Fire fox update crash

Fire fox just updated automatically and now it won"t connect to the internet. This is very frustrating as i need it for work. Fix this problem now

If you are using Windows the usual reason for not being able to connect after new Firefox update or install on Windows (not as much of a issue on Mac or Linux) is due to whatever Firewall you are using is blocking the new firefox .exe yet it may still be allowing the previous .exe version.

sigh...this is quite idiotic, but I have found a solution. It was quite simple, really, and yet quite idiotic. I share it for all those reading so that, if you know of anyone else that did what i did, you can easily be the "hero" in their lives.
After a continued search via youtube or what have you for any possible solutions, I kept coming back to the fact that I was told by my computer that I didn't have "permission" to do the file deletion. I stumbled upon a youtube video that talked about "unlocking", "locking", certain files and what not.
Long story short, the reason why I couldn't do anything to the files that were on my desktop was due to my "locking" the desktop folder. I must have done this a while back not knowing what I was doing nor the ramifications of clicking a simple box.
    I undid this by:
    Opening Up Finder
then, going to MacHD --> Users --> My Account Folder
clicking on Desktop Folder, I "cmd+I"
I then, unclicked the "locked" option
I went down to the cog/settings and selected "Apply to enclosed items"
resulting then in having all my files on my desktop free accessiblity and delete-ability....
oi...at least I now  know what "locking" a folder (even the desktop folder) can do to other files held within it

Hopefully you are able to shed some light on why this continues to happen.
    Thank you
    Kate

hello, maybe that's an issue with hardware acceleration - please try [[Upgrade your graphics drivers to use hardware acceleration and WebGL|updating your graphics driver]]. this should be the latest update for your configuration: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/24695/Intel-HD-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-7-8-8-1-32bit
or in case this doesn't solve the issue disable hardware acceleration in the firefox ''menu ≡ > options > advanced > general'' (that setting will take a restart of the browser to take effect).

  • PDF in an Iframe causes Fire Fox to crash

When a page is loaded with a PDF in an Iframe, Fire Fox crashes almost instantly. It appears that this is a known issue?
In what release is this expected to be fixed?
    Thanks

Those are problems with the Flash plugin.

  • The new fire fox update fubared my fire fox browser

    now fire fox won't start.

I'm not absolutely certain, but I believe the Yahoo video player requires '''Shockwave For Director '''and the '''Quicktime '''plugin, neither of which you appear to have installed.
To get Shockwave For Director, go to http://get.adobe.com/shockwave/
For the Quicktime plugin, go to http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/
I notice your Flash player is also out of date. Please update that via http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/

    Hello David.
You may be having a problem with some extension or plugin that is hindering your Firefox's normal behavior. Have you tried disabling all add-ons (just to check), to see if Firefox goes back to normal?

  • The new version of fire fox keeps crashing my entire computer if i pull down the scroll bar to fast and when using sites that use flash player my other browsers work fine its only started happening since it updated to 3.6.10

Firefox keeps crashing my entire computer if i pull down the scroll bar too fast or go to websites that use flashplayer and sometimes for no reason at all. My other browsers work fine and firefox did till the update.

There has been a security update of the Flash Player and the current version is 10.1 r85 , so you are two versions behind (previous was 10.1 r82).

  • Fire fox is crashing as well as "sent" mails are not opening, all of a sudden, continue & cancel will appear, sometimes copy & paste is not working

-The system has crashed/closed on it's own. Have had to put the pc off to get the system started again, yesterday, the hotmail was not opening either, once it opened after some time, other times I had to open Mozilla again.
-Some of the "sent" emails are not opening for me to check what I've written.
    - After I've opened my hot mail account, the continue & cancel signs will appear again.

As the day progressed, all other files quit being able to save to the desktop.  As I tried to diagnose the issue, I went through the Repair Disk in Disk Utilities and was told by that program to close and use the disk repair from Recovery HD (CMD + R upon reboot).  I did that and was eventually told the HDD was too far gone to repair.  I reformatted and restored from Time Machine following the instructions given.  All is good now after 24 hours of work.  I have no idea what happened but I'm not feeling real safe about my mac today.  I have an SSD on order.

  • FROM WINDOWS (VISTA) A PROBLEM HAS CAUSED THE PROGRAM TO STOP WORKING CORRECTLY. WINDOWS WILL CLOSE THIS PROGRAM AND NOTIFY YOU IF THERE IS A SOLUTION. FIRE FOX UPDATED TO THE LATEEST, I WOULD RATHER NOT HAVE AUTO UPDATES.

You may select how and whether Firefox updates, although like most software it may be sensible to keep it up-to-date, it is more likely to remain secure and compatible with other software whilst up to date.

  • Fire fox update check

    Hi
i want to active the auto update for all people in the compagnies
is there a way to do this remotely ? change a setting in a file without doing a gpo ...
    Thanks

You can use a mozilla.cfg file in the Firefox program folder to lock prefs or specify new (default) values for prefs.
Place a local-settings.js file in the defaults\pref folder where also the channel-prefs.js file is located to specify using mozilla.cfg.
    pref("general.config.filename", "mozilla.cfg");
These functions can be used in the mozilla.cfg file:
defaultPref(); // set new default value
pref(); // set pref, but allow changes in current session
lockPref(); // lock pref, disallow changes

  • So how is it fire fox keeps crashing for everyone but the firefox team. are you guys using Chrome or something?

    Firefox 36.0.1
So firefox keeps crashing on youtube, Facebook, Brainjet, Answers.com. It's often sites that have either forums or auto start videos.
YET I keep seeing you guys asking for some "Error codes" as if you've NEVER had that problem. So how about this. Instead of assuming that my NON-ADD ON version is the corrupted puppy, tell us what in god's name you guys use.
Chrome, Safari, IE? there's no way in hell you're using Facebook, Youtube, things that use flash and NOT seeing the crash. So every time you guys ask us for those codes you're lying and hiding the fact that it also happens to you, or you're using something where it doesn't happen.
I'm amazed that if I open up 3 or 4 windows, sometimes 2 Facebook, a youtube. and something that has comments section, I'm getting this thing locking up and all the research I was doing is wasted where I have to start again.
So… Don't ask me for any codes. Just tell me what you're using because obviously it's NOT crashing. Frankly I'm shocked so many people keep having the same problems but not one of you guys seem to experience it. I'm beginning to doubt this "surprise" error stuff.

To be fair, I use a heavily modded version of Fx and my only complaint is memory leakage (starts 450,000K with a few tabs open, flash, etc. and gets up to 1,400,000K even if new tab page is the only thing open). That's probably a plugin issue for me though.
Usually when Fx crashes it pops up with the crash report menu. You should be able to find some more info about the crash there. It could be a corrupt Fx file, a problem with the JIT compiler, your video card drivers, or even your computer hardware like faulty RAM.
This help page also mentions a few common causes and how to fix them:
