Firefox 29 constantly updates and prompts for a system reboot

This issue persists even after uninstalling and reinstalling the latest version, 31. This has occurred on several different machines I support, and as far as I can tell most of them have no extensions that could be causing the issue.

Try to run the Firefox program once as Administrator (right-click: Run as Administrator).
Do a clean reinstall and delete the Firefox program folder before (re)installing a fresh copy of the current Firefox release.
*Download the full Firefox installer and save the file to the desktop<br>https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all.html
If possible uninstall your current Firefox version to cleanup the Windows registry and settings in security software.
*Do NOT remove "personal data" when you uninstall your current Firefox version, because this will remove all profile folders and you lose personal data like bookmarks and passwords including data in profiles created by other Firefox versions.
Remove the Firefox program folder before installing that newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.

*It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.

Your bookmarks and other personal data are stored in the Firefox profile folder and won't be affected by an uninstall and (re)install, but make sure that "remove personal data" is NOT selected when you uninstall Firefox.

That means you have an app or apps, on your phone, obtained with your old Apple ID. All apps are forever tied to the ID used to originally obtain them. They cannot be updated using any ID other than the ID used to obtain them.

I'm using my Iphone 3GS, when I want to update the software to IOS5. It not allow me to update and prompt me the error message say that connection error or server problem. Anyone have any suggestion.

The apps were purchased by another user with a different Apple ID. You will have to erase them and repurchase them using your Apple ID.

Switching to earlier betas is not recommended . If add-on compatibility is important to you, you should consider using the latest release version (3.6.8) instead of betas.

FYI Update Rollup 3 for Microsoft System Center 2012 R2 - Virtual Machine Manager (KB2965413) Stops SCVMM service starting

I just applied update:

and (KB2965414) but it failed to install.
After a reboot I could not login to the VMM and the service would not start

After I removed the update the VMM was able to start, no reboot required.
When I have time I will try to apply both updates again successfully and see if the issue still occurs.

Machine deployed from Windows 8.1 media with Update slipstreamed prompting for installation of KB2919355

I'm preparing a "Windows 8.1 Update" OS deployment in SCCM and have encountered an issue.
Here's what I did:
Downloaded SW_DVD9_SA_Win_Ent_8.1_64BIT_English_-2_MLF_X19-49847.ISO from the Volume Licensing site
Extracted install.wim from the ISO
Mounted the WIM with DISM to add the KB2959977 package (as directed
here, using
these instructions)
Deployed the image with SCCM
After imaging a VM and booting it, I went into Windows Update and was prompted to install "Windows 8.1 Update for x64-based Systems (KB2919355)". It is my understanding the media I used should have the Windows 8.1 Update integrated into it. Can
anyone explain why Windows Update is offering this update to be installed?
Edit: Here's the output of "dism /image:mount /Get-Packages" ran against the WIM which confirms the KB2919355 package is applied to the WIM:

The operation completed successfully.

This is explained in this KB article, where it states:
The MSDN and VLSC updated ISOs do not contain the complete set of fixes that are offered from Windows Update. Therefore, Windows Update and WSUS will offer the KB2919355 update again to computers that are deployed by using the images in these ISOs. This
is expected and does not result in the full reinstallation of the Windows 8.1 Update but only one smaller component of it. The rest of the update will not be downloaded or reinstalled.

HELP! Can't uninstall 8.1.2 Update - Keeps prompting for reboot

I have Adobe Acrobat Standard. Version 8.1.0 came with the laptop. (Dell, XP, SP3) So I updated to 8.1.2 and have no ends of problems. Though I have clicked on the "ok" to reboot to finish the update, it never connects that it has rebooted.
So I tried to uninstall the 8.1.2 update. Unfortunately the Control Panel says that the "original is not installed" and won't let me continue. So I can't uninstall from there.
I then downloaded the Microsoft Install Clean Up utility which is recommended in other threads. The original 8.1.0 is there and can be deleted. Unfortunately 8.1.2 is nowhere to be seen!! So I can't remove it from there.I do also have Photoshop CS3 installed which seems to have a variety of other items listed for it.
I have tried downloading the 8.1.2 update patch but when you try and run it, it says that there is no Adobe installed. Well that isn't true. I have 8.1.0 installed. You just can't update it or repair it because it keeps prompting for the never ending reboot. I have tried uninstalling, reboot, re-installing 8.1.0 (via control panel AND MS install clean up) with no luck.
So right now I'm trying to get rid of the 'computer needs to reboot' problem which I think might be tied to the failed install of 8.1.2.

I asked on another site and actually got an answer that worked for me. Well... Sort of. This stopped the endless re-boot. Now I have to figure out why I can't manually update. It may be a result of the aborted 8.1.2 update. I'm going to try and uninstall again and start from scratch... again.
The answers I got there I wanted to share here so others may use them.
First Answer:
The issue is seems to be with SP3 and Adobe Standard 8.1 update. The same issue I had experienced on Vista. Following are simple suggestion.
1. Clean Install after reg clean -- may or may not work .Depends on SP3 and Adobe Standard compatibility.
2. Remove Update from Start up and manually download the patches.
(note: Run; MSCONFIG; Startup Tab; deselect Adobe Updater; Ok; restart)
3. Roll back to SP2 and check . Should work fine as it doing on one of my old PC.
Second Answer: (Note: Removing the "AdobeUpdater" from msconfig Startup tab worked for me.)
Try the following:
- Click the Start button and select Run.
- Type in "msconfig" (without the double quotes) and click the OK button.
- A new window will appear with several tabs near the top. Select the Startup tab.
- Find an entry named AdobeUpdater (or similar) and remove the checkmark for it.
- Click the OK button, which will close the window. Now restart your computer.
I hope this will help. The drawback is that you will have to manually update Adobe Acrobat (which generally isn't a major issue).

After automatic software update- being prompted for Darwin login - HELP!

I'm now locked out of the Powerbook G4. Purchased this system back in 2004 - haven't even used it since then as we didn't know how to hook it up to the internet. Recently powered it up and got it hooked into the network (although wireless not working). Noticed that all software and virus stuff was way, way out of date - so did that automatic software update. Once everything was downloaded - it asked to reboot the system. When system reboot, it's now sitting at the Darwin/BSD prompt - asking for a login: - when I try the login that we setup for the computer, it just spits back incorrect login. Tried Administator as well - no LUCK!
Any suggestions??

Firefox wants to update and when I tell it yes it has a box that says "software update" that comes up and just says at the top Downloading Firefox but below that it continues to say CONNECTING to update server

This has been going on for weeks now. I've left it alone for a long time and when I come back the box still says "connecting to update server" - no evidence it actually updates - and Firefox keeps saying it wants to update - have used firefox for years and never had this problem before and the internet is working just fine.

If you have problems with updating then best is to download the full version and uninstall the currently installed version.<br />
You may need to remove the Firefox program folder to do a clean install of the new version.
Do a clean (re-)install:
* Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.
* Firefox 4.0.x: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all.html
* Uninstall your current Firefox version and remove the Firefox program folder before installing that copy of the Firefox installer.
* Do not remove personal data if you uninstall the current version.
* It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.
Your bookmarks and other profile data are stored elsewhere in the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Firefox Profile Folder] and won't be affected by a reinstall, but make sure that you do not select to remove personal data if you uninstall Firefox.

Caching service only works for OS X updates and not for Apps

Hello,
It seems that my OS X Server Caching service only works for Apple OS X Software Updates (in Mac App Store updates, when the icon of Mountain Lion appears). I see it in my logs in verbose mode when I download an Apple OS X Software Updates and not when I download an app in Mac Appstore.
So I'm sure my Caching service works but not for all downloads.
Why ? What's wrong with my server ?
I read in some blogs that Caching Server can work for iOS devices appstore too. I try to download some apps with my iphone but nothing happens in logs ...
Can somebody help me about the Caching Server ?

Updates and Hotfixes for DirectAccess 2012 R2 and Windows 8.1

for some of you who use DirectAccess probably familiar with the following link

as far as I know and according to TechNet, DirectAccess hasn't change a bit from 2012 to 2012 R2 servers.
I use DirectAccess on Windows Server 2012 R2 and I'm surprised to see that there is no single update from that list the applicable with either Server 2012 R2.
if it's true - shouldn't there be a documentation that talks about the differences of the DirectAccess Client\Server from 2012\8 to 2012 R2 \ 8.1?
I'm asking because I want to make sure those updates are already include or not needed for 2012 R2\8.1 and not "forgotten" or something.

and - for a fact, doesn't include in Windows 8.1\2012 R2 as this bug still exists in those operating systems.
another annoying fact - No other update was released for these version yet.
this example approves that not every hotfix \ updates that was released for 8\2012 before 8.1\2012 R2, is already included in 8.1\2012 R2
and allow me to add another fact.
when you configure DirectAccess via the remote access wizard it creates a WMI query called
DirectAccess - Laptop Only WMI Filter.
after you create it in Windows Server 2012 R2 - look at the WMI Query and you'll see that by default it doesn't apply to version 6.3! the version for Windows 8.1.
if you want to add the support for Windows 8.1 you have to modify manually the query which is of course, not supported by Microsoft.
That is just another symptom that makes me wonder if Microsoft did ANY change or update to DirectAccess 2012 R2
