Firefox 27.0.1 w/Mac OS 10.9.2 only prints left half of webpage (no matter what page).

I used to be able to print just fine. Computer did some updates yesterday and now I am having trouble printing. Only left part of page prints.
-I have checked settings
-I have reset the print_ in about:config
-I have changed the default font
-Margins are normal

Note that it is usually easier to edit the prefs.js file in the Firefox program folder that stores all modified prefs that do not have the default value.

I made a big mistake to change the setting of my Mac book pro to "me only". Now ofcourse It cannot open the login page, for how would the mac know it is me? How can I change the setting back to "everyone"? I have back up in the past but the last month I have not. I really want to keep the data.
So how can I go in and change the setting, It stays ofcourse at the apple screen with wheel. All info is there and the computer works fine, just cannot use it or have been able to log in.

wjosten is spot on.  If you really want iCloud, then you will need to acquire a new or second hand MBP that can run Lion.
    Ciao.

  • FF18.0 Mac OS. right click (control click) on left half of an additional display brings the menu up in small font on the laptop

Upgraded to FF18.0 from the prior version (Mac OS 10.8.2) and it works great on my MacBook Pro Retina display. However, if either a 27" Thunderbolt Display or 27" LED Cinema Display is also plugged in and the browser is on the separate display there is a problem:
Right or control clicking the browser window anywhere on the left half of the separate display brings the pop up menu on the laptop in very small font (presumably at the higher resolution of the separate monitor). The problem also occurs with links on web pages that have preview pop ups when you hold the cursor over the link.
These were not issues in the FF17.x version I was previously using.

  • Just downloaded Firefox - and IT WOT WORK. It wont even open up it's own support pages, I just get "secure conection failed" msgs no matter what page-USELESS!

I've just downloaded and istalled Firefox. IT WILL NOT WORK. No matter what site I try open up (included Firefox's OWN support site) I get the following:
    Secure Connection Failed
An error occurred during a connection to support.mozilla.org. Cannot communicate securely with peer: no common encryption algorithm(s). (Error code: ssl_error_no_cypher_overlap)
The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because the authenticity of the received data could not be verified.
Please contact the website owners to inform them of this problem. Alternatively, use the command found in the help menu to report this broken site.
The only reason I installed this is because an academic site I need to use requires Firefox ( my IE 10 is not compatible apparently). This is the MOST useless browser I have ever tried! I mean common SERIOUSLY? I haven't even changed settings, installed add ons, or anything! So whats the point of this browser if you need to be a computer WHIZZ in order to fix it before you can use it? OMW!
I have already reinstalled the damn thing but still useless....

Hope this is useful, though I still think it's silly something so "good" should be SUCH an effort to get to work... I'm almost over the effort already> As I said, if it wasn't for the fact that my academic website can only USE Firefox I would have deleted it and not even bothered trying to resolve....

  • Firefox will not maximize. Covers about 1/2 of my monitor and will not max, no matter what method I use. How do I correct this?

My firefox screen is filling only about 1/2 my monitor screen. I cannot maximize it no matter what method I use (F11, manual click & drag on corner). I have rebooted; no change.

  • When i start firefox it starts playing a sound in the back round, no matter what pages i have loaded. If i close all but firefox home page it still plays the sound, this is when ever the browers is open.

Every time I start up Firefox a sound starts playing in the back round. If i change what pages are loaded it still plays, this happens when ever I load Firefox. It doesn't matter what web pages I have opened the sound still plays. I can still have other sound from web pages but this sound doesn't stop.

This just started after updating Cool Previews Beta we took the advice of turning off flash player which did stop the loud siren sound which starts as soon as I open up Firefox 3.6.3 I have noticed also lately Firefox will say an image couldn't be save due to not finding an image this just start a few days ago before Cool Previews update seem the only way to stop this siren sound is to turn flash player.
Never have had this problem before.. No warnings as far as system warnings using Vista 64 bit Windows Help this sounds is loud and blaring

  • Firefox (Linux) crashes as soon as it "starts" and the saved tabs won't go away no matter what, profilemanager doesn't work, only opens another firefox.

My firefox on linux ubuntu 9.1 ALWAYS crashes on startup. But only on my regular logon (is it another Profile?), it says hrtimer_nanosleep on system monitor on the firefox_bin. It just did that one time and i can't get it to work. It crashes as soon as i start firefox with the tabs that were upp when it started crashing. Safe-mode is tested and did not work. I saw something about deleting / create new profile. but when i type in firefox -ProfileManager its only starts up another firefox that crashes. And i also saw that someone erased a file named secmod.db. I do NOT have this file. The whole firefox/mozilla files are all messed up in my system but where do i find the profile? It's all a mess this thing. and it's making me kinda pissed.

    If that does not work,
Start '''[https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-using-safe-mode Firefox in Safe Mode]''' {web Link} by holding down the '''<Shift><br> ''(Mac Options)'' ''' key, and then starting Firefox. Is the problem still there?
Start your '''Computer''' in safe mode with networking. Then start Firefox. Try '''Safe''' web sites.

  • When I do a Google search Firefox will not connect me to the links. The only way for me to connect to the listed pages is to right click on the link and open in a new tab or window. I have reinstalled Firefox and the issue still remains.

I run windows 7 on a Gateway FX6000 series computer. This issue has been going on for some time. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox. There are not any malware programs on my machine according to the scans I have run using Ad-Aware. If I use another browser I can connect to Google search links with no problems.

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
*Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

  • Firefox is crashing randomly and frequently, no matter what page I'm viewing.

My firefox has been crashing daily, and not just once or twice but constantly. It happens most when I'm on ebay.com, facebook.com, or myspace.com. But it is not limited to those three pages. I thought it might have to do with the Adobe problem, but I've updated my flash player (a few different times) and I'm still getting numerous crashes. I've even tried removing Adobe completely and reinstalling from scratch. I'm wondering if it has anything to do with this "www.wq32.com"... Occasionally when attempting to connect to a site, this URL takes over and redirects me. I'm sure it is some sort of spyware or virus but I haven't been able to pinpoint it, and none of my antivirus programs have detected any issues. I've even wiped the entire hard drive out and reinstalled Windows, still can't get rid of either problem. None of these issues occur in IE, only firefox. I refuse to switch though, I've been a die-hard firefox user for probably as long as it's been public. Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Nope, still getting crazy random crashes. I just got a notification for Java's update. Going to install now and hope and pray that it fixes it.

  • MAC Pro wakes automatically at 8:00 p.m. local time no matter what I do

MAC Pro purchased November 2008 wakes up automatically every day at exactly 8:00 p.m. local time (was 7:00 p.m. before daylight savings happened last month). It has been doing this since purchase. Even if I turn it off (i.e., not just sleep mode) it starts up automatically at this time; in fact, even if I turn the power bar off after turning off the MAC, when next day I turn on the power bar, the MAC starts up automatically immediately, as if it was waiting to do so.
    Attempted fixes so far:
    * went to Energy Saver Preferences and made sure MAC not set to turn on automatically; changed settings and also set them to sleep at, for example, 8:01. No effect.
    * checked that Blue Tooth is turned off.
    * reset "the" PROM (I assume there is only one).
    * explicitly trashed com.apple.Autowake.plist and com.apple.PowerManagement.plist, then changed Energy Saver Preferences, saying wakeup every day then leaving them set with no wakeup, then shut down computer. No effect; MAC woke up on 8:00 schedule as before.
    * Changed my Security Preferences to Require password to wake this computer and Disable automatic logon. Now the MAC comes up automatically at 8:00 p.m. to the password entry window, but it still comes up that far automatically.
    Configuration:
    Model Name: Mac Pro
    Model Identifier: MacPro3,1
    Processor Name: Quad-Core Intel Xeon
    Processor Speed: 2.8 GHz
    Number Of Processors: 2
    Total Number Of Cores: 8
L2 Cache (per processor): 12 MB
    Memory: 10 GB
    Bus Speed: 1.6 GHz
    Boot ROM Version: MP31.006C.B05
    SMC Version: 1.25f4
Have 3 750GB Seagate internal drives plus the standard 350GB (?) Apple drive. Using one of the Seagate drives as my OS drive (10.5.4).
If anyone can suggest what I might try to solve this, I would be very grateful. I'm wondering if maybe my SMC or ROM version is wrong (it seems to me to likely be a firmware issue, but I really don't know of course; not sure what MAC Model to use to check whether I have the most current versions -- "MAC Pro" or "MAC Pro - 8 core" or "MAC Pro - 2008"...).

There was an update I thought to fix this, but if you really have not updated to 10.5.6, try that.
The bug has something to do with GMT and setting the wake time to something, like a time when you would normally have it on and using it, like 12 noon, can also work.
And of course plugging "Mac GMT startup" into Google leads to an Apple technote:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1831
Take a look on the following news sites as they all documented this "feature." And great places to check daily or every couple days -

  • I Can't install Firefox Sync on Firefox 25.0.1 for Mac, which I need to use Firefox on iphone.

When I tried to install Firefox sync it said it was not compatible with firefox 25.0.1.
Mac 10.6.8 is the most my system can handle.
I have an iphone 4 running iOS 7.0.3.
I want to use firefox on my iphone and believe i need to install Firefox Sync to accomplish this. Is there anyway where i can run firefox on my iphone?
Syncing between the Mac and the iphone would be good but is not essential.

This is disappointing, but thank you very much for your time. This will save me many hours of frustration.

  • After updating to Firefox 4.0.1 on Mac OSX 10.6.4 there is no longer an "Bookmarks Organize Bookmarks" option. Did it move?

I updated to Firefox 4.0.1 on Mac OSX 10.6.4. When I go to the "Bookmarks" drop down menu, there is no "Organize Bookmarks" command. How do I do the operations that were under that command such as add new folders, move bookmarks, export bookmarks, etc.?

"Organize Bookmarks" has been renamed to "Show All Bookmarks" in the bookmarks menu.

It turns out that the problem had to do with network accounts, even though it was not clear at first.  Redirecting the program to the local machine's cache with a network home redirector script fixed the issue.  Thanks anyway.
