Why videoclip is ok in Firefox running from localhost, but not in Firefox running from remote server.
The videoclip is ok as it shows in Opera both from localhost and remote server.

    You can try to repair the permissions for the Firefox application files and folders.
    You can also do this:
    * Download a new copy of the Firefox program: http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/all.html
    * Trash the current Firefox application to do a clean (re)install.
    * Install the new version that you have downloaded.

  • Firefox 7, on Windows 7. It's suddenly stopped all downloads, picture saves etc. I uninstalled it, and reinstalled it, but it's still the same. Any ideas as to what to do, please?

    I've now got Firefox 8 - so could, I guess, try installing that, instead. This problem happened quite suddenly, in the middle of a browsing session. I'm not so happy with the alternatives (Opera,IE and Chrome), and love Firefox, so would like to put this problem right! I'm using an Acer notebook One 722, by the way. Grateful for any help! Thanks! A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
    Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

  • Firefox stopped working on my computer yesterday afternoon. I have the Windows 7 operating system. It wouldn't open, so I updated Firefox and it still won't open. What's the problem?

    I used Firefox yesterday morning and it worked fine. I went back to my computer yesterday afternoon and Firefox wouldn't open. I've tried everything. I even updated Firefox. But it still won't open. I have the Windows 7 operating system. Is there a compatibility issue? Internet Explorer works fine. But I prefer Firefox. Please let me know what I can do to fix the problem. Thanks.

  • Firefox blocking resource request from localhost

    I am developing a site on my local machine using using tomcat and MySQL v5.5.24. Site works fine on Chrome, however firefox and IE are blocking javascript consistently for 20 secs on page onload. Every page on firefox from localhost minimum takes 20secs to load for different resources (css/js/image) . Other sites works fine though on firefox.
    Same page when loaded using Chrome is loading under 1sec.

  • Firefox just updated and now when I try to look at the pictures that have been downloaded it starts loading a welcome site, but never finishes. I do not know what is going on.

    I have some pictures that were downloaded from some emails. I was on AOL thru Firefox, when there was an upgrade. Allowed the upgrade & restarted. When I went back thru Firefox onto Yahoo.com to my mail site and then opened pictures it started going to somewhere that starts with: http://us.mc1801.mail.yahoo.com/mc/welcome?.partner
    It just keeps circling a green arrow like it is trying to load but nothing happens. I have tried several restarts and it does the same thing. As I type this the green arrow is still working. Do I need to call AOL support or what? Thanks Alice

  • FireFox isn't working right on my Mac. Sometimes it won't load at all( says server not found) and sometimes pics and video won't load. If I switch to IE or safari it works fine.

    I just got a Mac ( I have always had a pc) and I loaded the most update version of Firefox on it. Many times during the day I will go to a website and it will get a "Server not found" message. I can't refresh the page and fix it, but if I go to IE or Safari the webpage shows up fine. It's not just the webpage cause it is never the same one and it can happen to any site. Also when using Firefox there are many times when I go to a page and not all the pics load or if there is a video on the page the video doesn't load. Again if I then go to IE or safari everything is there and works fine. I have uninstalled and reinstalled FireFox and nothing changed. I cleared my cache, cookie, history and still nothing. I love firefox so this is really frustrating. Any help please.

    Did you ever fix this, because I am having the same problem

  • How do I change the view to something I stumbled across in firefox that I can't replicate, foind any help on, attach a picture to show you or contact you about.

    Really, really bad support. have been at this for 20 mins . . . just spinning my wheels. And it does not help that your support function does not include ability to send pictures or files. Here's a work - around . . . go to https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/64948069/Screen%20Shot%202014-03-24%20at%203.50.09%20PM.png and let me know how I can recreate this display of a string of messages? ul.
    I can't seem to do it, and as mentioned, support is not helpf

    That picture is Thunderbird... This is listed as Firefox. I have changed the details to Thunderbird.
    That image you have is Thunderbird showing a thread of messages when you click on the collapsed thread.
    I have no idea how you navigate your mail without a folder pane visible, but the squiggly line to the very left of the message line is where you click to expand the thread.

  • My Firefox no longer works, it will not go to any website and offers the message "The proxy server is rejecting connections". I had the same problem in IExplorer but was able to fix it. I did not choose a proxy server, ever. How do I fix this in Firefox?

    I changed out my wireless router, from a Linksys to a Netgear. Everything seemed to work fine, but shortly afterward Firefox could not be used to find any websites, and gave me the message above. The same happened with Internet Explorer, but a tech representative for my ISP directed me to the page where "proxy server" was incorrectly checked and it fixed the problem. I don't know where to go in Firefox to find the same or a similar page. My laptop continued to work fine for some time after, but eventually developed the same problem. I uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox, with no luck, and all desktop shortcuts based on Firefox are inoperative. I just keep getting the message that the proxy server is rejecting connections. Since I did not select a proxy server, I don't know how to deselect it.

    No idea what "tried everything" means.
    Here is how you troubleshoot a password problem.
    Go to your email providers web mail page and verify that you have a working username and password by logging into your account there. If you cannot log in there, look for the link to reset your password. Your email password is administered with your email provider.
    Once you have a working password you need to remove any stored passwords in Thunderbird and replace with the new, working password.
    From the menu bar select''' Tools-Options-Security-Passwords-Stored Passwords'''
    Remove the passwords for the problem account. Close Thunderbird and restart it. You will be asked for a password. Enter the new password.
    No menu bar with Tools? Press the '''alt '''key.
    FYI: Thunderbird settings are stored in a different file from the program. Removing the program and reinstalling just keeps you busy for a little while and rarely fixes anything. As you have seen the old settings are picked up when Thunderbird is reinstalled.

  • Why doesn't the Zoom work on images in Firefox 4 ? The page Zoom works for webpages but not for pictures like Firefox 3.7 did :(

    I have already seen the "page Zoom" help article and that doesn't solve the problem.
    with Firefox 3.7 i could view an image and use the "control" & + & - keys to zoom in and out but with the new Firefox4 that zoom only works on webpages and does not work for images like it did before.
    is there a solution to this ?
    example:
    http://nssdc.gsfc.nasa.gov/planetary/lunar/images/a11easep.jpg
    when i had Firefox 3.7 , i could zoom in and out but now it doesn't work with Firefox4
    what's the deal ? : )

    Check the Zoom settings: View > Zoom > Zoom Text Only
    * http://kb.mozillazine.org/Zoom_text_of_web_pages
    Press F10 or press and hold the Alt key down to bring up the "Menu Bar" temporarily.

  • Recently Firefox posted a note when I opened Facebook. "Something" regarding profile pictures on incoming messages. I clicked on it and now cannot get the pictures back. How can Firefox reverse this?

    Cannot restore profile pictures on incoming messages in Facebook. At a recent point Firefox flashed a note saying they were "deleting or removing" something from my FB and I thought it was for one thing only. But now ALL profile pictures on incoming messages in FB are not there. Facebook does not help at all.

    See:
    * http://kb.mozillazine.org/Images_or_animations_do_not_load
    You can use these steps to check if images are blocked:
    * Open the web page that has the images missing in a browser tab.
    * Click the website favicon ([[Site Identity Button]]) on the left end of the location bar.
    * Click the "More Information" button to open the "Page Info" window with the Security tab selected (also accessible via "Tools > Page Info").
    * Go to the <i>Media</i> tab of the "Tools > Page Info" window.
    * Select the first image link and scroll down through the list with the Down arrow key.
    * If an image in the list is grayed and there is a check-mark in the box "<i>Block Images from...</i>" then remove that mark to unblock the images from that domain.

  • New version of Firefox is missing settings. I cannot block ad links or animated pictures any more. I have uninstalled Firefox and plan not to use it now.

    The new version of Firefox does not allow me to block sites from displaying media that I don't want. Many site advertisers trigger unpleasant animations and pics and I refuse to use a browser that does not allow me to block those. Because of this I have uninstalled and deleted Firefox from all my computers, including programs, settings, and registry entries.
    If I get a reasonable answer from Mozilla on the settings I am missing then I will re-install Firefox, and if not then I'm never using Firefox again.

    None of the solutions above allows me to block display of all images on a web page or to prevent scripts from running. Preventing pop-ups does not cut it. I want to see a web page that, without my explicit permission, displays nothing but text on every site. This has to do with regular content on pages, not advertisements. So far, it seems, the new Firefox is unable to provide this security.
    These days so many 'advertisers' (so they call themselves) are competing more and more viciously to hijack web pages that I need to access by using auto-linking and animated images to get around ad-blockers. I need to be able to block everything except text on a page unless i give specific information to allow it for a particular site - some sites do not allow those ads and I can release the restrictions on those sites.
    I am not using Firefox, and also have some complaints about other browsers; I am considering doing all my work on the Tor browser.

  • Why does Firefox keep crashing when I use it on my Dell Precision computer w/XP operating system?

    Well, this is embarrassing.
    Firefox is having trouble recovering your windows and tabs. This is usually caused by a recently opened web page.
    You can try:
    Removing one or more tabs that you think may be causing the problem
    Starting an entirely new browsing session

    If Firefox crashes frequently but stops crashing when you are in Safe Mode that is a pretty sure sign that there is something wrong with your individual setup of Firefox on your Windows 7 machine.
    (The 99 others claiming to have the same problem this week probably have their own distinct and separate problems - if you are one of those 99 it may make sense to start your own questions about your problems, if you do not see suitable answers).
    Many malware problems would continue even in Firefox's [[safe mode]], so the good news is that malware may not be your problem.
    Note that safe mode does not disable plugins, you may wish to consider testing with your plugins disabled, just in case they are interacting with something. To temporarily disable plugins use
    * '''Firefox button -> Add-ons -> |Plugins|'''
    You do not list the Firefox extensions that are in use, maybe one of them is a problem. I suggest you try Firefox with half of them disabled, if that solves the problem, the troublesome add-on may be in the other half, disable them all and then try with half of the other half enabled. (If you have more than a handful of add-ons it is faster testing like that than enabling or disabling one at a time)
    One very important question is how do you know Firefox is crashing ? <br/>will you please explain exactly what happens, and what if any error messages you are seeing. (If firefox freezes/hangs that may be different from Firefox or the OS crashing, and require different solutions).
    On a general note the following articles may help with troubleshooting:
    * [[basic troubleshooting]]
    * [[troubleshooting extensions and themes]]
    * [[http://kb.mozillazine.org/Standard_diagnostic_%28Firefox%29]]
    and if the problem is a true crash
    * see [[firefox crashes]]
