Firefox 3.5 and Apex 3.2 on Windows 2003 Server 32-Bit using Oracle 9.2.0.8

I can't seem to use firefox at all. IE works like a champ, but I get nothing from firefox, just the web page with an iconless login which doesn't do anything when I try to log in.

Interesting. I've been using APEX 3.2 with Firefox 3.5 for several months now without any issues and I know several other developers doing the same. Can you test it from another client machine to see if it's something with the PC or the install of Firefox? You might also try [a href="http://portableapps.com/apps/internet/firefox_portable"]Firefox 3.5 Portable[a], as it will basically give you a clean, fresh install of 3.5 without uninstalling your current 3.5. Just make sure you close all instances of Firefox before you start up the portable one.
On a totally unrelated note, just wanted to make sure you know the 9.2 is no longer a supported database (unless you pay for extended support) and the upcoming 4.0 release of APEX will not work with 9.2 at all.

    I ended up putting it in DFU mode.  It's kinda hard to tell it was in DFU mode because nothing showed on the screen, it was just black, but the sounds from the computer helped to tell me it was connected.
    Itunes still didn't recognize the device for whatever reason.
    So I used redsn0w.  I don't know if I can say that on these forums, but considering itunes was worthless at this point I am going to give credit where credit is due.
    Now I am giving itunes a second chance to upgrade to 5.1, if it doesn't work, well, back to redsnow and maybe I will even jailbreak it this time rather than just using the fecovery fix found under extras.

  • Table files and Index files 2GB on Windows 2003 Server SP2 32-bit

    I'm new to Oracle and I've ran into the problem where my Table files and Index files are > 2GB. I have an Oracle instance running version 10.2.0.3.0. I have a number of tables file and index files that have a current files size of 1.99GB. My Oracle crashes about three times a week because of a "Write Fault/Failure. I've detemined that the RDBM is trying to write a index or table files > 2GB. When this occurs it crashes.
    I've been reading the Oracle knowledge base that it suggest that there is a fix or release of Oracle 10g to resolve this problem. However, I've been unable to locate any fix or release to address my issue. Does such a fix or release exist? How do I address this issue? I'm from the world of MS SQL and IBM DB2 and we don't have this issue. I am running and NTFS files system. Could this be issue be related to an Windows Fix?
    Surely Oracle can handel databases > 2GB.
    Thanks in advance for any help.

    After reading your response it appears that my real problem has to do with checking pointing. I've included below a copy of the error message:

  • SCEP on ISE 1.2 and Windows 2003 Server

    Hi there
    has anyone ever be able to get SCEP on ISE 1.2 working with Windows 2003 Server? I know Cisco recommends Windows 2008 Server onwards, but sometimes the server infrastructure is not yet there.
    Thanks in advance and best regards
    Dominic

    Hmm, good question that I would also like to know the answer to. All of my deployments have been either 2008 or 2012. I believe long time ago I got it working in my lab with 2003 but then my 2003 server blew up so when I re-created it I did it with 2008. However, I cannot confirm 100% and even if it was true it was not in a full production environment. So it would be nice if someone else can chime in here.
    I did come across this though that would suggest that it is supported with some tweaks:
    http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/solutions/Enterprise/Borderless_Networks/Unified_Access/BYOD_Design_Guide/BYOD_ISE.html
    Windows Server 2003, Microsoft SCEP (MSCEP) required a Resource Kit add-on to be installed on the same computer as the CA. In Windows Server 2008, MSCEP support has been renamed NDES and is part of the operating system. NDES may be installed on a different computer than the CA (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc753784%28WS.10%29.aspx).

  • How to install Rescue and Recovery 4.21 on Windows 2003

    There should be a good amount of users running Windows 2003 on their thinkpad for various reasons. As much as I tried, I could not get Rescue and Recovery's MSI to install on my X61 running Win2003 R2 SP2, despite attempts to modify the Setup.ini file.
    the changes made in setup.ini:
    [Win2003Server]
    MajorVer=5
    MinorVer=2
    MinorVerMax=3
    BuildNo=3790
    PlatformId=2
    The returned installer error is "The current operating system is not supported for running Rescue and Recovery. Supported operating systems includes Microsoft Windows 2000 with Service Pack 3 or Windows XP with Service Pack 1 or later".
    This is such a shame as I'm pretty sure RR would run just fine on win2003 as both WinXP and win2003 are based on the same underlying technologies and code. Please advice if there's any method such as a command switch for MSI installer to suppress OS detection error or any modification that can be made to setup.ini to get it to install on win2003 or any utility that can be used to modify MSI files and database? Thanks!

    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Alrighty..I've manage to google a hack to this problem of getting Rescue and Recovery to install on Windows 2003. So let this post be a guide to how to get this done:
    Getting the tools to modify Rescue and Recovery MSI (Windows Installer)
    Download and install Orca MSI editor from http://astebner.sts.winisp.net/Tools/Orca.zip
    Review http://ravi1337.blogspot.com/2007/05/orca-msi-editor-make-any-software.html, this guide should give you a good idea what you'll be doing with this tool.
    Download Rescue and Recovery™ 4.21 from Lenovo
     Download Rescue and Recovery™ 4.21 for Windows XP (32-bit) or Windows 2000  from http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/license.do?filename=thinkvantage_en/z652_setup_rnr42_016c...
    Ensure you are downloading full install with all language pack to avoid any missing installation file due to regional settings
    Run the installer and see that all files are extracted accordingly.
    Modification of Rescue and Recovery Installer
    Delete all files in C:\Documents and Settings\(User Account Name)\Local Settings\Temp\ this will prevent confusion on which files are unpacked and created by RR installer
    Extract z652_setup_rnr42_016c.exe into a folder named z652_setup_rnr42_016c.
    Execute tvtrnr42.exe
    The MSI installer is then unpacked to the following default directory: C:\Documents and Settings\(User Account Name)\Local Settings\Temp\. Note that the installer creates two directories for installation of RR, that are {F151F2B3-0C32-44D3-90E2-E639B8024622} and _isXXXX <--- 4 randomly generated digits
    The folder _isXXXX contain Rescue and Recovery.msi
    On the first run of the installer, the following error will be shown "The current operating system is not supported for running Rescue and Recovery. Supported operating systems includes Microsoft Windows 2000 with Service Pack 3 or Windows XP with Service Pack 1 or later". DO NOT CLICK OK! This is cause the installer to purge all installation files and related directories in the temp directory. Just leave the error window as it is without clicking the OK button!
    Copy all TVT files from folder z652_setup_rnr42_016c into both directories
    Modify setup.ini entry for Win2003Server with notepad and save changes:
    [Win2003Server]
    MajorVer=5
    MinorVer=2
    MinorVerMax=3
    BuildNo=3790
    PlatformId=2
    Right-click on Rescue and Recovery.msi and edit with Orca
    Go to LaunchCondition Table
    Drop the following rows and save changes:
    (((VersionNT=501 AND ServicePackLevel>=1)OR (VersionNT=500 AND ServicePackLevel>=3)) AND WINSERVER=0) OR Installed- The current operating system is not supported for running [ProductName].  Supported operating systems include Microsoft(R) Windows(R) 2000 with Service Pack 3 or later and Windows XP with Service Pack 1 or later.
    IEEXISTS=1 OR Installed - [ProductName] requires Microsoft(R) Internet Explorer version 5.5 or higher. You cannot install the Rescue and Recovery program without this version of Internet Explorer.
    INCOMPAPPNAME=0 OR Installed - [INCOMPAPPNAME] is installed and is incompatible with this version of [ProductName].  This application cannot be installed.  To install [ProductName], uninstall [INCOMPAPPNAME] and then restart this setup.
    Not SGEWRONGVERSION OR Installed - [INCOMPAPPNAME] is installed and is incompatible with this version of [ProductName].  This application cannot be installed.  To install [ProductName], uninstall [INCOMPAPPNAME] and then restart this setup.
    When you're done with these modification, re-run Rescue and Recovery.msi without closing the previous error window. Rescue and Recovery should now install without any glitch! Good Luck!

  • OS 10.3.9 and Windows 2003 Server - Can't get to the network

    My company just up graded from a Windows 2000 to a Windows 2003 server. I am lone Mac user. Yesterday, with Windows 2000, I had no trouble accessing several drives on the server. Now with this upgrade, I can't log on to any of the drives.
    The IT folks are not that Mac savvy and they've tried a few things regarding security, but they're lost, and haven't found anything from Microsoft that helps. And I know nothing about networking. I've tried searching Apple but can't find anything specific to this problem. I can print to all the networked printers, just can't get to the drives.
    Is there something we're missing here? Something in my System Preferences that we needed to adjust first?
    Thanks.

  • Oracle 9i - Unable to set /PAE and /3GB Switch in Windows 2003 Server SP2

    Hi
    I was wondering if anyone had any experience on Windows 2003 Server (SP2) with setting /PAE and /3GB switches.
    I am unable to set both together, setting one or the other works fine in the boot.ini.
    Oracle seem to think you can set both but it causes my OS to crash/become unstable.
    Has anyone set both switches together on 32 bit Windows 2003 Server successfully?
    I am using Oracle 9.2.0.3 Enterprise Edition.
    Thanks

    The server is new. But we installed 10g before 11g was available. Then upgraded to 11g, so it is a little mess. What the oracle installer should have done in a fresh install, it is maybe not what the server has now.
    I have checked for memory issues, processor issues, http errors, every EM setting and metric, and everything looks just right, but the applications are slow and the users are upset.
    Anyway, thanks for the advice. Maybe we will need to re-install everything or go back to 10g on Windows 2003 Server x32. That configuration was working fine before rushing into 11g.

  • WRV54G and VPN and Windows 2003 Server

    Hello. I use Windows 2003 Server on my laptop and trying to establish VPN into my WRV54G. QuickVPN is not compatible with the OS, so that's not an option. I tried the manual setup and I got to a point where I had to enter the destination IP address. I use a DynDNS address and so I won't have a static IP.
    I'm using firmware version 2.39.2.
    Thoughts?
    Thanks!

    First thing i would like you to check is if you are able to "ping" the WAN ip address for the WRV54G.
    Also what are the settings that you have on the WRV ??? typically the remote secure group and remote security gateway should be set at "any".
    In the WRV...under the VPn go to advanced VPN and sset the mode to "agressive" , enable keep-alive and netbios broadcast....
    let me know if this work or let me know a few more details.

  • Clean Access and Windows 2003 Server

    I am trying to install the Clean Access Client on a VM running Windows 2003 Server. When I connect to our customer's network the VPN client appears to connect properly and I see the Clean Access window. Then it all seems to fall over. My customer tells me I should see a blue window with a red OK button on it but I never see it. As a result I never get completely into the network. Is this because I am running this on Windows 2003 Server or should I be looking at something else? Can this run in a Virtual Environment and on 2003 Server?

  • RoboHelp X5 and Windows 2003 server

    Does enyone know if I have to change some robohelp settings
    when robohelp is installed on a windows 2003 server?
    I'm working on merged htm help files and since we moved all
    files to a windows 2003 server, I noticed that the index and the
    search function of the newly compliled files don't work anymore.
    The search displays the message 'No topics found' when I perform a

    The index only displays the index keywords of the main

  • New create desktop shortcut GPO is causing 1030 and 1058 errors on a Windows 2003 terminal server

    Primary DC: Win2012.  BDC: Win2008. Clients: Win7, Win8.1.  Maintaining an old Win2003 terminal server to run legacy software.
    Everything works fine for a look time until I added a new GPO to create a desktop shortcut on the client machines, Windows 2003 runs into Error 1030 (Cannot query list of GPO) and Error 1058 (Cannot access the file gpt.ini for GPO, The system cannot find
    the path specified) GP processing aborted).
    Tried changing the GPO to target Win7 and 8.1 only.  Tried creating shortcut using Computer Config settings only as well as User Config settings only.  Deleting the GPO and creating it from scratch.  Nothing works, as soon as GPO is in place,
    it disables the Win2003 from processing any other GPO.
    No issue with the client machines or other Windows servers.
    Thanks in advance for any help.
    Roget Luo

    Hi Roget,
    Thanks for posting here.
    Error 1030 and 1058 could be caused by many aspects.
    Firstly, please run the command dcdiag on the command prompt of a DC to check if there are any error.
    Secondly, make sure the DFS service is started on the domain controller, and set the Startup type to automatic.
    What's more, make sure the TCP/IP Helper service  is started on the domain co, set it to Automatic and started it.

  • EM12c and GC11g Agent for Windows 2003 R2 64 bit

    Hello Everyone,
    I have setup a GC 11g on Oracle Linux 64 bit to monitor the servers in the data center.
    The problem is, I'm having difficulties installing an agent in Windows 2003 R2 64 bit.
    Few months ago when I checked the certification matrix for GC 11g Agent, I saw that it didn't support Windows 2003 R2 64 bit platform.
    Apparently, now I cannot choose 11.1.0.1.0 in the certification matrix anymore and have left with 12.1.0.1.0 and 12.1.0.2.0.
    However, even the 12c also doesn't put Windows 2003 R2 64 bit platform in the list of supported OS platform.
    The strange thing is Windows 2003 R2 32 bit is supported.
    So, my questions are:
    1. Is there any of you who was successful in implementing the EM12c or GC11g agent on Windows 2003 R2 64 bit?
    2. If you are successful, did you experiencing any problem after the installation and during the installation phase?
    3. Can I use 10.2.0.5.0 agent which is supported to be installed on Windows 2003 R2 64 bit and managed by either GC11g or EM12c?
    Thank you,
    Adhika

  • Windows 2003 Server and BISE1: a painful way

    Hi Forum !!
    I consider my self as an advantage one in BISE1 matters. I've installed BISE1 many times on systems running Windows XP SP2 for proof concepts and as a lab environment for production systems setups. Following procedures "by the book" all BISE1 environments were work fine, and all issues are covered by the documentation.
    But problems appear when we find Windows 2003 Server based systems. Even following step by step the installation process, we find different kind of problems. Thanks to metalink notes we could fix some, but there are others very strange at all.
    For example, In a lab environment, running WinXP we successfully applied Database Patch P5337014 moving database version from release 10.2.0.1 to 10.2.0.3. Then we applied in the same lab environment Warehouse Builder Patch P6264457, moving OWB Repository version to 10.2.0.3.0 and OWB client to 10.2.0.3.33. Later, over a Production environment running Win 2003 Server, we follow the same procedure getting catastrophic results. When we applied the database Patch P5337014, database contro console service fails over and over again sending to the web browser a connection refused message. After a new installation, when we tried to apply the OWB Patch, the Control Center service doesn't work anymore, and none of the metalink notes we found appears to fix the problem.
    It is just me or is anyone else who have faced this kind of problems with Windows 2003 Server ? What kind of workaround exists to solve this problems ?
    Thanks, and your comments are welcome.

    Hopefully you can help me too. My company just purchased a MAC BookPro and we all pc based with a PC Windows server. I have been trying to get this MAC to connect to the server. We need it to be able to access files and folder on the PC server to save and retrieve pc files.
    I finally I it to where to do the GO > Connect to Server > Type in info > it brings up authentication information, we type in the domain and user name and password > but then I get an error saying the user name and password are not found.
    Apple support told me it's now on the pc server side. I know the user name and password are correct. We have installed the Mac components on the server. I don't know if there are some other conflicts with the server or what to do.
    Please let me know if you know of anything else I can try.
