Fire fox keeps telling me outdated

fire fox not working needs updating but its not comapatible

what kind of machine is your Mac? Intel or Power PC? I don't know if firefox made a version for Power PC (probably not). Other than that, check what OS you have installed? If you have Mountain Lion, then yes, you can get the latest version of FireFox. If you are on the Beta Channel, then FireFox should tell you that it needs updating.  Otherwise, go to mozilla.org and download the appropriate version of FireFox for your Mac. If you have Leopard, then get the Leopard version, If you have Snow Leopard, or Lion, then get that version. Maybe you need to update your OS. Check under  the Apple on the left hand top corner of your screen, and then "About this Mac"
and it should tell you what OS and what version you currently have installed on your Mac.  I don't know what kind of Mac you have (iMac, Mac pro ?) or even what generation (again, found under "about this Mac" then "More Info"
so I can't help you too much
good luck

hello SalvdrnG24, this sounds like an issue caused by malware on your machine. please perform these steps:
    # [[Reset Firefox – easily fix most problems|reset firefox]] (this will keep your bookmarks and passwords)
    # afterwards go to firefox > addons > extensions and in case there are still extensions listed there, disable them.
    # finally run a full scan of your system with different security tools like the [http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free free version of malwarebytes] and [http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/adwcleaner/ adwcleaner].

  • How can I change from using Adobe in fire fox to using only adobe app. I have checked in tools to use adobe reader but adobe in fire fox keeps coming up.

I know I was able to do this before. Under tools - options - applications - PDF files are listed to use Adobe reader but everytime I open a PDF it comes up using adobe in Firefox. I do not that. Want to be able to open the PDF right there.

    My instruction should be:
    Tools / Add-ons / Plug-in
and you should see Foxit Reader Plugin there. Click on the line and you'll see a "disable" option there.

  • So how is it fire fox keeps crashing for everyone but the firefox team. are you guys using Chrome or something?

    Firefox 36.0.1
So firefox keeps crashing on youtube, Facebook, Brainjet, Answers.com. It's often sites that have either forums or auto start videos.
YET I keep seeing you guys asking for some "Error codes" as if you've NEVER had that problem. So how about this. Instead of assuming that my NON-ADD ON version is the corrupted puppy, tell us what in god's name you guys use.
Chrome, Safari, IE? there's no way in hell you're using Facebook, Youtube, things that use flash and NOT seeing the crash. So every time you guys ask us for those codes you're lying and hiding the fact that it also happens to you, or you're using something where it doesn't happen.
I'm amazed that if I open up 3 or 4 windows, sometimes 2 Facebook, a youtube. and something that has comments section, I'm getting this thing locking up and all the research I was doing is wasted where I have to start again.
So… Don't ask me for any codes. Just tell me what you're using because obviously it's NOT crashing. Frankly I'm shocked so many people keep having the same problems but not one of you guys seem to experience it. I'm beginning to doubt this "surprise" error stuff.

To be fair, I use a heavily modded version of Fx and my only complaint is memory leakage (starts 450,000K with a few tabs open, flash, etc. and gets up to 1,400,000K even if new tab page is the only thing open). That's probably a plugin issue for me though.
Usually when Fx crashes it pops up with the crash report menu. You should be able to find some more info about the crash there. It could be a corrupt Fx file, a problem with the JIT compiler, your video card drivers, or even your computer hardware like faulty RAM.

  • The new version of fire fox keeps crashing my entire computer if i pull down the scroll bar to fast and when using sites that use flash player my other browsers work fine its only started happening since it updated to 3.6.10

Firefox keeps crashing my entire computer if i pull down the scroll bar too fast or go to websites that use flashplayer and sometimes for no reason at all. My other browsers work fine and firefox did till the update.

There has been a security update of the Flash Player and the current version is 10.1 r85 , so you are two versions behind (previous was 10.1 r82).

  • Hello, I'm having trouble twit firefox. When I open it my home page opens for a second then disappears and fire fox keeps trying to load the same page.

This problem started last night, I have uninstalled firefox and re installed it, but the same problem persists.

hello davidbutterly, it sounds like a theme or extension might be interfering here. please try launching firefox in safe mode once and see if the issue is occurring there too. in case it's working correctly, please go to firefox > addons > extensions and disable/remove any extension that look suspicious/you didn't install intentionally or that might interfere with the tab loading behaviour.

  • Need to stop fire fox from asking me to update my browser how do I do this

Fire Fox keeps telling me I need to update my browser, newer browser is not compatible with my banking system. I updated and could not access my bank account, so I went back to previous version but I keep getting notice to update it is very annoying, how do I stop this.

You should always use the latest Firefox version for your daily browsing to have the best protection.
If you really need to use an older Firefox version for specific websites then either install this older version alongside of the current Firefox release by doing a custom install and creating a new profile and desktop shortcut or by using a portable Firefox version.
    See:
    *http://kb.mozillazine.org/Creating_a_new_Firefox_profile_on_Windows
    *http://kb.mozillazine.org/Shortcut_to_a_specific_profile
You can install a portable (ESR) Firefox version to access websites that do not work with the current Firefox release.
The portable version comes with its own profile folder and doesn't interfere with the currently installed release version.

  • Fire for 4 keeps telling me to reboot

Downloaded fire fox 4 and can't get to it, keeps telling me to reboot and I still end up with the thing telling me to reboot.

Try rebooting the computer, do NOT open Firefox and then try the clean reinstall.
Certain Firefox problems can be solved by performing a ''Clean reinstall''. This means you remove Firefox program files and then reinstall Firefox. Please follow these steps:
'''Note:''' You might want to print these steps or view them in another browser.
#Download the latest Desktop version of Firefox from http://www.mozilla.org and save the setup file to your computer.
#After the download finishes, close all Firefox windows (click Exit from the Firefox or File menu).
#Delete the Firefox installation folder, which is located in one of these locations, by default:
    #*'''Windows:'''
    #**C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
    #**C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox
#*'''Mac:''' Delete Firefox from the Applications folder.
#*'''Linux:''' If you installed Firefox with the distro-based package manager, you should use the same way to uninstall it - see [[Installing Firefox on Linux]]. If you downloaded and installed the binary package from the [http://www.mozilla.org/firefox#desktop Firefox download page], simply remove the folder ''firefox'' in your home directory.
#Now, go ahead and reinstall Firefox:
##Double-click the downloaded installation file and go through the steps of the installation wizard.
##Once the wizard is finished, choose to directly open Firefox after clicking the Finish button.
Please report back to see if this helped you!
