can't get the fingerprint reader of my X301 under Win 7 to work. When I check under the d&d section on the lenovo site it says fingerprint software wasn't compatible with X301. Is there another way to get it working than waiting for a compatible release?

The Unpacked Fingerprint Software have only one MSI, MST and some ini files, but not inf files. :-(
Yes the fingerprint software include the driver so when you install the fingerprint software the driver is installed as well. You can check in windows device manager to see if the drivers is installed and working. If the software is unable to communicate with the fingerprint sensor there could be a hardware problem, but it could also be a software problem so it's hard to say for sure.
You could also check that the fingerprint reader is enabled in BIOS.

  • Fingerprint driver crash on T440p & T550p

    Hello Together,
i search a long time for an answer for my problem.
My problem is, that the Fingerprint driver crashed sometimes and after that the Fingerprint sensor is detected as unknown device in the Device Manager and you can't use it. The Point "biometric Device" This Problem comes after a restart, standby or after you had logged the screen. And a restart doesn't help
The only solution I found is, to delete the "unknown Device" and make a reboot. After this the Fingerprint have the right driver an all is functionality but only for a few weeks (~2 weeks).
Have you an Idea for a final solution?
In my Company this is a big Problem and we wouldn’t reinstall the Device every 2 Weeks on the same Notebook.
We have the Models T440p and T540p with Win 8.1 Enterprise and the System and the Driver for all Devices are stood on the current.
I hope you can help me with my problem.
    Thanks in advance

    Hallo Zusammen,
