Firefox 29.0.1 crashes on MAC

firefox 29.0.1 on mac running osx 10.9.3 hangs systematicaly and tries to access firebolt ports and external drivers. This issue managed to destroy a 1T RAID. Any idea what could it be and how to fix it?

Firefox 3.6.17 crashes after mac updates on snow including java update - only certain pages, like ebay and google crash

I just updated my snow leopard mac with updates including garageband, iphoto, safari, hp printer, itunes and java. After that Firefox 3.6.17, which had been working fine, crashed after I would open many pages including myebay and igoogle. I tried safe mode and disabling all plugins, but it still crashed. Other pages, like Gmail and ebay before I chose Myebay worked fine, at least on open.
I downgraded to 3.6.13, but it did not solve the problem, so I upgraded to v4, which I am not thrilled with, but it stopped the crashing. I would rather say in v3.6 (which isn't as good as 3.5). What can I do to resolve this issue so I can return to 3.6?

First...
Bootup holding CMD+r, or the Option/alt key to boot from the Restore partition & use Disk Utility from there to Repair the Disk, then Repair Permissions.
If no improvement on rebooting, then...
One way to test is to Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, Test for problem in Safe Mode...
PS. Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive
Reboot, test again.
If it only does it in Regular Boot, then it could be some hardware problem like Video card, (Quartz is turned off in Safe Mode), or Airport, or some USB or Firewire device, or 3rd party add-on, Check System Preferences>Accounts (Users & Groups in later OSX versions)>Login Items window to see if it or something relevant is listed.
Check the System Preferences>Other Row, for 3rd party Pref Panes.
Also look in these if they exist, some are invisible...

Firefox 3.6.x and Firefox 5 keeps on crashing on Mac OS X Lion.

I have recently upgraded to lion (about a week ago). Since then firefox 3.6.19 has crashed maybe 1-4 times. Today I decided to test firefox 5 but only after 1 minute and no tabs opened firefox 5 crashed. Firefox 3.6 crashed about 2 times today. How can I fix this???

Along with the crashing I also get the mac spinning pinwheel that means it is unresponsive. This happens constantly...

Thanks for the tip. I took the following steps:
1) Backed up the existing profile (presumably corrupted somewhere);
2) Deleted the existing profile;
3) Moved the existing Firefox to the Trash and downloaded a fresh copy;
4) Started Firefox (thus allowing it to create its default profile)
5) Copied the following files from the backup copy of the previous profile: places.sqlite, key3.db, signons.sqlite, permissions.sqlite, persdict.dat, cert8.db ---

I'm a professional user of Windows and Linux (Ubuntu). But last week, I decided to switch to the Mac and I buy a Mac book Pro. I install the Firefox 3 on it. But after one day, when I installed some add-ons, my Firefox crashed. When I click on it, it become on. But after 2 or 3 seconds, it will crash. If you want to sync it to the iPad from that Mac, you need to upgrade it to at least 10.5.8.
If you want to copy the music to another Mac, you don't. Move the iTunes folder of the item in the Finder's sidebar over as you would any other folder. If you put it somewhere other than the Music folder, launch iTunes with the Option key held down and point it to that location.

Firefox 3.6.18 crashes with an error message "unresolved kernel trap......." on a MAC desktop with OSX 10.4.11. Could this be as simple as a compatibility issue? Firefox 3.6.6 Crashes as soon as I open it.

I am having a problem with Firefox 3.6.6.
This is a fresh install on Windows 7 64 bit, first thing I did is install Firefox, but I can't even open it without it crashing. As soon as i click the open button it takes a few seconds and before I can even see the Firefox browser itself, a crash report pops open.

Firefox 3.6.10 crashes each time I try to open a PDF file? Any suggestions?

Each time I try to open a PDF file from any website, Firefox (3.6.10) crashes. No error messages--just closes abruptly. For add-ons, I've got Personas 1.6.1, United States English Dictionary 1.0.0, and WOT. I've got the Adobe Reader 9 and Foxit 3.3.1.0518. The crashes of Firefox occur with both PDF readers. I did go through the posted solutions for PFD related crashes in the FAQ section but those steps did not resolve the problem.

Does that only happen if you open the PDF files in the browser or also if you open the PDF files in the standalone program by disabling the plugin?

Firefox 3.6.3 crashes when opening and the Crash Report [[@ strlen nspr4.dll@0x15f9f ]. It was working perfectly fine and the last three days, I am having difficulty in opening firefox. Addons are WHY I use Firefox when it works. I am NOT on the bleeding edge any longer. I could go back to boring, boring, Chrome.
