Firefox 23 won't allow CA Service desk to work.

When using CA service desk manager, it all works --- UNTIL you actually double click a call or try to edit one.
It used to work in older versions of CA servicedesk and firefox.
Popup blocking has been turned off and no addons installed. Stock standard 23 install.
I noticed it doesnt work on the newer versions of chrome and Opera either.
However Opera 11, IE8 etc work like a charm.
Using private window , gets you one step further, but you cannot work.
Using CA service desk manager takes up a big part of our day, and speding it minimizing and maximizing IE10 with every screen for it to work does not work for me. I'd rather use FF.
If anyone has any suggestions, I'd welcome it. :)

CA has been issuing patches as needed to accommodate browser changes. For example: [https://communities.ca.com/web/ca-service-management-global-user-community/message-board/-/message_boards/view_message/101516142;jsessionid=FFAF0A217612866C8CCA0DA569E8E29D.usilap725?&#p_19 RE: Firefox v22 upgrade] regarding menus not appearing on SDM 12.6. Later in the thread, someone reported a problem with both Firefox 22 and 23 in SDL 12.7 ([https://communities.ca.com/web/ca-service-management-global-user-community/message-board/-/message_boards/view_message/101298252?&#_19_message_101564342 here]) but I didn't study it in detail.
Assuming that not many volunteers here use this software, do you want to try posting it on that CA forum? This unofficial-looking user support site might also be useful: http://www.servicedeskusers.com/

  • Firefox 7 won't allow me to switch windows; if it's up, it's on top, so if I ask it to open a site in a new window (instead of a tab) I can't get to the window without minimizing the first window. This makes it impossible to work.

I upgraded Firefox to 7 on my Win7 Pro 64 bit desktop yesterday. Today when I try to open a site in a new window, the window opens but I can't switch to it unless I actually minimize the first Firefox instance. Clicking on the second window just shows the first window again.
Worse, it insists on being on top of other programs. I needed to check my Norton Firewall settings against some instructions on a web site, and I couldn't switch back and forth - I could ONLY have Firefox on top. Until you fix this I'm going back to Chrome, guys. I have looked through the Options menus and I can't find an "always on top" box to uncheck.

    Dear mkunz,
I can understand your frustration. I have elected for the option to pick up an item from a UPS location when missed upon delivery before; it is definitely a convenient option when working around a work schedule. I apologize that this option wasn’t available to you for your phone purchase.
We do understand that people have to work and this is why we allow three opportunities for you to receive the product. I see that AWBrown has submitted an idea to ideaX page asking us to look into reevaluating this process. Using your email address you have supplied here on the forums, I was able to look up your order. Based on the tracking information, it appears that you successfully received the phone on 06/03/2014.
If this is not the case, please let me know!

  • The paste feature in Safari tells me Mozilla Firefox settings won't allow it even after I deleted the application. How can I fix this?

I have been using Safari on my iMac although I had Firefox installed. I tried using a paste function and the error message said that Mozilla Firefox is prohibiting this. I tried to follow the guide to fix that in Firefox and couldn't even find the application folder it talked about. So I tried to uninstall the application, following the instructions given (move it to the trash). I restarted Safari but got exactly the same results.
How can I get rid of the impact Firefox has had on Safari?

  • Firefox 4 won't allow My MSN to open Win Live Calendar, Hotmail or provide stock quotes on the default page.

My home page is My MSN. All prev. versions of Firefox opened the Calendar, Hotmail in preview fashion. Click either would take me to their main page. Stock quotes were also displayed, refreshing whenever the page was reloaded. Now, all I see are the banners for Calendar, Hotmail. Stock quotes show only info as to who provides the data. Click on any of the three takes me to the proper page. I've deleated Firefox4, then downloaded twice with no change.
    HELP!

Since I could not find a solution, I uninstalled Firefox 4 and installed Internet Explorer 8. Now My MSN works fine.
I also installed then uninstalled Google Chrome. It may be a Microsoft thing that prevents other web browsers from working with My MSN. I am not a fan of MSNBC and may go to another homepage, but after 13 years it's difficult to change.

  • Firefox Hello won't allow me to select which video and audio devices to use when I start a conversation instance.

As per the title. If I ACCEPT a call, or start a conversation I have no choice about which devices are used (video and audio), Firefox seems to just arbitraily decide which to use without asking me. If I make a call or join a conversation it's different, I get a dialog asking me which devices I want to use. Similarly, there's no options to edit the conversation settings to select the device.
I tried just entering the conversation URL into a browser tab, which does give me the dialog, but I cannot join the conversation as it says there are already two people in it.
    How to fix this?
    Cheers

Update: This just seems to be an oversight. Devs, You have to realize that conversation starters and call answerers still need the ability to select their devices. I know WebRTC and Hello is all still beta, but this seems to be something that should have been realized from the very start.
Are you also aware that the code examples on MDC don't actually work in Firefox, but do work in Chrome? Again, I know you say the API docs are in need of update, but for example source to actually nor work on the browser you develop and it working on a browser you do not seems a trifle ridiculous. If you want this technology to catch on, you've got to be more diligent.

  • Error creating Service Desk Message in Satellite System

    Hi all
We have two satellite system from which I want to create a Support Message. With my current profile/role and can do it from one system and not from the other system. I get "Error in local message system, message xxx not complete". I dont think it is an Authotization fault, but not sure.
How should the Number ranges be setup for more than one satellite system?
    Thanx

    Hi Tina
This was my answer in a previuos thread:
    Hi all
I also struggled with this for 2 weeks. But the problem is fixed.
Do your "normal: config from the IMG and then:
    1) Make sure that you have selected for the system NOT to check for the User in SolMan
tr: DNO_CUST04, Go to Detail, Select the field NO_USER_CHECK, "X", this is very important, otherwise you will have to create a username for everyone on the satellite system... far too timeconsuming.
    2) In your satellite system under OSS_MSG: Col1:Application: OSS_MSG, Col2: + : W. Col3: RFC Destination: SM_"SOLMANRFC"_BACK. Col4: + : CUST620. COl5: + : 1.0
In the Solman side you maintain Col3 as "NONE".
    3) Make sure that ALL users in the satellite system has the following roles: SAP_SUPPDESK_CREATE and SAP_SV_FDB_NOTIF_BC_ADMIN.
    4) Make sure that you have TRUSTED RFC to and from your Satellite system and Solution Manager.
The main one to be sure of is: SAP_ALL for all SOLMANxxx user in the Solution Manager system for every satelite system, because the standard roles from SAP does not work.
This should have your Service Desk Messaging working.

firefox keeps remembering a website and won't allow me to log out and will not return to login page. been to cookies, saved password options, says no password is saved but it is. nothing helps

It might be that you are logged in with HTTP authentication (either basic or digest). This authentication is arranged by the browser, so you would have seen a pop-up dialog asking for a user name and password while logging in. It seems that these are cached by the browser and it requires you to restart the browser to log out...
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Basic_access_authentication
    http://www.tolaris.com/2009/09/08/logging-out-of-http-auth-with-firefox/
Because I found that having to restart the browser quite annoying I stumbled on this question and also on the HTTP Logout add-on that allows you to log out without restarting your browser. Not many sites use HTTP Authentication, but you might give it a try.

  • My computer will not let me download firefox, a screen comes up and says my security settings won't allow it.

This is a lap top. Yesterday nor today we could not display firefox and that is how I would normally logon to the computer. Firefox kept coming up and saying it could not display page. Today I uninstalled firfox and tryed to re-install, now a box comes up and says my security settings won't allow it.

Make sure that you do not run the file directly, but save the file to the Desktop and start the installation via a double-click.<br />
You may need to unlock the file via the right-click context menu: Properties > Security

You generally need Perian for FLV and AVI files, and the free version of Flip4Mac for WMA or WMV files. Some files simply can't be opened on the Mac.

  • My proxy server software won't allow Firefox to run. Why?

I have VPN4ALL proxy software for connecting to the internet. I use Google Chrome as a browser. I have an HP laptop computer. I have downloaded the Foxfire software. When I try to run the Foxfire browser, a window pops up and says that my proxy system won't allow it to run.
The VPN4ALL tech people said to start Firefox and go to Tools>Options>Network Tab>Settings>Auto Detect Proxy>OK> OK and try again.
I didn't find this string on Firefox's drop down window. Now what?

Have you tried uploading by drag and drop to Finder/Go/iDisk/My iDisk/Web/Sites?
You will lose features like hit counter, blog and photo comments etc by doing this.

  • Service Desk 6.2 Installation/Update won't work

    Hi there,
we have ServiceDesk 6.1 installed on SLES 11 SP1 and try to update to 6.2.
As described in the manual I uninstalled the appicacation using the uninstaller and installed the new one with the java installer. No errors so far... only the message "your Service Desk URL is..." is empty.
After the installation went through I have no website on the defined port that answers my requests. Netstat tells me that there is no application listening in the defined port.
Even if I manually start the startup.sh shell script nothing is listening after that on the port.
If I remve Service desk 6.2 and install Service Desk 6.1 instead, I get the same message with the empty URL hint at the end of the installation, but the website works and listens on the defined port. I can then again configure the access to the db server.
So my question is what am I doing wrong?
Perhaps anyone here has a hint for me? Would be great as I am at the moment a little bit frustrated. :-(
    Thanx, Andy

Sorry, i didn't experience the problems you see. I started with 6.1 and followed the update procedure for 6.2. For the installation/setup part i had no problems at all.
Usability is something completely different, though...
