Fire FTP is not working with firefox 4 and i need it badly. how do i do to make it work in the new version?

sinds i upgrade firefox to the new version 4, fire FTP it's not working. i cannot open it. and i need it badly to work everyday. so i would like to know how to make it work in this new version. what do i do? how i can open it?

To restore the classic menu bar, you can do any of these:
orange Firefox button > Options > Menu Bar
tap the Alt key > View > Toolbars > Menu Bar
right-click a blank area of the tab bar or navigation bar > Menu Bar

I'm not sure I understand the question, is the message tone going more then once?
Turn off repeat message alert here:
settings > notifications > messages > repeat alert > never
Some people have found this does not stop the repeat miessage tone,
if you are one of those then I suggest you contact Apple:

Site can't be viewed with IE, works with Firefox and Chrome

I have a family site that works fine with Firefox and Chrome, but with when we created a new page and uploaded it, it can't be viewed with IE.
http://www.thetravelintexans.com/states.htm was modified to add the very last picture in the last row, it was uploaded and works fine.
If you click on the last picture Andrew at Disney, it takes you to this page http://www.thetravelintexans.com/AndrewsDisney.htm . This page acts like it is loading in IE, but quickly says Done at the bottom of the screen, but it is blank. The source code can be viewed, but no detail of page at all. Again, it works fine with Firefox and Chrome.
I am using Dreamweaver CS4.

IE does get a bit anxious when it does not have DOCTYPE to work to. It tends to fall back into a quirks mode and behave irrationally. Makes me think of myself when I do not have goalposts to aim for.

Which fingerprint password managers work with firefox and windows 7?

I am running Windows 7 Home Basic on a Dell XPS laptop. I have recently switched to Firefox because Internet Explorer is making me crazy on a regular basis. It is not allowing some downloads and installs and I am tired of going backwards to find another IE that will work. Firefox seems to be doing the trick so far. I want to purchase a biometric fingerprint reader to manage my passwords, but most don't seem to work with Windows 7, and many of the ones that do will not work with Firefox. Has anyone run across the device I am looking for?

I'm missing the "foxfire" button. It's simply not there and I need to re-import my IE favorites, but I can't becasue the new upgrade forces you, (me), to use a button that simply is not there at the top left where it should be but isn't.

Well that's pretty much it. The foxfire help page, now that I've upgraded to the newest version says to look for the "foxfire" button at the top left which would be located in the blue bar that instead still tells me what the name of that particular page is that I am viewing, just as it always has but there is no "foxfire button there for me to click on in order to get my bookmarks, my favorites re-imported from IE version 6.0. I actually installed them via the instructions under foxfire version 6.0 a month ago originally without any problem, and then again on version 7.0 after I recently rebuilt this machine using windows 2000 professional and everything got imported Okay except for one file... And of course it was the most important folder, my favorites folder which I had named "business" because it was the folder which contained all my links that I need for "business". So naturally, I am eagerly awaiting a reply to tell me what it is that I need to do. Could it be as simple as I have not re-booted since I upgraded earlier today/yesterday? That actually IS a possibility I suppose because I don't remember re-booting afterward or being told to in or after the process of upgrading. After the upgrade, there simply was not any indication that I needed to. (As I recall anyhow!) It's currently one in the morning and that was twelve hours ago. But I honestly don't think that I was instructed to after clicking on "install" the new version. But if it did tell me to afterward, I'm sure I must have even though I don't remember it as my extensive history with personal computing and installing everything from hardware to software including operating systems tells me that if it had told me to re-boot, I would have.

You are on Windows 2000, you do not have a "Firefox" button, and should consider yourself to be fortunate in that you still have menus and don't have to do anything to get the menus back instead of the "Firefox" button. (The same applies to Windows XP users).
Use the "File" menu to get to Import. You are not on Windows 7 or Vista, and don't have to put up with the nonsense added for Aero.
If you want the "Firefox" button you can get it with View -> toolbars -> (uncheck) Menu Bar. The menu bar and the "Firefox" button were supposed to be mutually exclusive (which is impossible in some cases without being incompatible).
Once you are using the "Firefox" button ...
Use the "Alt" key to view the menu bar (temporarily) containing File, Edit, View, History, Bookmarks, Tools, and Help. On Windows 7 and Vista, the menu bar was hidden by default in Firefox 4 and above. These menu items are more or less available under the "Firefox" button which has the most used of the built-in Firefox menu items available in a different format.
To get back to having menus again. "Firefox" button -> Options (second column) -> (check) Menu Bar

Image cache not working with Firefox and apex

Hi,
I'd like to cache all my images to save page rendering time and bandwidth because my images are all static and never change.
I use the John Scott's caching technique Link: [http://jes.blogs.shellprompt.net/2007/05/18/apex-delivering-pages-in-3-seconds-or-less/], in a few words this technique consists of adding a header line "Expires: date in the future" in the http response.
It works very well in IE, the images are cached and the same image can be accessed several times (within the same session or in different sessions) without issuing an http request to the server each time.
with Firefox it does not work, the same image is asked again and again to the server (i'm using FF 3.5 and APEX 3.2).
- Is it a date format problem? no, because when i type about:cache in FF, i can find my image in the cache with an expire date in the future.
The weird thing here is that the counter is incremented each time u request the image, so FF knows it is in the cache and even if the expire date is in the future, FF asks it again to the server.
- Is it a FF bug? If u read the http specs or if u google a little, u can come to the conclusion that FF does not follow the standards,
but... images.google.com for example manages to get its images cached with FF.
They use an http response header "cache-control: public, max-age=604800".
I tried the same and all kinds of combinations but without success.
When i compare my image with the one from google in the FF cache, they both have the same attributes.
- It's not an apex issue neither because it works with IE, most probably an incompatibility between apex and FF?
Maybe the use of cookie? or the http request (not the response) containing "cache-control: max-age=0"?
I've found so far 2 half solutions:
1) use ETag and modified date, see the Tyler Muth's note Link: [http://tylermuth.wordpress.com/2008/02/04/image-caching-in-plsql-applications/].
with this technique FF continues to send request each time but the answer is shorter because it's just a "304 not modified" instead of "200 OK" (200 response is bigger as it contains the image).
it's better than nothing but you still have 1 request + 1 response for nothing.
Another problem is that you need SYS access to implement this, which is not possible on an hosted server. (note that for images from the file system it is already foreseen by apex 3.1, Tyler's note is for images from the db)
2) if you preload the image (using myimage=new Image();myimage.src='...';), then there is max 1 request per browser session.
There are 2 minor issues here:
- no caching across sessions
- if u don't want to preload all the images (example a page with lots of thumbnails, when user clicks it show a bigger image, in that case the thumbnails can be preloaded but overkill for the big images), then you need to load the image, wait until the image has loaded before displaying it, it does not slow down the execution, but requires some extra JS.
I'm not asking anyone to investigate it, i can live with the 2 workarounds,
but just in case someone encountered the same problem and already fixed it.
Let me know if u managed to use the John Scott's technique with Firefox. (U can use Firebug to see the http traffic)

Why do certain functions of "click on" not work with Firefox and Ebay and my mailboxes?

When going to my mail (especially Yahoo mail) I cannot click on the boxes that allow me to delete or whatever. In addition, I can't hardly use Firefox at all with Ebay and other sites because of a similar problem. For instance, the cursor won't even change to a 'hand' on "Sign In" on Ebay nor will it allow me to change the page number if I have multiple items for sale or buying. I've had to switch all of my bill paying sites to IE for this same reason. Got any ideas? I'm currently using Firefox 17.0.1.

FaceTime used to work, now it will not- any suggestions with issues that changed the functioning of it? I cannot trash it and when I try to purchase another app for it, it says I have the newer version

I downloaded the FaceTime app to my macbook pro- it worked great. All of a sudden, it won't allow me to log in with my apple ID, won't advance to the next screen.
I tried to trash it, won't let me.

I sign in and it takes me to the page saying "NEXT" but when I click on that, it takes me back to the sign in page. My contacts all disappeared. And I cannot open the FaceTime Preferences pane- is grey and Not able to be clicked on to open. My apple ID works but my FaceTime will not.

There are 2 versions of Adobe Flash player; one for IE (ActiveX) and one for most other browsers including Firefox (Plugin). You do not appear to have Flash installed for Firefox (Plugin) on the system used to report your question (click "More system details" to the right of your original question, "Shockwave Flash" is not listed). You can check in your Firefox Add-ons > Plugins to see if "Shockwave Flash" is listed but disabled. When updating Flash on a Windows system with IE installed, you should always update both.

I am totally frustrated with Firefox and would like to know how to uninstall it. I am getting obscene pop-ups, and when I ask for specific information, other unrelated information pops us. I have had this for one day and don't like it.

Additionally, I cannot find my address book listed on any toolbar. I also put in the address for a site that I have previously gone to and get a page that says that the address can't be found. The address is that of a library. I am not pleased.

Do a malware check with a few malware scan programs. 
You need to use all programs because each detects different malware. 
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of the database before doing a scan.

Well, two thoughts.
The battery has completely discharged and will take overnight to recharge, so don't expect much in an hour.
The battery has deep discharged and is now dead. It will never recharge and should be replaced.

Firefox 2 was released in Oct '''2006''', over 5 years ago. It isn't supported by Mozilla any longer and isn't safe to use, as it is missing over 3 years of security updates that newer version of Firefox have.
My advice is to contact Target and ask them to provide a plugin for current versions of Firefox - not one for a 5 year old browser.
