I note you have found bp-54df2ba6-de52-405d-9ccc-4dd272110924 have you any other recent crash signatures or crash IDs, the one you provide seems rather uncommon [https://crash-stats.mozilla.com/report/list?product=Firefox&query_search=signature&query_type=exact&query=karasx2.dll%400x2535&reason_type=contains&date=09%2F24%2F2011%2001%3A44%3A07&range_value=1&range_unit=weeks&hang_type=any&process_type=any&do_query=1&signature=karasx2.dll%400x2535 [karasx2.dll%400x2535]]
Do you still get the problem in [[safe mode]] and with default themes, and all plugins disabled. Note common causes of crashes are malware, and versions of the software IDvault. (do you use IDvault ? - often provided by Comcast) -

Firefox is crashing or closing unexpectedly

Firefox 3.6.3 crashes when opening and the Crash Report [[@ strlen nspr4.dll@0x15f9f ]. It was working perfectly fine and the last three days, I am having difficulty in opening firefox. It crashes with the above crash report every time I open. I came across the bad image error and did a clean reinstall multiple times and that did not help. I have firebug and firecookies as an addon.

firebug and firecookieUsually doesn't immediately crash, although that happens also. Usually hangs, then crashes.
Addons are WHY I use Firefox when it works. I am NOT on the bleeding edge any longer. I could go back to boring, boring, Chrome. -
Why does firefox randomly close (no crash report appaears after)?
Firefox randomly just closes on me. It's not a crash, at least not a normal crash, because the Crash Report does not come up. It's just one moment it is open and the next it is now.
On top of that when it does do this, and at random other times as well, I am not able to re-open it for several minutes or I have to close the actual process through task manager in order for it to open again.I'm sorry but I think you didn't get the problem right. Firefox just unexpectedly closes. It does not crash. There are no crash reports.

Try to create a new test profile to check if your current profile is causing the problems.
See "Basic Troubleshooting: Make a new profile":
There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins" in case there are still problems.
If that new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile, but be careful not to copy corrupted files.

Firefox is not creating crash reports even tho Submit Report is checked
I upgraded to Firefox 4 sometime late March, and it crashes regularly. Firefox last crashed regularly when the plugin container used by Digital Chocolate in Facebook crashed. I upgraded all the plugins, then upgraded Firefox. Now Firefox 4 crashes regularly while running SD in FB, signified by blurred vid & no mouse/keyboard, requiring hard reboot. And Firefox hasn't generated a crash report since Feb 4, 2011 even tho Submit Crash Report is checked
Im not sure about this. But I saw the crash report and it looked like JavaScript failure. You might want to try to update your Java at http://www.java.com
Thanks.

Firefox won't open, crash reports sent
I've been using FF for years. A few weeks after upgrading to 4 from 3.1.16 it would not open - the CrashReporter sent several reports.
I went through all the listed possible fixes and nothing works.I should add that I reverted from 4 to 3.1.16 (this is on another machine, obviously) and it won't work as it did, either.
And that it stopped working at the first startup attempt after shutting that computer down overnight when it had been working fine. -
Mozilla firefox won't open it comes up with mozilla crash reporter before the browser opens
I cannot open the browser at all everytime I try and open it it comes up with crash reporter and then the browser doesn't open at all. I cannot open it in safe mode either as when I try and press shift while opening it it doesn't even come up with an option to open it in safe mode. I cannot troubleshoot it if it is not opening either which is frustrating. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling but still no use.
We're sorry to hear that your Firefox seems to be crashing when you open it. Please perform the following steps to give us a crash report ID that helps us find out more about the cause of the crash.
#Press the following shortcut to get a Run window: [Windows] + [R]. This should bring up a window that contains a text field.
#In that text field, enter %APPDATA% and press Enter. An explorer window should open.
#From that explorer window, double-click on the ''Mozilla'' folder, then double-click on ''Firefox'' and then on ''Crash reports''. Double-click on ''submitted''.
#Now, you should see a list of files that contain reports. Go to ''View'' > ''Arrange Icons by'' > ''Modified'' to get the most recent files at the top of the window.
#Open the most recent 5 files with a text editor and copy the IDs.
#Paste each ID with '''bp-''' into the reply window on the forums.
Thanks in advance!

"when i started my computer today for the first time I clicked on the firefox icon and the crash report came up. I shut down normally last night. I clicked on start firefox multiple times and the crash report kept coming up. I restarted my computer same result. I then tried run as admininstrator and it loaded normally. Now the only way I can run firefox is if I run as administrator. I tried a new profile and that did not work. Same result.
You say click on a file but your do mean you are double clicking to open the file, right?

I'm using XP sp3, fully patched with the current version of firefox 3. 6.12. I have 4 gb memory and a 250 gb hard drive. Most of which is all free, so I have lots of memory and hard drive space. I was using firefox and everything was working fine. I shut it down and when I went back later, it would not open at all. I've uninstalled and reinstalled, renamed the user acct, followed all directions I could find and firefox will not open. I've run all kinds of scans on my computer for viruses or malware and found nothing. Everytime I try to open firefox, I get the crash reporter and it will not open at all. I would appreciate some help. I don't know what else to try. I use firefox as my default browser.
hello, this crash is caused by Websense Endpoint security software that is running on the system. please try to install all the updates for this program that are available...

So from yesterday i started getting random crashes with Firefox and at one point it had froze my screen for a few minutes, now today when i attempted to get into my browser there is about 5 seconds before it instantly closes and sends me a crash reporter, i have tried re-installing and system restore AND trying to use safe mode but it still crashes, is anyone experiencing the same problem?

Firefox crashed and will not restart (get "Crash Reporter only), what do I do?
When attempting to launch Firefox I get this Crash Reporter prompt (http://i494.photobucket.com/albums/rr307/rgf/MozillaCrashReporter.jpg). Clicking "Restart Firefox" does not work. I tried downloading Firefox again but it did not resolve the problem.
Any suggestions?
Tried uninstalling/reinstalling. Tried opening in safe mode. Tried creating a new profile. The only progress is that a window now opens for a split second before the Crash reporter. -
Cant load firefox, getting crash report
I shut down firefox and now when I try to open it I get a crash report. No matter what I do that is all I get. I have tried to uninstall and reinstall firefox but still get the crash report when I try to open it. I even went so far as to restart my computer from a save point a few days ago and I still get the crash report. I do have a second user set up on my computer and I found that if I switch users to the other one firefox loads perfect, but of course it does not have my tabs and saved pages or I would just say the hell with it and use the other user. I'm using a HP Pavilion G7 with windows 7 and everything is showing up to date.
