Firefox 18.0.1 does not work on Mac OS 10.7.5

Dear colleagues,
Lately my firefox 18.0 got automatically updated to 18.0.1. Since then I'm not able to load any page, firefox starts normally, but it can not load any page (the load animation goes on forever). Version 18.0 was working perfectly untill the update. I tried to reset firefox completely (deleting all folders in Application Support, removing everything related to it), I tried reinstalling and nothing seems to help. I'm using Mac OS X 10.7.5, I have all latest updates insalled, I don't use any proxies, and the only firewall I have - system firewall is set up to allow firefox to connect. If I delete everything and install back the old version 18.0 I have no problem but as soon as version 18.0.1 is installed it can't load any web page.
I'll appreciate any support on that!
Thank you in Advance!

Try to disable IPv6, also check for other solutions.

You can try to reset (power off/on) the router.
You can also try to uninstall (trash) and reinstall Firefox.
You can find the latest Firefox release in all languages and for all Operating Systems here:

Go to your actual realplayer (program), click the top right button (Realplayer with an downwards arrow) and update your software. Make sure Firefox is closed while you do this.

  • Firefox Find on Page does not work reliably in XML.

I'm troubleshooting xml in firefox. I noticed that CTRL -F find on page does not work for finding strings "reliably".
Sometimes it finds something and sometimes it doesn't.
    "Strings that are there"..
You can find next, next, if it worked, but then if you find previous it will fail at some point.
(View source, find on page) works though.. but not a native page.

Make sure that "Match case" on the find bar (Ctrl+F) doesn't have a check mark.

  • Installed new version of Firefox, now scroll wheel does not work

Installed new version of Firefox, now my scroll wheel does not work. I need this fixed immediately or will be forced to abandon Firefox as my browser. Can anyone help? I saw some Q&A on this but no definite fix. Thanks!
    == This happened ==
    Every time Firefox opened
    == Immediately after I installed

I have the same problem, plus more. I cannot click on a button, does no good. I have been using 3.01, would never upgrade; always had a problem since 3.5. Now I upgrade to 3.66 figuring the problems were over, wrong. No scroll wheel, no buttons, cannot close half the windows, cannot go to a bookmarked page. Did Microsoft take over Mozilla? If I wanted a junk browser, I would use IE. I want the Firefox that it used to be; stable, reliable. What happened? Only way I can get Firefox to work is in safe-mode.

  • 10.4, How to stop plug-ins update reminder, Windows fix does not work on Mac.

Need to get rid of bar across top saying plug-ins are not up-to-date. The "fix" posted for Windows does not work on my Mac. When I try for updates, none seem to install. How do I really find out if the ones I have are the latest available for my system? Everything seems to work OK as is. Could it be that my Mac is PPC and that there are plug-in updates that would work in 10.4 on Intel but not on PPC, and that FireFox cannot differentiate?

Setting the Boolean pref <b>plugins.hide_infobar_for_outdated_plugin</b> to <i>true</i> on the <b>about:config</b> page should hide that info bar.
To open the <i>about:config</i> page, type <b>about:config</b> in the location (address) bar and press the "<i>Enter</i>" key, just like you type the url of a website to open a website.<br />
If you see a warning then you can confirm that you want to access the about:config page.<br />
*Use the Filter bar at the top of the about:config page to locate a preference more easily.
*Preferences that have been modified show as bold (user set).
*Preferences can be reset to the default via the right-click context menu if they are user set
*Preferences can be changed via the right-click context menu: Modify (String or Integer) or Toggle (Boolean) or by double-clicking the line with the pref
*Preferences can be created via the right-click context menu: New -> String, Integer, Boolean
Firefox 4 and later require at least OS X 10.5 and a Mac with an Intel processor.

My banking website ask me to install latest IE . but IE8/9 does not work with mac

You should contact your bank to see what browsers they support and until then ignore the message. The chances are very good they suppport Safari and Firefox, both are great browers.

  • Has anyone been able to contact Adobe to learn why their Flash Player does not work on Mac OS 10.6.8, no matter how many updates you install?  This seems like a big error by Adobe.

I have thee Mac computers with Mac OS 10.6.8, one of which is a Mac Pro.  No matter how many updates I install from Adobe, their Flash Player does not work on any of these 3 computers.  I don't know how to contact Adobe Systems about this problem, but I think it is their responsibility to make sure that their so-called "universal" software works proplerly on a relatively recent operating system like OS 10.6.8 that is still in widespread use.  When you install the updates, nothing happens -- not even an error message.  What is the point of a universal player that is not universal?  It works fine on my MacBook Pro with OS 9 Mavericks, but it does not work at all -- indeed, has never worked -- on my 3 Macs with OS 10.6.8.  Has anyone contacted Adobe Systems to find out why the Flash Player does not work with OS 10.6.8 and what they plan to do about it?

Where are you getting Flash from?
Get the appropriate dmg installer here and then run it.
    http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/distribution3.html
If it still won't install, do these two things: First uninstall any Flash by going into the second level Hard Drive Library>Internet Plug-ins, and trash the Flash Player.plugin and flashplayer.xpt. Then boot into Safe Boot, Shift at the startup chime (give it much longer than a usual boot) and run the installer while booted in Safe Boot.

  • HP Laserjet P1005 does not work under Mac OS X 10.6

Driver is not listed and downloading the driver from HP still does not work. Guess HP has not yet updated for Snow Leopard. Anyone have a work around for now?
I use this little black and white laserjet for all of my documents. Also have a few color Epsons but I do not want to use those for quick and dirty documents.
Any help would be much appreciated.

The temporary solution (works good) is to download old drivers for HP P1000-1500 series (v.1.04) at following link:

  • Firefox 32 back navigation does not work

    Hi:
The followings happen to firefox 31 beta 9; firefox 32 beta 8 .
If I want to save pictures or whatever , I open a new window and pull whatever images I want to save to the new window so that I can perform the saves consecutively, say I have pulled 20 images to the new window and starting saving images from the last page of this new window, so the next image to be saves will the second last page and so on and I should be able to go backwards 19 times back to the first image; but upto about 4 backward navigations , the browser stops working as in only "connecting...." appears in the title bar and the browser does not go backwards.
Also, the browser stops saving images (even for those on pages to which I was able to go backwards) , it always displays "unknown download time" in the download window (the traffic says 0 bytes/s, etc) and the image is never saved.
This problem is not site specific. Just using Flash player 10 plugin; Adobe PDF plug-in.
I am using Firefox 30 beta 9 now. No such problems.
    What is causing these problems?
Also, why is necessary to reboot computer after install? What are these versions doing to the registry, etc??
    Regards

  • FireFox 8.0.1 does not work with most sites that functioned with no problems under earlier versions. I wish to uninstall and go back to an earlier version.

The more I attempt to use FireFox 8.0.1 the more problems I have. I find considerable interference with the functioning of RoboForm, my bookmarks keep disappearing, many sites that worked fine earlier and work fine with the Opera browser do not work under version 8. Where can I download an earlier version of FireFox

You can [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Uninstalling%20Firefox?s=uninstall+firefox&r=0&as=s uninstall] Firefox 8 first before you downgrade to Firefox 7. However, when you uninstall, make sure that you '''don't''' choose the option "'''Remove my Firefox Personal Data'''".
You can access a list of [ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/ Previous Versions of Firefox], however, note that Firefox recommends using the latest version since older version may have security and safety vulnerabilities.
'''P.S:''' it may be a good idea to create a Restore Point before you uninstall, in case you mess up, in which case you can just restore and start over.

  • HP Envy 5530 e-all-in-one Does Not Work With Mac

Just bought an HP Envy 5530 all-in-one. It does not print through Safari and possibly other Mac applications. Does not frame the page properly even with "print page" and prints slower  than 1 page per minute, even with no background images. My old HP had no problem with Safari. Phone support tells me there is no driver or fix. So I will return the device. Seems crazy. I now see othr commenters saying it doesn't work with Mac. If HP's no longer works with major Mac applications, they will be returned in droves. Anyone know why or know of a fix?

I am having the same issue. Did you ever find a solution?

  • Control key (^) combined shortcuts does not work on mac book pro

All shortcut combinations with the control key (^) do not work. I´m using Mac Book Pro 13 (late 2013) with Os X Mavericks 10.9.4

The Logic Board is the Main system board. In the Windows world better known as the Motherboard. Except with Apple Mac computers the CPU and the GPU are Soldered to the logic board and if it is a Retina screen model the RAM is also Soldered to it.
So replacing the Logic board is like replacing the compete system and costs accordingly.
But there isn't much else you can do if you can't get that switch unstuck. Or just go without sound from the built in speakers. They aren't that good anyway.

  • OfficeJet Pro 8600 Plus Wireless DOES NOT WORK with Mac Mavericks Based Network

Replaced my Brother system with the HP OfficeJet Pro 8600 Plus yesterday.  There are many positive features of the 8600 Plus that prompted me to purchase it...
    Modular Design
    Large legal sized Scanner
    Standard/Legal Paper Printer
    Copy
    E Print Capability
High Yield / Affordable Toner Replacements
Unfortunately, I discovered the Wireless network capability is less than desirable.  After hours of installing, reinstalling, work arounds, internet solution searches, it just will not work.  If you are able to get the printer to work on your network (with router), the scanner will not be visible, vice versa, etc...etc...etc...
HOWEVER, I did discover this solution.  If the unit is near your base computer, install it to your computer with a usb connection.  That allows you to have scanning and printing from that unit.  Then you can connect the unit through its ethernet connection to your router.  From there all computers can print within your network.  It's not the best way to connect a WIRELESS printer, but at least it works.
I'm not certain why HP and Apple can't find a solution, but I never found anything on the net that worked.  The problem seems to stem from the new Mavericks update from Apple, but I'm really not sure.  I wasted an entire day of productivity attempting to make it work.  I'm posting this so you don't make the same mistake.  If you happen to know a verified solution, then I would welcome the information.  Best of luck!!!

It may be a mac driver issue. Try installing the bootcamp update for your version of vista from here:
    http://www.apple.com/support/bootcamp/
I'm not sure if this is supposed to work since I've never tried mac hardware at 5ghz on windows before...
