Firebug shortcut {Ctrl + Shift + C} toggles Firefox Developer Tools instead of Firebug Inspect Element

How I can I disable Firefox's shortcut key for {Ctrl + Shift + C} so that Firebug can take it's usual action of element selection? This has only recently started since Firefox updated itself to v25.0.

Try out this add-on; '''''Customizable Shortcuts'''''. It not only lets you know what
the sortcuts are, but you can change them if you want.

  • I am not a developer, how can I make "inspect element q" go away simply?

I am not a developer, how can I make "inspect element q", in the right click menu, go away simply and without interfering with anything? I, and I'm sure many others, don't need things to accidentally click and mar the smooth running of things. Thank you.

You could try this add-on: [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/menu-editor/ Menu Editor]. If you try it, please post back on whether it works for this.

  • Help! How do I get rid of firefox developer tools.

I am a computer dummy. Firefox is installed in our Windows 8 computer as our browser. Whenever we use it, a very annoying thing called Default Fire Fox Developer tools comes up at the bottom and takes up half our screen. Sometime it lets me hit esc. to close it but then it just pops back up. We use our computer for the net, e mail and social media alongside learning sites for our kids. How can I get rid of this thing? Please help me and explain it like I am 6 .

If it happens again then please make a screenshot and attach it to a reply to make sure that we understand correctly what is happening.

  • Ctrl + Shift + T doesn't work

I am using the new Firefox Developer Edition as a stand-alone on Ubuntu, so I can still use the "old" version, too.
Everything seems to be working fine, as in I am logged in and setup sync.
However, I cannot re-open a closed tab with the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + Shift + T, nothing happens when I try.
When I click on "About Firefox Developer Edition", it shows these details:
    Firefox
    Developer Edition
    36.0a2 (2014-12-09)
Firefox Developer Edition is up to date
You are currently on the aurora update channel.
There is already a question just like this one

    "browser.sessionstore.max_tabs_undo" is set to 10
    "browser.sessionstore.max_windows_undo" is set to 3

Yeah I had that issue too i had to hit Command+Q a couple times then do the CTRL+OPTN+ESC or CTRL+SHIFT+EJC.
Good Luck; Hope this Helps -

  • I need an alert message if I press ctrl shift b

    Hi All,
I Need an alert message if I Press "ctrl+shift+b"(to make the selected text bold). Is this possible?
    Regards,
    Chinna

Create a keyboard shortcuts (ctrl + shift + b) for your script and try...
    Code must be like this:
    alert("Bold Shortcut....");
    app.selection[0].fontStyle = "Bold";
P.S.: you have to set conditions for bold, bold italic, etc.

  • File Save As versus Ctrl+Shift+S

Is there a way to make the menu function File>Save As and the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+Shift+S behave the same exact way.
When using the menus, the file automatically opens with the new name.  It also automatically makes it a PSD file (if something photoshoppy has been done to it).  It also doesn't make it a copy.
When using the keyboard, you have to select the file type from the list.  It doesn't automatically open the file with the new name (frustrating if you are still editing).  And it always makes it a copy.
Is there a setting I have turned on or off?  This behaviour runs through the CS5 suite, Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator.
Please send any suggestions or tips to correct this.  It is so much easier to use the keyboard short cuts but takes longer due to the behaviour.
    Thanks,
    Gilley Estes
    Adobe CS5 Suite

Thank you for the responses.  I suspect I haven't explained the situation very well.  My first detailed explanation was deleted (by me after accidentally hitting Ctrl+A then delete; there isn't an undo in this forum...).
Let say for example I have opened a JPG called Image_Tree.jpg.  I do some photoshoppy things to it, like add a layer and an effect.
If I press Ctrl+Shift+A, the Save As dialog opens.  I change the file name to Image_Tree_Modified but the file type remains at JPG.  I have to manually select PSD.  It also automatically makes it a COPY.  So I have to delete the word COPY from the file name.  After clicking Save (or pressing Enter), my JPG file is still the one open in Photoshop.  It doesn't automatically open the newly saved PSD file.  I have to close the JPG and open the PSD.  This can be a problem if I continue making edits to the image and accidentally press Ctrl+S without first opening the new PSD file. It overwrites the JPG file with my changes.
Now taking the same JPG file with the photoshoppy elements...
If I go to File>Save As, basically things behave in a way I would call normal.  The file type is automatically set to PSD and the file IS NOT specified as a COPY.  Also after clicking Save (or pressing Enter), my newly saved PSD file is automatically opened for me to continue working on it.
Maybe it is just me but I would expect the behavior between File>Save As and Ctrl+Shift+S to be exactly the same and they aren't.  This is true for the products across the CS5 suite.  Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator.
I have tweaked a few keyboard settings but only to make some hotkeys.  For example, Ctrl+Shift+C is Image Crop on my computer.  Ctrl+Q is Image Trim.  Other than that, I have left the system the same as it was out of the box.  In fact I had to replace my personal settings one time by renaming a file then launching Photoshop again.  This undid all my personal settings.  The only ones I have reset are the one mentioned above.
I hope this very long response (sorry for the length) helps explain better what I am noticing and asking.
Thanks again for the responses and any help.

    Gilley Estes

  • How to stop ctrl+shift+s in reader

I am opening a pdf in browser as popup. I have hidden the browser menu bar and reader plug-in's copy/save bar. So user is not able to select save command from any menu. But he can use the shortcuts (ctrl+shift+s) to save the pdf. I think this is reader's plug in command can I restrict this.
My intention is not to make user, able to save the pdf to his system directly. Cache is not a problem.
    Please help me....

    I m agreed what u said.
As I said before cache is not problem.
I just do not want to give any option to the user through the popup window(which contains the pdf) to save the pdf.

  • WiFi connection is dropped on CTRL-SHIFT-Eject

    Hi,
I use the keyboard shortcut CTRL-SHIFT-Eject to switch off my display and lock the computer when I am leaving my desk.
Unfortunately, this also seems my WiFi Connection to drop.
Is there any way I can prevent this?
    Thanks,
    equi

    Hi admisi
This issue is very strange. I have a Satellite P20 and my e800 is also connected via the USB cable but I really have no this kind of problems. The wireless connection to my router is configured on both units and I can use it both on the same time (in this case I usually remove the PDA from the cradle).
If I understand you right you use just one WLAN. Do you have the same problem if you remove PDA from the cradle?

  • Why are web developer tools not available on Firefox for Android?

I do some freelance web design. I just replaced my laptop with a tablet last year (Samsung Galaxy 10.5 S). I want to do web development on it - I work from a terminal doing Ruby on Rails and web development all the time. It would be awesome to have the F12 developer tools handy in Firefox for Android, but sadly I've waited for a while and there is no indication they will ever appear.
Do NOT suggest using a remote debugger - I'm not testing the layout of pages on my tablet, I want to be able to profile, view source (without an add-on) and such. I have seen this exact question marked closed by suggesting remote debugging, and I fail to see how telling me to use my tablet next to a laptop or desktop is a solution. Telling me to carry a second device means I don't need the tablet at all, when my intention is to ONLY use the tablet.
My tablet has a huge screen resolution and a powerful processor - more powerful than some laptops? Why is Firefox for Android neutered? I would understand disabling it by default to help those with less powerful devices, but why remove something that would add a competitive edge to your product, and is already integrated in desktop Firefox and has been for years? I prefer Firefox, but if Chrome adds web developer tools for Android first, I'll switch to Chrome.
There are people today using a tablet as their sole computing device. Please do not relegate us to a second-class Firefox experience!
    Thanks,
    Ryan

  • Developer Tools is spazing out!!! What to do?!?!?!

Now i have had spills and other stuff on my laptop. but it works absolutely great other then its monitor... anyways, when ever I open firefox developer tools keeps spazing out. What i mean by that is, the developer tools keep popping up, even when im not even touching it. After it pops up it instantly minimizes the tool bar and then pops up again. It just repeats and repeats with no end at sight. There are times where it does it really slow and instead of showing a empty white void in the tool bar it shows the actual developer tool bar with a exit, minimize, the commands and security tabs. I have tried to click the exit button but it just ignores the mouse. please help! although i can control the website behind it it takes over half of my screen. In which case i can't really do much. I have also set the devtools.toolbar.enabled to false in the about:config but nothing is different. Its a possibility that it may have made it slower. I do have a feeling its my mother board being in really bad shape but other then that im stuck and don't know what to do. Laptop is actually a old acer netbook.

    Hi Lord_Zeushlar,
The feature should be like any other toolbar in Firefox where you can hide it and select is as hidden. However Resetting Firefox to its default, factory state would most likely reset this feature.
[[Reset Firefox – easily fix most problems]]
    # Open the Firefox Menu
    # Click on the Question Mark
    # "Restart Firefox without Addons"
    # When it restarts, select Reset Firefox
NOTE: This will remove all customized data in Firefox, however it can be restored: [[Back up and restore information in Firefox profiles]]

  • How can I disable the web developer's damned shortcuts? For ex. reopening a page Ctrl+Shift+T now opens the console, not doing the basic FF command... Terrible.

Shortcuts are the same - web developers tools are opening now for CTRL+SHIFT+T instead of reopening a closed tab, etc... It's very annoying.
I cannot remove web developer, however I never wanted to install it.
about:config does not work, neither reinstalling Firefox....
Is there any solution other then switching to Chrome??

Yes, that is a problem with the Hungarian language pack.<br />
See my post in this thread for more details.

Maybe a bug should be filed on this issue.

  • [LAVA Cross Post] CTRL+SHIFT+Alpha Shortcuts don't work in LabVIEW

    Cross-post from LAVA: http://lavag.org/topic/15619-ctrlshift-shortcuts-sometimes-not-working-in-labview/
Bug Synopsis: CTRL+SHIFT+Alpha shortcuts do not work in LabVIEW. Most notably, CTRL+SHIFT+Z, CTRL+SHIFT+E, and CTRL+SHIFT+S
    Test setup: LV2012 32bit with f1 patch running in Win7 64bit inside a Parallels 8 VM in OS X 10.8.1
To summarize the testing I have tried:
Many different LabVIEW, Guest OS, and Host OS combinations all fail, including:
    LV2012f1 32 and 64 bit, and LV2009 32 bit
    Win7 32 and 64bit, and also WinXP x64
    Parallels 7 and Parallels 8
    OS X 10.7 and 10.8
Capturing the keyboard by the VM
Twiddling every keyboard setting possible on Parallels, Guest, and Host
    Reinstalling keyboard drivers
Plugging in a known-good keyboard that works on a native Windows machine
Deleting LabVIEW.ini and letting it regenerate
Remapping the shortcuts from, e.g., CTRL+SHIFT+E to CTRL+E - in this case, "Show in Project" works, so this might indicate it's a problem registering the shortcut press, not invoking the action itself.
Sending the keystrokes via on-screen keyboards from both Guest and Host
Sending the keystrokes via SendInput from user32.dll WinAPI
Testing every imaginable combo of FN, CONTROL, ALT/OPTION, COMMAND/CMD, SHIFT
Reinstalling VMs from scratch and reinstalling LV
Here's a kicker: CTRL+SHIFT+Alpha shortcuts work fine on other Windows programs (I've tried 4 different programs, including Chrome, Notepad++, Paint.NET), yet it does NOT work for VIPM with CTRL+SHIFT+C. This means that the only two programs where the CTRL+SHIFT+Alpha bugs exist are both LabVIEW-related.
Here's another kicker: It's only CTRL+SHIFT+Alpha shortcuts with the prob - CTRL+SHIFT+3 properly toggles grid alignment, and the "Tools >> Options >> Menu shortcuts" will register any CTRL+SHIFT+Non-alpha shortcut; it just does not respond to the CTRL+SHIFT+Alpha shortcuts.
Any new troubleshooting ideas are highly appreciated; please feel free to jump in here or on LAVA.

  • The hotkey for Private Browsing ( CTRL Shift P ) interferes with another program I have running in the background. Is there a way to disable or change the Firefox Hotkey?

    Question:
The hotkey for Private Browsing (<CTRL><Shift> <P>) interferes with another program I have running in the background. Is there a way to disable or change the Firefox Hotkey?

    You can try this extension:
    *Customizable Shortcuts: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/customizable-shortcuts/

  • Problem: Ctrl+Shift+P does not work to toggle private browsing. It opens up a new private window, but no longer will toggle back to regular mode.

Opening private browsing w/ Ctrl+Shift+P works fine. But when I try to toggle back, it just opens up a new private window.
Is this a bug? Or an intentional change in the newest version?
Those of us who depend on keyboard shortcuts are often overlooked in software revisions. Users like me want to keep working without leaving the keyboard to grab a mouse...
    Any suggestions or advice?
    Thanks.

thanks. hard to lose an old keystroke habit....

  • Ctrl+Shift do not shift between languages in Firefox and Opera browers

Pressing Ctrl+Shift on the keyboard do not shift between languages when typing in Firefox and Opera browsers, but it works fine in Word and other applications. I have Windows XP SP3. My browsers are updated.

Firefox has menu items that use the Shift and Ctrl modifier keys (e.g. Ctrl+Shift+Z = Redo) and those can interfere, especially when typing in a text area.
You might have more luck with Alt and Shift instead.
Try to assign different keyboard shortcuts to each of the installed languages instead of using a key sequence to cycle between installed language layouts.
