Firefox 2.0.0.2, Flash install incompatibility on Vista

There's a lot of things that go wrong.
They are better summarized here:
http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?t=526974
(where I put it into the Firefox forums, but I thought it might be
more proper here).

Hi, You might want to review the Troubleshooting Guide as it has been updated and a lot of new information is now included. If you prefer you can use the Manual Installer for IE which you'll see there. A lot of the questions that I would ask are listed also.

  • Firefox is not allowing me to install the latest version of Flash Player, or older versions that would allow me to open youtube etc. any suggestions?

Hi there, Firefox not accepting latest version of Flash Player, or older versions that would allow me to open youtube and is continuouing to block it. any suggestions?

'''''"... Firefox not accepting latest version of Flash Player ..."'''''
Firefox shouldn't keep you from installing Flash; Firefox needs to be closed before attempting to install Flash - Adobe rules for installing Flash.
Also, it seems that you have a real old version of Flash installed.
    '''Shockwave Flash 9.0 r45'''
Two versions of Flash Plugins installed may confuse Firefox as to which version to use.
You should download and run the Adobe Flash uninstaller program before attempting to install Flash.

  • Flash installed and up to date however flash does not run on any web browser

I was catching up on watching a televsion show and watching it with no issues/no problems with flash before. I went to the website below  and all of a sudden flash is not working. I did not change any settings, run any updates. I checked various browsers, flash content is not working on any of them. I can view youtube videos however just about any other site I've tried, nothing and many websites will not display correctly. I tried some of the troubleshooting suggestions in the forum however some of them I'm unable to do such as alter the flash settings, it takes me to the page but tells me I don't have Flash installed. I've tried switching user accounts on my pc as others have said flash works for them on the other account however mine is still broken. I've actually tried a system restore, still no luck.
    Windows 8 (64 bit)
    Flash Version 11.9.900.152
Tried web browsers IE, Firefox, Chrome - I've verified it is enabled
    Active X is disabled
I've ran the 'test' to verify Flash is installed and it displays the video
I ran the debugger however I do not know how to interpret the data.

  • Adobe Flash Install Problem

After numerous Flash crashes I tried to uninstall/reinstall newest Flash Player with Mozilla Firefox ~ unsuccessfully. Next I tried to complete a "clean install" of the newest Adobe Flash Player using Internet Explorer on my Windows XP. Uninstall & delete files seems to have worked but, I save the install download to my desktop, choose run program and the run program dialogue box disappears then the install program icon disappears from my desktop and there seems to be no evidence of any Flash Player download at all anywhere in my system that I can find. Despite redoing these steps, the results remain the same. What is happening and what can I do to be able to successfully download Flash Player again? Add ons + security features are not set to prevent this as far as I can tell. I had the latest version with occasional crash problems prior to this attempt to correct that, but now I have nothing. Help!

If you are trying to install Flash Player on Mozilla Firefox, you need to download Flash Player using Firefox. I think you downloaded Flash Player using Internet Explorer. I am not clear on why the downloaded Flash Player file disppears from your machine.
Could you please download Flash Player from the following link:  http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/installation-problems-flash-player-windows.html#mai n-pars_header
    (the second link)
Close all browsers and double-click the file you downloaded.
    Thanks,
    Sunil

  • Firefox 17, & 18 crash with Flash 10 or 11 with WIn8

I have a brand new computer (Samsung) - and I installed Firefox 17. and the newest flash - It worked fine for a few days.. Then randomly flash would crash and firefox and take it out basically.. I would need to uninstall flash, and Firefox. I have tried versions 17, 18 and auroa(sp?) betas.. with flash 10 and 11 versions.
Only thing not factory on the PC is iTunes, Firefox and Kaspersky AntiVirus.
I have tried to uncheck the hardware acceleration, in FF and flash..

I'm having this same problem on an up to date Windows 7 machine. It is not just a Win8 issue. Adobe Flash and Firefox have been fighting with each other and causing browser lockups ever since I switched to Firefox 17.0. I managed to get things sorted out but then when upgrading to Firefox 17.0.1 it came back with a vengeance.
IE works just fine. Downgrading to previous major rev of flash didn't fix it with 17.0.1. Then downgraded to latest Firefox 16 and things work just fine. Don't have realplayer installed. My graphics card doesn't support turning off DirectX HW accel. Otherwise have been through all the steps...

  • Firefox doesn't detect adobe flash

I have a Dell Inspiron 3521 with Linux Mint 15 (Olivia x36-64). My Firefox is 26.0. The about page says it's Mozilla Firefox for Linux Mint - 1.0.
I have the latest version of Adobe Flash installed, but my Firefox is not recognizing it. It isn't showing up in the plugin list, so I can't even activate it.
So it's partially functioning, because I went to the Adobe website test page and it indicated that I have it and it works. But things Facebook doesn't work. Can't play games or reach it by external link on my email.
This began when I reset my Firefox the other day.
How do I get this thing functioning again?

[[Troubleshoot issues with plugins like Flash or Java to fix common Firefox problems]]
    Hello,
Some problems with Flash video playback can be resolved by disabling hardware acceleration in your Flash Player settings. (See [[Flash Plugin - Keep it up to date and troubleshoot problems|this article]] for more information on using the Flash plugin in Firefox).
To disable hardware acceleration in Flash Player:
#Go to this [http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/video-playback-issues.html#main_Solve_video_playback_issues Adobe Flash Player Help page].
#Right-click on the Flash Player logo on that page.
#Click on '''Settings''' in the context menu. The Adobe Flash Player Settings screen will open.
    # Click on the icon at the bottom-left of the Adobe Flash Player Settings window to open the Display panel. <br/> <br/>[[Image:fpSettings1.PNG]] <br/>
    # Remove the check mark from '''Enable hardware acceleration'''.
    # Click '''Close''' to close the Adobe Flash Player Settings Window.
    # Restart Firefox.
This [http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/help01.html Flash Player Help - Display Settings page] has more information on Flash Player hardware acceleration, if you're interested.
Does this solve the problem? Let us know.

  • Firefox Lags Like Hell with Flash

    Ok, here's the deal.
After long use Firefox starts to lag like crazy with Flash. And... It doesn't seem to be a problem with Flash. It's more likely that the browser itself what is causing the issue.
After I use Firefox for some time Flash starts lagging badly. BUT! This happens only if I have my Firefox window active. If I open the Task Manager on top of Firefox window, Flash stops lagging as if Harry Porter himself cast a spell with his magic stick making everything work like a charm.
I made a small video showcasing the bug: https://www.dropbox.com/s/l2c5pbn1xwy58dc/12-11-2012%2019-07-15.avi
    - The bug still appears even in Safe Mode (all addons disabled).
    - With hardware acceleration disabled in Flash bug still remains.
    - With Chrome and other browsers everything works fine.
    - The bug will go away after restart - and then will start to appear after Firefox is in use for some time.
    - Normally it re-appears after I close my laptop's lid forcing it to go to sleep mode. After it wakes up - the bug is there.
    - There was no such a bug in the past - it started to appear as new Firefox versions were released - don't know the exact version but I assume it all started from version 14 or 15.
    Any thoughts?

Did you try to disable protected mode in the Flash plugin?
Also make sure that you allow the plugin-container process in the firewall.
You can check for problems caused by recent Flash updates and try these:
*disable a possible RealPlayer Browser Record Plugin extension for Firefox and update the RealPlayer if installed
*disable protected mode in Flash 11.3 and later
*disable hardware acceleration in the Flash plugin
*downgrade the Flash player to version 10.3 or 11.2

  • Flash Install Error in Opera-9

When I try to install latest Flash for Opera-9, I get an
error message saying Firefox is using one of the files and must be
closed. I have not opened Firefox in weeks. In Windows Task Manager
Firefox does not show as a running application or as any of the
myriad of processes running... so Firefox is not running but the
Flash install for Opera9 is faulty. How do I work around this?
    Thanks, in advance, [email protected]

Solved: the typo is in the documentation.
There is a space before the jdbcutility word:
java  -classpath  newscale_adu.jar;newscale_ddlrunner.jar;newscale_drivers.jar;newscale_security.jar;castor-0.9.5.4.jar;xercesImpl.jar;xml-apis.jar;commons-logging-1.0.4.jar;newscale_core.jar; com.newscale.deployer.util.JDBCUtility  SqlServer myserver:1433;DatabaseName=RequestCenter DbNameUnused RCUser  mypass C:\sources\rex\deploy\rex.xml
It would be great if the doc is more precise, knowing that most of the install is performed by hand.
    Best regards,
    David

When I connect to the site of my bank (http://www.dexia-bil.lu/webquotes/index1.asp?h=1&lang=en&menu=onl&href=htm/acces_client_lu.asp?lang=en) and click on it shows the page (https://secure.dexia-bil.lu/ssl/logon.asp?lang=en) instead of

  • Firefox 21 not playing adobe flash 11,7,700,202 videos

Anytime that I try to play a video in Firefox 21 (I have recommended Adobe 11,7,700,202 installed), it just stays on the load 'circle' and never plays. When I copy the video url into IE 10, it plays right away.

Just did new install of Firefox 21 with blank profile and installed install_flashplayer11x32_mssd_aaa_aih.exe (Windows 7 32 bit) as only.
Firefox stalls and dies when I try to run anything Flash, even Gmail.
So it's nothing to do with incompatible add-ons.
I look in Task Manager to see if anything else is running that might be interfering, but nothing other than the usual list of system files and services.
Have added ProtectedMode=0 to the Flash ccfg file. Now something called PluginFirefoxUI pops up rather than the second PliuginContainer in the Task Manager.
My antivirus is AVG (up to date).
Only going back to Flash 10 fixes this for the moment.
This is serious. FF is my favourite browser, but until this is fixed I shall either have to run the risk of Flash 10 or use Chrome (groan) or perhaps Opera (better).
PS: After a reboot and resinstall of 11.7 this now seems to work, even with other addons enabled. So ProtectedMode was the culprit.

  • Firefox will not load any flash video, on any website.

Hello, just recently firefox decided to stop loading flash video.
    Eg. Youtube, metacafe, etc.
I tired uninstalling flash and reinstalling it, uninstalling firefox and reinstalling it, ive also tried scanning for viruses, and nothing has worked. Sometimes it will load the advertisement for youtube videos but thats it, after that it just stays black and the controls for the player still work as normal, but there is no video or audio.
I've tried to install a different browser to see if that would make a difference and it did, i can view flash videos on chrome but the moment i go back to firefox, videos dont work anymore.

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
*Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

  • Default flash install on flash on adobe flex builder 3?

When I used to go to a flash page and did not have flash
installed, the installl rocked!!!! immediately prompting you to
install....no download/save as or anything, just a simple click the
install button. I remember firefox and IE both were really good.
Now, I used flex builder 3 and the default html file and alll it
does is redirect to a flash adobe site. This is one of the best
ways to LOSE customers and I would like to fix this. In our
customer testing, we noticed some would just skip the site and not
continue to look with the following pattern. In our previous
studies, clicking one install button was not a big deal....but the
redirection to the page(at least in china) is a big barrier to get
people using flash. Also, the only data we found was 80% of users
on flash 9(I don't know how accurate that data is) so this feature
is very important to us(otherwise we would not consider switching
    to GWT technology).
    thanks for any help,
