Fiori Lauchpad on Portal start up

Hi experts,
we would like to implement the Fiori lauchpad on the Portal.
We don't have Fiori installed and we would launch only custom apps form the Launchpad (no SAP Fiori apps).
Where should we start from? I read a lot on the scn, but as the Launchpad for the Portal pretty new is, there isn't much information especially where to start from.
Do we still need the Gateway and the Fiori installation on it?
If yes, on the Service marketplace there are a lot of possible Fiori installation components, but which one should i pick for our case?

Error in Fiori Launchpad "could not start the app due..."

Hello everyone,
I am having a previously unseen (well, at least for me) error which raises on a click on the tile "Track Purchase Orders" on the SAP Fiori Launchpad:
"Could not start the app due to an internal error" (see the screenshot attached)
I haven't found any help on this error on Google and SAP portals.
The other applications work fine. So did this one before the implementation of SAP_UI 740 SP09 (before that it was SAP_UI 740 SP08). We applied all the notes specified in this post http://scn.sap.com/docs/DOC-56967
Components needed for Track Purchase Orders are patched to their maximum levels (UIX01EAP 100 SP03 and SRA020 600 SP05). OData and UI5 services are activated.
Plus, this error doesn't appear in the Gateway error logs (transaction /iwfnd/error_log) so troubleshooting is difficult.
The issue is systematically reproducible and has been reproduced on several computers.

I'm surprised that gbapp_poapproval and sra001 OData services are called here (with an intriguing ";mo")... We have found these errors in our /iwfnd/error_log screen after the SAP_UI 740 SP09 patch. Seeing this, we have installed GBAPP002 600 SP6 and SRA001 600 SP4 and activated the OData services but have not tried to use the corresponding apps (meaning that we have not done any other app implementation tasks because we don't really intend to for the moment).

FIori Application on Portal, does we need gateway server?

Hi All
My company starting SAP FIORI implementation.
Upgradation of gateway server on 740 going on.
Also
same time upgrading Portal from 7.0 to 740.
Also
i heard about FLP on EP.
So
My question
1) it is possible to implement SAP FIORi apps on portal? (might be yes)
So
2) Does we need gateway server for this?

Why not sca file for SAP FIORI apps. so not need gateway server.

Offline in fiori lauchpad

Hi experts,
I have a requirement where i need to implement offline feature for applications in fiori lauchpad. For example suppose i login to the fiori launchpad , say i have 5 - 6 applications. Now i need those applications to run when i go offline. Is it feasible??

To get offline capability for browser based apps, look at the following,
You can achieve full offline capability using IndexDB. Since the HTML 5 spec has been finalised, all major browsers now support IndexDB as opposed to the older WebSQL. Storage is dependent on the browser and platform. Desktop is a % of disk space for Chrome. Google for other browsers. We managed to get around 100MB for Safari in iOS. I recommend using third party libraries like PouchDB since they do the hard stuff for you and all you concentrate on is the design and implementation of your application. Also, to achieve offline capability you need use the HTML 5 offline capability with the manifest file (Google it!) so as to ensure your files cached on the device.
Fiori Offline however requires SMP 3 (latest SP). The Offline Kapsel plugin needs to be used. You will need to edit the Fiori app in question to add code to determine which service to make offline for creating data stores etc. This is based on what I've been researching. Please correct me if I'm off topic here.

Settings for SAP Portal start page from BEx Query Designer

In order to see queries I would like to use SAP Enterprise Portal from BEx Query Designer.
When I push "execute" button within BEx Query Designer a wrong page will be shown in browser.
I changed the settings in table RSPOR_T_PORTAL, but still get the wrong Portal page shown in browser.
Question:
What is the transaction/table/report to customize the portal start page using by BEx Query Designer?

I am about to implement SAP Best Practices scenario "B34: Accounts Receivable Analysis".
Therefore I load the data from SAP ERP IDES system into SAP NetWeaver 2004s system.
My problems are:
when I try to load the transaction data for Infosources 0FI_AR_4 and 0FI_AR_6 from SAP ERP system the following happens:
- the status is getting u201Cyellowu201D (194 from 0 records)
- at the next day the status is getting u201Credu201D and I received the following error:
Errors while sending packages from OLTP to BI
Diagnosis
No IDocs could be sent to BI using RFC.
System Response
There are IDocs in the source system ALE outbox that did not arrive in the ALE inbox of BI.
Further analysis:
Check the TRFC log.
You can access this log using the wizard or the menu path "Environment -> Transact. RFC -> In source system".
Error handling:
If the TRFC is incorrect, check whether the source system is fully connected to BI. In particular, check the authorizations of the background user in the source system.
Comment:
I did not find any entries on "Environment -> Transact. RFC -> In source system"
The Source system connection EC6CLNT100 is OK
Can some one help me to solve this problem?

Thus, while installing, you need to install the Infrastructure ( which will contains the OID , SSO, etc. ), and the Middletier ( Portal, etc. ) later. The Portal MiddleTier depends on the Infrastructure.
Oracle Portal allows you to collect disparate sources of information and applications and present it on a single page. A Portal is a Web site or service that offers a broad array of resources and services, such as email, forums, search engines, and on-line shopping malls. It's more like a "doorway" to the Internet or a portion of the Internet, targeted towards one particular subject.
You can develop an application & post it on a Application Server - but, publishing it on Portal allows you to collect many such similar applications. Portal is usually used as a sinlg epoint of access for many similar / related kinds of applications.

Portal "Start SLD" error

Dear Gurus,
System : NW 7.31 EHP1
I configured SLD in portal, as screen shot maintained below all neccesary RFC status is "Not Defined".
By the way sld is running and configured
When i "Check SLD Connection" Test connection is sucessfully, but seems port -1 and URL is strange(as screen shot) . i dont know it is true or not.
When i "Start SLD" i am taking error like this
What is wrong with that guys ?

The second screen shot you have attached should have the host name, URL.
To properly configure this service, the following must be done. Use the Destinations Service to:
1. Set up the registration by creating a destination called "SLD_DataSupplier" of type HTTP. Enter the following configuration settings. (Note: The specified user must have the user role "SAP_SLD_DATA_SUPPLIER" or higher on the target SLD Server.)
- Appropriate URL (http://<host>:<port>)
- Authentication should be set to BASIC
- Appropriate User Name and Password
2. Set up the AS Java access to the SLD by creating a destination called "SLD_Client" of type HTTP. Enter the same configuration settings as in the SLD_DataSupplier destination. (Note: The specified user must have user role "SAP_SLD_GUEST" or higher. Aditional write access permissions may be required by certain applications. Refer to the corresponding application documentation for SLD access requirements.)

Portal starts very slowly

I have 800MB of HTML+DOC+PDF files.
I tried 2 senarios.
A. place a webapp with the above files in a directory and start
WLS6.1sp1, the server started within 2 mins.
B. place a webapp with the above files in a directory and start stockportal
WLS6.1sp1 + wlp 4.0 , the server started within 30 mins.
Question:
How can I make my startup faster?

Try weblogic.developer.interest.application.deployment), perhaps someone
there can help. I don't have much experience with sites with 800 MB of
static pages. ;-)

Integrate Citrix Application into portal / Start Citrix from portal

Hi,
I would like to integrate some citrix metaframe applications into the portal.Or start the citrix within the portal.
I know SAP does have this solution in their teaching environment. On SAP courses I worked with this.
How is this made? I tried it with an URL iView but it doesn't work. Do you have any suggestions?

Launch Portal Start page without IE toolbars

Hi guys,
We have this requirement where after user logs in and is authenticated, the portal contents to be displayed will appear in the window without IE toolbars. I have seen forum posts to
1. Customize the Log On page to insert javascript that will disable IE toolbars
However, we are using a 3rd-party loggin mechanism and thus will not use the standard SAP's logon page. This rules out this option for us.
Does anyone have any advice as to how we can go about to implement this?

Import Buisness Packages: jump to Portal start

and select client or press the button search on the import
view, the portal jumps to the startpage.. nothing happens..

SAP Portal 7.31 - Fiori integration

Dear All,
We are planning to configure Portal –Fiori. Portal is totally with BI reports. Should we need to do any SSO for Fiori ??
Current Portal level is 7.31 SP20.
There are many docs in detailed on only particular area but I didn't see any step by step docs for initial starters!!.
Can anyone share steps what need to setup/check for scratch please.
