Firefox 23.0.1 does not install Windows 7 64bit

Have windows 7 64-bit with Firefox 23.0 installed. Firefox has tried to update automatically to 23.0.1 and I have tried a download of the full 23.0.1 and all I get is a failed to update message.

Download and save the Firefox installer to the desktop and start the installation with a double-click on the desktop icon.
You can find the full version of the latest Firefox 23.0 release in all languages and for all Operating Systems here:

You may need to disable your anti-virus temporarily (or at least the real-time scanning) if you keep having problems.

  • Firefox 4.0.1 does not install properly. It keeps asking to reboot to finish. i can't uninstall it via Control Panel.

I had Mozilla Firefox 4.0 on Windows 7. I saved the bookmarks and uninstalled it. Downloaded 4.01 and did the typical standadrd install. It asked for a reboot to finish as expected. I rebotted and it did not finish installation. Then I tried to unistall it using control panel. So that removed it (or so it seemed). So i went to reinstall. Mozilla says reboot to finish install immediately. That of course does not work, can't uninstall as control panel does not see itand cant install. Anyone know how to completey get rid of this thing. No I cant delete it from the C:\Program files <x86> directory either. It's a hung mess.

You gone about it the wrong way I'm afraid. For future reference; to update version 4.0 to 4.0.1 and for future editions, go to '''Help '''| '''About Firefox''' and then click the '''Check For Updates''' button.
I think what you'll have to do now is follow instructions in this article to uninstall it: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Uninstalling_firefox
Once you've achieved that goal, go to [http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/fx/?ref=logo Download Firefox 4.0.1] and download a fresh installation file to the desktop using either IE8 or 9. Save the file to your desktop when you see the prompt and then reinstall it from there.

  • Firefox 35.0.1 does not install, despite repeated attempts in OS X Yosemite.

Running Yosemite 10.10.2 on a Macbook Air, have downloaded and installed Firefox 35.0.1 several times. Software says installation was successful each time, but it does not seem to register, and I keep getting prompts to install it.

If there are problems with updating or with the permissions then best is to download the full version and trash the currently installed version to do a clean install of the new version.
Download a new copy of the Firefox application and save the disk image file to the desktop
    *Firefox 35.0.1: https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all/
*Trash the current Firefox application (open the Applications folder in the Finder and drag the Firefox application to the Trash) to do a clean (re)install
*Install the new version that you have downloaded
    *https://support.mozilla.org/kb/Installing+Firefox+on+Mac
Your personal data is stored elsewhere in the Firefox profile folder, so you won't lose your bookmarks and other personal data when you uninstall and (re)install or update Firefox.

  • Boot camp does not install windows 7 -

I have created a partition with bootcamp - on my 250GB SSD - and put the slider to 41 Gb; I have the USB with the drivers inserted and the windows 7 disk (dvd?) inserted. When the retort happens, the windows installer starts (from dvd).
First of all I see the partition is 98 Gb - way too much, leaves almost no room for the soft are disk.
Then the installation does not commence, the partition is MS-DOS (FAT) (I checked with disk utility) while the partition should be NTFS (as windows expects). I does not allow me to select this partition.
    What should I do?
I have had a working partition before on my HD, now - after I upgraded my iMAC - I wanted to install bootcamp/windows on my SSD.
-> I know that I can delete the partition using Boot Camp Assistant. Then I am clean all over again. I hope.

When creating a partition, Bootcamp assistant wants to also to install windows. That does not work because the error is there that it expects an NTFS file - and I am not going to reformat the partition using windows :-(
Yes. Terribly sorry about that. I forgot that Boot Camp automatically goes into a setup sequence and boots to the Windows installation DVD. I never use Boot Camp when I want to create a Windows partition since I can do the same thing manually the way I want the drive to be.
NTFS isn't a file, it's a format. Like FAT32 or Mac OS Extended (HFS+). Boot Camp will always create a FAT32 partition (called an MS-DOS partition in Disk Utility). Once it boots to the Windows DVD on the restart, your first step is to format the drive you just created in Boot Camp as NTFS. Then continue on with the install.
What I should have written above as step two was to manually create a new partition with Disk Utility and format it as MS-DOS. Then you could have made it any size you wanted and gone right into restoring your Windows 7 backup with WinClone. Again, while not making the least bit of difference the partition was FAT32 rather than NTFS. Restoring your Win 7 backup would have made it NTFS when done.
Since most folks aren't all that handy doing things manually, or just plain don't know how, Apple tries to simplify the process with Boot Camp. But the only part of it you really need is to create the drivers flash drive or disk. After that you can do the whole thing yourself, which is what I do.
Anyway, once you did create the new partition with Boot Camp, you could have stopped the entire process and booted back into OS X. Then restored the WinClone backup to the FAT32 partition. That would saved you the time watching Windows 7 install when you're just going to completely replace that install anyway.

  • ITunes 7.0.1 does not install--Windows Installer Package Problem

I am trying to upgrade from iTunes 6 to the newest version. I downloaded setup and ran it, and it got a bit through installing iTunes before it said, "There is a problem with the Windows Installer Package. A program required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support personnel or package vendor."
I have never had problems installing other programs using Windows Installer. I also never had problems upgrading iTunes until now. There is no info on this specific issue anywhere in the Apple website or on the internet, that I have found. Any ideas?

okay, let's try getting an itunes 7 installer log to the Apple engineers for a look.
    1. Open a command prompt window. (Start menu -> Run. Type in "cmd". Hit return.)
    2. Drag and drop iTunesSetup.exe onto the window so that the full pathname of the file is at the command line prompt.
    3. Type in a space, then the following line:
    /l*v C:\log.txt
    4. Hit return.
    5. The installer will create a log file:
    C:\log.txt
Find that file and send it as an attachment to this email address.
in the email to Roy, be sure to include the following information:
    - A link to the thread on Apple Discussions where the issue is being discussed
    - The username you are using in the thread
    - The version of iTunes you are using or trying to use
    - the version of Windows you are using (mention service packs)
    - A concise description of the issue you are seeing
    - The exact text of the error message you are seeing

  • Firefox 4 downloads, but does not install

I have downloaded Firefox 4 three times, and it says successfully downloaded. I do not see how to "Install" it after it downloads, and in fact, I keep getting prodded to upgrade to Firefox 4. Today I got a message that my old version is no longer protected. I would like to continue using Firefox but need the upgrade. Please advise.

Download the official version of Firefox 4.0.1 here: <br />

Then un-install that Yahoo branded version and install the official version.

You probably have not seen anyone reporting the exact same problem as you. All three crash reports have the same crash signature and as currently ranked 67 it is not the commonest of reasons for a crash.
I hope you enter your email contact information when reporting crashes. I note you see this crash when using videos, others may possibly see this crash in other circumstances.
You have already tried the obvious, attempts at a fix so it is now down to wait and see, maybe developers working on the bug will report something or fix it.
Did you try my suggestion of installing portable ESR ?

  • Can I get an older release of Firefox? 36.0 does not play well with Windows 7.

Firefox 36.0.4 does not play well with Windows 7. If it opens at all, it freezes within a minute so the screen goes pale and I get the classic spinning circle of death. Then the header says (not responding).
Ideally I would like to drop back to version 32 or 33, but 34 and 35 had fewer problems.
Can I find older versions anywhere?

You can [[Install an older version of Firefox]] any time. But which will cause significant security risk. So If you can't use the latest version of Firefox, we recommend that you use the latest version of another browser.
If the latest version of Firefox is causing problems for you or you just don't like something about it, please give us feedback about it here:

  • Firefox does not install in the APPs folder

I have received new MacBookPro days ago. As I start installing additional softwares including firefox (2.0.0.4 and 2.0.0.5) that I downloaded as a dmg file, I fond that firefox does not install in the Applications folder. When I click dmg file, it expands and attach to the /Volumes with icons on the desktop.
It is annoying as it is not easy to find out where the program is. Is there anything I did wrong?
On my old MacBook it installed in the Applications folder and I was put it in the dock..
    Any help will be appreciated.

You should have a window entitled Firefox on the desktop as well as the drive icon. If the window is not showing double click on the drive icon and it will appear.
In the window on the left is the colorful Firefox icon with Firefox.app written underneath - click on and drag into your Application folder. Thats it.
Clear the drive icon as normal

The current iTunes 10.5 upgrade does not install on Windows 7 and indicates a faulty install package (error 2324). Advice or details on the release date for a proper fix? I'm not able to roll back to the prior version, so I'm stuck in limbo.

There have been a number of problems with installing the latest iTunes on Windows 7 64-bit machines during the last couple of weeks.  You might want to do a search on that topic and see if anyone has a solution.  There have been various versions of the problem but a lot related to errors in the download package or failure to download.

  • Acrobat X Pro does not install PDF toolbar in Firefox, but does in IE.  How to fix?

Also, I see that Acrobat X Pro does not install all plugins.  There are several that I want shown as not installed.  But how can I get these installed, as there is no button to say "install this"??

Got a partial fix - In Firefox, the Adobe PDF Toolbar gets installed in "Disabled" mode.  To enable, go to "Tools->Add-ons->Extensions", select "Adobe Acrobat - Create PDF" and enable it.
Now, as for the rest of the Acrobat plugins, I'm still trying to find a way to enable them.  Any ideas?

My Firefox version is 13.0.1, I use Windows Seven 64-bit, when I click on Firefox, but the program does not run! But Firefox is seen in the list of Windows processes, while Firefox does not run.
I manually deleted Firefox from the list once I have Windows processing.
And when I clicked on Firefox, Firefox will open quickly and easily.
Firefox process in Windows Processes names list called "firefox.exe * 32" is.
Please try to solve my problem, my problem is how to solve?

Hi, are you saying that you start Firefox and it stalls -- you can see it in the Task Manager but it never displays -- but if you kill that process and start Firefox again it starts up properly that second time?
If you look at the statistics available in the Task Manager's processes tab such as bytes read or other bytes, can you see whether Firefox is doing anything at all? ''Note: You might need to add columns if your Processes tab isn't set up to display statistics. You can do that from the View menu.''
You might already have seen these troubleshooting articles. If not, does anything here help:
